Saturday Night, Jan 17

Check-in was a breeze at the Orchid; they had my reservation and gave me room 50 in the Jasmine wing. Because of the name "Family Deluxe", I mistakenly assumed the room would be large enough for a family. It was not. Just a queen-sized bed and two chairs. The bathroom had a shower only, no tub and there was a well-stocked refrigerator with drinks and snacks at very reasonable prices. I cranked the a/c which worked fine for this trip - but the heat was hardly oppressive. Had the outside temperature been 10 degrees hotter, the room would have been uncomfortable. I quickly unpacked and took a shower. The plan was to meet Sandman who said he would have a couple of girls waiting for me. I went downstairs (no elevators at this "Resort") to find Sandman's room number. He was staying in Room 71 in the Hibiscus wing. I made my way across the pool area and up another 3 flights of stairs and knocked on the door. Sandman welcomed me with a San Miguel and three towel-clad girls sitting on his bed. He invited me to pick two and he would take the third. I chose Ilana, 19 and Gracie, 21 both of whom work at Dirty Duck.

Photos: Ilana & Gracie 01 02 03 04 05

The plan was to have a session and meet at the Pick-up Disco around 1:30am. I took my two new friends up to the room. They both took separate showers while I waited for them on the bed. While Gracie was still in the shower, Ilana and I got to know each other better. She was into the DFK and before you know it, Gracie was next to me on the bed. I showed Gracie a little attention while Ilana started giving me a nice BBBJ. We then switched and Ilana put a condom on my dick.

Ilana's 19 y/o pussy was moist and tight, just how I like 'em. It took a little bit to get inside, but once there, Ilana rode me hard. This was my first pop in a while, plus I wanted to grab some dinner before meeting up with Sandman, so I finished pretty quickly. Gracie did most of the talking, but there was something about Ilana that I really liked. She had a quiet innocence about her, and I took a real liking to it.
We all cleaned up separately, and then went down to the bar. It was about 12:40am and I ordered a burger and the girls ordered some fries. I got into a conversation with a couple of guys that had checked in right behind me, from the AC2 board. They were both in their late 20s and one was there with his father, who had been stationed at Clark AFB. The food took forever to get there, almost 30 minutes, but it was decent, and my first time experiencing a hamburger with pineapple and fried egg. We quickly ate and then we walked over to the Pick-up Disco, a five-minute walk from the Orchid Inn. I paid the 50P (90 cents) entry fee for myself (the girls were there earlier and were allowed back in for free) and I saw Sandman and his date, but it took a few minutes before we could all get seats together. There was a group onstage doing pop/rap cover tunes with a live backing band. They weren't bad and the crowd was really into it. The Pick-up Disco is a pretty nice place; three stories high, with seating at every level. In between sets, the audience is invited to dance on the dance floor. We had several drinks and some street food brought in and I can’t remember the tab, but it was really cheap. I got to liking these Mango Shakes that set me back 70 pesos ($1.10) per glass. It’s easy to be a big spender in AC.

After an hour or so, we left and went to another club, Nero’s. The place was pretty dead and by that time so was I, so I bid Sandman and his friend goodnight, and walked over to the Orchid with my two girls in tow.

We repeated the same routine as earlier, separate showers and a nice session with Ilana getting most of my attention. It was now 4:30am and I was ready for sleep. Around 6:15am, while going to the bathroom, Gracie asked if she could leave, that my snoring was really bothering her and it was too cold. I told her no problem, as I had taken a liking to Ilana, who seemed to want to stay. But Gracie said something to her in Tagalog and she decided to leave with her friend. I gave them each a box of chocolates and 300 Pesos each and passed out on the bed.

Sunday, January 18

I woke up at about 10:00am and went downstairs to partake of the breakfast buffet. It’s not a self-serve buffet – you tell the chef what you want and he prepares it for you and then he (or a waitress) brings over the plate. The food was good and price was reasonable at fewer than 200 Pesos, if I remember correctly. As I was eating I saw Sandman’s date leave, so I figured I’d knock on his door – but there was no answer (he was in the shower as it turns out). I didn’t want to disturb him, so I left a message with the front desk that I was going to walk around and would be back at 12:00noon. I ran back upstairs for my camera, and met “Amy” who was the housekeeper for my wing. I gave her 300 Pesos and asked for some more towels (They give you 2 bath and two hand towels per day, hardly enough for multiple girls with multiple showers). She said I could count on extra towels every day.

I then went downstairs to the travel desk that Swagman runs right next to reception. I told the lady I wanted to leave on Tuesday for Bangkok and that there was a 10:00am flight I was interested in so I could take advantage of the SEAir shuttle from Clark to Manila. I then wanted to go from Bangkok to Hong Kong on Saturday, preferably in the morning, so I could spend some of the day wandering around Hong Kong. It took about ten minutes to pull up the flights and then she came up with the same crazy prices I found Stateside – like $800 for the two flights. Even she thought that was high and she suggested she make the reservation for these flights but not book it until the regular travel agent looked over the booking on Monday morning. I was fine with that, gave her all my info and hoped for the best, though I was not optimistic.

