Hi All,
After soaking up much knowledge and wisdom from the board, I am finally in Buenos Aires for a two week stay. I intend to share as much info as I can to give back a bit and also to do so as close to "real-time" as possible (hah, those embedded reporters would be very jealous)to also catch back some feedback from the board veterans.

Pre-Day 1
First the basics of travel, flight was reasonably priced, $ 780 RT with taxes from NH. By the way, the difference between MHT and BOS is like night and day. Arrived at the airport, 10 minutes later, I had cleared security and was eating my last McDonald's "feast" for the next two weeks (was the only option past security). Compare that to at least 30-40 min at Logan with very grim looking security (guys with automatic weapons) and an overall tense atmosphere. I guess the security is valid but it still is a bit unpleasant not to mention the delays.
Flight was delayed (UAL) for a fault with the "auto accelerator". Well, anything dealing with the engines seems serious to me but we were underway after an hour fifteen delay.
Flight in economy was less than comfortable. It has been two years since my last extended flight and somehow those memories grew very dim and I actually expected to catch a few z's during the overnight flight and even went and booked in an early afternoon city tour with Roxana.
I arrived very groggy but due to the lengthy delay at immigration, my baggage was waiting for me on the carousel for a change. Customs took two seconds as I went to a certain guy (as opposed to old guy or stern looking woman). I lucked out as the other two seemed to be conducting resarch for the unlucky person's biography.
After that, the driver I had arranged was waiting for me and 30 minutes later I was checking into my rented apartment for two weeks of fun and "relaxation".
Also had arranged for 5 hour long Spanish sessions, maid and laundry service, a cell phone and a side trip to Iguazu through a local agency (back channel me as I can't recall if Hombre permits links to other commercial sites, guess is no).
Why the cell phone? So you can call other cell phones more easily (the apt phone doesn't allow calls to cells due to extra charges) and more importantly you aren't tied to the hotel phone for a communications point (although there are numerous locutorios which are calling centers and pay phone around, call me lazy). Price is one peso per minute, 10 minutes minimum daily charge. Also, it is easy to call a reputable radio taxi and avoid the scams and/criminal drivers (the girl I was with the first night mentioned the dangers of certain cab services numerous times).
So to sum up:
1. Great start at the airport, fast check in and no hassles at secuirty.
2. Accumulate/buy miles to get the bump to biz class for a longer flight (mine was 10.6 hours from the connection in DC).
3. Exchange rates at the booth are no fee but give a lousy rate, 2.58 where the going rate is more like 2.84.
4. Noise cancelling headphones are a good thing.
5. Taxis are cheap and plentiful, call a reliable one and spend 2-5 bucks to travel the city, especially at night. Not just for safety, but to conserve your energy for other activities.
Day one (Actually) to come...

Day 2 (Day 1 delayed due to temporary amnesia).
Hi again,
In continuing the timely postings, tonight was intended to hit several local clubs with a couple of other mongers I met up with.
But the rain cut that to about 4 and 2 of those had more guys then girls as in X guys and 0 girls.
So of the two, the first was club Black. We decided to have a look at such a "famous" place and the other posters have been quite accurate in the decription, entry is still 25 pesos including one drink. There were a few ultra hotties, one could have easily been a hollywood star (face, body, style) no kidding here. Many others were good looking as well, but only 2 or 3 others would clearly rate as 9 or 10 in terms of looks.
The rest (and there were close to twenty five girls at 10:30) were above average to average.
Now the interesting part, the two guys I was with are from the States, are Latinos by birth but regular American guys in bearing. Both speak Spanish very well and are in their thirties, dressed nicely, etc. The asking price from a couple of the girls present was U$D 300 /hr (each and separately) and they wouldn't budge. Maybe it was because the hour was so early but I was quite surprised that a fairly good looking guy with a complete command of Spanish couldn't get them to budge. I decided against any action after hearing the price at the beginning. Geez, even for the best of the crop, it is like prices back in the US. Maybe it was the timing or the approach but it may be that the chicas have engaged in price fixing a bit. Both girls that were approached refused to give out their phone numbers as well, so no opp for an after Black's call and meet.
Well, the next stop was Cafe Exedra and it was quite different in terms of atmosphere. Black seemed to be somewhat stiff and formal/professional, not exact on the wording for this. By comparison, people were talking and laughing in Exedra. There were some good looking girls as well, one of which matched 80 % of the chicas at Black. However, this is where my fellow mongers really enter the picture. One was sandbagged by a chica he took out before and the other snagged the hottest hottie before I could even spy her. The hottie's friend of course came along and the four of us chatted for quite awhile, had a few cortados (espresso like with foam, stronger than cappuccino and a small cup, like two or three shots). Great conversation, although I only caught portions of it (was in Spanish and I had to wait for the translation most of the time) but we had a good time.
Well, the trapped guy decided to take "his" chica out anyway and by this time the girl to my left was looking pretty decent and it was getting a bit late...
My fellow monger on the other hand was extremely happy with his choice and the four of us took off.
A short cab ride later me and "my" chica, call her N arrived and went up. In the light of my apartment, reality set in a bit more. She is a bit heavy and became less friendly and bubbly as compared to the club. She also insisted on the cash up front and like a weak newbie, I gave in, not wanting to let a night go by without some action (I will not be repeating that mistake going forward as I have recovered from my 36 hours w/o sleep and am recharged for the rest of my stay). The sex was OK, I had to don my George Lucas hat and direct all of the action but once given direction she did proceed with some skill (very nice 15 minute BJ, covered though). We (and by we, I mean me, not that I have illusions of royalty but rather that her moans and groans could have been lifted from a soundtrack) finished in mish, chatted for a bit and said good bye. Total price was AR $150 for the session plus 15 for the cab back.
Would not repeat, but like they say, you learn better by actually touching the hot stove and I am resolved to go forth tomorrow, with renewed purpose.
More to follow...

