I had the chance to travel to Colombia during spring break and let me tell you medllin has changed a lot, even more for a native that left his home city many years ago. You can get perty much anything your heart desires, depending who you ask and how.

Most hotels are well placed around the city such as El Poblado, where you can find the top hotels. If you have contacts in the city use them, they can find you nice apartments for rent at good prices.

Now the girls. There are everywhere from 1 to 10's. Some work in the night clubs others in the street, warning do not pick girls from the street, especially from the area of The Park of Berrio. This is a very popular spot to find cheap sex, you'll see it all from 12 year olds to 60 year olds trying to sell there bodies. It is a dangerous place at night and many of this girls don't use protection. Avoid this place.

To find the goo ones go to the clubs, such as La isla, La torre, Apotheosis, Show Sandiego, face II, nemesis etc.. in this clubs you can find may girls of all kinds. The good thing is that this girls are clean and are working in a controlled enviroment. Most of this clubs have a room in the back where you can do your stuff. As picture taking, some girls don;t mind, other will allow it for a fee and making sure that there faces are covered. Most of this girls are college girls others are total pross. Be kind to them and they'll show you a good time. Speaking spanish helps a lot, but you'll be surprised to find some that speak english.

Many of the hot girls work the weekends. Because of this you have to get to the club early enough to get good pickings. When you make contact, do what ever talk, dance, drink etc..Be warned, when the girl knows that they have a big expender, they became very posesive and sometimes they'll fight the other girls to stay away. Listen also to this girls even if the say something negative about the girl that you are with, sometimes it turns out they were right.

Most clubs don;t charge at the door some do, it also depends on the day and if the place is crowed. Liquor in some clubs go from 25 to 30k pesos to 50k in some others like Face II. The cheap ones are la torre located en la avenida 80 next to EL LEY supermarket and apotheosis wich is 3 blocks down san juan in the same area. Most cab drivers know this places. If you are looking to spend a lot, go to face II, but if you are in a budget go to la torre and apotheosis, cheap clean and safe.

Another thing is that if you treat the girl good and show her a good time she'll do the same, and if you convince her to go out with you, some of this girls won;t ask for anything, but it's always good to give them something. Be kind, generous, friendly and you'll have a blast. I did enought to have a foursome at la torre and small party the next day with the same girls that started at 8 p.m and ended at 6 am the next morning.

The prepaid cell girls: This is new type of pro, they call them the cell pros because that's the way the do business, you can find them at the malls and some clubs. Some cab drivers will mention this when you ask them to take you to the clubs. I didn;t try it but it seems that this girls are hot,hot,hot. Most are college girls with model type bodies. Expensive i was told, but worth it.

Safety Hints: Take the taxis that park in front of the club for safety reasons. Take just enough expending money for the nite and have enough left to get back to the hotel or apartment.

Nice info Vorlon. I'm going to Medellin next week for 4 nights (Thursday thru Sunday). I heard about all of the places you mentioned, but the "prepaid cell girls" is something I never heard of. I'll be sure to research that.

Your advice is pretty much my MO - I'm not afraid to spend a couple of bucks and I treat the girls nicely. I find they usually reciprocate well.

You are the first person who's ever said that some speak English. Usually everyone says the opposite.

I'm staying in El Poblado at the Dann Carlton which I understand is a great part of town. I'll be checking in Thursday night, July 1 and a full report will follow.

Also, I agree with your comment about treating the girls nicely. This is very important no matter what country we visit. For example, if you were to treat the girls badly, how would they respond when other Hombres approach them (after your visit)?

I'm just going to Medellin this time. I wanted to try someplace different and Cali has become a hotspot all of a sudden, LOL.

And going to Medellin is actually easier to "sell" to friends and co-workers. The Botero scupltures exhibited in NY and Paris were very well-received and there are quite a few of his sculptures in Medellin, his hometown. And the Senior Director of my firm went to a Juanes concert at Madison Square Garden (along with 10,000 screaming 16 year-old girls) and Juanes is also from Medellin (downloaded his CDs to my IPOD and Laptop). Plus there's the flower festival in August (return trip being planned already?)

I'll be taking plenty of pictures and notes and hopefully not making too many mistakes.

Wallstreet - you are about to become my hero! You have no idea how long (and I do mean long) I have waited for someone to post a detailed report on the scene in Medellin. It seems that everyone who visits say the same thing or nothing at all; lots of beautiful girls...but no * real * information that a monger and non-pro chaser can really use. There are beautiful women all-over Colombia - what I want to know is how it compares to Cali women. Sure I consider myself a Cali expert, but I still want to discover Medellim. It just seems that there are way too many Americans hitting Cali now..time to find some untouched Colombianas - again! I look forward to your report, and polease post as many details, pictures etc..as you can. Also, if you get a chance in your report to compare the non-pro scene with Cali, that would be incredible.

JKarp - I was going to Cali, but I decided I wanted to go into (virtually) uncharted territory. If I would have gone to Cali, I would have followed in Merlin's/Godfather's footsteps and sessioned with the same girls. And I would have had a great time. But I wanted to try something different so I'm giving Medellin a try. Besides - my reports couldn't touch the ones by Merl & GF.

Batman - I agree. I hear it's great in Medellin, but there is little hard info. I went onto a number of other sites and found some info that was somewhat dated, but I think it'll put me in the right direction. I probably did more prep for this 4 day trip than for my last 3 trips to Thailand combined. And I got some new camera equipment and am bringing a full-size photo printer with me - definately NOT traveling light.

I plan to really only check-out the pro scene, so readers can take heart that any girl I sessioned with is available to any overweight Gringo with barely basic Spanish skills, such as myself. In other words, if I can score a hottie, you can too!!!

You can count on me for a detailed report, but since I've never been to Cali, I'm afraid I won't be able to make any comparisons between the two city's non-pro scene.

Another tidbit for MDE, the trendiest disco as of last year is called Mango's in El Poblado.

Sorry Sf4dfish I wouldn't call Mangos the trendiest disco in Medellin, it certainly is a good disco, but be carefull in this disco, there are a lot of armed Mafiosa there, there hasn't been a shoot out there that I am aware of for a couple of years, but the last one about 3 years ago, 5 people were killed.

I can't compare the pay for pay scene of Cali and Medellin, but you will see far prettier girls walking around in Medellin than Cali, but I would think it is easier to pick up those girls in Cali than Medellin.

Medellin is far prettier than Cali.

The restaurants are better in Medellin than Cali.

The discos are generally better looking in Medellin, but the girls dance better in Cali.

The climate is better in Medellin than Cali.

I have spent approx 1 year in Medellin over the last 1.5 years and only 1.5 weeks in Cali, where I am now for another week, so I don't know Cali that well, but from what I see I will stay in Medellin.

Here is my own version of Cali vs. Medellin. Let me know if you agree:

Cali is the capital of Salsa. Medellin is the capital of arts and fashion.
Cali is located in a valley. Medellin is at a height of 1500 meters.
Cali is hot and humid. Medellin is pleasant, especially in the evenings.
Cali is known for its "cleavage". Colombian industry is scattered around and in Medellin.

Sounds Ok apart from:

Although Cali is located in a valley, it is a wide valley, it doesn't feel like you are in a valley, it actually feels flat here to me.

Medellin is located in a valley which is not very wide and very steep, you certainly feel like you are in a valley, the bottom of the valley is 1,560m, the top of the valley is 2,500m.
