Angeles and Manila

I prefer Manila. I like the variety of options available in a city. I like massage parlors for daytime action and go-gos for evening action. The high end massage parlors in Manila are not cheap, but they are worth a visit. Manila is definitely more expensive, but the ladies are much better looking and more mature.

Manila is a shit hole, but Makati is super nice. If you can get past the drink pressure and the “surround and annoy you” atmosphere at the Makati bars, you can have a good time there.

Angeles is a great city to just kick back in. It is so laid back there and you can get some excellent mileage for next to nothing. I can see why it is the favorite place of Porker and old retired guys living on fixed incomes. $18 all night pussy is hard to beat almost anywhere. The town is small and rundown though and you have to search long and hard to find a stunner. The ladies are “as dumb as bricks” as Epi likes to put it.

Each place offers its own features and charm. You just have to decide which you prefer. Judging by the activity on the board, Angeles wins hands down. If I had to live in the Philippines, I’d live in Makati and frequent P. Burgos most of the time. I would throw in the occasional daytime visit to the massage parlors and an evening visit to EDSA sprinkled in for good measure. Then I would make short 4-5 day runs to Angeles every so often to change the pace.

I never felt unsafe in Manila despite US state department travel warnings. All the taxis have their license numbers painted on the inside of each car door, so if something happens, you can probably track down the driver. The Heritage keeps a record (license plate number) of all taxis that pick up its guests and gives you a card with the taxi’s license number on it every time you leave.

I only had one or two taxi’s that didn’t want to use the meter, but persistence pays off. In Makati, the typical “never get into a parked taxi” rule applies and I usually just flagged down a taxi that was driving along P. Burgos so I didn’t have to worry about rip-off fares back to the Heritage.

I’d recommend Philippines as a destination. I have fond memories of my time there, although the overall environment does not seem the best suited for my mongering style. The best two destinations for me to monger in are still Thailand and Brazil. With that, here are my updated and long awaited country rankings in order of places I prefer to monger in.
