This is not really going to be a true trip report as much as a few thoughts in terms of comparing Angeles City to LOS and some random other musings.

Since I once proclaimed my retirement from mongering I should not be submitting a trip report. However as the title indicates I seem to be in the process of multiple retirements-- ala George Foreman , and now Roger Clemons. If I only had their compensation for un retiring it would make more sense. Here's my story and I'm sticking to it -------

I was truly looking forward to this trip as I had heard so much about AC and it's attractions-- mainly cheap barfines and GFE's.It has been almost 2 years since my last real mongering trip since I had been exclusively with Da the last 3 trips to LOS. As most know I found out that Da had been seeing at least one other farang when I was not in LOS and I got pissed. I confronted her with the evidence and she admitted it was true. She told me the other guy was just for the money but her e mails to him sounded pretty sincere. I was not sure what to believe but she insisted over and over again that she truly loved me and the other guy meant nothing but a paycheck to her. Partly out of revenge- I decided to cancel my plans to see her again and made arrangements with Epi to hook up in Thailand and AC. Epi and I met in LA for dinner and sewed up our plans-- Epi had booked us tickets on Arab Air from BKK to Manila and brought me my ticket.

I as usual flew Thai Inter to BKK as I have my Thai agency that gets me 2K off first class fare on Thai. Uneventful flight as usual, slept all the way to Tokyo after a few glasses of wine, cognac and 30 mg of Ambien. Was awakened by the stew as we were landing at Narita. Missed the movie-- damn it !! Landed in BKK at 11:50 PM -- the big disadvantage of Thai- I hate coming in at night. Had made arrangements with Classroom go go in Pattaya to have 2 pooying meet me with taxi but they were nowhere to be found. I waited almost an hour and they never showed up. I was pissed off to say the least. Had to make last minute arrangement with one of the sleazes who prey on tourists for a ride to Pattaya. They all wanted 2,000 baht but I finally found a dude who agreed to 1,200. Turned out he had a fairly new Benz as well so I had a very nice ride .This dude hit 190 KPH on the tollway and we were in Pattaya in just over an hour. I have no idea what the police are for on the tollway as we raced past several police cars and he never slowed down. I think there is only one type of cop who writes traffic cites and if you know what their cars look like you can ignore the rest. Unless you are farang and driving-- then you are a target for every corrupt brown shirt to hit up for 200-500 baht for various imaginary offences.

Checked into Dynasty on Soi 13 with no problem.The room was smaller and darker than the room at Sandy Spring but very clean - new and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. No problems with guests and checked IDs only if I steered pooying to desk to do so. Could walk right past with no word spoken as well. With my wasted time in airport it was after 2AM when I finally hit Pattaya so I unpacked a bit and went to sleep. Next day hooked up with Epi and the fun began. He showed me every Mexican restaurant in Pattaya. I have been to Pattaya many times but have never eaten in any restaurant other than a few seafood places.I almost always eat at street vendors-- noodle soups, som tum,BBQ everything-- best food in LOS is on the streets. However I must say that Blue Parrot had decent imitation Nachos and Tequilla Reef had the most unusual Duck dish I have ever eaten. Blackened duck which is prepared in some way that you swear you are eating a steak. Tasted pretty good.

Later that night I believe we hit Classroom 2000 which has never been one of my favs but Epi had some unfinished business with the mamasan there. I latched on to a real cutie who had a full figure-- not overweight but unusually curvy for a Thai pooying. Had a great pair as well . I gave them a real workout while we were sitting there and I am sure she would have made a great partner for the night but it was still early and we had other plans. Epi wasted a great deal of time on a hottie who did the lesbian show there as well as a few other shows. She seemed to be into Epi but refused barfine after a lot Epi's usual attentions.A waitress there was really pissed at Epi for some prior transgression and gave him a ration of shit. He bought her a drink and later did a procto exam on his showgirl them stirred the waitresses' drink with his finger. The other service girls saw it and called her over to finish her drink -- which she did -- downing it all. A bit later they told her what Epi had done and it was really on then. She was pounding away at Epi and sceaming bloody murder while everyone else was rolling on the floor laughing. We had to get out of there before we were killed .

We made the usual barhop run- cannot remember all the go gos we hit but nothing great was around. Epi wanted to go to Nui's original club which is a bar filled with some quite nasty pooying. I had one attach herself to my crotch like a barnacle and would not let go. She was not unattractive and by that time of night that was good enough for me. Her attitude in the bar was great , but as sometimes happens when they get to the room another girl shows up. She was much more reserved and mechanical in her approach to sex.Cursory BBBJ and rolls over to lay there like her work was done. She might as well have been a blowup doll and it was very tough to get into anything with her. I gave her 1,000 baht and sent her home early.

