En route to Nogales, AZ from Denver last week, I stopped to check out Agua Prieta. I was originally going to stay 2 nights but due to bad planning I left a day late and was only able to stay 1 night. This was a bad mistake on my part.

I arrived in Douglas, AZ around noon last Friday (July 2nd). Just before the border crossing after passing the Checker Auto, take a left at the public parking sign and there's a secure lot for $10 per 24 hours. I then hit the duty free store for some cheap smokes and crossed on foot.

I chose to stay at a Hotel called La Hacienda (400 pesos) it's walking distance from the border, it had nice clean rooms, good a/c with a bar/rest. Immediately after crossing you'll see calle 1 that runs parallel to the border...go left (east) about 3 blocks until you see Av 6, take a right and you're there.

After a shower I took off on foot to exchange some money, buy beer, and water etc for my fridge at the hotel. Now, it was about 1:30PM and I decided to take a cab to "the zona" which is located around calle 3 and av 15. This is a rundown part of town that has unpaved roads and looks like a warehouse district. Cabs are scarce in this city and all cost the same...$5 or 50 pesos. If you find a good one get his phone number or you'll spend forever trying to find one. Unable to find a cab I made friends with a guy delivering water and gave him 50 pesos for taking me there. It was now a little after 2PM.

I first went to Flamingos...very dead as expected...there was one young hottie talking to a local borracho and a fat chick snorting some drug. The bartender offered to bring me some more chicas, but I decided to move on. I then walked into Paraiso...no-one was there but I sat down at the bar anyways and ordered a bottle of water and talked with the fat but nice bartender for awhile. She then asked if I was looking for a chica and if I'd like to meet some. What the hell I thought...and said sure. About 10 minutes later a real hottie around 24 years old, 5'8", slender, childless, wearing only some skimpy shorts and a tube top with great tits came and sat down next to me...excellent I thought! Then, a strange thing happened...another one arrived who was old, fat and uglier than a mud fence. I mean this broad was disgusting. I'm normally extremely polite when in Latin America but after giving her many subtle hints that I wanted to talk to the other one, I finally asked her why she was here? I thought at first maybe she was there to provide translation but as I'm fluent in Spanish obviously this was not the case. After turning her down for buying her a drink, giving her a cigarette etc I finally told her I would give her a cigarette if she would leave. She agreed and I was able to finally talk to my hottie. She claimed to have just arrived from Chihuahua, was new to the biz and was there to earn $$ for her sick mother...blah blah. I then proceeded to talk to her for a half hour or so to build a little chemistry. I then told her I would return later to see her (not my intention) and she suggested now...I agreed and quickly negotiated 400 pesos for a full hour, bbbj, and 2 times. As always, it's very important to make everything very clear upfront. We then proceeded to her room and it was a great GFE experience once she was comfortable.at first she didn't seem to know what to do so I just made out with her for awhile until things became mutual.

Turns out, at both Flamingo and Paraiso there are many gals that live in rented rooms on premises...so, if you arrive during the day and they ask if want to see chicas...say yes and tell them what you want as the chicas are in their rooms sleeping or whatever. (They're more than happy to wake up) Also, in any of these places you'll be lucky to find a rusty sink with running water. I'd advise bringing a small bottle of Purel and a couple of paper towels or some handy wipes if you want to clean up. All the gals I encountered were very clean.

I then returned to the main bar around 4PM and there were a few gals and a really petite hottie...I talked to her for a bit but decided to wander across the street to 5to patio bar. To my surprise there were 8 gals.mostly younger with 2 hotties and 2 do-able. However, I decided to find a cab and return later. I returned to Flamingo and had them call me a cab.

After talking to the cab guy for a bit I asked him about a massage place...he said there were none but that he knew a gal that was a little chubby but very pretty that cost $20 for an hour. I said let's go and after a quick phone call he took me to some run down hotel. I knocked on her door and she was very nice looking, friendly with great breasts. I only confirmed that the price was 200 pesos for a full hour and didn't inquire about extras. We then both fully disrobed and she proceeded to give me a very sensual massage while having a great conversation. When it was time to roll me over she proceeded to give me a great bbbj followed by her on top for a long time and I finally finished with doggie. I gave her 250 pesos and tried to get her number but she said she was returning to Chihuahua the next day. I had her call my taxi guy to return me to my hotel.

