my advise and word of wisdom in hatyai;

i dont like to go on holiday as the prices there will be sky high and the girls.... like old dinousars!!!!
my favourite place to stay and will be in future trip is Sakol hotel.
510 bath per room per night. next is pink hotel. 540 bath
place to find chicks??? well, they are all over the city. u wont have problem finding them unless u r damn damn fucking stupid and dumb.
for low end girls = See kim yong area
price = 1000-1500 bath for whole day
for middle end girls = wonderful (my favourite)
price = 1500-2000 bath for whole day
for model type = sky lounge in pink compleks (12th floor) and Hansa palace.
price = 3000-3500 bath for whole day (open 7pm onwards) (for hansa go after 11pm)
for supermodel/penthouse girls = SC Heritage hotel room 511
only can go when u know the okt there otherwise u cant go in.
price = 5000 bath for whole day
for superstar (those u always see in thai tv ads) (very rare)
price 10000-30000 bath for whole day. this u need to know their particular agents, need to arrange earlier not when u need on that day. ussually have to call 2 days in advance. this girls are really model, u can see their ads on tv and movies, no jokes!!)

for FL or freebies(very rare) = hollywood disco
price 1000-3500 bath (all this fl are from those places above, they are there bcos they dun have client for that day, so they went there after 11pm to make a last chance to get paid!!! price wise is ussually lower, will go even lower when hollywoods is closing, desperate mah!!!)

chaoprya 4 is good place to find nice girls but the price is not worth it. never like it cause too far from town and ussually u will end up paying comission to tuk-tuk for the girls u take. the girls there wont go for whole night deal!

transport = take 10pm bus from pudu, reach there 7am (i love this arrangement cause i can sleep in the bus and when wake up, well, fucking time!!!!!) (for newbies, u cant sleep well! cos the excitement of the next day event! but will sleep like pig when on the way back!!!)

safety and protection = i know some real taiko there. nvm worry about this safety problem. with money, they will fix me out of any trouble, if any. so keeping their number in my wallet is very useful.

Ahhh, Hatyai... <sigh> Actually, you don't have to be stupid and dumb not to find gals, just a rookie. I'll have to post my Hatyai trip some time soon just to prove it, ha! Welcome and thanks for the tips, Crazyhorse.

where is Hatyai and why would anyone want to go there??

Hatyai is the southernmost city in Thailand. It's the gateway to Malaysia, if you will. The main attraction in Hatyai is ... well ... it's, um ... OK, so Hatyai has absolutely no attractions. You'd never want to go there as a destination. It's sort of a like a rest and sanuk area between Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. However, if you've got a car and a weekend to kill, it's sort of like Tiajuana for Malaysians. Goods are cheaper and, if you know where to look, you can get it on with so many massage, karaoke and freelancing gals.

If I am in Bangkok, is it a good idea to go to HatYai for a couple of days. Is the quality of the girls better than Bangkok?

Good lord, no! Like I say, it's not really a destination so much as a way point. It's a kinda light-industry city. There are plenty of girls there, but there's not much in the way of beer bars and go-go bars (i.e. none). There are lots of karaoke places and plenty of traditional massage places (a couple of soapy joints too), but that's about it. No, you'd be better off hitting Phuket or Samui if you want to take a break from Bangkok. For me, it holds fond memories.

I was in Hat Yai a couple years ago. Really, I wouldn't go there for sanuk. I was staying with this girl in Songkhla, again nice town but wouldn't go there for sanuk either. I think it is a nicer place to be than Hat Yai and you can really hit all the bars in about 10 maybe 20 minutes in Songkhla.

Had some good times in the area, but wouldn't go specifically for sanuk there. Gotta agree with Wombat have some sentimental reasons for liking the place but that is about it.
