Damn. What a beautiful city. I don't have much time to post now but I thought I'd give a quick update. Internet cafes aren't too common here that I can see. I found one near the train station in an alley behind the McDonalds on Damrack 34 or in that vicinity. Yesterday I walked ALL around the city. I probably walked around 7 hours including the day and night. It was raining so it kind of sucked but today is gorgeous out. I'm staying at the Marriott which is great. It's not cheap but like most of the Marriotts in Europe the quality is there and my best is really comfortable. I was dead last night after I got to my hotel.
I think I've never slept so hard in my life. My feet were so sore from walking. I walked around the RLD last night and it's super interesting to say the least. I heard you couldn't take pictures so I didn't bring my camera but I saw many people snapping photos. As long as you're not taking one of the girls I don't think anyone minds. I'll go back tonight and snap some photos.
I didn't think I could bring myself to walk into one of those window girls since there are TONS of tourists walking around. I've hobbied a ton of places around the world but this was totally different. The range of girls ranges from disgusting to gorgeous model quality. I kept walking by one girl that was HOT. She kept motioning for me to come over but there were always a ton of tourists by her. She kept laughing and waving me over. A HOT brunette from the Ukraine.
Even when I was on the other side of the canal she could scope me and would wave at me. This dude next to me was shocked when he was standing next to me and he noticed even from across the canal she kept motioning for me to come by. I finally did. Most of the girls seem like they charge the same. You see them flash a 5 sign with their hands signaling 50 Euros. The standard time seems to be 25 minutes as I could hear guys talking amonst themselves. I didn't talk to any other girls. The whole thing is surreal.
I made my way in and it was 50 Euros but I asked for 30 minutes and surprisingly she quickly agreed. I was expecting the worst after talking to my best friend who came here on business a few months ago. He said it was a totally rushed session. While I didn't get GFE she was surprisingly enthusiastic or a really good actress (probably the later but who cares). After about 25 minutes it was clear I was no where near to finishing and I asked her for another 30 minutes. Not sure if I was supposed to get a discount but I assumed another 50 Euros.
By the end of it I was exhausted. I walked home and was dead. I'll post more details about the beautiful city later. I'm taking a tour of the canals in about 10 minutes. I find most things here aren't terribly expensive compared to other cities in Europe but they aren't cheap either.
I took EasyJet for the first time from London Gatwick and be prepared for hefty fees if you go overweight. You are allowed 40 lbs. and no way in hell I can keep within that range for an 11 day trip through Europe. I paid $68 in penalties as they charge about $4 a lb over! The entire flight felt like an infomercial trying to sell you crap. Example: "Why not buy that special someone Chanel #5. It smells great and you know she deserves it...." and on and on and on. Thank God the flight was only 50 minutes. I just bought a train ticket to go to Paris tomorrow morning. Not cheap at $180 US for a first class ticket.
More later.

I always check the internet at one of my happy places, Abraxus coffee shop. A very interesting little place that has a psychedilic hobbitt house in shire design feel. It located right near damn square and here's a map of its location
http://www.hiptravelguide.com/amsterdam/php/article.php?sid=53
Just buy a coffee or any drink at the bar and they will give a token you can use for one of the two computers which you can't miss. If you want to indulge in good smoke, this place has an excellent dope counter. If you go, be sure to at least take a peek at the upstairs level.
Another coffeeshop that is more quiet but has the same type of internet access is the Kadinsky coffee shop near the Spuii. This place has a very large front window where you can sit and watch the world go by when the weather is nice. The have some really interesting Kadinsky inspired pieces on interesting mediums here (trash can lids if I recall correctly.)Look at the same map above. Kadinsky is not marked but it's in a narrow alley near Spui.
Finally, if I recall there's a giant internet place right off of Rembraintplan.
Hey this reminds me, I am gonna be in Amsterdam in exactly a month. SWEET!