I went outside and walked down the street, which is more of a dirt road towards the intersection of Santos Street seeing just how ugly this place looks in the harsh and unforgiving sunlight. I then walked towards Fields Avenue passing the famous Kokomos along the way. I then walked all the way down Fields to Macarthur Blvd and checked out the local scene. There are plenty of shops and food stalls and traffic and people - it's great just taking it all in. I then made my way back up Fields. I checked out a few stores with knockoff jerseys but found the craftsmanship to be well below-par. You'd get laughed off the streets of Brooklyn wearing such obvious fakes. I also checked out leather shoes and they reminded me of an old school taunt - "I used to have shoes like that. But then we got off welfare." If you are into sandals or boots, though, you might want to check them out. Plenty of places making custom pool cues, but if you bring your own cue into a bar, you better have the game to back up that statement. So much for shopping in AC (at least along Fields)

At noon I hooked up with Sandman and we took a couple of trikes to a massage place towards Clark on the left hand side of Perimeter Road, called the Massage Palace. You can't miss it - they are open 24 hours and have a big "For Sale" sign. Sandman had been there previously and booked his regular masseuse; I chose another girl and entered the room. It was a nice clean, private room with its own shower. I showered, toweled off and got on the bed. The massage was good, but I was a little uneasy. It seemed like she was trying to get me erect without being obvious, so I kept waiting for her to ask if I wanted the happy ending - but she never asked. In all we were there about 90 minutes and they charged 600 pesos ($11) a little pricey by Bangkok standards and nowhere near as good. But it was a nice way to spend some time.

We then took a Jeepney (4 Pesos or about 7 cents!) to Margarita Station to have some lunch. This place does a pretty good business and although it is not air-conditioned, on this particular day the fans and the breeze made the place quite comfortable. I ordered a large Frozen Margarita (109P/$2) and it was pretty good – good enough that I ordered a second one. We each ordered lunch, me opting with a ½ sub sandwich (they’re pretty big). About 15 minutes later the waitress comes with Sandman’s food and puts a hamburger down in front of me, which belonged to the customer one bar stool over to my left. So the waitress takes away the hamburger and I wait for my sub. And wait. And wait some more. Finally, 20 minutes AFTER Sandman FINISHES his food, mines ARRIVES. The sub was ok, nothing to rival the greasy Italian subs you find in any sub shop in Jersey, but hey, we’re in AC, PI not AC, NJ.

We pay the bill (can’t remember what it was but it was very reasonable) and walk towards the hotel, with Sandman stopping to buy a few bootleg DVDs, some of which weren’t due to be released theatrically until the Summer of 2004. Yet here they were in AC for 100P each.

We then walked to the Dirty Duck because Sandman wanted to BF Ilana on of the two “birthday girls” he had procured for my arrival. We walked in and there were a few customers and about 4 girls dancing onstage. None of them were that attractive, but there were quite a few other girls in the bar, all of whom I was told were barfineable. I was attracted to the door girl so I had a waitress call her in. Christy sat down joined me for a drink Her English was good and she had a great smile and winning personality. I asked her if she wanted to come back to the hotel and she readily agreed: piece one of my entourage was in place. Ilana hadn’t shown up to work yet, so I left Sandman and Christy and I walked back to the hotel. 10 minutes later I was taking a shower and getting ready for a little afternoon delight. It was Christy’s turn next and I flipped through the channels as I waited for her to finish. She came out wrapped in a towel and turned the lights off – Christy was on the shy side. Over the next hour I tutored her in the proper BBBJ techniques and seemingly introduced her to reverse missionary and doggie. What she lacked in experience she made up for in enthusiasm and I could tell this would get better with time. And she had a real tight pussy, just how I like ‘em.

We cleaned up separately and I needed to take a nap, so Christy watched TV as I got some rest. I set the alarm for 7:30pm and woke up, feeling rested. I freshened up and got dressed and gave Sandman a call to see what he was up to. Apparently things hadn’t worked out with Ilana so he was on the prowl for his next date. Christy and I headed over to Kokomo’s for dinner. At about 8:00pm the place was doing a pretty good business and we were seated and ordered dinner. I had the Cajun Shredded Pork and a Mason Jar of Iced Tea, both of which were good and plentiful. Again I can’t remember the cost, but it was very reasonable. Plus, Kokomo’s has three internet stations and you can go to the cashier’s window and ask for free access with any purchase. They’ll give you a code good for 20 minutes. I logged on and took care of a couple of things and then it was of to Fields Avenue to find the rest of my entourage.

I had read a lot of favorable reviews about the Blue Nile, so that’s where I wanted to start. The place was about half full with customers, but the stage was overflowing with girls. We were seated at a table right by the stage. I ordered drinks and surveyed the talent. There was some definite talent here: I knew I wouldn’t be leaving alone. After a few songs, one of the girls caught my eye, so I had a waitress call her over. Luiza was another cutie with a good attitude and she and Christy seemed to get along just fine. We had a couple more drinks, then I paid Luiza’s BF and the three of us headed out the door. Fields Avenue was getting busy now – it was a little after 10:00pm. I didn’t have an agenda at that point and Christy suggested Confetti’s as her two sisters worked there. So Confetti’s it was.

