Rio de Janeiro (Oh My God!)

There has been plenty written about Rio de Janeiro, and that is probably the reason that I visited Rio this past May. I have been to Costa Rica twice in the last 6 months, and I will use that as a point of comparison throughout this report. Also, just as my last report from Costa Rica, I took quite a bit of video, and hopefully Hombre will integrate into this report so that the reader can get a little additional flavor for the mongering environment in Rio.

Saturday

The first thing about Rio is that it is a very long journey. I live on the east coast, and I connected in Atlanta for a red eye that arrives in Rio around 8 am. Changed a little money, and caught a cab. I speak pretty passable Spanish, and I was optimistic that I could get by in Brazil. But that was not the case with the cab driver. I stayed at the Rio Roiss, and R's are silent in Portugese, I did not know that at the time. Secondly, even if he did understand, he did not know where the hotel was. Fortunately, I recalled that the hotel was very near Help Disco, so we eventually got there.

Rio Roiss is not a bad hotel. It is one block from the beach, and two blocks from Help Disco. It is a great location. The hotel itself is a little run down. I would put the rooms on par with the Presidente in Costa Rica. Passable, but certainly not ornate. The cost was $65 per day and no 'guest' fees. The hotel is substantially smaller than the Presidente.

I got situated and then caught a nap, and I had decided that I would head to Centaurus for my first session of the trip. Centaurus is the most expensive terma in all of Rio. I figured I might as well sample the best first. Also, the most of the termas are open M-F, and only a handful are open on Saturdays, Centaurus being one of them. The priced is 290R, which is a little less than $120, and this includes a 40 minute session with a woman of your choice, and the entrance fee. I put on my robe, and then headed up to the bar area. Simply put, the place was incredible.

Imagine the nicest strip club in the United States. In terms of beauty of the women, and also lavishness of the facilities. Believe me, this place is done up first class. In many ways, this is the strongest argument for the legalization of prostitution in the United States. When business invests in an industry, things are done right and with quality. Plus all of the seediness disappears. There is no place like this in Costa Rica. IDEM comes close from a conceptual standpoint, but the quality of the women, and the atmosphere is much higher in Rio.

As soon as I enter the bar, two beautiful women immediately approach me. I'm a little nervous so I brush them off, and sit down, and then there is another beautiful woman named Barbara sitting next to me. She asks me whether I want a drink, and I agree. She returns and we start talking, and good news. She does not speak Spanish, but she understands me pretty well. I would say that about 1/2 of the words in Spanish can translate directly into Portugese. So we proceed to have quite a few drinks and are getting along swimmingly. As I looked around the room, there must have been over 80 women there. Almost all of them more than do-able. I only saw one which I would consider unattractive. Barbara was great looking, 20 years old, and she just seemed so sexy. Toward the end, her hand was on my cock, and we were making out. I decided to upgrade to a one hour suite which ended up being another 180R, but it was my first night and I didn't care. Barbara had really gotten me worked up.

Unfortunately, I did not bring my video camera because I was nervous and wanted to get a lay of the land first. So we go to the special 1 hour suite, and it was really nice. It had its own shower and toilet and sink. All very clean, and a trademark of all rooms in Rio termas, tons of mirrors. They also had some little platforms where the girls can do a little show, and they are also handy for experimenting with different positions.

Basically, we did everything. Barbara was really into it all. Anal, deep french kissing, bare back blowjobs. I had never done anal except with girlfriends before, so this was a totally new adventure for me. To sum it up, it was the best sex of my life. Barbara was awesome and willing partner. Another note about all Rio termas. The girls always bring a minimum of two condoms. They fully expect you to come twice. In Barbara's case, I came twice, but once was in her mouth without condom. That was awesome too.

The other thing about Barbara was she was insatiable. After one hour of constant sex, she was still wet and raring to go. I did not realize it at the time, but I'm pretty certain that she is a nympho maniac. And a very beautiful one at that. I only wish that I had gotten her phone number, and that I had brought my video camera.

After that, I decided to walk back from the Centaurus from the hotel. It's not a very long walk and it was about 9 pm so it was not dangerous at all and the streets are very well lit. I stopped by a Chinese Restaurant right on the beach and about 3 blocks from Help Disco. The food was pretty good, but not as good at Tin Jo or Don Wang's in Costa Rica.
Because of the red eye flight, I was pooped so I called it an early night and hit the hay.

