Introduction

After what I had experienced over my Labor Day trip, I was anxious to get back on the horse so to speak. During the first weekend in October, I made a quick 3 day trip back to Rio. There was very little planning involved. In fact, I decided the night before I left to get on a plane and head down. It was a different kind of trip. No termas, no Help, and no Terraco. The next morning, I showed up in Rio without a place to stay. I called Don and asked if I could stop by his place and he and Karl were kind enough to allow me to take a shower.

After some conversation, I was off and proceeded to show up at my “girlfriend’s” apartment and told her I was staying with her for the next three days which basically meant she wasn’t “working” either. She had no idea I was even coming. There isn’t much to say about this short trip other than it had quite an ending before I left to go to the airport on Sunday. It’s a story for the Hombre Hall of Fame, but I can’t tell it.

What follows is a quick little recap of my most recent trip to Rio and how I got back to basics in Rio.