Hey Mongerx,
Thanks for the tip on the coffee house/ internet cafe. Now I started to spot more of them. I came back to this one because you pay for an hour and they give you a code and you can come back. I still had 1/2 hour left.
It's a shame I don't smoke weed because Amsterdam as expected is full of "coffee houses" with tons of types of marijuana. Just walking down many streets there is a smell of pot in the air. It must be a pot smoker's paradise here. Also, last night there were several shady looking black dudes asking tourists if they wanted to buy "coke". Probably not the smartest thing even talking to these guys.
I typed a report today and saved it to my USB stick but these computers here don't work with USB sticks so I'll post it from Paris or somewhere else. Another great day in Amsterdam and the weather is great. Damn these girls here are beautiful. I can't imagine how sexy they are riding their bicycles in the summer when it's warmer out. More later.

Godfather, One of things i enjoyed most about AMS was sitting at one the outdoor cafe's and watching those beautiful dutch women walk by.I've never seen so many tall leggy blonds in my life. The RLD is over-rated by there are other places around for fun.I was like you,and a bit shy with all the tourists around.

I am in Paris now. Damn these keyboards are ass backwards. I cant post a long report with these keyboards. I have a more detailed report on my USB stick but I cant use it here. I had the worst session of my life my last night in Amsterdam. Not only that but I figured out the next day the girls friend stole cash out of my wallet while I was showering. $300!!! Ouch!!! At least I had an awesome night with my girl here in Paris.
OK. I figured out I can change the keyboard to English. Anyway, the session was horrible! She kept asking me when I'm leaving town and unfortunately I told her in the morning. I'm 100% positive her friend stole the money. If I was still in Amsterdam I would have gone to the police. I didn't notice the money gone until I was on the train to the airport. A very expensive lesson. I told my friend taking me to the airport nothing bad has happened on all my journeys and I was due to get robbed. I was right!
I'm at the Le Meridien-Etoile in Paris and the hotel is very posh. It's supposed to be the flagship of the chain. The lobby area is super nice. I got a fairly good deal when you consider the posted room rate in the lobby says 540 Euros a night for the standard room!
Internet cafes are hard to find in Paris. I finally found one here in the Latin Quarter. I really like this area. Lots of good bars and restaurants.

Here is part of my report that I typed on my laptop when I was in Amsterdam. I'm posting it now even though I already went to Amsterdam.
Finally I’m resting. Today was another very busy day. Yesterday I walked around a ton and today was no different. I saw many different parts of the city today. I recommend you take some sort of city tour as it’s a good base to familiarize yourself with the city. A city tour with a canal tour is 22€ which I found to be a good deal. You can do them separately if you want. 17€ for the city tour and 7€ for the water tour.
This is my 6th trip to Europe in as many months. I could never get tired of the great architecture here. Nothing beats Europe when you consider architecture, history, and beauty. Amsterdam is a very clean city. The people here are also very beautiful. The girls are taller and more beautiful than many of their European neighbors. Walking around London I rarely see classically beautiful girls but it’s totally different here. Amsterdam is also filled with tons of young people. In Germany and Switzerland you rarely see big groups or crowds of young kids but in Amsterdam it is filled with them.
Amsterdam is also an extremely laid back city. I would say that 90%+ of both the natives and the tourists wear blue jeans. I came during the high season so there are tons of tourists and the streets are full.
Arriving from London is very easy. Odds are you will fly here on a low cost carrier like EasyJet. I think my ticket was only around $100 or so with taxes but then I had to pay another $60 in overweight baggage charges. When you arrive from the airport depending on where you are staying you can take the KLM shuttle which is only 10.50€. It goes to 16 of the top rated hotels. Even if it doesn’t go to your hotel, odds are it will go close to it. It stops in front of the airport and runs every 20 minutes and no reservations are needed. Luckily they stopped right at my hotel. I think someone told me a taxi is around 35-40€ so definitely take the shuttle.