Sunday

I'm a late riser by American standards and an early riser by Rio standards. I like waking up between 8 am and 9 am. I took a walk and found an internet cafe one block from the hotel, and the place opens at 9 am which is perfect for me. There is another place 1/2 block from the hotel but it opens at 10 am. Did a few emails, and went back to the room. As soon as I got back, the phone is ringing and it's Athos.

It was Athos's second trip to Rio in the last 6 months, but Athos is an expert monger. I have met quite a few mongers in the last few months on my various trips, but I have to say that Athos is at a level by himself. His research and knowledge is extensive, and his sexual appetite is voracious. Without his knowlege and expertise, I am sure that my trip would not have been 1/2 as enjoyable. So thanks to Athos for all the guidance.

Athos wants to call an outcall service, so I go to the beach. I live at the beach in the United States, but the beaches in Rio are awesome. The mountains come straight down to the beach, and it is really picturesque and peaceful. This is offset by the bustle of the beach scene. There are tons of single woman on the beach looking to pick up some extra dough. I would later learn that many of these women would then migrate to Meaia Pataca during the late afternoon, and then to the Help Disco at night. Additionally, you get hit on by tons of people selling stuff. I enjoyed buying a few things to eat and drink, but mainly I just wanted to relax. The two most important words on the beach in Portugese (No Obrigado). If they don't go away, just keep repeating it until they do. The other approach is to ignore them and not make any eye contact.

I later met Athos at Meia Pataca so we could map out our evening. At Meia Pataca, we saw some of the same women that were on the beach. Our plan was to visit Solarium and then L'Uomo because they were the only two termas open. Then later to hang out at the Help Disco. We catch a cab to Solarium and it's closed. The reason was that this was Mother's Day. Bummer! But fortunately, Athos knows the directions to L'Uomo, so off we go. It was a little slow at L'Uomo. There were probably only 20 women, and only 1/2 were attractive. I ended up with a little brunette named Luisa. She was definitely not the most attractive but she had a certain innocent look on her that I liked. Plus she understood my Spanish. That's a big plus.

So we talk quite a bit and start making out. I'm really digging this making out thing. Maybe it makes me feel like I'm in high school again. Or perhaps it makes the entire session afterwards a little more intimate, but it is cool and to my knowledge unique to Brazil. L'Uomo was not as nice as Centaurus, but it certainly was nice compared to any other standard that I can think of.

This time I remembered my video camera, and I discussed it with Luisa. She had no problem. So I go back to the locker to get the camera, and the woman in charge of the locker immediately stops me. I explain to her, but she brings me back to the front desk. The lady says no cameras. I explain it is only for inside the room with Luisa. She says that if Luisa is OK with it, then she is. Cool. Then as I am going up, this other guy says No Cameras. I explain everything, and then he asks Luisa. I think Luisa got confused because the guy came back and said NO. Oh well. If you're going to pull off a camera, you have to be a little more surreptitious about it.

So Luisa and I do the deed. It wasn't wild and crazy sex but it was nice slow romantic sex. Which was great for me because of her innocent look to her. Overall a nice experience with a nice girl.

Athos and I catch dinner at a so so Churrascaria, and then head to Help Disco. Actually, there is a fairly large terrace outside of Help Disco. Lots of people hang out there and have a few drinks or have dinner. There is certainly a lot of good looking talent to be had without even entering the Disco. Perhaps it was because it was Mother's Day but it was very very slow. We entered the Disco around 12 am and there was only about 50 girls there. I ended up talking to this one woman for a while, but I decided against bringing her back because I was tired and she wasn't exactly beautiful. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Monday

I'm starting to get into a pattern which I like. I get up, and go to the internet cafe at 9 am where I work for a couple of hours. Somehow in my mind, I feel that I can justify all of these escapades if I put a couple of hours of work in a day. Next I catch the free breakfast at Rio Roiss. After that, camp out at the beach for a couple of hours. Followed by working on my book. (Yes, I'm writing a book but that's another story). Then meet Athos at Meia Pataca for the evenings escapades.

This time, we return to Solarium and much to our relief it is open. So we change into our robes. Athos goes to take a shower, so I am the first to go into the bar. We arrived around 5 pm, and there are probably 30 beautiful woman, and I am the only guy! They are all smiling at me. What an awesome feeling! Although I must admit, that I was a little intimidated. Several women approached me, and we spoke which is a relief that my Spanish is working OK. Athos arrives, and we start hanging out with all the girls. I really like this place. All the girls are attractive and it is sort of a party atmosphere. The girls are all dancing in their sexy Brazilian way, and we are all laughing and talking. Then I spy Melena. Dark hair, killer face, and great bod. I knew I had to have her. So we talk some and then I mention the video camera. She's cool with it as long as I give her a tip.

