I hadn’t been to SJO in over a year and reading/viewing the reports had me anticipating this one more than any other. From a mongering perspective, this trip was my most enjoyable by far. I decided before I went that I wasn’t going to the beach or Arenal or anywhere outside of SJO for multiple days. I only took day trips and nights were focused on mongering. This resulted in great sex, but I did get more frustrated with Ticos and the bullshit in SJO (noise, pollution, traffic, etc..)

I was there too long for a daily recap. Most days followed this format:

1) Morning-sleep in or day tour
2) Arte y Sauna if a morning/early afternoon session needed
3) IDEM or EROS between 6-9
4) Blue Marlin 10 pm on

I planned to try both VIPS, 747, Jocelyns, Tentaciones, etc.., but I never made it to any of them. The reason was because I found 5 great chicas early on and a lot of my trip was alternate repeats with them. Most days I had at least 2 messages on my phone to make plans.

I figure I paid about $1000 more hitting the BM basically every night and not going to lower cost alternatives. To me it was worth it, but you can get by a lot cheaper if you want to. I lucked out and found a core of incredible chicas, mostly Colombianas, who really liked me and wore me out every night.

Here are the highlights:

RULE #1 – SPEAK SPANISH (Rule #2 – See Rule #1)

As a test I tried approaching some chicas pretending not to speak Spanish-very few opened up and it was like pulling teeth trying to get basic info. Then I tried approaching chicas speaking Spanish. If I saw a Chica I would approach her and say “Hola, mi amor,” or “Hola Paisa!” if she was from Medellin. When I did this you could see their face light up and they would smile. Think if you were in China and no one spoke English all day, then somebody comes up and asks you how you are-you would be relieved and happy to speak to them. Several chicas I didn’t go with thanked me for talking to them.

Speaking Spanish is the most important thing to do to improve your session quality and overall enjoyment in Costa Rica.

I LOVE COLOMBIANAS

I was 5 for 7 in incredible experiences with Colombianas. I don’t know if I was lucky or they just liked me. Two of these I considered favoritas and had multiple repeat sessions with basically anything I wanted-Favorita #1 would have jumped out the window if it would have gotten me off. Overall the attitude of these chicas was that they weren’t being paid just so I could have them, it was like it was their job to please me and fulfill any fantasy I had. Every session was BBBJ-even to completion, DFK, screaming, biting, etc... I went 7 straight sessions without having a chica put on a rubber for a BJ.

Pricing-Colombianas are not only passionate, but they are tough negotiators. The lowest I could get was $80. Most would not come down from $100, so I ended up negotiating time. I would agree to pay $100 for 2 hrs, 2 pops-Most were up for it. My deal with my favoritas was $100 for 2 pops and a tip (if earned) and they would generally stay for 3 hrs + with 3 or more pops and I would usually pay $150-$200 depending on the amount of time they stayed. I did a few all-nighters and paid $200 to $250 depending on when they came over.

I also turned down 4 or 5 Colombiana’s after talking to them. Specifically, Viviana the stunner from the Bluestraveller video (she’s from Cali)-after talking to her for 5 min, I could tell she was a bitch. I still wanted to try her as a trophy, but she was rude to me twice and I couldn’t justify it. I had another chica from Cali do the same thing.

One think I liked about the Colombianas was that I didn’t hear “Regalame” one time. I was never scammed, told about sick mothers, sick kids, baby clothes, needing to go to the Mall or anything like that. Every one of them treated me with respect.

CLUB IDEM

Didn’t hit IDEM as much as I usually do. I think Tania and Ana are the best right now. There’s a short Tica who gives a great BBBJ-I can’t remember her name. Fee is $14,000c.

CLUB EROS

Talent was pretty good most nights. Daniela and Jennifer formerly of IDEM are now at EROS. Daniela used to be a wildcat, but she’s looking a little rough. There's also a Nica with huge natural tits worth a try. Don’t pay more than $13,000c.

ARTE Y SAUNA

Talent is not that great, but there are a few ok chicas. Fee is $12,000c.

BLUE MARLIN

The Marlin was packed most nights. I spent more time there than on prior trips. The impact of the Immigration raid is overblown. I would say there are more than 30 Colombianas I had guessed before-probably more like 50. Also lots of Ticas, Dominicanas, Panamanias, and others. Never saw much talent on the day shift.

KEY LARGO

Good news is it may eventually take the place of the Marlin and it’s a bigger building with a better atmosphere and layout than the BM. Bad news is it could be 10 yrs before the work is done at the rate the Ticos work. For now the owners of the BM order chicas over there when it gets crowded at the BM. I like the building, but the best chicas still prefer the BM. Hopefully things will improve there by next trip.

HOTEL PRESIDENTE

This was my worst experience at the Presidente. Following were problems I had:

1) I requested a specific room. When I got there the room was on the reservation sheet, but was crossed out and a new number was in it’s place. The new room was big, but noisy. I made several attempts to change, but none were taken seriously. I was on the side still renovating.
2) 8th floor Jacuzzi was double booked twice-once I was in the hot tub when the phone rings telling me I had to leave.
3) Chica I was waiting for was told I was not in my room when I was waiting on her to call to have her sent up.
4) Restaurant Service-Bad as usual-No surprises here.
5) Was told by the head maid there was no way to have clothes pressed at the hotel…Until I asked the front desk and they said they had an ironing board and iron.

This is the typical Tico bullshit you would expect in San Jose, but the Presidente has always given me much better and more competent service. I will say this-my total bill ended up at $55/day total after tax, safety deposit box and calls. With the number of women I had in my room this would have been at least $75/day at the Del Rey and staying at the Presidente saved me about $300-$350 over the Del Rey. I still may try the Morazan next time. I also like the new bar/restaurant and it’s a nice place to hang out and watch the Ticas stroll.