General information so far:
1. Keys are in the tradition of a suped up skeleton key, large, convoluted and tricky to insert (at least in the regular buildings). Also had to turn twice to the right, one more quarter twist and pull then push to get the door open. This may seem trivial/obvious to try, but I spent a good 5 minutes cursing at the door before it opened. Also need to use the key to clear the bolt from the frame while closing otherwise the neighbors start complaining about the loud booming noises.
2. Spanish - learn it, know it, love it. Seriously. I have a decent ability and found it lacking in practice many times. I can only imagine if one lacked any level. I know other members have posted very favourable experiences w/o but I just can't get comfortable in a city if I cannot communicate at least at a basic level with the people. Not to mention that it enhances the chica experience (and can decrease the price) enormously. But I prefer less the wham-bam-gracias Srta approach and more a GFE experience.
3. At the supermarket, you need to weigh produce in the area somehow. I tried to buy a bunch of bananas at Disco (supermarket, not record store. Go figure) and the check out lady insisted that I go back to weigh them.
4. ATMs - BankofAmerica/Fleet/BankBoston has many ATMs in the SOuthern Cone, especially in Gran Buenos Aires. If you live near one, open a free account and then enjoy no fee access here in dollars or pesos.
5. About those pesos, try getting 90 pesos twice, daily for some smaller bills. Cabs generally can't/won't break a 100 and it can be rather embarassing. The first night I had to ask my chica for the cab fare!

Hogpenny,
You said: Well, the trapped guy decided to take "his" chica out anyway and by this time the girl to my left was looking pretty decent and it was getting a bit late...
This is what happens when you start making decisions after a few beers.

Day 1
Well, the trip started out well enough insofar as the travel, but now onto the important things, the food and the women!
I got to the apartment around 1:30 and had a city tour with Roxana for 3 and a dinner date for 8. I was feeling a bit tired but the thought of spending a very pleasant evening with a beautiful portena can do wonders for your energy level.
The tour itself was nice, Roxana speaks English quite well and we chatted half and half (eng/span) to ease me into the scene. We went to Boca, Puerto Madero, el Centro, etc. and saw some of the highlights of each section. I now have a better idea of what I want to see in detail.
However, the tour did involve a lot of walking as well and I was really beat by the time I got back to the apartment at 6:15. I took a quick siesta, showered and my date showed up promptly at 8 (in fact, all of my appointments have been on time, perhaps this is a new thing for the chicas). This was also arranged through Roxana for an internet chica and her appearance was actually better than the pictures. "R" was very tanned and toned, a real killer body in a black leather skirt and low cut red top. Her large (and natural it turns out) breasts kept wanting to say Hi and she had to adjust her top several times throughout the evening. Needless to say, I did not mind watching the adjustment (although neither did this one old guy at the restaurant either).
We ate at Cabana las Lilas in Puerto Madero (the old port region). The place was nicely elegant, waterfront seating (with strategicly placed heat vents, a bit cool right now in BA). We started with a small variety of do-it-yourself tapas including several types of bread, cheese, roasted tomatoes, etc. Very nice. The main course was bife de lomo (tender loin beef) of course (it's what's for dinner after all, lunch too). An excellent selection and flavor, done exactly as I had asked and served with buttery mashed potatoes. Some excellent apple pie with ice cream capped a wonderful meal. With wine and tip the total was something like 110 pesos, although I can't recall the exact amount. Still, back home this would have been close to 80-100 USD so anyway you slice it, life is good here. Throught the entire dinner, I was able to have a great conversation about politics, life in general and even a little philosophy with my date, turns out she is also a lawyer! However, with the economy being what it is and that the Argentines don't seem to be quite as given to litigation as we Americans, there are many professionals without work.
Speaking of life, now that I had dispatched with the rumblings of the belly, the call of another body part was really asserting itself and we promptly left for the apartment.
R was very passionate and seemed to be really attentive to me. We spent some time fooling around on the couch and then had some real "quality time" in the bedroom. My report will likely not feature lots of graphic detail (although I do appreciate it quite a bit in other reports) but suffice to say, I was quite satisfied with the whole encounter. The evening itself was the whole experience, really felt like a real date and thus the entire experience was that much better. I am definitely a quality over quantity kind of guy. I know there are many other members that would likely qualify for the US fornication team (if it existed) but that isn't me.
Then it was time to pass out and get ready for another day in paradise but lady luck was going to swing the other hand a bit. I will be adding a short update to the other posts soon.