This time, I am much more careful. I go down and very discreetly slip the video camera out of my locker and into the robe. Then I casually walk back up to meet Melena. It became totally clear that she had never done anything like this before. That's cool too, because there is something sexy about her being a little uneasy in front of the camera. We had a pretty cool session, but it wasn't as passionate as my session with Barbara nor as romantic as the one with Luisa. God, I am getting spoiled and I've only been here three days. No matter how I look at it, it was still great sex.

Athos is ready to go, but I am totally digging the party atmosphere at Solarium so I decide to stay and have a few more beers. I also order some food. The food was a disappointment. Just some finger foods and I wanted something a little more substantial. I don't know how it happened since I must have talked to every girl in the place, but somehow I went back into the cabin with Melena. She was great again, and she let me take more video. She was a little more comfortable but not a lot.

After my second session with Melena, I went back to the hotel and crashed.

Tuesday

Wake up and back on my routine. Internet cafe, breakfast, beach, nap, work on the book, meet Athos at Meia Pataca. Tonight we are going to Rio Antigo. During Athos last trip, he said that this was his favorite place. This place is awesome too! One of the key reasons is that this place is brand new, recently remodeled, and it looks great. The showers, the saunas, the bar, the rooms, everything. First class all the way.

And then I met Patricia. She is very cool, and very sexy. Lighter skin but dark hair. We talk and we are communicating but she doesn't understand me that well, although we are having a great time singing along with the music. Patricia was a little more sophisticated than all the other girls because she is a little older. She is 27. In this way, Patricia is a little bit of an anomaly. By and large the girls in Brazil are much younger than in Costa Rica. I would say on average they are 5 years younger. The average girl that I was with was probably about 21 years old. I talk to her about the video camera, and she is into it. No problems any more now that I have figured out how to sneak it into the cabin with me.

Patricia was a great session. She had an incredible body with great tan lines. She also posed very nicely for the camera. I'm really starting to like this girl. She is smart in addition to attractive and a killer body, so I ask for her phone number. We agree to go to the beach the following day. That would be fun.

That night, I decide to go to Barbarella. This is a totally different deal than the termas. Basically, it is what Athos calls a hooker bar. All the girls hang out at the bar, and there is a big stage where they dance and all the males kind of scout the girls until they see what they like. It is also a lot more expensive. It is 50R to get in and 50R to leave with a girl. That's before you pay the girl a penny. Another thing is that they don't serve beer, which is my beverage of choice.

So I'm hanging out, just absorbing it all, when I meet Priscilla. She came on to me, and strong. It was like a vortex and I was sucked into it. She was very attractive, and had a very nice body so I just let it happen. Next thing I knew we were back at the hotel, and I was filming her in my room. She was pretty funny because she was wearing my sunglasses when she was naked.

What happened next is just a blur. I happened to meet my second nymphomaniac. We did on the bed, on the floor, standing up, against the wall, in the bathroom. It was crazy animal sex. Another thing. She had a clit the size of my pinkie. I never saw anything like it my life. Finally I splooged, and collapsed. Not much longer after that, she was making me eat her again. It seemed like for the 20th time. Then we did it again. And then she wanted more. I had to kick her out of the room. It was late and she was wearing me out. Wow! Needless to say, I slept very well that night.

Wednesday

I go to the internet cafe in the morning, but then I call Patricia from Rio Antigo on her cell phone. She is happy to hear from me, but she would rather meet for lunch instead of going to the beach. We are to meet at 12 pm. She calls around 11:45 and says she is on her way. But then 1/2 an hour goes by, and no Patricia. I call her, and ask where she is. She says she is almost there. I call her again. Then I realize that I misunderstood her. I was to meet her at Copacabana Palace Hotel at 12 pm. She was waiting for me. I thought she said she would be at my hotel. Lesson learned. Spanish is not an acceptable substitute for Portugese particularly over the telephone. Bummer.

I take a taxi to Copacabana Palace hoping against hope that Patricia is still there. Of course she is not, so I start walking back. It's a nice day and the exercise would do me good. This shoe shine guy starts talking to me in English. Just chit chat. I'm still walking and he's walking beside me. He asks me whether I want my shoes shined. I decline since I'm wearing tennis shoes. But he keeps on talking to me, and I'm not really caring. Then he says that there is something on my shoe and that he wants to wash it off. Some big yellow glop of something. He bends down to wipe it off, and I ask him not to. I start walking away fast, and he is following me. He keeps saying that I owe him 5R. He must have followed me for five blocks until I started yelling at the top of my lungs for him to stop harrassing me. Oh well.