Five minutes later we were seated at a table in Confetti’s. There were maybe a dozen girls onstage, including Christy’s two sisters, who seemed very excited to see her. They jumped offstage and drinks were ordered for all. I think that the ladydrinks in Bangkok are cheap (120baht/$3) – so in AC I think they’re giving them away – it’s like 80-100P, less than $2). It’s real easy to be a big spender here without actually spending big. PLUS, what shocked the hell out of me is the acceptance of credit cards at the bars. Not all of them took cards, but Blue Nile did and so did Confetti’s – in fact, they even took American Express – so your bar tabs/bar files can earn you Frequent Flyer Miles! The other BIG difference I noticed between AC and Bangkok is in AC, the owners understand the concept of the buyback – in all my time in Thailand, the house HAS NEVER bought me ONE DRINK, even if I’m spending 3,4,5000 baht. IN FACT, the MORE YOU SPEND IN BANGKOK, the more they seem to try to HUSTLE YOU FOR DRINKS. To me that’s the difference between AC and Bangkok. AC is a big party and in Bangkok, it’s strictly business. And that’s ok – as long as I get the service, and I’ve always found the service to be great in ANY bar in Bangkok – in the blink of an eye I have another drink and I feel “taken care of”. But would a buyback kill them? I guess they just don’t understand the concept.

So I start talking with Christy’s two sisters, Maria and Rosalinda. Maria has a great personality and is real outgoing and funny – I could tell right off that she would be great to hang out with. Rosalinda on the other hand was unattractive, very reserved and a Cherry Girl – strikes one, two, and three. But here was the dilemma – it’s becoming a group thing, so not taking Rosalinda would be awkward. But I think it over and say what the hell, let’s take both so the entourage is now up to 4. We have another couple rounds of drinks and the owner or manager comes over, shakes my hand and buys me another drink.

We then leave Confetti’s and head over to the Pick-up Disco. The place is packed but we get seats upstairs on the second level. Drinks are ordered – I’m know having these great Mango Shakes – tasted great, but with the umbrella looked like something a Long Island housewife would be drinking on a Carnival Cruise. But I don’t care, I’m just sucking them down and at 70P a pop, it’s just a great value.

There’s a group performing a set of pop and rap tunes, a couple of guys and a couple of girls calling themselves 21st Century – and they’re not bad. Everyone is really into it and they’re taking requests and a good time is being had by all. After the set is over, some of the girls do down to the stage to dance. More drinks are ordered and we also ordered some appetizers – it’s a real party atmosphere and I’m having a great time.

We stay for one more set and then the girls dance some more. We leave around 12:30am and things are really hopping outside as we make our way to Kokomo’s. I need to check in on the internet, but this free 20 minutes has the stations occupied most of the time. I wait my turn and the girls are playing pool. While I’m in the men’s room, I see the TV sports schedule up – the Pats/Colts game will be coming on at 3:00am. So know when I’m online, I transfer a g-note into my betting account and take the odds and the Colts straight up, fuck the 3 points. I bet on football all throughout the season and I really pay attention to injuries, streaks, weather, but not this time – just pure, stupid instinct.

So I settle up the bill and we go walking up the street to Camelot on the recommendation of DonMarco. The place is pretty impressive, with a giant screen showing music videos and a bunch of girls dancing on the stage. We hang out there for a while, having drinks and just having a good time. I don’t really see anyone who strikes my fancy, so no invites are given to join the group. At about 2:00am, we decide to hit one more place, the Blue Nile Executive. We entered in the Blue Nile, then went upstairs and crossed over into the Blue Nile Executive. The place was really done up – the put a lot of money into the place. There were a lot of people here, but we were able to find some seats. I noticed a sign that said VIP rooms near the bathroom so I enquired and was told they were private Karaoke Rooms. I went inside one and it looked like a good place to chill for a while, especially with a few girls.

After a couple of more rounds, we decide to call it a night and all five of us head back to the Orchid. I clean up and change into something more comfortable and the party gets started. Nothing drastic, just some nice DFK with Christy and then Luiza and then Maria. The Cherry girl is being real quiet, just sitting on a chair trying to stay away from the action. I knew that would happen, but it’s cool – I have more than enough to keep my hands full.

By this time the Pats/Colts game is starting so I get comfortable on the bed with Luiza on one side and Christy on the other. The two sisters are sitting in the chairs opposite the bed. The game is not going my way, so my mood isn’t the best. The girls are sensing this even though they have no idea what’s going on with the game. Halftime comes on and I’m ready for some action, so Luiza starts up with a nice BBBJ. Her technique is much better than Christy’s and I’m enjoying myself, trying to hold off from popping until halftime is over. When I see them teeing up the ball, I tell Luiza to pick up the pace and I explode halfway though the runback. Now onto more important things like the 2nd half of the game.

Well Manning throws 4 INTs and even though they make it close at the end, it was one of those games that you just knew you weren’t going to win right from the start. After the unsuccessful onside kick I had Christy give me a goodnight BBBJ, or rather good-morning as it was almost 7:00am. Her technique was getting better, but she was salivating too much and had to keep spitting out on a towel – not too smooth. I popped just After 7:00am and told the girls it was time to go to sleep. The two sisters were sleeping on the chairs and I after waking them up I paid everyone 500P and told them to get home safely. If I would have had a suite, I would have let everyone sleep in, but there just wasn’t enough room. Man, if that bet had come through, it would have been one of my most memorable nights ever. As it was, it still was pretty good.

