MINI GUIDE
Preface: I have put this guide together quickly as some brothers are traveling to Prague soon. I will add to it in the next few weeks. If anyone has any further information or corrections please let me know and I will update accordingly.
Prague is a beautiful city, well worth a visit in its own right, but is also probably the best destination for hobbying in Europe (arguably) . This mini guide does not cover the tourist part, there are plenty of guidebooks that cover that. I will cover the main areas of concern for hobbying.
1. Transportation
a) From the airport (About 30 minutes)
Bus: The airport is linked to the city by a regular service run by CSA which you get from immediately outside the arrivals building. A timetable is available from the airport information office. It arrives at the CSA Vltava terminal in Revolunni Street. Ticket price is very small. Alternatively there is a bus No 119 to Metro Dejvicka on Line A, this stops more, is further outside the city and takes longer.
Taxi: If you want the convenience of a taxi arrange it before you leave, taxis are rip off in Prague.
b) Around town
Walking is easy in the centre and in Spring-Autumn is a nice way to see the city.
METRO: Along with trams, by far the best way to get around. Prague’s network of Metro and Trams is excellent. The service is good, cheap and covers most of the city.
Be careful Metros are not always easy to spot, look for and inverted triangle with the letter M in it. Tram stops are all over the city. A link to a map of both systems that prints out well is below, as is a link to the metro only map:-
http://world.nycmetro.org/eu/cz/praguemap.html
http://www.dpp.cz/download/schema-metra-v-praze.pdf
There are three lines of which A is the most useful. Staying near a metro is a good policy.
Line A (Green) - running east to west from Skalka to Dejvická
Line B (Yellow) - running east to west from Černý most to Zličín
Line C (Red) - running north to south from Nádraží Holešovice to Háje
There are three transfer stations in the city center where two lines intersect:
Můstek (lower end of Wenceslas Square) - lines A and B
Muzeum (upper end of Wenceslas Square) - lines A and C
Florenc (main bus station) - lines B and C
These are transfer points from one line to another. Each transfer route is clearly marked and takes some 3-5 minutes.
Trains run from 5 a.m. till midnight in 2-3 min. intervals during peak hours and in 4-10 min. intervals in the off hours.
Tickets are issued on an “honour” system. You buy the ticket, but it is not valid until it is stamped with the date and time (meaning you can buy in advance). To validate the ticket just insert it in one of the machines that seem to be at the top of the escalators that take you down to the platforms. You can then use it for as long as the period you purchased. The ticket may be interchangeable between Metro and Tram too. You can see the price is very reasonable - a day costing under $3.
Single ticket (for one use/short ride)
Adults: 8 Kč, children 6-15 years: 4 Kč, children under 6: free
This ticket can only be used one time on one type of transportation and does not permit transfers. It is valid for 15 minutes from validation on trams and buses or 4 stations on the metro, allowing transfers between metro stations for up to 30 min. of total time of use. This ticket is not valid on night trams and buses and on the Petřín funicular.
Transfer ticket (for multiple use/long ride)
Adults: 12 Kč, children 6-15 years: 6 Kč, children under 6: free
This ticket can be used on any type of public transportation and allows transfers between lines (metro to metro, tram to tram, etc.) and types of transport (metro to tram, tram to bus, etc.) for up to 60 min. from validation (90 min. on weekends/holidays and from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays).
Value Tickets (recommended)
24-hour pass: 70 Kč
3-day pass: 200 Kč
7-day pass: 250 Kč
15-day pass: 280 Kč
Useful dictionary:
eskalátor - escalator
linka (A, B, C) - line (A, B, C)
metro - metro
přestup - transfer
stanice metra - metro station
trasa - route
vstup - entrance
výstup - exit
TRAMS: use a similar system of payment and cover a huge area. Daytime trams run from 4:30 a.m. till midnight in 8-10 min. intervals (8-15 min. on weekends). Night trams (numbers 51-58) run from 00:30 a.m. till 4:30 a.m. in 40 min. intervals.
Trams 22 and 23
Trams 22 and 23 follow one of Prague's most scenic routes, passing by the National Theater to Staroměstská and Malostranská metro stations, and continuing up to the Belveder, Prague Castle and Pohořelec, with some stunning views on the way.
Nostalgic Tram no. 91
The Nostalgic Tram no. 91 (nostalgická linka č. 91) is a historic tram that runs on weekends and holidays from the end of March through mid-November. The tram leaves from Vozovna Střešovice every hour from 12:00 noon till 6 p.m. and continues through the city center. The ticket costs 25 Kč for adults, 10 Kč for children and seniors over 70.