Upper end hotels here are quite pricey. I’m at the Marriott and it’s in a good part of town in Leidseplein which houses many of the clubs and restaurants. It also has tons of clothing stores. Clothes here aren’t cheap though. I noticed that either someone at Easyjet or American helped themselves to some of my clothes from my bag so I had to go out and buy some new clothes. A pair of nice jeans costs 100€. ($120).
It’s quite easy to walk around the city. I haven’t taken a taxi and won’t and I haven’t even used the above ground Tram system preferring to walk. Many people will tell you that Amsterdam is very easy to get around. That is generally true but it’s easy to get lost. Something I like doing when in Europe is just walking around aimlessly. I’ll walk a good hour or two then look on a map and see where I am. Then I’ll make my way back to my hotel. Beware though. Many streets look the same here and without a map you could get lost. However, after a while you’ll notice what street you’re on and easily can make your way around.
You MUST have a good map if you want to get to know Amsterdam. I prefer the Knopf Citymap guides which are quite small and will fit in a jacket pocket and folds out to show each major part of the city. I’m not sure which cities they have but I bought one for London, Paris, and Prague. There are six major parts of the city. They are Leidseplein, the Dam, Museumplein/Waterloo, Rembrandtplein and Mutplein. Another good map is the Suurland-Falkplan- Amsterdam Tourist Map which shows every street and canal, tram routes/stops and the museums. You can buy it from most tourist stores for around 3€.
At first I thought the city is too spread out to walk on foot but I was wrong. I’d say you can see most parts of the city with a 6 hour walk. Add in several more hours if you want to stop in any part of it. Make sure you have comfortable shoes as you definitely will need them. Also, be careful as I don’t think pedestrians have the right of way here. I’ve seen a few people nearly get hit by cars, buses and trams. Yesterday I saw a girl on a bike within 2 seconds of getting smashed like a fly from a speeding bus.
Speaking of girls on bicycles, there are a ton of them riding around. Some of them are damn hot too. I can’t imagine how beautiful it must be in the summer seeing all the girls with their short skirts riding around on their bikes. The bicycle seems to be the preferred method of getting around. I heard that there are as many bicycles as there are citizens here (735,000). Whether that is true or not I’m not sure but there seems to be bicycles everywhere. The funny thing is they aren’t nice bicycles either. They all look old fashioned and its kind of surreal to see everyone including men on these bikes. I took tons of great pictures of bicycles chained on bridges, against buildings and in the background. One of my favorite pictures that I took was this bicycle at this restaurant with a sign that says, “no bikes”.
There are tons of great restaurants here. The food is quite good. They have every range of restaurants here. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on good food either if you don’t want to. I know some of you don’t like spending money on food or it’s not important to you. I love eating good food. I usually go to nice places at night but during the day it’s easy to snack affordable here. They have these great Shaorma places with these Egyptian sandwiches. They are very tasty. You can get a large sandwich, French fries and a soda for about 11€. They also have this store on Leidsestraat that has snacks they put in these vending machine type windows. You simply put a 1€ coin into the slot and you pull out the food item. You can see guys in the back of the machines constantly refilling them with fresh items. I ate something last night coming home. I’m not sure what it’s called but it was this breaded item that was filled with gravy and mushrooms. It was good.
The stores close early here. Most of the clothes stores close by 5:30 PM here which I find odd. There are still tons of tourists walking around so I’m not sure why they close so early. Maybe they just want to relax and enjoy themselves??
The culture and people here are super laid back. If you couldn’t already tell from them accepting and legalizing prostitution, you’d figure it out when you see these stand up toilet stands that guys can use in busy touristy areas. I took a picture of it and will post it. They are these stand up toilets that guys just piss in. It’s a little surreal to see guys taking a whiz with tons of tourists walking around. Talk about an un-shy society.
