Daytime in AC is spent in various ways. If you still have your BF from the night before (and most likely you will), an early morning session is generally followed by a hearty breakfast, watching a little TV, sitting by the pool (if you have one…and the girls love em), maybe a little shopping (any you can find almost anything…cheap), sitting in open air or enclosed bars, people watching, playing pool or bar games, checking e-mails and generally passing time until the nights festivities begin.

One day, one of the Orchid owners put together a Perimiter bar hop. There were about 15 participants. We all hopped in a mini bus, started at one of the farthest bars out on Perimiter and slowly worked our way back to Fields. We each threw in 1,000P for drinks (lady drinks were the individuals responsibility) and one tab was kept for the entire group (we had about 3,000P left at the end of the day which was donated to the orphanage the Orchid supports). To say the places were overwhelmed when we walked in would be an understatement. It was more like a mad scramble. There was lots of groping in each bar and a lot of investigation on future potential bar fines was taking place. Poor old Tootsie Roll got surrounded by 7 girls at one place and they were putting the pressure on for lady drinks. A bunch of us were laughing our asses off at him as he was smothered in lady flesh and very few parts of his body did not have hands exploring. Several of us threw in 100P to promote the purchase of lady drinks just to continue to watch the spectacle. Yeah, this guy isn't going to mess around too much….he he he! (saw him walk out of his room the next morning with two in tow)

One day, WS and I and the girls decided to go to the SM/Robinsons mall on the main road to Manila. We hired a Taxi for 500P RT plus wait time. The driver recommended the SM side of the mall saying the Robinsons side was more expensive. My sweetie was looking for some black jeans and WS was looking for a Cell phone. This mall is very upscale and except for the ever present dual language advertisements, you would never know you were not in a suburban mall in the US. I thought the prices were quite reasonable. A Big Mac value meal with drink and fries was just under $2.50. My girl found a bathing suit on sale for $126P (about $2.50). She also found a pair of black jeans but refused to buy them saying they were too expensive at P790. I told her she could have them if she wanted but she still refused. We left and asked the driver to take us to the Savers Mall on McArthur. This seems to be where most locals shop and the prices are definitely much better. I told my girl she had a P790 budget. She managed two pairs of jeans, three tops and another bathing suit. Total was P820. She actually reached in her pocket and dragged out the 30P difference. I was going to cover the difference but it seemed like she wanted to stick to her budget so I let her. Interesting experience. This is also a great place to buy DVD's. They work out to just under $2.00 US apiece. I bought a lot more……. I now have about 25 movies in English with Tagalog, Thai and several other subtitle languages.

WallStreet got a great deal on a used cell phone with a local Sim card. He was also able to take it to Thailand with him and get a local Sim there. No questions about residency, citizenship, documents, bribes or anything. Just plopped his money down and walked away with a working phone. Seems to contradict previous posts about buying cell phones in the P.I.???

Speaking of cell phones, all the girls have them. Very few have any minutes or what they refer to locally as "Load". They are masters at text messaging and their fingers can type out a message at incredible speed. My girl had just sent a cell phone to her mom in another city. They were TM'ing each other all hours of the day and night. I finally made a rule that after 9:00PM and before 9:00AM, no more TM's. She bought some Load and put me on the phone with her mom, dad, brother and sister. Her dad is 8 years younger than me and her mom many years under that (34`with a 21 year old son…You do the math). I was concerned they would be upset with the age difference. They did not seem to mind at all. M was 19. Had a boy friend that got her drunk at 13, popped her cherry, got her pregnant. She had a kid at 14. At 19 she has a 5 year old. Father of the child is nowhere to be found and she provides full support. (I heard very similar versions of this story many times while there) Sends money every two weeks to her family. Father is a farmer and fisherman. Actually got arrested and spent three months in jail for fishing with dynamite…he he he!

The water buffalo story came up one day but in a different version. Theirs had not died, she just wanted to buy him another one for the farm. She did not ask me for a contribution, just that it was her goal to buy her dad another one. I was fully expecting to be hit up for a significant portion but she never asked for a dime. In fact, after the second day, except her daily barfine, she never asked for a dime and didn't seem to be pressing for a tip (although she got a nice one at the end of my stay).