TAXI: Avoid if possible, even with the meter on, the chances are you are being ripped off as they have variable rate meters. Never let a taxi take you to a club, nor take his advice on one. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. At night it may be necessary to take a taxi, the following companies are recommended by others.
AAA Taxis
City Taxi (257 257 257 can responds to sms)
If you find a good driver it may be a good idea to get his number and look after him.
2. Accomodation
Where you stay depends on what is your primary activity. Generally I would stay in the Old Town, Northern New Town or Vinohrady areas, which I believe are in the Praha 1 and 2 districts. As the transport system is so good during the day, it is best to stay near where you will be playing at night. If tourism is your main activity stick to Praha 1 probably near the Mustek or Muzeum Metros, if K5 is your tipple, then staying near the Namesti Miru Metro is a good location (good for tourists areas too). If Privats are your priority stay in Vinohrady near Flora or Jiriho z Podebrad Metros. Flora is perfectly situated and is also near the Dessert Agency Club (5 minuts walk).
a) Hotels
There are many international hotels in Prague and smaller ones called Pensions. There are many agencies on the web, so just do some searches. Prices are not that cheap, especially in high season, a couple of links I found useful are below. The second is a reasonably prices pension that has internet access in some rooms; a real plus point. Shop around though, the time will save you money.
Tip! Check if the place you like accepts visitors, not all hotels are guest friendly or charge for the privilege.
http://www.talkingcities.co.uk/prague_hotels/lodging_cheap.htm
http://www.abaka.com/Czech/Brezina/
b) Apartments
These give you guaranteed girl friendly accommodation and usually bigger and cheaper places to stay. They are probably a better bet for the hobbyist who wants to keep some discretion. I have used Mary’s as commented on in my report and they were excellent in every way. They also arrange transfers, mobile phones and other bookings and will give good advice for free. The others I came across in my research.

http://www.apartments.prague.st/
http://www.pragueexperience.com/accommodation/apartments.asp
C) Bed & girl
Some Escort agencies allow you to stay at there place. Maya-escort do this and their place is very nice. Mila Escort also do the same. There links are shown below:-
www.maya-escort.cz
http://www.mila-escort.de/frame_hallo_e.htm
You can also stay at the Ariadne club, you do not have to take a girl here and might be worth a look.
http://www.ariadneclub.com/defaulten.php
3. Money
Cheque currency is the Crown and there are 100 Hellars to the Crown. Even when The Czech Republic joins the EEC in May they will not take up the Euro. Euros are acceptable though in many places including some agencies.
There are plenty of Bureau de Change in the centre and many ATM’s so withdrawing or changing money should not be a problem. The larger hotels also have change facilities.
Credit cards are accepted especially in the tourist areas, but Agencies and clubs as well as Privats usually only accept cash. K5 do accept credit cards and it is discretely billed.
4. Weather
Warm to hot in Summer, bloody cold in Winter, see link for more up-to-date info.
http://weather.cnn.com/weather/forecast.jsp?locCode=LKPR
5. Hobbying
There is a wide spectrum of places to hobby in Prague, Streetwalkers (who are usually ugly, dangerous and should be avoided, I will comment no more); Privats, which are a bit like an up market walk up that contain one or more girls; Lower end agencies who provide both short and long term escorts; High end agencies who usually specialize in longer term escorts who are better looking; Clubs, some put on shows, some are just rooms full of girls, some provide escorts as well. All have room on site for you to take a girl and lastly the Sex Park a small red light district with a bar, peer show area and Amsterdam-like kiosks.
There are many resources for research. The most extensive is http://www.escort.cz/
But beware there is a lot of false and out of date info here and some of the photos really disguise a lot of flaws. It is very useful nonetheless and essential viewing.

a) Privats
There are hundreds of Privats all over Prague, the centre seems to be in the Vinohrady district in Praha 2. These are basically apartments with working girls. The charges range from 1,000 to 2,000 per hour for the standard which is Oral with condom and classic sex. Usually other services are available and are charged at 500Kr per service.
The problem with Privats is finding them and then it is hit and miss on the quality of girl and service. This is where a Czech mobile is vital. Some have better looking girls like Privat Sarah, but there the service may be not so good and one pop only not the hour and all extras will be charged.