Monday, January 19

For whatever reason, I woke up early, around 9:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep. I went downstairs to check out my travel situation and there was a different travel agent there and I was expecting to have to go over all the details again, but much to my amazement, not only did she know what I wanted, but she had already done all the research AND found me both segments on Thai Air for $375 TOTAL! Wow, I was really impressed! She explained one of the reasons it was very expensive the other way, was because I was using two DIFFERENT carriers for one-way trips. The only thing was the Manila to Bangkok segment didn’t leave until 7:30pm on Tuesday, but the Bangkok to Hong Kong segment left at 8:30am, which would give me plenty of time to get into trouble in Hong Kong.

I was pretty happy about this and then went back upstairs where Christy was starting to wake-up. She showered and we both went downstairs to have some breakfast. We were joined at breakfast by Sandman and his girl Michelle, a good-looking girl who spoke great English with a different accent, like almost Indian. Anyway, we caught up on events and Sandman suggested we all go to the Mall, like a 20 minute drive away. Not really my thing, but I agreed and we shared a taxi to the mall. I guess there are two malls close to each other, sorry - I don’t remember the names and they were ok, but basically, they were malls. The girls looked around for clothes and remarked that stuff was very expensive here so we met the driver and went to the Savers Mall on Macarthur, closer to Fields. This place was pretty run down and the AC was barely keeping up with the demand – and it really wasn’t all that hot outside. While the girls were shopping, I found a couple of Cell Phone Kiosks and bought a used Nokia with new battery and charger for 1,650 + Buddy card with number and 150P load for a total of 1,800P ($32). I thought this was a good deal, even though the sales person made no promises that it would work with my Thai SIM card. I met up with the rest of the group who had made some small purchases and we made our way back to the hotel. We split the taxi fee of 1,000P ($18). I don’t know if that’s high – but it was an air-conditioned taxi, not a Jeepney or a Trike.

I wanted to pamper myself in town a little bit with a shave and haircut and then maybe a massage, so I headed towards the corner of Fields and Macarthur based on the recommendation of Blazers and BigBalls. I found the barbershop, called Balibago Barber Shop and sat in Jeff’s chair. I looked at the price list and almost fell out of the chair. Haircut 50P. Shave 50P. Facial 90P. The prices were outrageously low. I told him I’d take everything, and over the next 90 minutes I got a first-class shave with no cuts or nicks, a nice haircut, good facial and a really good massage with alcohol rub-down. I was feeling clean and refreshed 90 minutes later and the whole thing was 450P ($8)!!!

barbershop

I was then a little hungry and had noticed a BBQ Pig stand about 50 yards across the parking lot from the barber shop facing Macarthur. I went over and sat down and it was easy to order because they only had one thing on the menu: slow-cooked pig. I asked for a ½ pound and got ½ kilo (my fault) and ordered a 7-up. The pork was hacked up and served on a plate accompanied by a green salsa. I consider myself a BBQ connoisseur and I can tell you that was the best plate of slow-cooked pig I’ve ever had anywhere. Moist, juicy, tender, the skin was perfect and not a bone on the plate – all meat! Total bill: 140P ($2.50)!! I was in heaven. They have a sign out front that says Jolli’s Lechon Baka – I highly recommend them.

While sitting and eating I noticed a sign that advertised massage upstairs (right in back of the eatery) called Clockwise Massage Center, so I ventured upstairs and knocked on the locked door. It was opened and I entered a small reception area where a massage session was advertised for 300P ($5.50). There’s a small changing room with lockers – I was given a key, a towel and some big-ass shorts that were actually a little big for my big ass. I changed and entered the massage room. There were four beds total out in the open and two other guys were getting massages. I laid down on one of the beds and a cute girl – maybe 25 started rubbing me down. The session lasted about 90 minutes, same as the Massage Palace, but at half the price. Massage was probably better here, but there is no privacy, so no chance of extras. That was of no concern to me as I really only wanted a massage.

When it was over, I showered up and changed paid the bill and tipped the masseuse 100P. Everyone was happy, including me.

Sandman said he was going to be at the Dirty Duck around 4:00pm so headed there directly from the massage place. About the same crowd as the day before and Christy jumped into my lap as soon as I sat down. I had an iced tea and before it was finished the very friendly owner came over, introduced himself and bought me a drink. Everyone really is friendly here.

I think I paid Christy’s barfine at that point, but I wanted to go back to the hotel and check-in online. I was also running low on cash, so when I picked Christy up at about 6:00pm, I told her I needed to hit an ATM. We took a trike down Macarthur and three banks later (one was off-line, second was strictly local) I found a working ATM and took out enough cash to last me to the airport.

Sandman said he would be at Kokomo’s at 7:00pm for dinner and we arrived there just after him and Michelle. We had another decent dinner, cheap and ok and then we went over to the Owl’s Nest where Michelle worked. The place was quiet, and we ordered some drinks. All of a sudden, I was feeling really tired, probably due to the fact that I had only gotten 2 hours of sleep the night before. So I decided to head back to the hotel with Christy and we each took naps and got up at 10:00pm. This proved to be the wise choice, because I felt fully rested and was looking forward to hitting the town. We swung by Confetti’s and barfined Maria and Rosalinda and then swung by the Blue Nile to barfine Luiza. We then went upstairs to the Blue Nile Executive that was packed, so I asked about the VIP room and was told no problem. We entered the room and the hostess said it would be 5,000P ($90) but that included everything. You should have seen the girls’ faces when she said 5,000, but I said no problem, I had the cash, plus they took AMEX. Over the next four hours we had a great time, the girls really get into singing and I was really getting into drinking. The way it works actually is the minimum is 5,000P, so every time you order drinks they keep a running tab showing you how much more you need to order to hit the minimum. Plus, they gave us menus from Molly Malone’s and this counted towards the minimum. The hostess was great running drinks back and forth from the bar, plus we had an attendant to help us with the Karaoke selections (although the girls figured it out pretty fast).