The next day we hit Soi 6 with a newbie that Epi had met on his flight to LOS. This guy is on Soi 6 surrounded by pooying yelling out " you want blowjob " and being grabbed by multiple girls and dragged towards their bar and he seemed like he did not know what to do. After a lot of questions and coaxing he finally decided on a girl he liked and ventured off. We never saw him again-- I guess he finally got the idea of what to do. We went back to King Kong where Epi had seen something he was interested in and I had had my tonsils sucked out by a hard core babe when we first hit the street. My face sucker latched on to me again, but soon saw a regular customer walking up the street. She pushed me away like I did not exist and pretended she didn't know who I was when this dude walked up. They were inside in seconds. Epi had his pooying and I soon found a girl who intesested me. We went upstairs and it turns out we both had made bad choices. By far the worst time I have ever had on Soi 6. Again the girl was not really into what she was doing and nothing turns me off faster than basically masturbating into a non responding girl. I was done with her quickly and was surprised to see that Epi was also ditching his pooying at the same time. We left and my original tonsil girl was already back out front and wanted to know why I did not pick her-- seems she had a short memory or had her memory impaired by some chemical or other.

That night we did our usual bar hop and Epi barfined a chick from a bar I cannot remember. I decided to hit Happy a go-go partly because of all the bar beers which are on the path leading to Happy. As I was about to enter the bar I heard a girl shout out my name. I had no idea who it could be. I turned around and this short dark skinned spinner says-- Tom right ?? I said yeah. She said " It's me Lucky-- don't you remember me ?? " This was a girl I had barfined and spent some time with in Bangkok over 8 years ago !!! She was the first girl I had ever brought to Phuket and we kept in touch by mail for a few months but that was the last contact. Again it is absolutely incredible the memory these girls have. I never would have recognized her although when she said her name I obviously remembered who she was. She used to be one of the superstars at Rainbow II back in the day. Had THE most incredible body. We took a baht bus to Who knows where and were let into this club that looked like a warehouse from the outside.I was the only farang in sight but had no problems.A couple of Thai guys came over and asked if I was with all 4 of the girls as they were interested in them. I told them which one I was with and they were welcome to take their shot at the others. Two of them were smoking hot. One was actually a Khmer girl who had lived in Thailand for a long time. She was gorgeous. I do not know which bar if any she works as she was the one who came into Living Dolls to see Rak. The other hottie worked ar Paris. I had never been there but they had some good looking talent there. They dress in micro miniskirts with no panties so their dancing is quite interesting if you sit ringside. Anyway all the Thai dudes were shot down by my entourage. Not because they were in love with me-- the Thai guys were really lame. About 4AM we finally called it quits and I took Rak to Dynasty. I had to leave at 8AM to get to airport. Rak turned out to be a real nymphette. She was totally into sex. Wanted to take a shower with me which is damn unusual in LOS. The big shower at DI came in handy in this case. She inhaled my dick in the shower as a prelude of things to come. Took a taxi to domestic terminal and flew to Clarke on Sea Air. Quick very pleasant flight -- beats the hell out of 4 hours in traffic. Met by a shuttle at Clarke and checked in at Central Park Hotel. The room there was a lot smaller than what I wanted, so I also checked into Orchid Inn- I had reservations at both places. Epi had gotten the last premiere room at Central. The deluxe room at Orchin in Jasmine wing was much bigger and more to my liking. As I can travel only a limited time every year -- money is not really an object for me so I kept both rooms. I was planning on using Central park for daytime or shorttime use and sleeping at Orchid with LT girls.As it turned out I only used LT room.

We went barhopping that night and the first thing noticed was EVERY bar we passed -- all the hello girls knew EPI and shouted out his name. He was famous and known in every bar in AC it seemed.The bad part about barhopping with Epi here is he knows so many girls and it seemed the hottest ones - the ones I was interested in were all former BF's of his and were immediately attached to him.My other problem was selection of girls . As Epi will attest to I think at the end of my stay I had bought drinks for eight straight cherry girls.Two in one bar-- at Nero's-- I had two great service girls there. One a beauty the other had a smoking hot body--both turned out to be cherry.

