OK, I've read your report all the way through to this point. I know that the non-hobbying aspects were the focus of this report, but am eagerly awaiting these next installments.

I live in So. Florida
and there are callimg cards available
for $5.00 that allow you tocal for
270 minutes from the states to
Argentina.
this would be an advantage for those
looking to establish a relationship
prior to a trip

Most all of the cards you can buy from Blackstone online are the same as the ones sold around Miami in vending machines, as those machines are sold/distributed/rented from Blackstone, which is a Miami company I'm led to believe (although I'm not certain and haven't ever researched it).

For calling to S. America, once you net out all the fees and charges and bullshit... the best value (lowest rates) are with the Union Florida card.

I've never used their service, but I've read good things about them:

Here's the scoop on the Argentine calling card I bought in Miami yesterday. It's called Mi Argentina and I paid $5 for 5Hours, 40 min, 20 sec. The catch is that all calls are charged in 9 minute increments. If you call for 4 minutes you pay for 9, for 11 minutes you pay for 18, etc.
My 4 minute call was charged 16 cents. The number of the company in miami is305-943-5615, nationwide is 1-866-213-0026
