Here are some notes from my recent trip to Frankfurt:

Last year, I somehow lucked into purchasing a roundtrip LAX-GIG ticket on American Airlines for $395 (including taxes) on Travelocity (around the Memorial Day long weekend). My unbelievable luck got even better when AA overbooked my return flight and bumped me (and trust me, I didn’t mind being "stranded" in Rio for an extra day!). I got a $400 transportation voucher (good for a year) and a business class return trip out of that mishap. Thank you, AA.

As a resident of So Cal, my favorite vacation destination is Thailand. (Well, I love Rio and Angeles City, too.) My sense of adventure got the best of me, encouraged by recent reports/news about Frankfurt's FKK scene, especially the two trip reports by Wallstreet (who I have concluded has an excellent taste). So, I decided to go check it out for myself – a 1-day trip to Atlantis from Los Angeles!

Air: Roundtrip fare from LAX to FRA (via Dallas/Ft. Worth) was $512 on American Airlines. Less the $400 voucher, my net cost was $112.

I left home at 6:00 a.m. Friday morning for an 8:10 a.m. flight to DFW. Terminal 4 at LAX was a zoo at 6:30 a.m. Boarding had already started by the time I arrived at the gate. Approximately 2.5 hours to DFW on a Boeing 767.

After a two hour layover, hopped on a Boeing 777 bound for FRA. The 777's have a 2x5x2 seat configuration. All the aisle seats next to the window seats (B's and H's) were full, with an occupant in the adjacent window seat, of course. The center aisle seats (C's and G's) were mostly full, too, but the center seats (D's, E's, and F's) were mostly empty. On the DFW-FRA leg I had the "G" seats with no one to my left, and was able to get a good sleep. Arrived in FRA around 7:30 a.m.

Immigration was a breeze. First foreign country I’ve visited where I didn’t have to fill out any sort of paperwork. Awesome.

Hotel: I stayed at the Sheraton, right across from Terminal A. My employer has a special arrangement with Sheraton, and I got a room on the top floor (9th) for 120 euros. (I was told the rack rate was 200-300 euros). Free breakfast (excellent) and booze at the 9th floor lounge. I checked in around 8:00 a.m., took a short nap and shower, and headed out to get the car around noon.

Car Rental: I used Travelocity to reserve a compact car for 44 euros (plus about 15 euros for taxes, etc.) at Payless (= Sixt). I was given a free upgrade from a VW Golf to a Mercedez A Klasse with a navigation system. Since the only German words I know are "Guten Tag" and "Danke," I didn't bother with the navigation system. The car I got was brand spanking new – its odometer read 8 km !

Currency: I used my Bank of America ATM card to pull out 300 euros. (Later I discovered the exchange rate was approximately $1.27/euro – not too bad.) I thought I'd need a little extra, so checked out 3 cambios. They were all quoting $1.3855/euro! Plus a 2% commission (and 8 euro minimum)! Yikes! One of the clerks at Sixt offered to exchange some cash on my behalf at one of the cambios (no 2% commission). I exchanged $200 and got 144.35 euros. I gave the very helpful clerk 4.35 euros as a tip.

Getting There: I left the airport around 1:00 p.m. I followed the turn-by-turn directions provided in WickedWilly’s March 2003 report and had no problem finding Atlantis. I think the A661/B521 may be a shorter route, but WickedWilly’s route is all autobahn (I think) until you get off at the B521 junction.

(I was a little concerned about driving back at night, but that wasn't a problem. After getting back on A45 heading south, I just followed the airport sign.)

I was a little hungry, so I stopped by Wallstreet's Doner Kebab place and had a sandwich and Coke for 5 euros. I finally arrived at Atlantis around 2:30 p.m.

I stayed at the club until 10:00 p.m. The facilities have been described in details in other reports, so I will omit them.

When I arrived, there were about 20-25 girls; at around 7:00 p.m., I think the number peaked at around 50. As it was Saturday, I had expected more.

Overall, I was mildly disappointed in quality. As I hung out near the bar area and was there for quite a bit of time, I'm sure I didn't miss anyone. Most of the girls were, I'd surmise, in the 22-30 age group; some of them were obviously over 30. I'd also rate most of them around 5-7 in the looks department (at least in my books). There were about 3 girls I would've rated at 8, but they were all incredibly tall (6 feet), and my taste is in spinners. I talked to girls (either in English or Spanish) from Romania, Bulgaria, Hungry, Belgium, Greece, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, etc. The funny thing was that I was at the club for 3-4 hours and still hadn't met a German girl (except for the extremely nice and helpful girls working at the bar). I finally asked a German gentleman about that and he pointed out 2-3 in the crowd. Needless to say, no knowledge of German is required here.

I met and talked with an ex-pat who lives and works near Frankfurt. It was also his first trip to Atlantis and it didn’t seem like he was too impressed with the talent either. He mentioned that he had visited FKK-Palace a couple of weeks earlier and he had a lot of good things to say about that club.