After resting up, eating and showering I had the hotel call me a cab and had him take me to Club Taurus. This is a local's tittie bar located in a decent part of town (calle 3 av 21). I arrived about 9PM and the place was dead, just 8 guys and a fat chick sitting at the bar. I had a beer (Tecate only, 200 pesos, 12 oz bottle) and then called my new taxi guy to take me to "the zona". BTW, my Mobile Phone (Nextel) worked perfectly off the US system.

I arrived and went into Flamingo at about 9:45 and there was a great full blown ranchera band playing, about 20+ gals and some local guys...no gringos. Half of the gals were old fat pathetic ugly hags and the other half were do-able with 4 being real hotties. Beer in all 3 of these clubs in the Zona is the same...250 for a can of Tecate or a 7 oz bottle. They also have quarts. (Next time I'm bringing my own good Mexican beer and paying them a serving fee, I hate Tecate cans) The price for the chicas is 350 for a 7 oz bottle. If the waiter is friendly it's smart to give him a good tip on the first round as to use him for chica advise later on. After a couple of cans of Tecate, I was about to leave and in walks a mid 30's gal with an older lady. This gal was beautiful and defiantly girlfriend/ wife material. I asked the waiter and he had no idea who she was. I then took off to scout the other bars knowing I would return.

I then went to Paraiso...there were about 8 chicas...3 hotties and 5 hags. My gal from earlier was there and all made up...she looked really hot. Also, the hag that wouldn't leave, from before was there all made up also but you can't polish a turd. It's beyond me why some of these gals are there.

After talking to my gal for a bit I left to check out el Patio Club. To my surprise there were about 20 gals, some local guys and no gringos. About 6 of these were hotties and the majority were do-able...no hags. I sat down at the bar and in walks this gal that was a solid 9...wow I thought. I talked to her while she was cutting up cucumbers making some food thing. I confirmed that she worked there, that 400 pesos would buy me a full hour with bbbj and 2 times at the nearby motel and told her I would return.

I then returned to Flamingo and after a beer I had the waiter ask my future wife to join me and we proceeded to talk and drink a few beers. She supposedly didn't work there and was from Hermosillo and was there because she had some cousin the band. Of course I said that a taxi brought me here and that I had no clue to what kind of place it was. After about 3 beers I asked her if she wanted to go to the nearby motel to relax...she said yes...I about died and off we went. The motel wanted 100 pesos for an hour...but seeing that they weren't exactly busy I told him 100 for 3 hours and he agreed. I then proceeded to have an incredible GFE experience, 2 rounds etc...Then, I returned with her to the bar almost 2 hours later. I then handed her a 500 peso note.she looked surprised and said what for? Thinking fast I told her I wanted to buy her something special but since there were no stores nearby, she could find something later. Finally she agreed and took the $$. I almost made arrangements to have her be my novia etc.but my head above my shoulders did the thinking and I told her I'd see her the next day knowing I would never return. I value my bachelorhood and the variety of life.

I then called my taxi guy and returned to Taurus at 1:30 or so. The dancers were ok but the place was pretty dead and the local gals hanging out were a little scary. I was told that FS is available for 500 pesos upstairs with the dancers. The local gals you have to take-out. I drank 2 beers and I was feeling a little spent after my previous gal so I didn't pursue anything. I then went to a place about a block away called Iguanas. This was a very nice normal club and my taxi guy told me that some semi-pros work there and if a gal likes you can have an all-nighter for 500 pesos. I will return in pursuit of this. However, having one more place to go I drank a beer and called my taxi to take me to a new night-club on av 6 y calle 5 called Antiguas. They asked for a 50 peso cover...I said no but they let me enter anyways. There were some hot gals but at 200 pesos for a private dance I chose to drink my beer and return to my hotel. Customs were real assholes the next day when crossing the border but such is life.

