My first trip to LOS was a two week adventure which began on Feb. 1, 04 with a midnight flight on EVA, LAX-BKK. I was lucky enough to have the help of a couple of Thai buddies who would be in BKK at the same time I was. These guys were an incredible asset. They helped me with hotels, airport pickups, entertainment, etc. With their assistance, I was able to pack alot of quality activity into the two weeks I was there and I saw parts of BKK which not to many westerners ever get to.
My trip consisted of three days in Bangkok, followed by three days in Chiang Mai, four days in Phuket and four more days in Bangkok. While mongering was a top objective of my stay, it was not the only focus of my trip as I was interested in absorbing as much of the culture as I could during my short time. I am close to age fifty, and one chick a day is usually plenty for me. I've read other reports here of guys screwing all day and night with dozens of different babes, and thats great, but I knew if I tried it I would burn myself out too fast.
Even though I tried to pace myself as much as I could I was still pretty spent by the time I returned to BKK for my last four days.
Prior to my trip I read as much Thai related information off this board as possible and it was an immense help in adding to the total enjoyment of my experience. Most of the information in this report has been covered by the many LOS vets here. I hope my small contribution will help someone elses first visit be as good as mine was. I recall that someone wrote that a visit to LOS could change your life if you went with an open mind not full of outrageous expectations. This is one monger whose life has been changed.
I entered LOS as a ten year TJ vet. I live in San Diego have been hitting the zona and revo clubs especially hard for the last five years, (a monger with a Sentri pass is a dangerous thing). AB bar has been a favorite of mine over the years, but the new measuring stick in my mongering career will now be LOS and some of the massage/bar-restaurant-karaoke complexes I visited.
I left LOS with a new found respect for the Thai people, their culture and even Buddhist thought. It has been about a month since I got back and my mind is still flooded with memories of the beautiful women, friendly people, great food, etc. I plan to return often.