It almost became a game every time a round was ordered to see how much closer we were to 5,000P. We finally hit the magic 5,000P at about 3:00am, and then I paid the bill and tipped the hostess and technician 500P each. We then headed back to the Orchid and upstairs for a little fun. It was a flurry of showers and BBBJ and DFK and then a wild ride with Luiza and the two sisters Christy and Maria with Rosalinda hiding in the corner of the room. At about 5:00am I told the girls it was time to go to sleep, so they all left except for number 1 wife Christy. I felt bad kicking them out, but couldn’t see them sleeping in chairs and the bed wasn’t big enough for three (three of them, yes, but not with me in the equation). Before sending them on their way I paid everyone 500P and gave them some souvenir photos from the Canon Card Printer and some boxes of chocolate. Everyone was happy.

Tuesday, January 20

I woke up at 9:00am and went downstairs. I needed to get in contact with the President Solitaire to let them know I was coming later as they were picking me up at the airport. I couldn’t seem to reach them via my new cell phone so I thought I’d try one of the business centers on Fields. I found one that was open and they were very helpful, but could not get the President Solitaire’s number to work. They insisted it was a wrong number, so I went online and showed them the number and they kept trying different combinations. Finally, I think when pressing 00 after the 66 it went through. I was able to change my pick-up time and let them know I would be checking in later than planned. No problem. Cost a whopping 500P!

I made my way back to the hotel and joined Christy, Michelle and Sandman for my last breakfast in AC. I then went upstairs and started to pack, not that I had that many things needing packing. My car to Manila was scheduled to pick me up at 3:00pm. Christy wanted to hang out with me until I left which was no problem. We had been talking about various hotels and she said the best hotel she had seen was the Maharajah Hotel (tel. 22371, 22372, 23681 and fax no 632-815-0756, 632-817-9742) right off Clark Air Base. I told her let’s take a run out there so I could see it for myself. So we hopped a trike and about 10 minutes later we were there – it’s a little past the Oasis Hotel. It’s really spread out; they call it a resort village and it’s nice how the rooms open onto the Olympic-size pool. We had drinks in the restaurant, which also overlooked the pool and then I asked to see a room. They showed me their biggest room (no suites) which had 2 king-sized beds and cost 1,400P ($25) a night. You could get a joining room and have four king-size beds and two bathrooms for the price of one room at the Orchid. It is a little off the beaten path, but I don’t need to be on top of the action and this place looks great for pool parties. I could see doubling the size of my entourage the next time.

We exited the hotel and a Jeepney driver offered his services. Ralph was the elderly driver’s name and I sat in the front and Christy in the back. It was more comfortable than a trike. Ralph gave me his cell number and said he was available for hire by the day at 150P per hour. He said he is based outside the Maharajah. We stopped by Christy’s residence so she could change clothes. I went upstairs with her, and it was a very sobering experience. There were two girls in her “room” and she slept there with her two sisters and one other girl. There was another room that was shared by 5 girls. And there was one bathroom for the 11 girls total. And not one bed in sight – they slept on the floor. Price: 500P a month. I felt bad kicking the girls out of the chairs – that was actually a step up. We then went down to Ralph and the Jeepney. Her sisters were texting me to see if they could join us for lunch. I said no problem and we headed back to the Orchid Inn and had lunch in the air-conditioned room in the front. The two sisters joined us quickly and hamburgers were ordered by all. I had some spaghetti and it was pretty good.

I went up front to settle my bill and everything was in order. I said goodbye to the girls, making them no promises as to when I’d be back. My bags were loaded into the car and Rey made his way towards Manila and the airport.

We made decent time and I was able to see the countryside that I had missed in the darkness on the trip down from Manila. I saw a lot of poverty and pollution during the 2½ hour trip to the airport. We arrived at 5:30pm, plenty early for the 7:30pm flight. Check-in took about 45 minutes as I have no status on Thai Air or Star Alliance, but they were very organized. I checked one bag, and then made my way through immigration and then security. I paid the 550Peso exit fee with a $10 bill and was on my way.

I walked all the way to the gate and then stopped at a combo newsstand/sandwich stand/bar. They had all these exotic drinks at cheap prices. I had a great pineapple shake for 50P and then two Singapore Slings @ 100P or $2 each. I had a nice buzz going when I passed through Thai Air’s security and sat down waiting for boarding. I entered the plane and took my aisle seat in the middle section. There was no one else in the row and the plane was only half full. I fell asleep before take-off. But the time I woke up, we were touching down in Bangkok. AC was now just a memory.

My thoughts on AC

I’m really glad that I tried AC. I found the girls there to be a lot of fun and they really went out of your way to please you. Overall their physical beauty is nowhere near that of their Thai counterparts, put they make up for it with effort and emphasis on having a good time. I also find them to be shyer than Thai girls and less sophisticated. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time there.