There are tons of great museums here. You definitely shouldn’t miss some of them. The Rijksmuseum is closed for 4 more years until mid-2008 for renovations but there are plenty of others. I also hit Anne Frankhuis (Anne Frank’s house) which was nothing major but very interesting when you consider what she went through. I just got done reading the Diary of Anne Frank so it was especially interesting.
Ok. Now for some hobby information. I’ve been traveling more the past year more to see beautiful places than see beautiful girls. Still, I like to combine the best of both worlds when possible. Amsterdam has a ton of hobby action from clubs, private girls, RLD and other options. To be honest, I’m not that motivated to hobby here. I’m saving funds for when I arrive in Prague.
I walked down the RLD and it’s very interesting. You can read and hear all about it but until you are walking down it you can’t really appreciate what it’s like. Keep in mind there are a ton of tourists here. Not only men but women as well visit it out of curiosity.
I always thought that RLD would be bigger than it is. It’s actually a small area. Just look at a map at the Damstraat area. Locate Oudezijds Voorburgwal as far north as the Oude Kerk (Old Church). As expected, the girls are in apartments with red lights around the window frames. Some of the girls are downright nasty. Some of them are fat and just plain ugly. How they make money is perhaps the biggest mystery I’ve encountered in my trips to Europe. It might be from the drunk guys walking around. I saw many British guys that were so drunk they could barely walk.
There are also several hotties in some of the windows. None of the girls look like they are from the Netherlands. Instead many looked Hispanic, Asian, Eastern European and Brazilian. They are all wearing bikinis or some other sexy outfits like two girls I saw in skimpy nurses uniforms. The girls will wink at you or tap on the window to get your attention. It really takes a girl that is NOT shy to do this as there are so many tourists that come here.
It was for that reason that I wasn’t too fired up to see a girl. My best friend told me how he had to do the “walk of shame” when seeing these girls. I didn’t really understand until I was there at the RLD. You have to understand that everyone can see you talking to the girls and going in. I’m not shy but didn’t like the aspect of couples just standing there watching guys negotiate then go into the apartment. I kept walking around looking at the girls and one girl kept trying to get my attention. Many of the girls try to get your attention but this girl just kept trying. She even spotted me when I was across the canal on the other side and kept waving for me to come over. It was funny.
I don’t think there is too much negotiating going on. Most girls seemed to flash a 5 sign with their fingers while walking by which I took to mean 50€. I heard many guys saying it was for 25 minutes maximum. When I finally walked over to that girl I didn’t want to stand outside the door for very long. Even at midnight the area was packed because it was Friday night. I asked her 50€ and she said yes. Then I asked for 30 minutes and she said no problem. I wasn’t expecting much and my friend told me the girls were very unenthusiastic and just rushed him. The girl I was with was Ukrainian but her English was decent. I think she said her name was Rachel. She is a couple doors down from that Sex show with the funky statue.
She was actually getting into the sex which surprised me. She did say, “baby you cum for me” after about 20 minutes but I knew I wasn’t going to finish. I asked her if I could extend for another 30 minutes and she said no problem. I did have a strong finish and was quite pleased. No GFE or BBBJ although I didn’t expect it. Still, not bad for 100€ ($120) for an hour with a super hottie. I really believe it makes a difference if you are clean, don’t smell like smoke and are nice to the girl.
I think the rest of the world can learn a good lesson from Amsterdam. Prostitution is really the oldest profession in the world. It will always be around no matter what the government does. Amsterdam realizes this and actually makes a ton of money taxing the girls and bringing in tourists who want to visit out of curiosity. I actually didn’t see too many guys going into the apartments and I walked around several hours but I imagine it gets busier as the night goes on. These girls must make a fortune at 50€ for 20-25 minutes.
I’m not sure why people make such a big deal about sex. Sex is just sex and people don’t get enough of it. Sex relaxes us, makes us happier and keeps us young. Ok. I’m going to rest for a while then eat and then probably hit a club or the RLD again. I leave for Paris tomorrow. I’m planning on hooking up with my non-pro girl and maybe meeting this dude from WSG that lives there.