Overall I never had the GFE that others have described in AC. Not that the girls were not sweet and affectionate. I did not consider it to be a GFE. In some ways it was almost pathetic the way most of the girls would hang on to you. You knew they would be the same with any other guy who came along and showed theem any affection.For me that is not a GFE it is like having a loyal puppy dog who never wants you to leave it's side. I never got that same feeling with Thai girls-- even the ones that said they liked you and wanted to stay with you , it seems more a genuine feeling not just a blind need to be loved.

I think if I was in a different frame of mind or at a different point in my life I would have enjoyed AC much more. If you are into fairly attractive girls who are eager to please you sexually-- ( hard not to like ) then AC is certainly a great place to be. You cannot beat the prices-- except in Cambodia of course. The hotels are not luxurious but certainly comfortable. The bars are actually much more fun that the go-gos in LOS. As I said when I was there , it is a lot like the Thailand go-gos used to be. The girls seem to have more fun amd there is more joking and playing around in the bars in AC as opposed to LOS. Zero pressure for lady drinks and the girls are truly grateful for anything you do for them. However, I do not know if I was feeling guilt or was just missing Da, but I never was able to get into the scene in AC . I was so not into it I think I even brought down Epi. He was missing Porker who was a much more enthusiastic partner than me. I could understand that for sure. I felt like an anchor dragging Epi down. We had also hooked up with Xenono . I first met Xen at the Sons of Bacchus event the second night we were there. Xen ended up surrounded by half of the dance team that impressed Epi so much with their creative uses of San Miguel bottles. Several emptied the bottles in unusual places- which immediately intrigued Epi. I had brought my previous nights BF to the event-- a fairly stupid thing to do-- so the girls had little use for me. They were quite attracted to Xen however-- must have been his nose. Xen and Epi were recieving BJs there in the bar while I was stuck with my yesterday girl. See how I am ?? I ditched her the next day and was met with about a hundred texts of variations of " See how you are ? " After that night we saw only short glimpses of Xen. He was involved in his own affairs and seemed more into solo barhopping. Xkansan we mostly met at breakfast each morning, then he would disappear to parts unknown.

I had exchanged several e mails and phone calls with Da and was getting more guilty about not being with her. I decided to return to LOS after about 6 days in AC. I did not want to go back on Camel Air at Midnight so I booked a nonstop on Thai for 2 PM. Took Sea Air back to Manila and was back on my way to LOS. I had left most of my luggage at DI in Pattaya so had to go back there first. After what should have been a mind blowing session with a robobabe from Living Dolls-- Rak was out sick and no response on cell phone-- I realized it was not that I was not into AC-- I was not into mongering. That made my decision for me , so I was quickly back in BKK and surprised Da with a phone call. I did not regret returning after that and the rest of my trip was much more satisfying and fun. I was back where I belonged and I knew it. Da convinced me she was telling the truth and as it turned out I came to know the other farang she had been seeing. He confirmed to me that she was all over him for money and was constantly hitting him up for cash. As she had never asked me for a baht I felt she was at lesat telling me the truth. Since I was not supporting her or sending her any money I could not be upset if she was trying to take care of her family however she could. If I was paying her monthly it would have been totally different situation. Anyway we had a great passionate reunion and spent 2 fantastic weeks together. It was very difficult to leave her and return to farangland. I gotta get a job at Bumrungrad !!!!

We spent a few days in Krabi-- so damn hot there it's incredible. The funny thing was --as hot as it got Da is walking around with a long sleeve hooded sweatshirt !!! Have a pic of her on beach with sweatshirt on-- it's classic Thai girl attitude.
" Glua dum"-- afraid of getting dark skin !!! Krabi was beautiful but too damn hot for both of us - so we came back to BKK 2 days early. Saw only a few beer bars there and a rare obvious freelancer-- mostly Euro backpacker types there in couples. No single men to speak of so no real demand for bar scene.

Amazingly I found I had taken no photos of any of the girls in AC or Pattaya !! I took lots of pics of Da , but I'm sure you are all sick of seeing her pics so I will not post any unless somone is interested in some new shots of her incredible face. Looks much better with a better camera. I took my Digital EOS rebel with me-- what a camera that is-- great pics.

The mamasan from Classroom 2 on Soi 2 - her name was Tik. I say "was" because she was drunk and driving a moto when she had an accident on March 19. She died 2 days later. Really sorry to hear about the Mamasan. She really lived an adventurous life and went out I guess in a party mode. Real shame-- drunk driving is a terrible problem in LOS and is in no way properly enforced by the Thai police. I have been in many a taxi where you could obviously smell the alcohol on the driver's breath. On rare occasion when he was driving erratically I have even bailed to get in a safer taxi.
The bars on Soi 6 all look the same to me. They certainly all offer the same thing. We probably would have done better at King Kong.