Tip! Make a list of Privats from Escort.cz and print out the map.
Tip! When you ring expect to be answered in Czech. Have a pen, paper and map handy, speak slowly and ask for the address of their Privat. There is a good chance they do not speak English, if so try your next one, if they speak some, try to write down what they say and ask them to spell it. Then, ask for the name on the bell THIS IS VITAL. Try to find the address on the map while they are there if you can.
Tip! Some Privats will not let you in before you telephone so take your Czech mobile.
Tip! If you cannot get them to speak English or find the address on a map use your mobile to ring them while you are with a taxi and let him talk to them direct. Do not forget the warnings on taxis!
Recommended Privats
Maya escort www.maya-escort.cz Praha 6 very near Dejvicka Metro. Quality girls, nice place price includes BBBJ, CIM, kissing, Reverse oral (if girl provides service) for a bargain 2,000 Kr ($77).
Milas escort http://www.mila-escort.de/frame_hallo_e.htm Prague 9, district Klanovice, Slavetinska 764. Girls not up to Mayas standards, but similar service for 2,100 ($80)
Privat Sarah http://www.escort.cz/v03/result_e.php?FID=49&Lng=2&Edn=2&Sch=5 Apartments near Flora Metro. Good looking girls, but variable service, a few trophy fucks here. 1,800 Kr ($69) for covered BJ and classic sex all extras 500 ($19). One pop not by the hour!
Privat Harmonie/Saten http://www.escort.cz/v03/result_e.php?FNam=harmonie&Lng=2&Edn=2&Sch=5&Fsr=Rnd&Ppg=10&FS=0&Fsn=888353879&Fnr=1&FID=465 . One flat on Korunni near Flora or Jiriho z Podebrad Metros. Good value at 1,400 Kr($54) for an hour of standard service, these girls make a little more effort.
Good luck with Privats there are some real gems to be had and great value, but it is hit and miss. I have a spreadsheet with some cheaper Privats including the girls if anyone would like to look at it.
b) Lower-end Agencies
Take a look at the following site, there are numerous agencies that provide escorts by the hour or longer. Warning! You may have a problem with “Bait and Switch” where they say a girl is available and another turns up. Unless she is worth it and does the services you provide send her away, do not be provoked!
http://www.privat-escort.com
Ignore the vouchers they would not accept them form me. Expect to pay 2,000 ($77) for standard hourly service up to 3,000 Kr ($115) where you should get some extras included.
Another lower end agency is Dessert, these provide girls for 2,000 KR($77) per hour with unlimited pops and kissing and BBBJ. The quality of girls is average, but service is safe.
http://praguesexguide.cz/main.php
Tip! Be clear on the phone about which girl you want and what services you require.
c) Higher-end Agencies
These should provide you with quality girls and service, you should get what you order and will usually only go with you for a longer period. I will include Maya-Escort in this category, but there list of girls is more limited. Expect to pay at least 12,500 KR ($480) for 6 hours or more. See there web sites for details pricing is clear and the photos of the girls good. Mayas is an exception at 10,000 Kr ($385) per night
www.eliagency.com
www.prague-bunnies.com
www.maya-escort.cz
http://www.aaatravelconsult.com/
Tip! Avoid Tereza a Klára and Krystina Escort, many punters have warned against the unreliability of these agencies
d) Clubs
There are many clubs in Prague, some are strip joints, others just have girls, rooms and the occasional pole dance, others offer full shows or luxury facilities, like pools, saunas and Jacuzzis. The will give my impressions of those I have experience with below, but you can look at the entire list on Escort.cz.
Tip! Print off the discount voucher where applicable before you go, the discounts are honoured in my experience in the clubs.
Most visitors to Prague agree that the best club in Prague is the K5 Relax Club. I heartily agree with this. It is run professionally, has great rooms, a better class of girl and there is no rush. . Due to the interest expressed about K5 I have written a little more about it.
It is located very near the Namesti Miru Metro, at Korunni 5 Praha 2. Just find the start of Korunni from the Metro and it is about 200 meters on the left. You will see the signs go to that building, but note the entrance is on Korunni, just past the turn where you see the sign.
http://www.k5relax.cz/
The best way to describe K5 is to take you through an evening there. You are screened by some of the biggest bouncers I have ever seen, before taking a lift to the main floor. On arrival you are asked if you have been before, if not, you are given a tour of the place by an attractive lady who will speak English. You pay 500 Kr ($19) if you are not sure you want a girl, but can waive this if you wish and pay on exit, if you do not eventually take a girl. You will then be shown to a seat.