I think I discovered the reason one day when we were in her bar before it opened. I asked her if she would show me where the girls slept. Without hesitation, she took me by the hand and led me upstairs. I saw a bank of small 2X2 lockers where each girl kept their personal possessions and two rows of wooden slatted cots covered with grass mats. They were pushed together without space in between them. 27 of them lined in two rows. No wonder they are delighted to sleep in a bed with a mattress, have a private shower, toilet, TV etc. PS..They are not fond of air conditioning in the room. Without exception, every girl I brought to my room asked for the AC to be turned down or off completely.) There were girls sleeping, changing clothes, taking showers in an open shower stall with two heads, putting on make-up. It was as if I didn't even exist as they went about getting ready to go to work. These girls work 7 days per week and are given off 4 days per month during their period. Many will still work but just will not BF unless the client insists….but they make sure the client knows they are having their period and usually do not fuck them.

I decided to BF her again that night and go to dinner and bar hopping. Obviously, she was delighted to not have to dance. She ordered an average cost meal and took half of it back to her best friend at the Owls Nest (a cherry girl). This happened three times over the course of a week. The bar feeds them but usually only some rice with some veggies and a little meat. To have a decent meal is very special. ( Pizza is highly prized). I offered her friend a lady drink and you would have thought I gave her a new bicycle for Christmas. I guess it is kind of a badge of honor to be taken off the dance runway and be able to sit with a customer. She wasn't real cute and I gather she doesn't get many lady drinks (and doesn't BF except to bar hop, which I doubt happens often based upon her competition).

Bar hopping with your BF is a lot of fun. They know the places they want to go to, where they have friends, know the manager or mamasan or where happy hour specials are being offered. I was constantly amazed at how thrifty M was with my money. She was spending it like it was hers, kept me from over tipping (actually chastised me once for leaving a 20P tip..grabbed it, handed it to me and would only let me leave the coin change), steered me away from the rip off places and took me to the locals restaurants and other places that had the best deals. Except for one time, she always refused a 50P trike and chose the 4P bus for transportation. She loved the pool at Orchid and would make a glass of iced tea last an hour or two (she didn't drink alcoholic beverages….cheap date).

I now had two pairs of panties hanging in my bathroom and a couple changes of clothes. She had basically moved in and staked her claim. I was able to send her home during the day and hang with my new friends. Two of the Aussies with regular GF's would send them to wash clothes, run errands or just go away for several hours while we played. I am sure they knew what was going on and never showed a sign of jealousy, sat quietly when they were there and basically obeyed the guys like little puppies. They had a good thing. Regular monthly support and 3-4 times per year visits. They sure were not going to blow that gravy train. We managed our fair share of afternoon delights. I even sent my girl to her bar a couple of nights to wait on me while I was with my new buddies partying. She didn't seem to mind although she did give me a funny look one night when she smelled another girls perfume on the pillow. I convinced her it was one of the many colognes I had in my DOP kit, although, I didn't really feel the need to make excuses. Just keeping the peace.

One night, I left her sleeping, went out and BF'ined a little cutie I had seen, got a room at another local motel, left her sleeping and went back to M. She just snuggled up next to me when I got in under the sheets. In fact, when sleeping, rarely did she not have her legs draped and entwined in mine, her arms on my chest, her face nestled in my neck and her body pressed so closely next to mine that if she got any closer, she would have been on the other side…..!

Speaking of money, I never had a problem exchanging dollars at very good rates or getting money out of the ATM's at the banks on McArthur…..10,000P at a time. I did try to open an account based on one of the reports on the board. I was armed with credit reports, bank references, passport copies and photos, police reports etc. (See Yahoo Groups/livinginthephillipines). It is full of useful information on living in the PI for Ex Pats). The manager of the branch told me I had to have an ACR (Alien Certificate of Registration). When I inquired where one could be obtained she directed me to Immigration at Clark. My sweetie and I hopped in a cab and went out to Clark. At first the guy took us to the main airport where we were re-directed to another building. The line was about 500 deep of people trying to get a Visa or a passport. A huge sign outside said, "daily Visas and passports were limited to the first 500". I wasn't about to wait to see if I was in the right place and just pushed my way around the line and went right to the front. Afterall, I was the biggest guy in the place and a gringo to boot…he he. The guy told me this was immigration and I needed to go to the consulate in another part of town. We managed to find the place and upon entering were informed the only place to get an ACR is at the consulate in Manila. So, if you are interested in opening a Bank account in the P.I., make sure you stop at the consulate in Manila first and get this very necessary documentation. Also, be well armed with the other necessary documents. It isn't as easy as walking into a branch bank in the US, plopping down cash and opening an account.

