Hey everyone. Here is my take on the gogo scene in Bangkok.

In the 5 weeks I spent in Thailand, and about 15 days I spent in Bangkok, I never went to Patpong. I did stay on Sukhumvit Soi 8, so I went to Nana Plaza several times, and it was always a lot of fun.

In Nana, I have been to Rainbow, Bottoms Up, Angel Which, and Mandarin.

Angel Which had a lot of very good looking girls, all were 6s+. I think Heineken were like 120 Bhat, a little more expensive then at other bars. I heard that they have pretty good shows, but I never stayed around for one.

I liked Rainbow, pretty good girls, lots of them on stage at once. I was pretty drunk by the time I made it here, I don’t remember if I went to Rainbow 1 or 2. I think prices were cheaper here, maybe 100 bhat for a beer. I had heard that this bar has nude shows, but again I never caught one.

Bottoms has a little bit of nudity for a few minutes starting at 11, and if I recall the girls were all pretty good. Sorry, I can’t remember the beer prices. This was probably my #2 favorite bar in Nana.

The coolest place was Mandarin. I was just kinda walking around, trying to find some nudity, and I was walking on the second floor trying to get back to the ground, when I got to the end, where I thought there would be stairs, it ended up being an up only escalator. Oh well! A pretty cute girl told me to walk up one level of stairs and check out her club, Mandarin. I obliged.

When I got in, I thought I would be disappointed, the girls were not naked, they wore very short skirts with no panties, some topless, but nothing special, and they were not exceptionally good looking. So I decided to have one Heineken and leave. I was sitting 1 row back from the stage, near a Japanese dude (the place was pretty empty). I had just gotten into a masters program at IUJ, so I said hi to the guy and started talking (I ended up going to a Ph.D. program in Florida). I asked him what his favorite bar was, and he said he liked the bars on Soi Cowboy. He said he did like this one too. I said, this one is kinda boring, you can not see much. He said to go to sit at the stage. So we moved up, and I noticed… hey, this is a 2 level bar, they have another stage directly above this stage, with a glass floor! So you can look up and see up the skirts of the girls on the next level. This struck me as pure genius, and I was quite pleased. Latter I noticed that the floor of the stage we were sitting at was a mirror, so you can see up those girls skirts too! After 2 more beers, the Japanese guy invited me to join him at Soi Cowboy. I was getting late (like 12:30), so we had to hurry. I had never been there before, and this was my last night in Bangkok (I had to leave at 6 the next morning).

We went to a bar, I think it’s name was Baracuda. There was hardly anyone there, so you would think that we would get better service. Nope. Oh well. They had the same glass bottom floor (the dude could tell that I liked that) but few girls and quite honestly they were not good looking at all. So we quickly went to the last bar of the night. I think it was Long Gun, but it could have been raw hide, he had wanted to take me to both. Which ever it was, they had an excellent show. We got right up at the stage, and got to see everything. There wasn’t any nudity, but the show was so well done that it was still tons of fun.

That’s my take on the Bangkok bars. I was pretty shy when I went (I am only 23) but I look forward to going again soon.