KM, thanks for the report, and it sounds like you're reporting the good with the bad throughout. As you mention, it sounds like you were in a bit of a funk most of the time you were in both Pattaya and the P.I., and had a diminished experience because of it. Am glad you found something more fulfilling and wound up with a happy ending.

I am sure Angeles isn't for everybody, starting out with the place pretty much being a DUMP. But the bargirls there are relatively innocent and playful compared to many other locations and there are a TON of them. They do get attached easily, but I'd give yourself a little more credit than just saying they latch on to every guy that buys them a drink.

My perspective upon first arrival in AC was coming from being a Tijuana addict, and it took all of 30 seconds of meeting some Filipinas at the airport to know that by comparison, TJ SUCKED! But the dyed in the wool Thai fans might be disappointed. Size 15 didn't last 12 hours in AC before heading back to Thailand, and I couldn't blame him, as vacation time is precious and he found out quickly that he far preferred Thailand. Personally I far prefer AC, but that may be influenced by the fact that it's cheaper and I'm on a strict budget and the prices in AC are much cheaper (and CHEAPER than Cambodia for all nighters, btw).

But I also got a far greater % of GFE in AC as well. Thai girls always seemed to ME to be more like traditional hookers, and short time is the norm. In AC asking for short time from some girls will result in their refusing to go with you.

This last trip was FILLED with girl after girl after girl after girl either asking for ST right up front, or making up some excuse (water buffalo, dead grandma, sore ass, etc) to get the hell out of the room. The Korean influence has already thrown that place out of balance.

My attitude was not 100% influenced by KMs longing for LoS. That place is getting OLD for me. When KM says we walked down the street and every bar had a girl that knew me he wasn't joking. Compare that to Soi 7 and 8 here in Pattaya. There are more girls on those TWO streets then there are working all the foreigner bars in AC!! Nice to just blend into the crowd sometimes...

I have had the 'short time ONLY' requests too, but I do believe that there are many girls that have little interest in taking a load for their cut of your 18 bucks if there's NO possibility for a longer term relationship. Totally agree with you about AC - it certainly has it's place in the Monger's World, but when you have limited vacation and no budget constraints (aand in your case speaking Thai) Thailand will beat the PI quality-wise everytime.

I went to Queens yesterday to meet up with someone at a GREAT Thai restaurant. I seriously doubt I'll ever go out of my way for Filipino food.

Glad to hear things are working out with Da. I agree that if you aren't providing support, then how they earn money is up to them. Hell, if she can get $2k a month, why not go for it.

I've noticed that Flip food actually tastes better then British food. Can you believe that? My favorite restaurant in Pattaya is across from a restaurant selling British food. They advertise "Best British food in Pattaya!!" Are they joking?!?! Hell, they used to have a sandwich board out in front that said "We proudly serve Heinz Baked Beans". Like that's something to brag about...

Just a friendly reminder here that "Flip" is a derogatory slang for Filipino. Like "Nigger" is derogatory for Negro. Also, just another reminder that there may be some Filipinos here on this board (For instance, I'm three-fourths Filipino...Visayan, to be exact. The rest of me is Spanish and Cuban).

So it's no surprise that I would like Filipino food better than Thai food. Particularly the marunguy, dinaguan, pinacbet, and gisantes. Hell, I even like balut, with salt and pepper. Like raw fish and oysters, Filipino food is a somewhat acquired taste.

On that same token, I also love boiled green bananas and taro root (Samoan food), and I've also eaten aligator meat down in New Orleans. In fact, I think New Orleans shellfish dishes tastes better than Thai shellfish dishes.

Ah, but I digress onto a tangent. Yes, KM, Da is a beautiful woman! A keeper, for sure, so long you don't mind the thought of her keeping around a sugar-daddy or two. I guess the main thing is that you guys are happy when you're together, it shouldn't much matter what happens when you're not together.

I've never understood how places proudly advertise '"British Food". Their food has a well-deserved reputation for being bland at best, inedible at worst. I suffered through their food on several occassions in London, although I do enjoy a good fish and chips whenever I find myself across the pond.

Best British Food should be nominated for the Oxymoron hall of fame.