Bars-We hit most of them but found ourselves gravitating back frequently to the Dirty Duck (It's a small bar with good AC and a party atmosphere.), Owls Nest when M was with me, Las Vegas across from Orchid (there was a stunner there but she had a pretty regular BF with an asian guy) and a few others. One afternoon, I was chatting with the mamasan at Dirty Duck and told her we needed to have a Brazilian Bikini night at the Duck. With the bar competition and ever present need for creative ideas to lure in customers, she jumped on the idea. We agreed to having it the next day at 5:00PM. Within an hour, they had signs made, the marquee outside was complete and the door girls were touting the next days festivities. I arrived the next day at around 4:00PM with a bag full of Brazilian bikinis. None of the girls wanted T-backs. Refused to even try them on. WallStreet looked on with amusement at the feeding frenzy over the bikinis. They would only take the modified backs and were constantly tugging on them to try and cover more. A lot of guys had come in to see the spectacle but the lack of enthusiasm on the girls part quickly doused the revelry of the event. My deal was they had to put them on, let me take photos, dance in them for at least an hour and they could keep the bikinis.

Photos: Dirty Duck Bikini Contest 24 25 26

Only had about 10 takers out of nearly 25-30 girls (but somehow, about 20 bikinis had disappeared…he he). Also, after the photos and 1-2 dances, they quickly changed back to their regular full sized bikinis. At least the manager was buying me drinks…all I wanted. My glass was never empty. WS made one of his quick finds with the door girl and disappeared back to his room. Saw him later that night with 2-3 more in tow. It became his modus operandi. Guy is an animal!

Also discovered an interesting dynamic. If you want to BF a girl and she does not want to go with you, she can refuse. I was trying to BF Ms. Character and she declined. I had a stunned look on my face. I asked the mamasan if she could refuse and she acknowledged she could. I looked over at her and her friend, the one who had been with me the night before. She was holding her hands apart and making a circle with her fingers. Guess I was a little larger than they liked. The well hung brothers would have problems here with the small pussies.

Modesty-Even though these are working girls, they are basically very modest. While dancing, they are tugging on their outfits to cover body parts. Oh sure, some places have them showering, wet T-shirt contests are frequent, see through tops and bottoms are prevalent in many bars, groping is commonplace, many outfits leave little to the imagination and in many places, they change into their street clothes in the open bar. At the opposite end of the compendium, they will take showers in your room with their panties on, wear panties under their bathing suits to prevent exposure of their slits, would rather swim in one piece suits over bikinis (unless it is an event or party), beg for a T shirt to sleep in at night. I made fun of my girl one night after a particularly spectacular session. I mean, here we had just fucked each others brains out and she puts on a pair of her panties to take a shower? I started laughing and asked her if she saw anything funny about it. I mean, I had just had her totally naked for a couple of hours, had my hands and mouth all over her (as she had me) and here she is in the shower with a pair of panties….? Her response was, "I a shy girl." The irony of it just made me laugh!

Take Out Disco-A very upscale place that has an entry fee of P50. Even though it is less than $1.00, it seems to keep the seedier elements out. It is an upscale club, three stories high and on weekends has live music. It also seems to be a place that offers bragging rights to the girls with their friends. M must have told the story a dozen times or more to the other girls at the Owls Nest. The band that was playing there one night was nothing short of spectacular. Two male and one female singer, taking requests from the audience and had an incredible range of songs and types of music they could perform. In fact, in three hours one night, they never denied a single request. Their vocal ranges spanned several octaves and it was apparent they had rehearsed and mixed the songs on many occasions. Again, a great place to take a BF bar hopping and the entertainment is excellent.

I did manage to get a haircut and manicure while there. M took be in a back room at her bar and the lady who does manicures for the bar girls did my nails. The gay guy who cuts their hair also had a little shop there (combined maybe 5X10 but they did have a small TV. It was funny to watch the girls in their regular daytime routines. I paid $1 for the manicure and $2 for the haircut (not the best in the world but thank goodness hair grows out. "Just a trim" has a whole different meaning in AC. Shortest my hair has been in years!)

After 7 days in AC, it was time to head to LOS. M wanted to go to the airport with me. At first, I was hesitant. It was going to be tough enough leaving her knowing I would never see her again. I fully expected tears (which came in buckets at the airport). She was fully entwined with me all the way to the airport. Sniffles, hugs, tender kisses and lengthy embraces were only interrupted by the policeman that stopped our driver. The policeman was claiming the drivers license our driver produced, had expired. Our driver kept arguing that it was current and kept pointing to the expiration date (10/12/2004). The cop took him to the back of the car. Our driver finally returned and muttered 500P. The cop had originally wanted 3,000P but settled on 500P. Seems we got pulled because I was a tourist and the cop had seen me at a stop light. I covered 300P of the bribe in my drivers tip. Pissed me off a little but I guess it is just a part of the culture and a means for extra income for the police. The driver was really pissed. I asked why he didn't get his name and badge number and turn him in. The driver said if he did that, he would be unmercifully harassed by every cop in Manila for the rest of his life and possibly disappear. I got the message quickly. Pay em and move on about your business.