I left Atlantis around 10:00 p.m. and headed back to the hotel. (Oh yeah, I did have some fun with a Romanian named Nicolette, a Brazilian (a carioca no less) named Monica, and a 6-foot tall Lithuanian named Diana or Deana. I think I got my life-time blonde fix.) Got back to the airport around 11:00 p.m., turned in the car, had a couple of glasses of wine at the 9th floor lounge, then hit the bed. I had a 10:30 a.m. flight the next day (Sunday) and arrived in LA around 6:00 p.m.

Bottom line – If I happened to be in Europe, I’d visit again. But given the distance from So Cal and the strength of Euro, I don't think I'd be planning a return trip any time soon. For me, I'd place Frankfurt in the category of Macau or Singapore – a fun place to drop by if I happened to be in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.

Just when I was planning my next itinerary to include Macau, I see that you included this city in the category of Singapore and Frankfurt. :-) I know we have similar tastes (spinners) and experiences, but I'd be curious about your views of Macau in light of your LOS, RIO and AC experiences. I'd be curious about expenses and quality relative to your other trips. Thanks. Merl.

I visited Macau last September and stayed at Hotel Lisboa. I'll say this: To date, no place I've visited (in LOS, PI, Rio, or anywhere) comes close to Macau (specifically, Hotel Lisboa) in terms of the quantity and quality of hot spinners. And it's 24/7 action. Whether it's 4 a.m., 8 a.m., or noon, you will find hotties looking to hook up. I was blown away.

The reason Macau doesn't make my "A" list is because everything revolves around ST action. (I know some of you might actually prefer that, but I'm a fan of LT luvin'.) The girls who work at Hotel Lisboa, for instance, are prohibited from leaving the hotel. Also, there isn't much to do in Macau other than "meeting girls" and gambling, and I'm not into gambling.

If I found myself in Hong Kong with a few hours of free time, I'd be on the next turbojet to Macau (about an hour each way). But I can't see myself spending more than 2-3 days in Macau.

One of my buddies went to Macau around Thanksgiving based on my recommedation and his experience was similar to mine. (One thing he did that I didn't do was dropping $5K in 2 nights playing blackjack. Ouch. He also thought he'd get seasick on the turbojet so he went for the HK$1000 chopper ride.)

The ST cost at Hotel Lisboa is HK$500 (around US$65). There is action outside Hotel Lisboa: "girlie" hotels about 20-30 minute walk from Hotel Lisboa, for HK$300; Russian babes for HK$1000; and MP's. Check out Murasaki's detailed report on those venues. I was in transit to LOS and spent only 1 day in Macau, so I didn't partake.

Since it appears that you've been to most of the venues in SEA, I'd recommend that you go check it out for yourself. Probably the thing to do is allocate 3 days or so for both Hong Kong and Macau. Meanwhile, I'm working on how to best use your excellent report on Cambodia.

Hey, thanks for the detailed response. Sorry to sidetrack your great Frankfurt report with the Macau questions. Your description of Macau matches the intel I've been getting about girls approaching you on the streets, in the lobbies, at the stores, etc. I've decided to check this place out after all since the negatives you describe really don't bother me at all -- I could gamble for days without sleep, I love ST sampling sessions vs. clingy girls, and the ST costs are about right.

Let me know if you need any info on Cambodia as I'm infatuated by the place these days :-)

Thank you for your report. I like your sense of adventure in doing a same-day trip almost half way across the globe, and I can see that you are an organized person who pulled it off just right.

I am so sorry that Atlantis was not up to par. I have read quite a few reports now about how bad it has been for the last month or so. One of the biggest problems with FKK clubs is variability in quality as girls (who are not employees) come and go.

Although I prefer FKK World to Atlantis, I found that in terms of the number of top girls (8 and above), Atlantis was the best when I visited. I am a very conservative grader (along the grading scale OneWolf posted in his Sao Paulo report some time ago), so 8 is really 8. What you are describing is definitely worse than what I have seen.

As for the newly reopened FKK Palace, the reports seem to be mixed. I suspect it is going to be a good club after some initial glitches.

I am impressed with your dedication to our hobby, Southern California to Germany for the day is one hell of a trip. Was sorry though the quality was down, I too tend to be conservative in grading and am fussy, so your ratings would be well below what I have experienced, I hope it is not a trend downwards.

I will be going to Prague as a change from the FKK's this week, hope I have made the right decision.

Damn. I thought my long weekend trips to Europe of 4 or 5 days was something to write home about but I can't imagine going to Europe for only 1 night! Wow.

I was disappointed with my first FKK experience. Keep in mind the selection was decent and if I haven't been all over the world and the termas of Rio I wouldn't have been so down on it but I found them to be quite expensive, the selection wasn't that good, and the girls tended to be older.