GETTING IN SHAPE

I started running and lost 25 lbs before coming down and it made a huge difference in stamina. It not only helped in individual sessions, but helped towards the end of the trip and I never “hit the wall” and had to take any days off. Vitamin V also saved me-usually 50 mg in early evening and a couple times another 50 mg at midnight if necessary. I would hit the gym and tried to walk a lot and this helped too.

OTRO POLVO POR FAVOR?

My last night I had an afternoon session planned with Tania from IDEM, then Favorita #2 for dinner and 2 hrs, and then a meeting with Favorita #1 at 11 pm at the Marlin. First two went great and all was well until Favorita #1 blew me off. So I’m in the Marlin at 12:30 am my last night and it’s thinning out-I was really worried I might go home empty. Then walks in a 20 yr old hottie from Panama-about 5’8, gorgeous face (can’t remember her name), with her eyebrow & bellybutton pierced and a tattoo of dolphins on her back. I grabbed her at the door and we went to the hotel. Tits were fake, she initially refused to kiss or BBBJ, so I was a little depressed. But we get started and she really gets into it. Then she pulls out a pocket rocket and asks if she can use it while I DATY-I’ve got to really thank which ever one of you mongers gave her the pocket rocket-She went crazy and came about 10 times. Sex was incredible, including DFK and BBBJ. After I finished it was about 2 am and I figured I’d say goodbye and get some sleep. Then I look over at her and she has her pocket rocket held out and asks me “Otro polvo por favor?” I’ll never forget it. I was tired after 4 pops, but I couldn’t refuse. She then tells me she wants me to do her hard from behind while she uses the pocket rocket on herself. I LOVE COSTA RICA! It took about 30-45 min and I was sweating and cramped up bad, but I finally finished up and passed out.

My last session kind of topped off the trip. I only had 1 or 2 duds the whole time. A lot of it was luck, but a lot of it was being able to talk to the chicas and relate to them. They will open up if you can speak to them.

I hope to return again soon. Who knows, mabye a side trip to Colombia if the situation improves.

I forgot to include the weather. It was pretty bad for May. It rained every day for at least an hour or two and sometimes all night. I’ve gone in July and August and it seemed to rain less then-One time in July it didn’t rain at all. As for temperature, it would get cool at night when it rained, but you would be ok with a light jacket and long pants. During the day it seemed to get hot a few times when the sun came out, but this was probably just increased humidity.

I think it was just a coincidence that I had 2 bad experiences with the Calenas. I had seen Viviana and considered her my 1st few nights to try as a trophy type-Bluestraveller’s review was pretty good. So she’s standing alone by the phone, and I approach her to say hi. I’m a nice guy and I introduced myself and asked her if she was from Cali in Spanish. She said yes, then told me to wait a second, then turned around and walked off. I’ve never had this happen before and I don’t know why she did it-I said nothing offensive or that would piss her off. So I figured it was a fluke. A few days later I approached her again when she was talking to a chica. When I said hi she said she had to make a phone call. I said ok and when she was done if she might want to go with me-she said ok, but I would have to wait until after her call. Honestly, she had such a bad attitude I wouldn’t have gone with her-I didn’t wait by the phone, I was next to the door, but I could see the side of the phone and when she got off she walked right out with some guy. She may have called a guy upstairs at to leave with her, I don’t know. If she was meeting someone, why not just tell me? I thought it was rude. I met the other Calena when I was translating for some guy who wanted to take her out-I negotiated a deal of $150 for 2 pops at a hotel near the Airport, but the guy decided against it. About 10 min later she’s talking to another chica and I approach her again for myself as she was pretty hot. When I did she snapped at me that she was busy and I had to wait-it was more the way she said it that pissed me off. I told her I wouldn’t wait and I’d find someone who wasn’t such a bitch and walked off.

Those were the 2 exceptions to the rule. Every other experience with Colombianas was great and they were all friendly and well mannered. I’m polite and very nice to the chicas, but I expect this in return. There are WAY too many other options to deal with crap from any particular chica.

My interpretation is that polvo = dust/powder, and is used when something is blown to bits or disintegrated (and thus sometimes shows up when talking about sunsets, forgetting, etc.).

Is this also a synonym for loss-of-conciousness/orgasm?

I've been meaning to thank you for your C.R. Report and it did help me a lot. It turns out I made a mistake-I thought Viviana was Victoria and I got them mixed up. So I thought that Viviana was the fun session because I couldn't access the video from C.R. I did remember from the video she seemed stuck up, but I wanted to try her because she was hot and I thought you reviewed her well (my mistake). Luckily I didn't get a chance to. Let this be a warning to others on the board-Avoid Viviana. BTW, I was told by one of my Favoritas that Victoria either left or was deported and is back in Colombia.

Anyone know of any medical clinic or facility where you can get tested for STD's and get in & out quickly in San Jose? I like the idea of a quick saftey check just prior to departure after mongering. No lectures about condoms please, just trying to be extra careful.

Best bet in San Jose is the Clinica Biblia, about 5-10 min cab ride from the Del Rey or Presidente. I don't have the exact address, but it's on the south side of downtown, maybe Avenida 16? Somebody may have the address. Any cab driver will know where it is and it's a short ride-be sure to take a cab at night.

It's been a few years, but I think there's a fee of like $40 for an office visit, plus any meds you need. Each time I went I was seen by a doctor within 15 min.

As for testing, I'm no doctor, but I think it takes a while after exposure to test positive for HIV. Don't know about other STD's.
