I have recieved a lot from this foruma nd just want to add a little to help those that will be going to the DR especially sosua.

My Trip has been as follows:
Day One
Flew in to Peru Lima from the US. Landed in the evening. Used the left line as I was advised and things went smooth and fast. Was called by some ladies at the airport that wanted to help (they worked at the information desk). I was to stay at the sheraton. Found out from them that it was dangerous to stay at that side of town and everyother person I spoke to said that same thing so if you are going to Lima do not stay there. Need also to say that I do not speak a lot of spanish. Started training about 3 weeks before I left. Bujt I really did not need it as a lot of the people I met spoke beginners or intermidiate english. Arrived at the sheraton checked in and they tried to trick me into getting a room with double bed. I insisted and got the room that I had reserved. went out that night to Emmanuelle. Nice experience but I believe that I paid the gringo tax there. Paid $25 US to get in.
Was immidiately approached by a girl that looked a 7. Ignored her but later when she came back with her friend paid some attention to her. she looked scared and that is what attrected me to her. she did not look like a professional and that is what I wanted. Her friend did most of the talking for her and quoted $140 US for the night. I offered $80 and we ended at $100. I was also approached by a funnly looking man that insisted on my paying $60 EXIT.But I was at this time upset knowing that I had paid too much to enter. I pretended as if I will leave and the girls pressured him. I finally paid $40 exit with the girl. I do not know if I paid too much but she was worth it all. Had a lot of fun and she did whatever I wanted her to do.
Ordered for some food as I had not eaten anything throughout the day. the food was horrible at the sheraton. (in my book they are the title holders for the Worlds worst food or WWF).
Little advise do not try to eat american food outside the US as it will never be what you are familiar with. when you go to rome try to be a roman. Only excep[tion is if an american is the chef and you know with that you will pay an arm and a leg for the food.

DAY 2
went to the airport at about 5.15am for a 6.10am flight. Got my lauggage chacked in.The lady at the counter tried to have one of my laugages prioritised. Asked what she meant she said that if the aircraft is full they will ensure that at least on of your lauggages especially the one that had been marked gets on. that was not comforting it was alarming and I insisted that I want both things to get there at the same time and that none of my luggages be late. everything went well.
Paid Airport tax about $25. The food on the flight was also horrible. I do not knw why they do not warm the bread. the food was tasteleess and horrible.
AIRPORT IN PANAMA - a sorry sight.
Arrived at Santo Domingo. Bought my entry card for $10. tried to get a taxi they quoted outragous prices ($150 US from Santo domingo to sosua) especially as I did not speak fluent spanish. But again thanks to the forum I was well prepared. Laughed and told them that I can go to caribe and pay $10. they were then willing to negotiate. Ended up paying the normal fare that was $100 US for the trip. They then begged for some money from me. Gave about 4guys $5US to share and they laughed and asked if I have been to the DR before said no and they were surprised because of the information and the confidence that I exuded. Again thanks to the forum.
Got to sosua after a long trip. I am staying at the Palace and it is what it has been said to be. John is a great guy. I was skeptic but now I am pleased I tried. I have not been to other places so I cannot speak for them but from what I know the palace is a good place to stay. One of the girls approached me and we agreed on a price and she was more than I had bargained for. did everything I wanted and more very eager to please.
went out in the evening and had fun at the local Disco. All kinds of girls. light skinned and the darker skinned ones and also very pretty girls. They came to me and tried to go with me. But again thanks to the forum I did not go with the first girl I saw. Took my time and found a good pick about an 8 to me had fun. Paid $1500 DR (pesos)
I will update this report later. But I have to go fun !!!!!!! is calling me.

You got a ticket from US to DR routed through Peru? How much did you pay for that?

Especially since the DR is 2-3 hours off of the US East Coast and Peru, well, isn't.

Kinda like flying from New York to London but on a connecting flight through Moscow.