__________________________
Wow. Tonight I had the worst hobbying session of my life. Against my better judgment I walked down the RLD again. There seemed to be less hotties this time. Although there were even more tourists walking down both sides of the street. I was dead tired from walking around all day. I finally took a Tram today and they are quite easy to figure out. Most trips are 1.60€. You can use it over again if you use it within one hour.
Anyway, I walked down to the action. I saw a huge fight with some drunken British guys. (They seem to be the ones that are always drunk. They sure know how to get their drink on). Anyway, these cops came over and I saw the hottest female cop of my life. Hell, one of the hottest girls of my life. She was gorgeous. I stood there about 10 minutes watching her cuff the drunken ass. I was getting turned on and was tempted to go over and ask her to marry me. Ha, ha. Seriously though I’m turned on by hot female cops and one of my goals is to sleep with one in the future.
I walked down the RLD and wasn’t going to hobby. Then I see this fricking hot girl. Dirty blonde hair, perfect body, nice breasts, model face. OK. I flashed a 5 and she told me to come to the door. She buzzed it open before I got to the top of the stairs. She was hot as hell! She claimed to be from Amsterdam but I don’t know for sure. She spoke Dutch fluently. I told her that I thought only foreign girls work here and she simply said, “I guess you guessed wrong”. Her English was good. I inquired about time and she said 15-20 minutes which was about ½ of yesterday. I knew the sex would be bad at this point but I didn’t do the walk of shame for nothing so I bucked up and sessioned. First she made me shower and watched me. I told her I just got out of the shower but she didn’t believe me. The girls here also require you to pay first.
We start f*cking in one room for about 3 minutes when one of the girls from the other room pulls her out and said she is in the wrong room. Ok. So we go into another room. She won’t take off her bikini top OR bottom. She just gave me a bad CBJ and then got on top just sliding her panties to the side. Make sure to ask the girl ahead of time and negotiate this as part of the deal. Meanwhile the door is open and girls are walking back and forth. To make things worse, only after about 5 minutes she is telling me to hurry and cum. I said, “huh?????” She said that the time starts once you entered. Time includes showering, taking off clothes, getting interrupted, etc. I should have been pissed but I was just laughing because I was in shock. I guess THIS was the Amsterdam RLD my friend warned me about. Last night was the equivalent of me hitting the lottery if all girls are like this girl tonight. I was really lucky last night.
Simply put it was the worst session I’ve had out of who knows how many hundreds of girls I’ve seen. This was the first time in 6 years of hobbying that I didn’t orgasm. Even if I COULD come in 10 minutes it would be impossible with the door open and the general rush attitude of the girl. I’d rather pay $200 or $300 an hour for unrushed GFE quality than waste 50€ ($61) for a rushed horrible session. Now that I think about it I totally lucked out last night. For whatever reason that girl was attracted to me and she was not rushing me out the door. That is rare here I guess? I guess my luck ran out.
My suggestion is ask where the girl is from. If she says Amsterdam, get the hell out of there. It will be a big waste of money. Last night I could have gotten the best girl and tonight I could have gotten the worst girl. Oh well.
Because of that horrible experience I’ll never hobby in the RLD again. Come to Amsterdam for the beauty of the city, the wonderful people that all speak English, the coffee houses (if you spoke pot), but if you are looking for good sex there are too many other areas around Europe to go to. Still, I guess if you’re all the way in Amsterdam you need to at least experience it.
Before anyone mentions it and asks why I didn’t go to the other options….like I said. I’m not in the mood to go to high end clubs since I’m going to Paris and Prague. It was more of the experience to see how it was going to be. It’s about 2:30 AM and I have to wake up early to go to Paris tomorrow by train. Ciao.