I was in Nuremberg and not Frankfurt but after my experience I wouldn't travel across the world just to hit an FKK. If you want to hobby with a model hot girl it would be cheaper to pick up the phone and visit www.eros.com and see a GFE hottie in your city.

Europe is very expensive right now. Still, FKK's seem to be the place to go if you happen to be in Germany on vacation or for business. I wouldn't plan a trip to go there like I would for Rio.

JMHO, but the FKK's can't compare to the termas or other action I've found in other places. If you want a model hot girl and you're in Europe I'd recommend Lugano, Switzerland as there are hot girls from all over Brazil, Hungary, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia.

First off - great name. Second YOU ARE INSANE (I mean this in a good way) to go from the West Coast to Frankfurt for the day. "I'm going to Frankfurt. For the day." Does have a nice ring to it.

I'm really sorry that Atlantis wasn't up to par. I, too have been reading with dismay that the quality seems to be going down. When I first went in October, my jaw dropped while checking in at reception. I had never seen so many beautiful women in one room at one time. And in December it was very good, but a notch or two below October. I wonder what's going on?

I also had Diana, the 6fter from Lithuania - I remember having a great session with her. Also glad you liked the Doner Kebab place.

The exchange rate is stopping me from making anymore weekend trips there for now - too many other destinations available for better value.

Again, congratulations on a great report and my hat is off to you for making that trip.

First, let me say that I had a great time at Atlantis, even though the quality may not have been up to par that Saturday night. Well, that sort of stuff happens. The girls working at the bar were great as were the several German guys, and the ex-pat dude, that I hung out with. I spent 7-8 continuous hours there and I can tell you time just flew by.

On my return trip to the U.S., the customs agent at DFW couldn't believe that I had gone to Frankfurt for 1 day to "visit friends." He sent me to a "special place" where a couple of agents proceeded to dump everything out of my carry-on and comb through my belongings for good 30 minutes. Thank God I didn't have any left-over raincoats and lubricants like I usually do when I return from a SEA trip !!! That could've been (kinda) embarrassing.

I went back to work Monday and put in a couple of 11-hour work days. At 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, however, I was on an EVA Air flight to Manila (via Taipei). This time, I spent 3 whole days in AC. My next vacation is in May, and I'm sincerely hoping that would be a "regular size" (if not "super-sized") vacation.

Call me crazy, but remember, all of you guys are my inspiration.

Let me join the chorus - great moniker and crazy mind.LA to Atlantis and back in 1 day - wow. After 10 hours in an FKK I can barely get back to my car - never mind LA.
Luck of the draw and I get to fly to Germany 3-4 times a month and also get to use Frankfurt airport as my main international transfer hub, so I FKK 2-3 times a month.I haven't done the So.America scene, but Euro per Euro, Germany offers best mongering opportunities in W. Europe...Atlantis has hit a serious snag with personnel, but Oase and World the other 2 main FKK clubs in the FRA area have nicer facilities and at least of late, better variety and choice of women. So don't give up yet.You sound like an adventurer after my own heart so ping next time you're this side of the lake, and we'll give you the royal tour,,,

Unless someone flies me there for free (e.g., business trip), I doubt I'll be visiting Europe anytime soon. (But if I do, I'll ping ya.) LOS, PI, and Rio pretty much do it for me. I do have my eyes on Cambodia and Argentina, though. So many places to go, so little time !

Nice report, but let me add my 2 cents to justify Frankfurt's reputation.

I know Frankfurt is not Rio nor Bkk or Budapest,
but it is sort of all melted together at one place.
In my view - Frankfurt is better than you described.

You just did did not have the time to explore enough.
There are other Fkk places as you know, that provide better service and selection that Atlantis ever did.
But besides that, Frankfurt offers much more than the "out of town" FKK locations.
Just have a look at the "Bahnhof" area with all those 8 story "love hotels", packed with talents from ALL over the world.
And with little efforts you can take those sweeties with you (to Hotel or Swinger clubs etc).

Just the international selection makes Frankfurt a trip well worth.

For example:
you want to spend time with a sexy Thai talent? No problem for very "little" in Frankfurt available 24/7 for less than US$50.00 !

Want to dive into hot south amercian/latino mentality ? No problem - for same "small" bucks in Frankfurt: hundreds of Brasilians/Cuban/Domenican etc etc !

You prefer Eastern Europeans like Russians/Ungarian etc?
No problem for even less in Frankfurt !

Like it have it even cheaper and a little darker?
Check out the "African = Higher floors" - in Frankfurt - 23/7 (lol) !

The only thing what may be hard to find in entire Germany and even Frankfurt is an "affordable" and willing German talent - most of them have their noses way up and are way to much Pros !

Maybe next time we can may meet and I am glad to show you a different Frankfurt ;-)