K5 has a small main area. As you enter you will see a bar and in front of this is covered with girls. A lot of these may disappoint you, do not worry, there are others not on view. I understand the club usually has 40-60 girls available. There is a small stage with a pole, that each girls takes turns at dancing, do not expect spectacular dances, most are not good. The rest of the area is seating. You will be asked for your choice of drink, which are not expensive for a club of this type and you are safe, you will not be ripped off here. After a while a manager with excellent English will ask if they can help you find a girl, there is no pressure or rush, tell them your preferences and they will recommend. From my experience they give good advice. You also have another excellent aid. Under the table there is a flat panel screen with all the girls on it. It contains pictures and info and is very useful. The manager will tell you if they are in and explain any pros or cons for that girl in detail. There are some stunners here, I picked three to look at and all were present. I found the photos made the most of the girls, but where a very good indication.
Once you choose a girl, you can ask the manager to get her to dance for you, or come over to see if you gel. You are under no pressure to take this girl to a room; you can chat for a good while to see if you like her. If she does not suit, just tell the manager and continue your search. You do not have to buy the girls drinks and I have never had any pressure to do so. If you do they will not take advantage. If you like the girl, you can spend as long as you want talking, again no pressure to take a room, but as that is why you are there you probably will. You will be shown on the screen a selection of rooms, yes you choose. The basic, which is still very nice and individually themed, cost 3,900 Kr ($150) for an hour, other are more spacious and have Jacuzzis or saunas. This includes sex and BBJ. If you are lucky you may get more, if you want more, ask the manager for girls who do extras. The key is to ask for what you want; customer service is high on the agenda here. You also have the choice of drinking at the cocktail bar or having some food, I believe they have a restaurant now too. I ate the first time I was there, before the restaurant and the food was good and reasonable.
Once your session is over you can return to one of the areas and continue to talk to the girl. On my two experiences here, the first time I spent 1 hour pre-chat, 1 hour room and three hours post chat. Last time I chatted for 90 minutes before sessioning, then one hour after.
You pay on the way out and you can pay by card. It will not be a cheap experience, but K5 is geared up to providing excellent service, in nice surrounding with girls who are more classier than other places in Prague. If you want to have a good chance of finding an 8+, in a nice, unrushed environment,t without the worry of being ripped off, this is the place to go.
Pink Dolly and Viagra Prague: Two clubs from the same stable. Prices for girls and drinks are reasonable as can be seen by following the link below. I have only used Pink Dolly and was a little disappointed. A small cavern type club, with quite nice rooms but I did not see one girl I would rate above a 7. OK girls, but not stunners. They quickly introduce themselves then sit altogether, some staring hoping for your attention. Service in the room was adequate, but not mind blowing.

http://www.escort.cz/v03/result_e.php?Lng=2&Edn=2&Sch=5&FID=60
Atlas: A larger club with bigger stage where girls dance a bit more enthusiastically and they have some reasonable shows. It is situated just off Wencleslas Square, three quarters of the way down on the right from the Mustek end. There is an entrance fee of 200 Kr ($8). It is geared towards the tourist trade, which is its downside as it can get very rowdy and is often full of stag (bachelor) parties. I did get hassled a little from the girls but nothing over the top. The rooms are nice and mine had Jacuzzi at no extra cost, cost is between Pink Dolly and K5. Worth a visit especially if it is not crowded. The girls vary, but there is the occasional gem, my session here was very good.
http://www.escort.cz/v03/result_e.php?Lng=2&Edn=2&Sch=5&Sex=F&FNam=Atlas&FS=0&Fsr=Rnd&Ppg=10&Fsn=1916971212&Fnr=1&FID=16
Ariadne: Just a little way from Wencleslas Square on Zitna, a smaller club, with communal area with small stage I have never seen used. You drink in the area with the girls and approach them. Drinks are reasonable, as is the cost of the girls. The service here was Ok but not inspiring, as was the choice of girls. I went here on my first trip and I think the facilities are better now. You can also stay here at reasonable rates, which could be interesting.
http://www.escort.cz/v03/result_e.php?CBTyp=1&Lng=2&Edn=2&Sch=5&Fsn=168104500&Fsr=Nam&Ppg=20&FS=12&Fnr=151&FID=20
www.ariadneclub.com
Goldfingers: I have no personal experience of this place, but I have heard good things about it. As far as I can make out the girls are top notch, but this is a lap dancing club, so the girls are not available. It is expensive, but I am told, good for what it is.
