Disclaimer

Although Colombia has a reputation for being a haven for non-pro action, especially in Cali, I am only interested in P4P opportunities. While this may disappoint some, it should hearken to others – if you are fat, bald and speak no Spanish, you can still have the same perfect weekend in Medellin that I had. It just takes a few bucks and the nerve to get on the plane.

Prologue

It’s been two years since I took my first trip with hobbying in mind (Thailand) and since then travel/hobbying has become a part of who I am. If I’m not on a trip, I’m planning for the next one. I’m not totally obsessed; I’m pretty successful at work and I enjoy all the things that New York has to offer. Well, almost all the things. It just does not make any sense to me to date regular girls. I have absolutely no desire to do this. It’s a waste of time and money. I have a decent social circle (including women) with whom I enjoy going out – to sporting events, movies, restaurants. But once sex is thrown into the mix, the whole game changes (and it IS a game) and invariably I’m on the losing end.

And knowing what’s out there: beautiful women who give me the illusion that they really desire me and make me feel like a king – leaves me with zero desire to pursue American women. At least for now.

When ranking the best destinations for a vacation WITH hobbying, I take into consideration EVERYTHING (availability of women/attitude, accommodations, food, other activities available, safety, convenience of getting there from New York) and I then factor in total price.

When I can put together a week off, I go to Thailand. For me, it’s the total package: great women, great hotels, great food, great activities and all for a reasonable price. I’ve gone to Frankfurt twice and Costa Rica twice for long weekends (4 nights). I was considering going to Costa Rica again and almost did just because it’s so damn convenient. Leaving from Newark Airport on Continental, I would pay $450 r/t and because I’m platinum on CO, I’d get upgraded to first class. And the trip is only 5 hours, non-stop. I’d leave the office at 3:00pm, get on the 5pm flight and I’d be checked into the hotel and getting laid by 10:30pm. I know this from past experience.

But the adventurer in me wanted to try something different. I had long heard that Colombian women were incredible (never did get to sample one in CR) and recently some very credible posters on this site have confirmed that Cali at least makes for a nice hobbying trip.

I was set to pull the trigger on Cali, but in my research (I joined several other boards in addition to CH) I found mention that Medellin is a fertile hunting ground as well. The problem is, most of the reports read this way: “Medellin is GREAT. Lots of beautiful chicas! And it’s a nice-looking city!! You’ll have a great time, although I didn’t participate in any P4P”. I’m sure the posters mean well, but there just isn’t current, hard info on the P4P scene in Medellin - at least none that I could find.

So I decided to take one for the team. What’s the worst that could happen? No, besides being caught in a cross-fire between drug lords? The worst is there just isn’t a great P4P scene and I waste 4 days. Heck, if it’s that bad, I’ll just get on a plane to Cali and take care of business there. But I don’t think it’ll come to that.

And I guess the possibility of violence needs to be addressed. It’s not that I have false bravado, but I consider myself street smart and wandering into the jungle looking for the Lost City was not on the agenda. Hell, a week ago there was a shootout on the Wall Street subway platform at 4pm! The same platform I use to get home every evening. When it’s your time to go, it’s your time to go. Which doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be prudent. I was very prudent taking hotel taxis to my destination and wait for me, and wasn’t a loud drunk in a foreign land (not really my style anyway).

I concur with all your thoughts here, well put. The statement "If I’m not on a trip - I’m planning for the next one. I’m not totally obsessed;" is one I and probably many others here understand completely, it's an addiction whether we like it or not.

I think pay 4 play is a better way too go. For me the reason is slightly different as I have a GF and would not trust having an affair or fling with anyone where the emotions of the other party could come home to roost.

If I were single the same would apply, no more full time GF's, just friends and then pay for the sex side, there is just more variety, no commitement or hassle, no emotional problems and at the end of the day the cost (especially if you work out the cost per session) is no different.

WS, what an excellent window into your thought process and priorities of an accomplished Monger. I could see myself writing about the same things, but you seemed to have captured the essence of what I believe true Mongering is all about. I also admire you for taking the time to really hash out the p4p scene in Medellin, Colombia -- watch out for the loads of visitors from here on in. I'm truly excited for you my friend and will relish reading about your experiences on this report like no other.

The only thing that concerns me as most of the people on this board starting mongering a few years ago where I have been doing this for decades and it kind of makes me feel really old even though I started mongering in my early 20s. Anyway, great start to the report, can't wait to read the rest. A few questions for you.
1. What did you do with your hotel reservation at the Intercontinental in Cali? Did they charge your credit card? If I am not mistaken you had the same deal I had, 21 days advance purchase with advance payment in full.
2. What did you do with the six bottles of "Amor Amor" that you bought for your Cali trip?

WW, I hate to throw economics into the mix, but I agree with you, P4P costs the same as a full-time GF, and there's a lot more variety. And the boundaries are clear-cut (well, most of the time).