I think we all crave the food we were brought up with, hence your penchant for Filipino food. I consider myself an expert on regional American cuisine and I'd be hard-pressed to choose between shellfish dishes of the Cajun/Creole and Thai cuisine. They're both great - maybe it has something to do with the humidty, something in ample supply in both locations.

As to "Flip" - I've seen it used on this board several times and I honestly didn't know it was a derogatory term. Not that I need to speak for other people, but I'm sure it wasn't meant to be offensive.

Flip is borderline dergogatory. Filipinos call each other Flips from time to time and there are a few Fil-American tv shows with the word "Flip" in the title. It is a term that puzzles me....maybe be like the "N" word with African-Americans in that they can call each other N... but noone else can.

BTW, I was cracking up with your stories of cherry girls. Flat out, the best looking girls in AC are cherry girls. I had to lower my taste just a bit in my trophy hunting in AC but there are a ton of very pretty girls eager to please.

Epi....the problem with AC is that the girls have now figured out that finding an American husband is a pipe dream as most of the new mongers are old expats and Asians on short vacations. In the past, the place was flooded with young stud military guys ready to marry the first Filipina they found. Now most of the girls have been brainwashed by local FIlipino trike drivers that the tourists are no good and that the TD can give them a better life.....and these stupid bitches actually believe that load of crap until they get pregnant and the trike driver just moves his business to another province. That's not to say all girls fall under this trap....it's really about 50/50, which is still less than Thai girls.

Because of your upbringing it's not surprising you would find Filipino food more savory then Thai. Realize though, most do not share your memories, hence your affinity for such foods. I saw a young Aussie try Balut outside of Geckos one night. He couldn't stand the smell, so he used one hand to pinch his nose, and the other to shovel the thing into his mouth. In under 2 seconds this guy turned into a vomiting rainbird!! The chromatic spray lit Fields for yards!! Yes, an acquired taste indeed.

I have friends in SoCal that are Filipinos. We would hang out all day and talk about Flip this and Flip that. Hell I'd get up in the morning after flip-ing some eggs (over easy), head to work flip-ing through morning shows. When I got to work, we would do "channel checks" at the cable office, flip-ing through ALL the channels!! Last night I flip-ed a coin to see who would pay the bill, flip-ed off a bad driver that cut me off while I was driving my moto and even flip-ed my barfine over so I could bang her from behind.

OK, enough of being an asshole. As for the use of the word Flip - it was introduced to me by friends that live/work in San Pedro. We all worked the same job and the ENCOURAGED the use of this word. My other Filipino friends that work in hospitals (imagine that) commonly use the word and also encourage me to do the same. You are the first person I have come across in my 25+ years of interacting with the Filipino community to point out that it is, indeed, a derogatory term. Guess it's all in context, eh?

I've seen things in the Philippines that I've not seen anywhere else. McDonalds has BBQ Chicken that uses karo syrup as it's main ingredient (even above chicken!!). I've also been to Jollibee many times and eaten their sweet fried chicken and burgers. I see FAR more filipinos lining up outside of Jollibee then I do outside of Goldilocks.

Re: "Flip" as a derogatory word.

Perhaps, yes, it's in the context of its use. In a comfortable surrounding with friends who understand that no malice is intended, I guess the casual use of the word "Flip" is okay, even comedic. Just like me talking to the Negro manager of one of my shops, asking him, "Nigga, you hungry?"

As for balut....actually, the first time I tried it was about three months ago. In all my life prior to that, I thought it was the most disgusting thing ever to be eaten (including Rocky Mountain oysters), and I swore I'd never eat that shit. Three months ago, I was dating a stripper and, while getting drunk in her bar, she brought out a couple balut and offered me some. I vehemently said, "Oh, FUCK THAT!" But she insisted that I at least try it. She showed me how to eat it (crack the top, suck the juices, peel the shell, dip the fetus in salt and pepper, and enjoy). Well, I was drunk, and I was also hungry...and the way she sucked that shell and savored the taste just made my mouth water (it also made my cock hard...). So I tried it, and I liked it.

As for dinaguan (for those who don't know what it is...before a pig is slaughtered, they stick a rod down its throat to stiffen up the neck. Then they slit the neck and collect all the blood...while the pig is still alive. Then they cook the blood with vinegar and chunks of pork meat. At least, that's how my grandma used to do it), I never started eating it until about two years ago. Like balut, the thought of eating pig blood totally disgusted me, and I swore I'd NEVER eat that shit! Especially since it actually LOOKS like runny shit when it's cooked.