All in all, I thought Agua Prieta was fine and safe. Plenty of chicas, no gringos, good prices and only 13 hours from Denver. In the last 2.5 years I've spent 4 months in Colombia and 8 months in Central America and as I haven't been down south for awhile I was suffering from withdrawal. This was just what the doctor ordered. Also, this is a normal town and no touts or tourists.

I then left for Nogales to spend a couple of days/nights with a civilian non English speaking Latina met via the internet and had a great time. Driving back (Monday) I noticed on the map, a city called Las Palomas about a half hour south of Deming, New Mexico. I was feeling the urge so I drove to the border. There's a free parking lot and a great duty free store. I bought 3 bottles of 1800 Anejo for $25 ea (a great deal) 3 cartons of chokes for $13 ea..put them in my backpack and walked across.

This is a hot dusty small town but I knew there had to be chicas. After walking about 5 blocks straight south on the main drag I saw a place called Panchas on the right. It had the familiar "no menores" sign on the door so I went in. There was only myself and a pretty hot bartender in her mid 20's. I ordered a drink and proceeded to talk to the bartender for awhile.we hit it off well and she was very friendly. I then asked if this was a bar with chicas and she said yes. However, there were elections the day before and the chicas had all returned home to vote and wouldn't be back until 5. It was 3PM on a Monday and I didn't feel like waiting 2 hours. I then asked her about other places in town and she said there are 4. But I would only find fat ones, if anything at all, until later in the day. I then thought "what the hell.I asked her if she wanted to make love with me. She thought for a second, said she'd be right back and she returned with some lady to take over the bar. I negotiated 450 pesos and we went to her room. This place has its own rooms where the chicas live. I then proceeded to have a really good GFE session; she was a great kisser and had awesome tits. I will return for a repeat as this gal was that good. I then returned to the bar both to have another drink, to thank her and tell how grateful I was. I then took to the street and directly across the street was a big place called Flamingos. Nothing interesting was there but there were many rooms in an enclosed courtyard. I'm sure this place is good on a normal day/night. Like Agua Prieta, if you arrive during the day and nothing looks good, have them wake some up as these clubs stay open until 4 or 5 in the AM. There were 2 other places on the main drag.one called 2 x 4 ladies bar and one called Strato 7 or something like that. After getting a bite to eat at a very good clean restaurant, I then returned to Panchas to see if my bartender lady wanted to do a round 2.she said yes, but no go, as the other lady was not available to watch the bar. I was bummed but knew I needed to get going so I turned my pesos into dollars at the cambio and headed north. Customs was a breeze and off I went.

I don't know if I'd make a special trip just to go there but it's worth the time if you're in the area. As it's about 9 hours from Denver I'm going to return soon on a Thursday, stay at a hotel in Columbus on the US side and check it out in greater detail. Then, I'll return to Agua Prieta for Friday and Saturday and hit it again Sunday afternoon on my way home. I have to do this bartender again.

Excellent report. Your experiences sound pretty similar to mine in Agua Prieta.

Good info. I've been to AP twice, both times on quiet nights mid-week. I consider the services to be much better than in Nogie, and of course much, much cheaper. The girls are nowhere near as hot as the Nogie putas but I'll go for service and value instead of overpriced good looks any day.

Due to the recent Nogales changes, we should all meet up in AP.

Funny you should mention that. After a year off of the Southwest Circuit (San Diego/Tucson/El Paso/San Antonio) for business (which only coincidentally mirrored my 5-trips-in-12-months Rio binge), I'm headed back out on the road and will undoubtedly be hitting Nuevo Laredo, AP/Nogie, Juarez and TJ once again. When I'm in Southern AZ I usually spend one night in Tucson than a night or two in Sierra Vista, so AP is actually closer than Nogie. I seem to remember the drive from Sierra Vista to Douglas as being about 50 minutes, with the cool section over the mountain at Bisbee and then the valley down to Douglas. Maybe it's because I'm just passing through but that is some beautiful country and almost worth the drive late in the day just for the views and the scenery.

Your right about Pancho Bar in Las Palomas.No hotel in Columbus ,though.Hotel San Francisco in Palomas is just fine,$15 US nightly,only 2 blocks North of Pancho's bar.You can bring your car there,no hassles.