I got a kick out of your last shot of the public piss hole. The first place I look for anywhere I go is the restroom because I pee more times in a day than most people do in a month. Seriously. Getting out of Manila on the way to Angeles City took over an hour and the driver said traffic was not bad. 40 minutes into the trip I knew I needed a pit stop and NOW. No problem. The main boulevard had these little open places for guys to take a leak. It was basically a piece of sheet metal about neck high slightly wrapped around a pipe that went into the ground several feet or so. Maybe less. I hopped out of the car onto the sidewalk while my driver just waited and stopped an entire lane of traffic. Lots of horns honking and me wondering what I would do if the driver drove off and left me there.

I think the company which manufactures these piss stand up things has a great future... especially in countries where beer is very popular.
Name of the company? Hey, Wall street traders, a great stock to own!!!!!
Seriously: Amsterdam is just for tourists (sex as mainstream tourist attraction)and just live on its reputation. Real hobbyists need to go elsewhere and find new hidden territories where professionnal sex is not already an industry but still the "best kept secret" type of business. Croatia? Budapest? Bratislava?
By Godfather on Sunday, May 16, 2004 - 06:14 am: Edit |
Yeah. Those piss stands were funny to see. I have one picture with a whole truck load of those things. This truck would come and load them on the main tourist area every day. It's funny. At night there would be maybe about 10-15 of them together and you'd see tons of guys just pissing in them. I'd never seen anything like that in Europe. Good deal though as all the other WC's in Europe charge money to use them. Amsterdam had other public restrooms but you had to pay to use them.
Also, I posted that picture of the building with the hook on it because something interesting in Amsterdam is many of the buildings built their stairways very very narrow so furniture can't be brought up them. You'll see most of the buildings have hooks outside of them. They use them to bring furniture up on ropes through their windows.

Ahh, Amsterdam, that's where I got my start, Godfather. I'm just glad that I ended up with a helpful chick my first time then followed up with a whole LOT of on-line research. Unfortunately, there are quite a few bitches and theives in the RLD, but there are also some real gems.
Too bad I haven't been keeping up with the reports because I would have directed you to one of the many prives in town.
As far as the walk of shame, I found that after I'd gotten to know the place, I became downright cocky walking around (and you well know that's not my style). I'd chat with the girl for a minute or two before going in or moving on, paying no attention to the tourists walking past me.
Exiting the kamer was always the best part. If the girl was nice, I'd step out, blow her a kiss, give the tourists big grin, then stroll away with my head high. Of course if the girl was a bitch, I'd make sure she saw me telling any guy in the street not to go anywhere near her.
You know, I have no trouble going in and out of those kamers in full view of the tourists (even in the middle of the afternoon), but I had the worse time peeing in those plastic urinoirs ... too damn shy!
Great story, old man!
By Godfather on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - 02:11 pm: Edit |
Funny! I'm NOT a shy guy but I would never get used to going in and out of the apartments in the RLD. I got damn lucky my first night with that hottie. The second night was the worst session of my life! I didn't do too much research on Amsterdam and it's ok. I didn't even know if I'd hobby. I was saving funds for Prague and my novia in Paris.
Yeah, I never used those public urinals either. The funny thing is I'd probably rather use one of those than do the walk of shame.. Go figure.
If you happen to be in Amsterdam then you should do the RLD just for the experience but Amsterdam is NO WHERE you would specifically go to just for sex. The city IS beautiful though. I love the fact that everyone speaks English so communicating is not an issue. Just like London.
By Wombat88 on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - 02:43 pm: Edit |
Ha, ha, that's right, you're certainly not shy. I guess where Amsterdam turns me into Mr. Hyde, it turns you into Dr. Jeckle.
What's really weird about Amsterdam is how many American's think it's the end-all, beat-all, of the sex world. I mean, it's really great, but let's not get carried away. I have an on-line pal, for instance, who won't go to SEA or S.America just becaus he's afraid someone will rob or kill him.
One more note about the Red Light District, readers should be aware that not only are there three of 'em in Amsterdam (well, four really, but you don't want to know about the fourth), but many other Dutch cities have terrfic sex shopping zones.