Parting was tough and M wanted all kinds of promises to return. She asked me to set her up a free e-mail account on Hotmail. She was clutching me and every time I moved to leave, she grabbed me tighter. I finally had to insist because I didn't want to miss my plane. Her face was drenched in tears, eyes red and puffy. I made no promises. Only that I would try to return someday. Who knows??

Leaving Manila airport is pure chaos. They are ill equipped to handle the volume of people at the ticket counters, security, immigration, the restaurants or the gates. Boarding by row assignment is non existent (even business and first class rarely gets priority). People begin lining up to board irrespective of where they are seated. Most have 2-3-4 or more carry on's and you know overhead space is going to be at a premium. It is a crush to get to your seat and beware stopping to put things in the overhead. People will actually be crawling over you to get to their seat. Thai airways is otherwise a very delightful experience and the flight attendants are very easy on the eyes.

Anecdote:

-Rice Belly's-Most of the girls in AC suffer from the Rice Belly syndrome. I began to ponder this phenomenon and compared it to the flat bellies of the Thai girls. I came to a couple of conclusions (which could be totally wrong). The Flips diet consists mainly of Rice, potatoes, a few vegetables and some occasional meat. The Thai girls, although rice is a staple as are soups and noodles, eat more fruit, vegetables, chicken, fish and other protein in their diet. The Thai girls also exercise more by walking a lot and generally at a faster pace whereas the flips tend to ride busses or walk very slowly.

-Girls and Stunners in AC-(This is just MHO and everybody's taste are different)-I did not see many and they were usually already LT BFined. Most of the real pretty ones were Cherry Girls. Most of the working girls had kids; very few had more than an A or B cup; very few were seen in public braless and the bras were generally way over padded; Most had serious dental problems (God Father, you would not be a happy camper here). They were clean and often took 2-3 showers per day but still suffered from stinky pussies. I think it was Blazers or Epi who said he would stick his finger in and put it up to their nose…..good plan that gets the message across. Most looked way better in their costumes than street clothes. Most overused the pancake make-up or make up in general. Many had horrible scars and pock marked faces from poor diets, not enough protein or chewing on sugar cane as kids (which added to their dental issues). Maybe one out of 100 had more than a B cup. Oh, many were perky with pointy nipples but an abundance had saggy tits from nursing children. You do not see a lot of silicone although I did see a couple. Boob jobs cost a whopping $800 in the PI.

Availability-Anyone, any size, shape, color, age, nationality, race, religion, irrespective of any handicaps, scars, deformities, abnormalities can get laid in AC. It is cheap, they tend to prefer LT and it can really be difficult to get rid of them in the morning. They will stay as long as you want and you can get in as many sessions as you can rise to. One note on race: There were a lot of brothers in town and the girls did not have any problems being with them. The girls do frequently use the "N" word instead of the more PC "black, Afro-American, brothers etc." or other preferred references. I think this is probably an old holdover from the Clark AFB days. I tried to explain to M that "N" is not a good reference and the brothers would be offended if she used it with them. She did not really seem to understand but agreed to refrain from using the word…if she could remember!

Most everyone you see is available. Dancers, waitresses, door girls, mamasans even Cherry Girls (just not for penetrating sex unless you are willing to pay the price to pop it…which can be high. I heard one quote of 50,000P). Many of the girls working in stores will meet you for sex as well. One girl at SM mall on McArthur propositioned me while M was trying on jeans. Another winked at me and beckoned me with her cell phone.

Language-Most people speak English. With some of the newer girls it was quite basic and it was very apparent they had little formal education (3rd-5th grade is about the norm). Most of the bars, restaurants and hotels are owned by Ex. Pats. Aussies, Kiwis, English, some Americans and other European businessmen. They tend to hire English speaking employees and cater to the English speaking tourists. You will not have any problems communicating in public. You may experience problems communicating in your room.