But one day, one of my workers at my tattoo shop was eating rice with pork gisantes, with dinaguan on the side. And the "way" he was eating it just made it look delicious. So the next time I went to the Filipino restaurant next door, I gave it a try. And, yes, I liked it! Dinaguan mixed with rice, and washed down with marungay soup is DA BOMB!

Guys, as a Brit who is always running his country down and a real lover of food, I must fly the flag a little here and educate you a little on English food.

Firstly, I have travelled a lot and have yet to find a better traditional breakfast than a good English one. Any challengers?

Secondly, you have to go a long way to beat a tradional English pud. well cooked.

Lastly, although for variety and quality, English main courses cannot compete with the best on the world circuit, there are some great exceptions. Steak and kidney pudding cooked to perfection is just heaven and there are a few more I could mention.

I think the main difference is there are very few restaurants that produce real good English dishes, there are many great Thai, Japanese ... restaurants but a good English one is rare. So to get real good English food you need to eat at home IMHO.

Ahh, WW my favorite Brit weighing in with some good points.

Breakfast - I totally forgot about that one. Those rashers of bacon along with the beans and white and black pudding ARE very good. Of course my Irish friends over here claim that's an Irish breakfast. Oh well, all part of the Empire.

If you are ever in New York, please let me take you to the BEST breakfast joint in the WORLD - Norma's at the Parker Meridien on West 54th Street. Xeneno can confirm - I took him there when he was in town last month.

Traditional English Pudding? Like Yorkshire pudding? I did have that a couple of times and it WAS heavenly - I'm a big meat fan and pudding is a GREAT side.

On a related note, I must opine that Thais do NOT know how to cook a steak. The worst-tasting steaks I ever had were in Pattaya. Even that steakhouse across the soi from Penthouse Hotel (forgot the name...next to Bubbles A-go-go?) couldn't serve up anything comparable to an Outback...or even a Sizzler...steak. Nothing beats a thick, Black Angus New York cut seared to medium-rare perfection...

But the best-tasting fried-rice I've had was indeed from Thailand.

I also know many Filipina's and their husbands. I have never found that they thought the term Flip offensive in any way. Should be no more offensive than Yank as a shot form of Yankee, or Aussie for Australian etc.

Epi I can easily see how you must be tiring of AC. The place is just so damn small. just the few days I was there I had trouble walking past several bars without the lookouts spotting me -- followed by the stream of SMS's from some former BF.

As for the pudding you are right about the Yorkshire Pudding, but I was referring to desserts such as the wonderfully named "Spotted Dick" or "Jam Rolly-polly" served with thick and creamy custard. Of course all these, as well as the English breakfast are extremely unhealthy, but then we only live once!

Tried one of those kidney pies at a place in Orange County (who would have thought) and it was actually pretty good. Of course, placing that next to my favorite Thai restaurant with food that's less expensive, you can see how I'm not eating too much kidney pie!!

I've found that 2nd and 3rd world beef leaves a LOT to be desired!! I'm not a fan of most steaks in Thailand unless they're imported from someplace else. I've ALWAYS been pleased with how the Marriott (Nana) handles steak, but you're paying a premium.

Great write up KM, I found your experiences at the two destinations very interesting as it reflects my own experiences as well. But I must say that the GFE experiences I had were very intense and very sincere IMO, the Filipinas run circles around the Thai girls in trying to latch onto you. For instance, the Thai babes usually keep in touch by email or phone for a couple of months max, but I have 2 Filipinas I met almost a year ago still contacting me every other day!

It really is interesting, and kind of sad, for me to hear so many Thai girls complaining about the Thai men about the problems you described. One BG I know well is always telling me that the Thai guys will do all these things , even when they are in their 50s or 60s.

As for the Filipinas, the two that I am in contact with appear to have the same motivation -- i.e. a ticket out of the the PI. I sit here dreaming of my next visit to Thailand , still almost 3 months away. I decided to post this short follow up to my last report in part to re open an age old discussion about whether you can have a serious and lasting relationship with a former working girl.Also perhaps to work thru any doubts I myself may have about my realtionship with my teerak Da. As my last trip began I was totally seperated and alienated from Da. By the end we were back together and had a stronger realtionship than ever. Since then we have kept in constant touch and once again I plan to spend my entire 3 weeks in Thailand with her. Has she given up her previous boyfriends ?? I think so. Can I prove it -- Hell no . I do know for sure she is no longer in the bar scene. I am also sure she does not need the financial support of other farang. She truly hates Thai men so I think she is faithful. I have called her at all different times and she has always answers and is never shy about talking to me about very personal things . I deduce from that she had no one else in the room. Am I a fool - perhaps.