Athos had a friend from TJ that arrived today, so all three of us go to try 4X4. 4X4 is in the center of the city, and this place is packed. It is a pretty big place and it is packed with women. Maybe I am getting too picky but I am going to say too packed. There was no room to sit down, no time to talk, just packed. There were some nice looking ones, and I hooked up with Flavia. She was only 18. Not much conversation, and we went up to a room. She was truly a good looking woman, but frankly I don't remember a lot more about what happened. I don't want to say it was forgettable, but I just don't remember any more.

Also, today was Athos's 40th birthday. I won't go into any details about his exploits, but suffice it to say that he should get some kind of medal or entry into the Guiness Book of World Records. The guy is truly amazing. Speaking of which, I go to Centaurus solo looking for my honey Barbara from the first night. Instead of finding Barbara, I end up talking to this absolutely beautiful 19 year old named Karen. Very affectionate and very sexy. We hang out, and I buy her some food and drinks. We're having a nice time. But I have to ask one more time. Is Barbara here? Karen goes and gets the house mom and she says no. Then Karen comes back and she is in tears. Her feelings are hurt. I was really touched that she wanted to be with me, plus she is probably the most beautiful girl I had been with so far. My generosity pays off nicely because she is great in bed. Only downside is she wouldn't let me take any pictures. But I will always have fond memories of Karen.

Thursday

I'm starting to hit a little wall. A friend of Athos's and I go to terma AeroPuerto in the early pm after my normal daily routine. I have to admit. After having visited Centaurus twice, L'Uomo, Solarium, Rio Antigo, and 4X4, this place was truly a disappointment. First, it wasn't all that nice a place, and on top, the women were far below par. I mean a lot. There were several fat ones which is really my biggest pet peeve. All the girls are wearing high heels and stockings which is a nice touch, but in my view it made the fat ones look even fatter. We're sitting in the bar area, and there was not one woman that was do-able. I wonder into the relaxation area, and I meet an OK woman named Mel. The main reason that I liked her was that she was really patient with my Spanish and patiently teaching me new Portugese words or the correct pronunciation. We certainly had a few laughs, and after a while we were making out.

After the session, Mel recommended a very good restaurant called Mariu's Crustaceria. We went there and had an awesome meal. I wasn't too hungry, but it was nice to have a first class meal. It is basically a buffet style seafood place, except all of the seafood is freshly cooked and brought to your table. All inclusive price. A little on the pricy side, but I always am up for a good meal. The restaurant was on the beach, so we started walking back to the hotel. Along the way, there were numerous women, some not too bad looking street walking. My buddy talked to them and they said they wanted to 17R. I was worried that they were tranvestites, but hell 17R is somewhere around $7. I declined and called it an early evening.

Friday

I go back to Centaurus again. I am starting to realize that the best session that I had was my first one, and I want a repeat. Barbara was so great plus she's a nympho. At the very least, I could run into Karen again. She's so sweet. At any rate, it doesn't matter. Centaurus is the most expensive terma at 290R but it has the best quality. Whereas your average terma has about 20% do-able girls, Centaurus has 20% that are not do-able. I honestly believe the difference is that large.

So once again, I go back to Centaurus, and guess what? No Barbara and no Karen. But there's another 19 year old with a pierced tongue. I'm a sucker for a pierced anything. There's something special about making out with a woman with a pierced tongue. Her name is Cleo and she is almost white and very thin. We have a very nice session, and the best news of all is that she let me take video. I am so happy because I did not have any video of Centaurus and it has become my favorite terma.

Later, I meet Athos and a bunch of his friends at the Terrace outside of Help. We had a good time, and one of Athos's friends invites these two girls to our table. Everyone leaves except for this other guy, me and the two girls. The weren't the two best looking girls but they were a lot of fun. I end up with a girl named Deborah. She was a non pro and I offered her 100R for all night. Deborah was a nurse in the hospital and she did this occasionally to support her two sons. So we enjoyed a nice evening together. I got a little video of her as she was leaving. She was a nice person, and I enjoyed her company, and it was a nice change of pace for me.