Merl, a compliment from you really means a lot to me as I see a lot of similarities in our style. This was not a numbers trip but it was the perfect balance of GFE in a fantastic setting. I don't think Medellin is going to be overrun anytime soon though. It's a real bear to get to from the West Coast and it has such a bad reputation. People in my office were all saying they feared the worst this weekend - like I was going to get kidnapped at any moment. If they only knew what really happened!

JKarp, I can't believe I forgot to pack the perfume - still siting on my desk! Well, at least it doesn't go bad and I will be returning over Labor Day.

I guess there's an up-side to the very ineffective IC reservtaion system. Unfortunately you got the short end of the stick because of a lost reservation, but I got away with it - they never charged my card! I'll probably stay at the IC in Medellin on the next trip - it's a little up the mountain - on the way to the El Tesoro Mall - Tatiana has been there and she said it was a nicer hotel than the Dann Carlton.

I hate to knock Thailand off the #1 spot after only 4 nights in Medellin, but right now my standings are:

1. Medellin, Colombia

2. Bangkok, Thailand

3. Pattaya, Thailand

4. Hong Kong

5. Angeles City, PI

6. San Jose, Costa Rica

7. Frankfurt, Germany


Now the above ratings aren't just for sessions quality. They include travel time, climate, cost, accomodations, food and activities.

I am going back to Medellin over Labor Day, so we'll see if my first trip was par for the course or an anomoly. My money is on par for the course.

Bkkguru, I have been mongering for 19 years, including 12 trips to Thailand of about a year in total. I don't do much mongering any more, just a bit bored of it. But here is my 2 cents worth.

The Colombian girls are far better than Thai girls all around, although I think Thailand is a better mongering destination than Medellin if you have a tight budget, if you don't have a tight budget Medellin has a large variety of women to offer and is far better looking City than any town I have seen in Thailand.

I think you hit the nail on the head. The prices in Medellin are certainly cheaper than New York, but more expensive than Thailand. The scene in Thailand is huge, but the passion of the women (and I'm very, VERY limited in my knowledge of Colombian women) is better in Colombia. And right now I'd rather have quality than quantity.

Three more plusses for Medellin:

PERFECT climate in Medellin, as opposed to the usual oppressive heat/humidity in Thailand;

It takes 1/4 of the time to get to Colombia as opposed to Thailand (from NYC anyway);

You aren't breathing in fumes in Medellin like in Bangkok.

Don't get me wrong - I still love Thailand - just look at my rankings. But my eyes have been opened and junior has a new toy to play with.

Yes the climate is the best all year round I have come across, 2 months of the year there is a lot of rain, which brings the temperature down slightly, in May and November, I go to another City then.

I have been travelling all my life, since 1 month old, as a adult I have visited 30 Countries, I can live anywhere I want in the world, my only need is a good reliable telephone system.

I choose to live in Medellin.

WS, very nice getaway:-) Why go to SJO, CR. for Colombianas, when you can go straight to the source. Albeit, a little more in-convenient flight wise.

I would go there more frequently, if only the Star Alliance had more convenient flights there from the U.S.

I've met Paisas in CTG, and just love their looks! So I went to MDE last year for the first time. Wish I could go there next month for the Feria de las Flores. I've heard it's the best time to see and meet chicas there?

Colombia is the best destination for non-pro action, maybe in the world (I can't speak for all the world).

For the hobby, I think you need to separate all into two groups, and not in a new way. There is P4P based on numbers - sampling as many girls and having as many sessions as possible. Then there is P4P where you are like finding a new GF for the time you want (not the same as a session with GFE). This latter type is where you like to spend long time with the girl, meaning either nonsessioning time (lunches, dinners, movies, shopping, beach, etc) and/or multiple days. Many of us see these as an good way (among others) to logically catergorize both us and destinations.

Well, Colombia clearly is a great destination for the latter (albiet maybe more expensive than others). It is middle of the road, average, for the former.

Thus, as a top top destination for nonpro, and a great destination for much of P4P, and still good for other P4P - I love Colombia.

It is more convenient to go to SJO, but if you are on the East Coast, all you have to do is get to Miami and then you are 3 hours from the city of your choice on a non-stop on Avianca. That's how I'm going on my Labor Day trip. Continental from Newark to Miami @ $254 and then Avianca non-stop Miami - Medellin for $310 (+ taxes). I'm going up to the Avianca office on 5th Avenue to pick up my tickets this afternoon and get info on upgrading and their Frequent Flyer program, which is partnered with Delta. Continental and COPA are supposed to be buying Avianca which would be great for OnePass members like me. But $600 for Newark - Miami - Medellin is pretty good. Avianca has that special all of September to both Medellin and Cali. They also have some weird "charter" type specials that leave from JFK on the first day of the month ONLY. I saw one to Bogota and one to Medellin. Doesn't look like the dates will work, but that would be the only non-stop I know of from New York to Medellin and it was for $545.

