My eternal gratitude to MongerX for his wise counsel and encouragement concerning Batam, Indonesia, before my trip. I wholly recommend his earlier reports on the basics of the mongering scene, an excellent resource with useful links. I won't repeat some of his sage advice in this report since he does such a good job of it. One caveat is that I didn’t have time to check out all the p4p venues due to my limited time there.

This is the first Muslim country (with a Capital "M") that I've mongered in, but don't let the thought of girls covered up in public or the conservative religiosity stop you from partaking of the wild and crazy Indonesian girls. Trust me, the supposed shyness and religiosity are left at the footstep of the bedstool. What you'll find when you uncover their body wraps (just kidding as to bodies being covered up) are some fun-loving girls with some pristine bodies who aren't shy in bed.

Indonesian girls, being Malay, reminded me alot of the Filipinas in the looks department. Very exotic, darker complexion, and some had bodies that could lure a guy to step in front of Mack truck. The majority of the time I got BBBJ, and the girls had nicely formed C cup tits. I would be derelict in my duties if I didn’t admit to loving their tight snatches (if you haven’t figured, I’m infatuated with this).

PACIFIC DISCO

I did most of my mongering at a HUGE disco called PACIFIC. It actually looked like the resourceful Indonesians converted a huge cruise ship (similar to the Titanic) into a rolicking disco with multiple floors. I went to this place each night and encountered hundreds of freelancers in a dance area that must have been the size of a football field. I was literally tickled to death that girls would approach you, often by touching your stomach as you sauntered by. GREAT EGO boosters for those of us with huge Brad Pitt envy. Most of the girls were fashionably dressed and in their late teens or early 20s. Lots of Ecstacy available (so I hear). I really got lucky with the freelancers, only two of whom permitted pics. All were great great sessions. I’ll post a few pics later. The cost varied from girl to girl, but ended up averaging about 100K rupias.

QUEEN MASSAGE

The other place I frequented often was Queens Massage. In this massage, the girls are in a fishbowl area (about 30-40), but unlike in Thailand, there is only a small slit in the window to view the girls discretely. Each time I went, there were literally 2 or 3 9s IMO. The cost was 120K rupia for ST, or 270K LT (or booking as they call it). The 3 girls I had deserve special praise for their near perfect bodies and willing attitudes.

LUCY'S OAR HOUSE/BANANITAS GO-GO

This was also a favorite hangout of mine. The owner is an expat named EVAN who I recommend chatting up to gather intel. He even has his employees Jensen and Marsel provide tours of the p4p areas if you're so inclined. The bar is small, but nicely set up. Their claim to fame is the friendly and attractive waitresses that work there and the small, but festive go-go called Bananitas. Lots of expats there at night-time, and the go-go had a couple of lookers each time.

BTW: EVAN hooked me up at the very nice hotel called Melia Panorama for S$80.00/night. Give him a call as that's an excellent price for an excellent hotel that is on par with a Marriot and in a great location.

STEP BAR/JUNGLE BAR AND ICE BAR

I actually liked hanging out at these bars, which are located next to LUCY’s. I especially enjoyed STEPS bar since it had a live band each night that was actually pretty good. The waitresses are also very friendly and fun to hang out with. The freelancers were fewer than expected, not as many has I would like. But I will post a pic of a hottie Singer that I hung out with that epitomizes the Indonesian Beauty.

The Jungle Bar had more freelancers and the ICE bar had a bartender there that I liked chatting up. Both are laid back places you should check out.

NEGATIVES OF INDONESIA

The negative of Batam is that the monger scene isn’t wide open or in your face. It’s really handy to have someone show you around, like the Canadian expat who showed me around when he realized how pitiful my knowledge of the p4p scene was there. Thanks Harold if you're reading this!

There is also a lack of infractructure, the City reminded me of Manila or Phnom Penh. Some streets had no lighting. And there are thousands of motor bikes and cars all over the place, driving on the wrong side of the road I might add ( :-)right side), which makes it quite dangerous to cross streets.

Although safety wasn’t an issue, it is a bit unnerving to realize that there is a travel alert for Indonesia for Americans. I personally had no problems, but you can see the safety measures being employed around the hotels – armed guards will question you, look in the trunk and underside of each car for bombs that enters the hotel area. I was kind of taken aback one night as I stumbled out of Lucy’s bar to be approached by a group of six, young, scruffy looking guys who walked quickly towards me. Oh Shit, I thought, as I reached for my wallet to surrender it, then they began jostling with each other and shouting ….. NEED TAXI, NEED TAXI??? Lots of offers for taxis or motorbike rides in Indonesia, I just wished they weren’t so aggressive about it.

The other negative is obviously my inability to speak Indonesian. Lack of speaking skills is ok for the area around LUCY’s, but as you venture to other areas, where a lot of other venues are located, it can get a bit frustrating.

Hey Merlin great report and thanks for the undeserved credit. One thing you taught me is that, as usual, I am way overpaying and getting the residual smothering of love that goes with it.