http://www.escort.cz/v03/result_e.php?CBTyp=1&Lng=2&Edn=2&Sch=5&Fsn=1957480651&Fsr=Nam&Ppg=100&FS=50&Fnr=151&FID=299
Desire: Again, I have no direct experience of this club, but I am told it is nice, with some good looking girls, but it is expensive on par with K5 or worse, and drinks can be a nightmare especially lady drinks. I also have heard it is not scam free, so if you try it out just be careful!
http://www.escort.cz/v03/result_e.php?CBTyp=1&Lng=2&Edn=2&Sch=5&Fsn=1957480651&Fsr=Nam&Ppg=100&FS=34&Fnr=151&FID=231
Tip! Clubs to avoid. Almost any club a taxi driver wants to take you will be a rip off, you will pay a heavy entrance fees and may well be scammed on drinks and girls. There are also some clubs run by “mafia” type of organizations, one I understand is Escade and should be avoided at all times.
e) Red Light
This is a small red light area, next to a market just over the river in the Holesovice District Praha 7. It is near Metro Vltavska, on line C, you can change at Florenc if you are not on that line or take trams 1, 3, 14, or 25 to stop Prazska. The complex opens at midday. It is basically a separate area with four main buildings:-
The Erotic Centre, which is a peep show centre, with private booths and some video booths as well. I think Entrance is 20 Kr (<$1) and strictly no cameras are allowed. If you have you it will have to be left at the entrance.
The Sex Park, which is a series of corridors with small booth serviced by one girl. The rooms are small with showers and the ladies stand at the door and you can talk briefly, if you wish. Not dissimilar to the RLD of Amsterdam. The going rate seems to be 1,000 Kr ($38) for 30 mins. There are not that many girls during the day and at any time quality is variable.
The Red Light Bar, a bar with a sexy theme. Can be interesting especially on Friday or Saturday or on a themed night (see their website), some of the waitresses are worth looking at.
The Erotic Shop, not been here but really just a sex shop I think.
The whole place is not that great, but worth a visit and you may be lucky in the Sex Park. It can be fun in the bar, especially if you are in a group.
http://www.redlight.cz/index.php?chlang=1&PHPSESSID=bb392a6b0e2c84303370c0d8a1120e28
f) Discos/bars: I have tried the salsa clubs and it hard even to get a dance as everyone seems to go in couples or groups. I am told there are pickings in discos and would appreciate any information to add to this guide.
6. Food and Drink
Prague is not famed for it cuisine, but you can find some good, especially wholesome food. The beer is superb, particularly in my opinion the darker beers. Both are also very good value for money, especially if you eat or drink outside the tourist areas and eat local dishes. Take time to enjoy this part of Prague.
I would recommend trying a Czech meat platter which includes some fine duck and ham as well as different types of dumplings. Sausages are also good.
Pastries are also very good and sold all over the place and they are also incredibly cheap.
At night, especially in the tourist areas you can get hot dogs, sausages, burgers and pizzas off the many street stalls around. These are also incredibly cheap and great at 3am in the morning!
I tried the restaurant below, if you like Latin music it is good and seems to be a chic place to be.
La Bodeguita del Medio, Kaprova 15 (just off old town square)

EXCELLENT info. I'll check it out later this weekend when I have more time. It will be VERY useful when I go to Prague next month. Kick Stand had to back out so I'll be flying solo but that won't really stop me from doing anything I would have done anyway.
I'm there 5 days so that is a while. I plan on doing a LOT of sightseeing and a LOT of different types of places. Your report will help out quite a bit. Thanks for taking the time to post this excellent information. It's what these sites are all about.
By Wickedwilly on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 - 11:20 pm: Edit |
Godfather,
It is a pleasure, my early hobbying visits would not have been possible without information from others, so I am just returning the favour. If you need any other info, just mail me .
It is a shame Kick Stand cannot join you, you will have a great time, but I am sure it would be better with company.
You will love the city, you seem to enjoy to Europe and not just for our hobby. I look forward to reading your thoughts on it. I have just returned from Paris, a non-hobby trip and concur with your thoughts on the this city.
I hope to return to Prague soon, probably just a quick return flight. I would like to try a day session with a couple of the Mayas girls. I might even make May, so let me know when you will be there.

Wow! Excellent guide. Thanks.