Saturday

My last full day in Rio. My flight leaves at 11pm on Sunday, but Sunday is more of a dead day in Rio. So where do I go? Straight back to Centaurus. Oh where oh where is Barbara? They are definitely getting to know me at the front desk since this is my fourth time in a week. I enter the bar, and I immediately see Karen. She is looking great and happy to see me. We sit down together and order a drink. But then guess who finally shows up? Barbara! But now I got this little problem. They offer to go up for a threesome, but I decide that I will go with Barbara first, and then go with Karen second. I thought that was a great idea, but unfortunately, Karen didn't. She left, and I didn't talk to her again.

But it didn't matter, because I was with Barbara again. She is so awesome. I like the way that she pours my drink for me. We talk and drink for a while. Next thing you know, we're making out like it's a drive in movie. I upgrade for the one hour suite, and Barbara lets me take video too. It's the best video of the trip so far. Did I mention that Barbara's a nympho too? Again the sex was incredible. My two best sessions in Rio were Barbara and Barbara. She gave me her cell number and next time I return I certainly will give her a buzz.

I left Centaurus happy as a clam. Since it was my last day, I wanted to do a little souvenir shopping. When it turns dark, the median of the main drag outside of Help disco turns into a bazaar of sorts. You can buy all kinds of things. I roamed around and bought some hats, t shirts, golf shirts, etc. It was a lot of fun seeing all the stuff they had to offer. Plus it was all dirt cheap. I then went to the Terrace outside of Help Disco to eat.

A lady approaches me and asks me whether I want to buy the two ladies at the table next to me some flowers. I say "why not", and then I'm sitting and chatting. They are not the best looking, but they seem to be fun. My main goal was to eat so I did, and the two of them ordered a nice fish dish. I had the rabbit and it was quite good. The food at the terrace and also at Meia Pataca is actually quite good with a wide variety of styles of cuisine. We had a fun time, and of course, they offered to go back to my room but I declined. They did let me take some video, which was cool.

My last day in Rio. How sad. A whole group of us go to Solarium and it was rocking. Maybe it was my last day, but the girls looked especially sexy. I found a girl that looked like Adam Sandler's girlfriend in Big Daddy (Rene Zelweger?). She was really sweet in bed and was a very willing partner. Plus I got my last video shots of the trip. After that, we hung out at Meia Pataca until I caught a cab to the airport. What a great trip.

Conclusions

The Big Leagues - It has been written before and there is no disputing this. The places are cleaner, nicer and more sophisticated. The women are more beautiful, and they are just better at sex as a group. Maybe I got lucky, but I also had sex with two different nymphos.

Termas - There is nothing that this can compare to. It is unique to Brazil and they are just fantastic. Reasonable prides, beautiful women, and great consistent sex. It is the best argument for legalized prostitution is that if it is was legal and competitive, it is so cool to see it done right.

Spanish vs Portugese - If you know Spanish, it is not hard to learn Portugese. Take the time to do so. I only got burned once, but my experience could have been richer if I could have spoken their language. Of course, it is always nice to find a nice lady that will instruct you as well.

My next trip - I also met Young Tom on this trip The first question he asked as "Have you booked your next trip?" Well now I have. I will be in Rio again over 4th of July weekend. I did not visit two termas that I want to try. 65 and Monte Carlo. Thay are both on my list. It also seems like you can get a very nice apartment on the beach instead of a hotel room for roughly the same price. Other than those two things, I wouldn't change a thing. My trip was spectacular.

On my last few trips I've been avoiding Centaurus like the plague. I can get two sessions anywhere else for the cost of one there.

Looks like I'll have to take one for the team and see what all the fuss is about. I leave for Rio tonight.

Priscilla was from Barbarella and she was not cheap. I paid 50R to enter Barbarella. Then I paid 15R in tips to get out of Barbarella. She made it so I didn't have to pay the other 50R to leave with her. However, when we got to my room, she wanted $100 + 50R for Barbarella exit fee + 20R cab. On top of that, I did not have a 20R so I gave her a 50R. So that would be 165R (~$65) plus $100 or $165. When I think about it, that's more expensive than Centaurus!

The other girl, Deborah, was just 100R. As I said, she was not a looker, nor was she a pro.

So I guess I got the whole range here!

Nice report BluesMan - it was great meeting you as well. I'm proud of you for booking that return trip. Being addicted to Rio is a disease without a cure but there is no better place to die than in a termas in Rio de Janeiro

Start learning some Portuguese now for that 7/4 trip. After you learn some portuguese, then you'll really start running in those nympho maniacs check out the portuguese thread for tips - you should be able to learn alot very fast with your Spanish.

I hope my first trip will go as smoothly as yours! It was great that some experienced rio mongers help to show you the ropes. have fun in july. let us know if your impressions change on your second trip.