You hit the nail on the head!I like to find a P4P girl that will stay with me for the duration, and that's what I got with Tatiana. It was exactly like having a GF, speding time together enjoying Medellin and well as sex. That's why I think Medellin is the best, you have a reasonably-priced beautiful city as a backdrop and passionate, beautiful women who are happy to show you the time of your life. Add to that the spectacular weather, great food and great infrastructure and you have a winner.

You witnessed first-hand how much I enjoy LOS and I hate to talk up a place after only one visit, but it is what it is. That's how I feel right now and hopefully I'll be able to build upon that on future trips to Medellin.

You seem reluctant to visit Cali. Any particular reason(s)?

I'm not reluctant to visit Cali - it was really 50/50 between Cali and Medellin. One of the factors that gave the edge to Medellin was I had always read from people who visited Cali how ugly the city is, as opposed to Medellin which is really picturesque. Also, I wanted to try someplace totally new and that also gave the nod to Medellin.

Of course now that I've seen Medellin, it'll be hard to rip me away from there. But I'm sure I'll be visiting Cali before long.

Was in CTG in May and Baranquilla. Lets just say they dont get any better looking. PERIOD!! I did the non pro & pro action. Pro action in CTG is off the richter scale. Non pro action in Baranquilla is a HEARTATTACK. I'll email pics to those requesting.

Bat21, I got some Amigas from Baranquilla who are begging me to come over there and I called them when I was in Cali on my last trip and one of them offered to come to Cali on her own but I was already occupied other amigas. This Amiga from Baranquilla sent me her video in which she is dancing and she claims she just made that for me and let me tell ya, I can't wait to go see her. But again, I can't go to everywhere in Colombia, I got to draw the line somewhere. I will visit Baranquilla soon as Shakira is from there and what I see on Amigos the girls from Baranquilla are more stunning than rest of the Colombia.

Bats Homepad picture is the woman I think of to get rid of a Hardon in an embarassing situation. Even with all the Viagra in the world I don't think I could get it up for that girl.

Congrats on Tatiana. From the pictures alone you can see that she is a great girl. she just has a friendly look in her eyes. No matter where you go, when you get that sort of quality it is best to stick with it as long as you can.

Other than South amrica I have been to all the places you rank, and for me Frankfurt and the FKK scene still are well above Hng Kong and Bangkok, but maybe it is because I like white girls I can talk to.

Peter29, I had been to all the places Wallstreet mentioned and more but had never gone to South American till May of this year and now I think I am hooked on it. I can understand why Brazil and Argentina fans are so fond of these locations. I have been to only one SA country, Colombia, and it is just great, plain and simple. I will be trying the other countries soon but I think this year is a Colombian year for me.

If you have not tried SA then please do as it is a great experience.

My rankings take into consideration EVERYTHING, from cost, to getting there, to activities other than sessions, etc.

The sessions I had in Frankfurt were first-rate. And I'm sure Frankfurt has other things to offer and for someone who speaks German, the FKKs must be heaven.

But if you aren't local, then you have to factor in getting there and between the flight, time difference and renting a car (+ expense of fuel!) it just becomes a very expensive proposition.

Having said that anyone who finds themselves in Germany should check out the FKKs - I highly recommend the experience.

I totally know how you feel Wallstreet. For the past 3 years I've pretty much traveled non-stop. I've taken almost 40 international trips in less than 3 years. (You do the math). I was always planning my next trip. I've always said I lived my life like a doctor told me I only had 2-3 years to live. I had a HELL of a lot of fun but I also spent a helluva lot of savings doing that.

Unfortunately no more trips for a while. I decided to leave the corporate world and move to Buenos Aires to study and work a little (i.e. make no money for the next few years).

Medellin is still on my list of places to hit. Now that I'll be living in South America maybe I'll try to hit Colombia again when I have time. Colombian girls are some of the hottest in the universe. I'm looking forward to reading your report. Thanks for sharing.

Peter, I've never had any problems talking to girls in Asia. The white part, I agree is hard to come by tho. Being an English speaker, I had more trouble communicating at FKKs than anywhere else.

Great to hear from you! While I will admit I wrote this report coming off of the best P4P experience of my life, a solid month later I can still only think of Colombia.

It's not for everyone; but if you want to go someplace with very few Americans (didn't see one outside the airport), great food (Thai food is great too, but the meat in Colombia is unreal), reasonable prices for everything (not as cheap as Bangkok, but cheap enough) and incredible looking women, then Medellin ranks way up top.

Then throw in it's 5 hours to Bogota from Newark (and I know you're based out of Boston - close enough) and the weather (at least in Medellin) is PERFECT - low humidity, 70s during the day.

So it's faster to get to than Germany AND only a one hour time change. Do I even need to compare that flying time to Bangkok?

I return in 4 weeks. We'll see if I'm still as enthusiastic!

Ya work has been turbulent (3 layoffs since we met in NY) and I've been running around trying to compensate for lack of bodies. I was dreaming of heading back to Thailand this winter, but perhaps Columbia is what the doctor orders since I'll probably only have 6 days.