The other thing is price. AC is so damn cheap it is laughable. At 55P to the $1 it is an incredible value. But it is a third world country. I enjoy the sophistication of Bangkok and the great food and hotels. The food in AC is ranges from edible to good – nothing blew me away. The emphasis seems to be on quantity rather than quality. As far as the hotels, if they had something similar to the Omni Towers, I’d book there in a second. The Orchid Inn was fine. The staff was very pleasant and went out of their way to help me. As Porker said, it’s a great place to stay fro your first visit. The location let’s you get your bearings quickly. It’s like staying at the Presidente in San Jose, CR or Omni in Bangkok: great places to stay on your first trip, but once you have a feel for the layout you can branch out more.

Would I go again? It’s a question of allotting time. I still prefer Bangkok and I had a great time in Hong Kong, but AC has its own charm. I’ll probably try Cambodia before going back to AC, but again this is just because of time constraints. If I found myself with a lot of time on my hands, I’d book the next flight out to AC.

Superb recount-- especially the part about your snoring :-) ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Regarding the BBBJ tutorials you gave, how receptive were they at first? Did they perform well enough to make it worth the effort? I wrote off BBBJs the last time I was in town, but will definetely try to improve upon this the next go around via my selection methods.

As for the rest and comparisions-- they are dead on. I figure out of a 12 day trip to Thailand, AC will probably continue to get 3-4 days of it solely due to economics and the girls' attitude.

They were receptive because I wasn't too pushy: I let them know that it would really, really make me happy. The technique got better, so I guess it was worth the effort. I'd rather not have to teach them but the girls' attitudes are so great and at $18 bucks for the night, I can cut them some slack in that department.

Just got my first email from Christy - she's hard not to like.

And the economics are ridiculous. I love your entourage idea - I need to expand it next time. That way, you'll always have a couple of willing participants and if the rest want to hide in the background, that's ok too.

WS, an awesome start to another award winning report for sure. You really squeezed in alot of stuff during your short stay in AC. I'm impressed. I totally agree with your comparisons and preference for BKK. I absolutely love AC and its girls, but LOS can't be beat for the infrastructure, variety of p4p and sheer numbers of lookers.

As for Thai and Star Alliance, you should definitely try to get a status match as soon as possible using your CO elite. This is all the more true since you'll be traveling to SEA ASia alot (Thai even flys to Phnom Penh). Even if they only match you at silver, you still get an addn'l 25% bonus, plus better treatment. Thai Air/Star Alliance usually has lots of good fares throughout SEA and Asia.

Good to hear you're looking into Cambodia as well. I really think you'd like it. I think Blazers is there now, so it'll be interesting to hear his report.

BTW: Luisa & Maria, Luisa & Christy are hot. Very sexy girls.

Awesome report. You come across as a total class act and someone who knows how to enjoy the life. However, I can't believe you are going to blow the lid off the Hong Kong YMCA Kowloon secret! I hope you got one of the high corner rooms that looks overlook the harbor. I don't recall the exact prices (I think 100US a night) but I think a comparabel view in NY would be a 1000 a night.

By AndresB on Monday, February 02, 2004 - 08:32 pm:  Edit

I am amazed how shallow you guys are. These girls were sleeping on the floor, and doing this probably to take care of their parents. Man, I would be broken hearted.

Great stuff Wallstreet. I was busting a gut over you having three naked women in your room who were simply distracting you from a football game! ROTFLMAO.

BTW, I transferred twice at HK airport and I didn't have to leave the terminal and check in again, and I even had checked luggage. I wonder if it's because I wasn't changing airlines.

Anyway, REALLY looking forward to your chapter on HK.

Great report. I admit after having been to Philippines, I was a bit envious of your trip AND the fact that you got to hang with the infamous Sandman. I hear that lad likes to party?
Anyways - great report! Thanks for writing.

Surprised you picked the same group of girls two nights in a row. If you make another trip you should try bouncing around to more bars because there is some talent out there. You should also try a night in Makati/Manil as the talent there is much much higher and Manila has great restaurants, especially Chinese. Everyone laughs about my raving of Apartelle Royale and how big the Executive rooms are. You could put two of the Orchid room inside the Apartelle rooms and still have room. The Apartelle rooms have a large couch and two love seat type chairs. The living room part of the room could sleep 5 Filipinas easy and the bed is king size. You might not like lugging up two flights of stairs and not having room service but the room is ideal for sessions with multiple girls.

Wallstreet,

Another great report and just a start, I look forward to the next leg.

I have had many friends try to get me to AC, but I have limited holidays so do not want to risk second best. My feeling from the quality of girls I have seen in past reports, compared to ones I have had in LOS, was that it is not as good a place as BKK. Your experience backs this up. So I think I will put AC back to my retirement todo list.

WALLSTREET: I had been looking forward to this report for quite awhile now, and you did not in any way disappoint. AWESOME job, and please keep them coming. I really liked your pics of the street scenes, made me wanna be there! I know AC's full of dirt and grime and unpaved roads, but when I'm back here and not in Fantasy Land I actually miss that stuff!

Sounds like you really went all out in AC and enjoyed it to the max. Like you said, it's so cheap that it's really damned easy to say 'why the hell NOT' when there's a 4th cherry girl sitting around that wants to join the party. I gotta say that giving the cherry girl 500 pesos when you kicked her out sounds like it was of the 'money for nothing' variety, though!