She keeps asking me to move to Thailand. If she was playing the field I think she would rather keep me in faranlandia. After over 2 years of our relationship she has yet to ask me for a single baht. Do I give her money ? Occasionally, but by no means am I an ATM to be counted on for support. I keep waiting for the sick father , daughter , buffalo or whatever story. It hasn't come yet. She recently told me she had to give a lawyer 150,000 baht in a battle to keep her daughter away from ex boyfriend who suddenly wants his daughter back after two and a half years of absence. I thought -- here it comes -- the pitch for big baht. Never happened. She used her own money !

I know she has a good business. I have seen her tour bus and met her father who co-owns the company. They are planning on buying a second bus for 3 million baht. Must be making some kind of profit. Now she is starting a modeling career after a lot of pushing by me. Like most Thai girls , she thinks she is ugly and fat. She is obviously neither and I kept telling her she was a natural in front of the camera. She finally went down for an photo audition and was hired by the Grammy Corporation which is a huge media company in Thailand. Despite all this she still says she wants only me and has NO interest in other men. I believe her-- Why lie at this point ? If she had other boyfriends why not just dump me and be done with it ? She would not lose any money-- I send her small amounts compared to what she has already.She would not lose a Brad Pitt look alike. I am about as ordinary as they come. It must be that she genuinely cares about me. If it could happen for me it could work out for anyone. Is it common ? Highly unlikely. Am I lucky ?? You bet your sweet ass I am. Whenever I look at her pictures or remember being with her I cannot believe it's not all a dream.

She has already told me when I go back in October we are going to work on making a leuk krung. She wants a Thai-American baby ( mine fortunately ) . So do I and it will certainly be a lot of fun in the making.

In summary - after 2 and a half years and a few bumps in the road we are still going strong and I really believe we have a good honest relationship now. Will it last ?? I hope so . After all -- Why me ? She could easily have her pick of a lot of younger much richer farang than me. So,just as George Foreman finally really has retired , I guess so must I. Of course in Bangkok, there are plenty of opportunities for a few sparring sessions on the side. My next trip report may be pretty boring Certainly by Xen, Epi, Blazers, and many other's standards for sure. Boring reading for y'all perhaps, but very exciting for your's truly !!

Your ponderings of July 29th "can you have a serious relationship with a former working girl" prompted me to share my story with you.

I have been going to Thailand about 10 years now. I had recently broken up with a thailady, nonworking girl, I had been seeing for about 2 years and was back to mongering when I ran across a beautiful girl in a bar. I B/F her and we got on great. Her friend Nok, also a stunner, (9.5) would join us to go clubing and dancing together. I felt like a king in between these two beautiful young pooyings.

After I left, we wrote and she called and I called her and within a couple of months I was back in LOS. The second trip, we got ever closer and she asked me if I could help her to leave the bar. She said that she wanted just one man, me and wanted to take me to her home to meet the family. Up until then I'd thought the answer to your question was NO,it isn't possible. Bit of background. My previous g/f in LOS
had graduated university and had a steady well paid job for 10 years in a hospital and would not go into a girly bar, she was also much older. However, things hadn't worked out with her either and this one was sooooo young and beautiful so what the hell."What will it take?" I found myself asking-'the minimum" I added, knowing that she had
a poor education and no special skills for a straight job so I'd have to support her. She didn't ask for much, enough to survive. I knew that she wasn't gold digging. I rented a condo at first and later bought one. After 2 years we did a moban (village) wedding, rings, dowry the works. She was very happy, I was happy, everyone was happy. Had I written this 4 months ago, I would have ended it here-however...

Although we wanted to be with each other, I am not ready to live in LOS and having experienced marrage and more to the point, divorce, US style, I wasn't ready to get a fiancee visa for her and marry officially. And so it was that, I was spending more and more time in LOS and the more time I spent, the more thai I learned, the more bars and bar owners I knew and the harder it became to be with one woman. My friends would visit and want me to show them the best bars. I'd end up having lots to drink, lots of young things on my lap and then try to leave early to go home to the wife. It isn't easy to stay faithful when your friends all want to drink and monger AND WANT YOU TO SHOW THEM WHERE!