Overall observations-As a mongering destination for pure availability, price, ease of acquisition etc, AC is a great destination. Getting there is quite a chore from the east coast and arrival at Manila airport is a true experience, especially getting your luggage! As has been mentioned, it is definitely third world (which does not bother me), streets are shitty, busses and trikes spew black smoke, it is hot, dusty and poverty is openly apparent. Bar row is an easy walk and getting places is very cheap if you take transportation. Also, I noticed hundreds of situations where adults were picking head lice out of their kids hair. Be cautious where you put your head.

Sex-(again, just MHO)-Somewhat uninspiring, somewhat lackluster, not exactly enthusiastic (unless you BF a girl and spend a lot of time with her…then it gets better). It's kind of like, "Ok, you want to fuck me, hurry up so we can watch TV, bar hop, go to a disco, eat something or go someplace" "Ok, I want to stay in your room so fuck me as many times as you want but please don't kick me out" There was little initiation on their part and for the most part just straight sex. They prefer the lights out, want to pull up the covers or sheets, hide their faces when you look, cover their bodies when not in the act and in general, do not seem to be enjoying the event. I am sure it must get old and some of the guys who have regular girls there are probably getting their eyeballs fucked out. I know M just kept getting better and better. The girls are generally pretty affectionate about holding hands or having your arm around them in public and private. It may be more of a "he belongs to me so keep your distance" kind of thing than true affection. While sleeping, they tend to be like an octopus and all over you. They tend to be overly modest, which is probably a combination of their catholic upbringing and the stigma of being a working girl in the first place. Many have become accustomed to taking their clothes off at public events like wet T shirt contests but quickly cover up after the venue and prizes are awarded. I would err on the side to say there was a lack of variety. One bar looked like the next. Line-ups all looked the same, just different costumes or outfits. Music was pretty much similar from bar to bar, ….loud, rock and roll, hip hop and dancers merely shuffling with uninspired looks on their faces.

All in all, it was a fun experience, never lacking in opportunities, very affordable and quite the distraction from the norm. I would probably not make it a regular personal destination. The travel time to get there (23+hours flying and 5+ hours making transfers) was not worth the experience. If I lived on the West Coast, Hawaii, Aust. or NZ, maybe it would be a different matter. You could do some interesting long weekends for a quick fix of sex with 18-25 year old girls at very affordable prices.

On to LOS…

My limited experiences in the Philippines led me to much the same conclusions about Flips.

Looking forward to the Thai segment

Funny but your anecdote looks like an exact replica of my statements about the place in my guide. You even use the same references like"rice belly"...had me cracking up. It would be tough for us to party together because we would be likely vying for the same girls. I hope my guide and other reports by people on this board helped prepare you for this trip. I think your opinion about Filipinas would change slightly on another trip considering you spent almost the entire trip with one girl. Many guys do this in the PI and I am not one of those guys but to each his own. I was very suprised you stayed with the same girl and the same bars because it doesn't sound like your personality judging by other reports.
-With regards to the bank account. They never asked me for any documents from immigration, only where I was staying. I suggest you open up an account with PCI Equitable as you can use the ATM in the US as well.
-With regards to cell phones. I dont remember anyone stating that you need documents for cell phones in the PI...only in Cambodia.

Glad you had an opportunity to try another place out....I will be making the opposite journey as I am contemplating sticking to the Western Hemisphere for a while and making a comparison.

Sandman, very detailed and thoughtful analysis, and I really liked what you had to say. Thanks for the write-up, and as others have said, can't wait for the Thailand version!

Blazers, I am most guilty of "honorably copying" your references to rice bellies as I thought that was the standard vernacular (like garota in Br.)

Your other observations are right on as well. I was purposely keeping a lower than normal profile and someday may share it with you.

The bank account-I specifically wanted an account with a PI bank. Maybe another bank would not have required the documents...who knows???

Did I not read that someone in AC had to bribe a guy to get a local cell phone?? Maybe it was Cambodia! I was thinking of going there and may have had my info mixed up...happens with age and loss of bodily fluid....he he he

If you ever make it to Rio, look me up....

Sandman, once again, you're spot on with the observations. I especially agree with the "fuck me many times, but don't kick me out" thing. I mentioned before, that one gal wouldn't leave my room, busy watching the tv, even when I told her that another gal was coming in 15 minutes.
An excellent perspective and insight into the PI. BTW, I think you read the cellphone thing from my TR, b/c in Cambodia, you need to dole out some green to get a local phone number if you're not a local. BTW, I'm set to go to Colombia soon, hopefully squeeze it in between a fishing trip to CR with some budddies. I found your TRs and guide to Cartagena very useful.