AndresB would have been a humanitarian, tho, and sent them all home to the province after he paid his 18 bucks to liberate them from the bar... :-)

Blazers, your reviews of Apartelle Royal are not in any way laughed at -- they are quite informative and accurate, and you bring up a good point about the place that if you're throwing parties in your room every night that the $32 rooms at the AR provide plenty of space. It's a great hotel option in AC, but as you mention, there are things that you trade off for having a bargain on a VERY nice and BIG room.

The Orchid is a good option in almost every category, the biggest negative is price compared to other options, and $50 a night sounds like they have raised the price even higher. But when they're always booked solid, that's just good business, I guess.

WS, thanks for the GREAT report and the pics. Glad you had a good time.

By Wallstreet on Tuesday, February 03, 2004 - 07:07 am:  Edit

First off, thanks everyone for the kind words.

Merl, thanks for the Star Alliance Recommendation. My strategy is to take Northwest on my next trip (I bought a certificate to upgrade ANY published economy fare transpacific to WBC. This way I'll have OnePass Elite Status next year and enough miles for two BusinessFirst Roundtrips to Hong Kong. Then I'll ask for a status match, because by the end of the year I should have enough AMEX points to transfer into Star Alliance to get some upgrades. ANyway, that's my strategy for now.

Mongerx - that YMCA Kowloon was unreal. I paid $106 for a harbor view room and they upgraded me to a harbor view suite (931) I have some awesome pics that I'll post in the Hong Kong section of my report. That suite with a view of the Statue of Liberty in New York would cost 1,000 a night easy. Great, great value.

AndresB - I said it was sobering and had I known that they slept on the floor I would have let them sleep on the chairs in my room. Aren't you the same guy who took me to task for not "offering" to give Nat cough syrup as "a nice gesture" even though she didn't want any? And after I gave her a $300 cell phone also? I'd like to read one of your trip reports to see how you treat the girls, but suprisingly you haven't written any.

Mura - Hey - it was an important game!

I bet you're right - probably because you weren't changing airlines. I bought the tickets separately Newark to Hong Kong on Continental and Hong Kong to Manila on Cebu Pacific.

DG - yeah Sandman was great to hang out with - real laid back guy who enjoys life. Definately a good time was had by all.

Blazers, 1st I have to commend your reporting - it really helped me out a lot in getting a feel for the place. I would definately consider the the Apartelle - especially the large apartments (Executive) they have (only 3 if memory serves) I like space and in AC you really need space. I considered Manila but you can only do so many things in a week. And yeah, I could have found a different set of girls for another entourage, but I was having a great time with them so I gave 'em two nights worth of action. Time just flew there, otherwise I would have tried more bars.

WW - I'm glad I tried AC, but I think we have similar tastes and the same limited time - so Thailand gets the nod. Definately something to look forward to for retirement!

Porker - I had a great time - the place really has a charm to it, even if it's on the dirty side. As far as giving the Cherry Girl 500P, I felt sorry for her. She's clearly in the wrong business, just along for the ride with her two much more outgoing sisters. I had a great time and will be back eventually!

Hey, WS, here's something to think about if you haven't selected a Star Alliance partner yet. As you may know, the only Star Alliance FF partners working with Amex is Mexicana (MX) and All Nippon Airlines (ANA). That's one of the big reasons I'm w/ Mexicana. Also, Mx is generous with giving elite bonuses (i.e. silver 25%, gold 50%) and Biz bonuses when flying on other Star Alliance airlines such as Thai (ANA & United don't do that). I just heard that MX will be partnering with AA starting April, in lieu of their partnership with United which just expired. This is good news as American is a great airline to Tokyo & HK w/ a great FF program. Also, I just confirmed today w/ MX's CSR that they will continue on with Star Alliance (i.e. Thai etc.), with the exception of United. There seems to light at the end of this tunnel of confusion, but I think I'll stick w/ Mexicana, espc. since I can transfer Amex pts into either CO or MX at my discretion, which gives me incredible flexibility. Also, MX has flights into RIO and CR, and VARIG of course is a Star Alliance partner. Note however, that MX's customer service isn't the best, as many FF will tell you. But if you can put up with this, their flexibility in their FF program makes it all worthwile.

By Wallstreet on Wednesday, February 04, 2004 - 06:22 am:  Edit

Merlin - so if I understand your strategy correctly, you are using Mexicana as a "holding company". Whenever you fly with Star Alliance airlines, you have the elite status miles credited to your Mexicana account. So most of your flying is done with Star Alliance partners, but all of your miles are credited to Mexicana.

Sort of like flying Continental and KLM exclusively, but having all the miles credited to your NorthWest WOrld Perks account. And you do this because Mexicana is the best of the Star Alliance for upgrades and reward travel, as well as the AMEX points transfer. Am I on the right track here?

By Merlin on Wednesday, February 04, 2004 - 08:11 am:  Edit

Right WS, "holding company" is a good description. I find it imp't not to waste those star alliance miles and bonuses by being w/just Continental. Also, bear in mind that Mx can't upgrade on Thai or other airlines (only Mx flights), but MX did get me 3 Biz class tx to LOS on Thai so far for 90K miles each tx, which is not too bad considering most of those points came from Amex bonus pts. Gotta book waaay early though.

Also, I actually do fly Mexicana alot to Mexico, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Costa Rica, 1x RIO. Give it a good look and call them. And let me know if there is a better strategy.