I did my best but, being a human being and not a Saint...... She would cry when she found lipstick or face powder on my shirts or if I was out very late without her. I tried taking her with me a few times but that doesn't work either when your friends want to monger. I found that 3 weeks in LOS was breaking down roughly to week 1. shopping and stocking the condo, getting things done like screen doors, a/c filters cleaned etc. Week
2. driving 5 or 6 hours each way to visit the family. Week 3. Handling her upset that I was leaving soon, arranging for bills to be paid while I was away, money for her, food etc. LOS visits were definately different than before:[ I was getting unhappy and frustrated that I couldn't just bring her with me to the US.

Conclusion: About a month before my last visit to LOS I noticed a change in her during our phone conversations. I suspected that she was seeing someone else. When I arrived she was not at the airport to meet me, the second day she confessed that she had met someone, a farung, she hates thai men too. The guy lives there and is 15 or so years younger than me and is Lore mak (handsome). And so after some tears she left....
She was a good wife we had alot of fun together and when I'd wake some mornings before her she looked like an angel sleeping next to me.
Maybe, it is possible but it sure isn't easy. I have to say that for 3 years I believe that she was faithful. Like you said, I do not know for sure-no but I know many people who live there and for sure she never went back to the bar and was never seen with anyone else. The thing you have to ask yourself is "what do I really want?" bacause unless you bring her over on a fiancee visa you will only spend a few weeks, maybe months together each year. That means the rest of the time 10 months or so, you want and expect a 20 y.o.beauty to be celibate in LOS. And what about you, when your mongering will you feel guilty? Ready to be celibate and faithful 10 months of the year?
For me, in one way I feel a sense of relief, in another sad. I can tell you that after you get really involved it can tear your guts out. I ended up staying in a hotel the whole 4 weeks because I'd only ever lived in the condo with her and would get sad every time I went there.
To end on a happier note-I went and found all those goodlooking bargirls I always wanted to s/t with and along with some new ones I had some absolute stunners!! I just joined Clubhombre so I didn't do a trip report but maybe I dig out some picts and put one together. Hey, if you are ever going to be dumped for another guy I can't think of anywhere better for it to happen than LOS.

If she hates Thai men, it's probably because of the abuse and infedility that Thai men are known for....well when you go and act like a stereotypical Thai man then you cannot expect her to stick around and cannot really blame her for finding someone new can you

A Caveat to this is that I am glad that someone actually talked about their own contribution to the breakup instead of blaming it entirely on the pooying...very honest report...actually this should be a report in itself.

Was wondering why you didn`t bring her here on a fiance visa and just send her back after the 90 days, you could of reapplied and brought her back again for 90 days before sending her back again, that would have given you more time to spend together and save cash on trips back and forth as well as her having a oppurtunity to visit the US. I really don't think it is that easy. I could be mistaken but my experience and those of people I know has been that it is VERY difficult to get a visa, fiance or otherwise for a Thai with no real job or independant income. If you bring her in as a fiance and do not marry her she has a very hard time getting another visa. If you know different I'd like to learn about it.

All this talk of Da's hot family and I just realized I never got to meet them this trip! ! ack

Well, about a month ago i spoke with a couple of international lawyers who specialize in fiance visas, and i`ve been to many web sites, a good one is visajourney.com, also i have a good friend who works with 2 guys who just recently brought girls here from the PI with no problems, but fiance visas are rarely turned down, only a medical condition or crimminal record or falsifing info on appl. or overstaying a previous visa will get it rejected in the overwhelming majority of cases.

As far as having a job or money that only applies to persons who will be in the US temporaily and must show they have a good reason to return to thier home country and not overstay the visa. But with a fiance visa the intention is for the couple to marry and the forgiener to live permanantly in the US, no reason to return home, big difference.

But you don`t have to marry and can send her back after the 90 days, that has no effect on her future chances for fiance visas, as long as she doesn`t overstay the 90 day visa. You can reapply the day she leaves and bring her back again , the lawyer told me he has done that a number of times. Also a guy can bring as many girls as he wants on fiance visas, and a forgiener can come to the US as many times as someone will apply for them, a guy can bring the same girl multiple times.

I was also told that contrary to what you might think, 9/11 has had no effect on fiance visas, it`s bussiness as usual.

This trip I barely spent much time with her family. Went to dinner with her father and sister twice then disaster struck and never saw her or family after I left for Pattaya. All happened for the best in the long run I believe. I will elaborate later. While Da is indeed a gorgeous Thai girl she was not what I was for in permanent realtionship as it turned out.

You may get a chance to meet her after all. She definitely lives way beyond her means and without her most recent farang ATM she may be forced back into the bar game.

Sorry to hear that, but it certainly sounds like things worked out for the best...