For the Pacific Disco freelancers, when you say you pay 100K on average is this ST or LT? and are you tipping anyhting on top of this?

This is how I seem to pay for disco freelancers. For me if I do a real one shot 45-60 minute short time I pay 150K, if its a longer short time with lots of bar time and fuck time I pay 200K. LT that includes a sleep over with at least two fucks but an early departure I pay 300K. If its a total LT fuckfest through at least the following afternoon I pay 400K. No tipping on any of this or discussion of price.

Next a question about Queens Massage. When you pay 120K for short time, are you taking on site or back at your room? (I have found take back at your room option always available) Now are you giving a tip on top of this?

The 270K you are quoting sounds high and I suspect includes a commission in there for a taxi or guide. Did you state "No Taxi"? If you do so (and you really don't have a taxi who brought you there) you should only have to pay 50K or so less. Did you take any LT from Queens and did you tip on top off that?

Anyway, I am glad you found a cutie at Steps. I am pretty vocal in my opinion that the general selection of girls in these establishments is the dregs and the prices of drinks damn high. However, I agree that the live band at Steps is good and the old band was Great.

Thanks for a great report. I'm headed to SIN and Batam in less than 2 months so I can use all the info I can get. "lack of infractructure" always makes me horny so I should fit right in. Consider the upside to Islamic extremists, they keep away the bible thumpers who have been such a nuisance in places like Cambodia.

HJ, I don't think renting a taxi for a day will be that cost effective. I think the best you can hope to do is negotiate a three hour for 90,000 Rupiah (about $10 US.) Actually,almost all of the P4P action is in the city of Nagoya. So there isn't a need for an all day taxi. Plus you will get screwed big time on taxi commisions everywhere. If you want to get out and see more of the island, I think Marsel at Lucy's Oarhouse does these types of tours. I don't know the cost.

MongerX: your freelancer pricing scheme makes sense to me. I usually preferred ST in Batam and most girls started off ST at 200K, but they quickly negotiated down as there seemed to be ample supplies and very few foreigners when I was at Pacific. In fact, of the hundreds each night, I didn't see any foreigners. I did pay one girl 150K, but I'm a bit of a negotiator and love to haggle, the 100K didn't include tip, which I would pay depending on service of about 20K and they were happy about that. I guess the deals were clinched when I made an additioanl tip conditional on performance at the outset.

As for the bars around Lucys, I didn't take out any girls from that area b/c they were also not to my liking. But I love to just vegetate with a cold beer and shoot the breeze, so I got a good bit of that there.

As for Queens. I liked and used their onsite facilities. No long time, thank goodness as I now see I would have gotten gouged. You're probably right about 270K being high, even though I walked there from the mall across the street, I forgot to mention "no taxi".

HJ: I agree with MogerX that Marsel at Lucy's is the guy to see to arrange hotel, tour and ride. Speaks decent English and is a great guy. The taxi/moped guys were overly aggressive compared to other places, didn't see any meters, and all in it for a commission or a gouging.

Sancho: I think you'll like Batam. It reminded me alot of Cambodia with the thousands of mopeds, street vendors galore, the poor condition of the streets and total lack of urban planning, etc. Moreover, I was there days before the election and it was pretty exciting to see the regalia and enthusiasm of the people. I doubt the Indonesians would put up with the NGO-types. Also, outside of the area around Lucy's, I rarely saw any outsiders.

Learning to speak Bahasa Indonesian is pretty easy. There is very little grammer. And if you speak Spanish, the pronounciation of the alphabet is totally similar. Except for the letter "c", which in Indo is pronounced "che".

With my fluency in Spanish, I was speaking and understanding Indo within 3 months. Though it helped to have a tutor and me chasing girls/"chewe's" a lot in 1989:-)

Bahasa Indo is much easier to speak than Bahasa Malay.

SF4dfish, your linguistic skills and your travels experiences amaze me. You should write some of that up for us someday. I did detect that the Indonesian language didn't sound as strange, as let's say, Khmer or Thai. If it is that similar to Spanish, then I'm going to try to learn it. Thanks for the insight.

Merlin, nice report. I loved the selection at Queens yesterday, and actually booked a girl long time and regretted it when she was HORRIBLE in the room. Maybe the hottest girl I've ever had, though, and when I held firm at 220K for the LT mamasan said OK after some quite frustrating argument with the cashier.

I got a bit freaked out by the language barrier yesterday. I have never EVER encountered girls who spoke so litle English. I'm sure Indonesian can be picked up fairly easily, but I know ZERO at the moment, and am having a hard time. Am pretty damned happy with my initial impressions of Batam, however. The next three days look VERY promising. I think I'm gonna stick with short times myself for awhile, though. Especially with communication so difficult.

I here in Batam with Porker. Last night, I too also started my trip off with a stunner starfish. Only second time I got the no BJ thing in Batam, the first time I sent the chick packing immedeatily with nada. This one also gave no besos.