By Wallstreet on Wednesday, February 04, 2004 - 08:43 am:  Edit

Here's the strategy I'm trying for my May trip. I just purchased a Northwest certificate on ebay for $333 that allows you to upgrade ANY fare from the US to Asia. No blackouts, no restrictions other than you can't fly out of Detriot or Minneapolis.

You can get a NWA flight from JFK-BKK for $798 r/t (Q fare). If this indeed works, you get a WBC seat for $1,100 and no miles. I'll get over 40,000 miles (including bonuses) on just one flight. 120,000 miles = BF free ticket to Asia.

It's all contingent on the validity of the certficate. I've been following the certificates on ebay for over a year - the guy I bought from is based in Minneapolis and has sold 6 Transpacific and 6 Transatlantic certificates in the past 3 months - he gets an average of $325 each. I'll get the certifcate in the mail shortly, then I'll try to book - certficate expires Sept 26, 2004 so if they don't have flights that work out, I can resell the cert. on ebay. (plus I paid for it with my AMEX - more points!

I'll let everyone know how it worked out.

Read your report with great interest as I will soon be following in your footsteps and staying in AC for the first time. It pains me to take 12 days out of my stay in Thailand to travel to PI. In fact I am so leary about doing so that I am not going to check out of my room at dynasty Inn in Pattaya in case I am like size 15 and bail after one or two days. Seems you liked it OK but not as much as Thailand. I hate giving up the advantage of being able to speak Thai when I leave LOS.

Does not seem like forming a relationship is the problem with the AC girls-- just the opposite. I will have the advantage of being on the " Epi Train " as well.

Agree with your observation about LOS bars. Very few will buy you a drink. The only go go that ever did so for me was King II in Patpong because I am still very tight with the mamasan there. In my heydey I dropped mega baht there but not recently. One trip my steady barfine from there had her 21st Birthday and I ran up about 18,000 baht in ladydrinks etc. That was with several bottles of Black opened besides. The whole bar got drunk that night. The next year they actually gave me a birthday party because I was there for my b-day. Had decorated cake and everything. Mamasan still remembers the old days though and buys about 1 out of 4 drinks for me. I of course have to buy her drinks as well-- evens out. There was one bar in Soi Zero-- cannot remember the name--- second bar on right. The owner was from LA-- he was very generous andbought many drinks. Many of the ex pats sitting around would buy you drinks as well. Very friendly place. Actually had a hard time drinking down drinks bought before another round came from somewhere. Totally unusual for BKK for sure.
Cannot wait for next installment. Great report thus far . Thanks

KM,

I think you will have a good time in AC - but here's 3 things that I think you should consider:

1. AC is a (relatively) small place. If you are only staying in AC, personally, I think 12 days is a very long time (for someone like you or me) 12 days is a blink of the eye for Porker.

2. I know you enjoy the great hotels that Bangkok has to offer. You will be sorely disappointed in the amenties (or lack thereof) in AC.

3. Although I really didn't have difficulty in communicating, I think you will constantly be questioning why you are giving up your "homefield" advantage of being able to speak Thai and spending that much time in AC.

I think you'll have a good time if you let yourself have a good time. But for my money (and time) AC falls short of Bangkok at every turn - except maybe for the naturally sweet disposition of the girls.

I'm finishing up the Bangkok portion right now. I had a similar, though not as costly situation as you. Nueng's 20th B-day was the day after mine. We went to her bar, AngelWitch, thankfully at 1:15am for "one or two" drinks.

4,000 baht later in ladydrinks, no one was happier than me to see the lights come on at 2:00am. Of course then it was on to the next place. And I had a great time.

By Merlin on Thursday, February 05, 2004 - 10:21 pm:  Edit

KM, I agree w/ WS about AC being a small town. As much as I love AC and the wonderful girls, 12 days seems like alot. AC is such a small town, you'll often keep bumping into BGs and other punters. And once one of the BGs lays claim to you at the go-go, look out, you need to avoid the place. I was running out of go-gos to go to by the end of my week there.

You may want to squeeze in Manila. Most guys don't like Manila b/c it's a hell of a lot more expensive w/ terrible traffic, but I actually liked it and had a good time. I thought the girls in Manila were a bit prettier and a bit more plentiful. Definitely a lot more things to do (even some massages) and some very nice, classy hotels.

Hey buddy. Well done on the report. Glad your B-Day in BKK turned out well.

Sure enjoyed meeting you and hanging out with you while in AC.

Guys, WS is a total class act and a good guy to hobby with. Just get your expectations set that he likes em 3-4 at a time....insatiable bastard...he he he!

Hope to see you down south some day!

Ciao

A truly excellent post. However, I have a bone to pick with the lot of you. The Asia forum has degenerated into a corrupting influence on those of us who have never sampled the pleasures of the far east.

Wall Street, you took a lot of time and great care to get all this down. A tip of the hat to you. Thanks for the pix too, although not sexually oriented, they give those of us that live vicariously an idea of the place. The one in the barbershop is priceless.

BTW, one of the reasons you missed picking that all-star football game IS because you "really pay attention to injuries, streaks, weather." That stuff has nothing to do with it. DON'T GET ME STARTED...

By Gregorio on Sunday, February 08, 2004 - 07:32 am:  Edit

Forgot to mention, you obviously had a better locale for your 40th birthday than me. I spent mine in Nuevo Laredo. Ain't it funny how time slips away...