There is nothing like your first experience of Rio! An experienced guide to get you started can make a big difference in the quality and tenor of the whole trip. I loved Rio and resolved to have more time to fully explore it on my next trip.

Great trip report. Enjoyed reading it. Feel like I was there again.

If you get back to Barbarella, see you you can find Jessica. She used to work at Centarus. I saw her twice two years ago. She was a 9 - 10 for me on all counts. Over New Years, I ran into her in Rio Sul (not sure of the spelling). She told me that she now works at Barbarella's. She looked so good in tight shorts. She is about 5'2", long black hair that hangs over her shoulders, the nicest legs you could imagine, and that great Brazilian rear end.

Centaurus ended up being my favorite terma with Solarium coming in second. Third would have to be Rio Antigo. I like Centaurus the best because of the excellent combination of quality and quantity. Plus Barbara works there.

Sakebomb, are you going to be in Rio over the week of July 4? I would love to hang with you. It is so much more enjoyable when you have others to hang out with.

I arrive in Rio the morning of June 29 and I leave the evening of the July 6th. We will be in Rio for the World Cup final. Hopefully, Brazil will be in the final and things will be CRAZY. Let's hook up.

BT, very nice report and I'm looking forward to the video. I brought my camera but only got one video (I was a little lazy this trip). Funny, the one I got happened to be one of the girls Athos did, too.

Bummed I missed you guys, but I did get to meet StayAwayJoe and Dood, two really cool guys. I also got to sample Argentina.

I'm in total agreement that there is nothing quite like a terma. That and the Brazilian "bunda" has catapulted Rio past Thailand as my favorite destination in the world so far.

Nice report, but did you think that only 20% of the average Terma garotas were doable? I thought 80% were doable and I am extremely picky...at least that's what a tourguide who stopped working and accompanied me for a few hours told me (of course I rewarded him with a chica). I thought there was little difference between Solarium and Centaurus, not enough to justify the extra dough.

Ah, if my memory is correct BluesTraveller got his Rio cherry popped there so I'm sure Centaurus will be his favorite for quite awhile. maybe he'll change his mind after a couple of more trips. If my memory is right Centaurus was my favorite for my 1st couple of trips.

I'm pretty picky too. I have another report that I'm getting out to Hombre soon. I also have found that since visiting Rio that my standards have become even higher.

There is a difference between Centaurus and Solarium. For one, Centaurus is much larger. On an average night, there will be 30 girls at Solarium, and probably close to 100 at Centaurus. Just due to the math, there are just more high quality women at Centaurus. Plus their prices are so high, that the ratio of men to women is always great.

Another way to look at it is like a restaurant. I enjoy fine dining, and I almost will always visit the best restaurant in a city. Just so I understand what the high end is all about.

I'm sort of a fan, but I just love the name. There was a good VH1 Behind the Music about the band, and the weight problems of the lead singer. Plus the drug problems of the rest of the band.

The song RUNAROUND makes me think of Help Disco. Let's hook up and have a beer. Do you know Don from Rio Trips? Most people are at Alcazar between 12-2 before beginning the days activities.

When we were in Rio in January, we did not vary much - hotel, mea pateca, terma, hotel, cafe in front of HELP, HELP, hotel.

Strike that - just figured out where it is by doing a search. I'm staying at the Debret, so it's convenient.

A beer or two would be cool. How will I know who you are? Will you have a bandolier full of harmonicas around your neck and a floppy hat?

P.S. the bt shows were impressive...

We won't be hard to miss. Don from Rio Trips calls Alcazar his office so quite a few of us in town will congregate there and plan out the days' activities.

I think BT means that they WILL be hard to miss. Look for the cloud of cigar smoke and a couple of tables crowded with a motley crew of guys and the occasional garota.

I should be checking into the Debret by 3pm on Saturday, the 23rd, and then it's a beeline back to Centaurus (at 2/3 the price of when I was there in January, why not?). I'll check Alcazar, but I assume you guys will be gone by then. Otherwise, I'll catch up with you Sunday for the return to Solarium. Look for the guy w/ gray streaked hair on the sides and a smile of contentment from ear to ear.

Very similar experience during my trip, Carnavale 2004 (late February). Did you check out any of the amazing Rio sights: Christo, Pao de Azucar, Sambadromo, Maracana. My friends and I met garotas at all these locations as well. The hotel pool scene at the better hotels is also a good place to meet non-pro's. Having fun at all times. Ciao.
