We had another round at 6am and then went back to sleep until about 11am. And of course went at it again. As we were lying in bed, Tatiana’s cell phone rang – it was one of her “friends” from Cartegena. They talked for a couple of minutes and then she hung up. She said he wanted her to come to Cartegena and she told him fine – where’s the ticket?
Well 5 minutes later Cesar called back and said there would be a ticket waiting for her at the airport for the 5pm flight. Tatiana was very happy; her Mother is her only family and she’s terribly homesick for Cartegena.
Of course I’m in a quandary. I’m having great session-after-session with this girl, the chemistry is perfect, and I’m really enjoying her during non-session time. I’m starting to curse myself for not having just told her I wanted to have her for all four nights. That thought had crossed my mind when we woke up Friday morning – offer her 1,000,000 pesos for the 4 nights. I figure a MILLION would have blown her away – and saved me 200,000 off the original 300,000 per night rate (not to mention I wouldn’t have to pay the 100,000 exit fee at Face Dos). I know a MILLION sounds like a lot, (and it was SUPPOSED TO to Tatiana) but it’s $386. And while that number may make some people cringe (like Blazers) as point of reference I paid that in ONE day at FKK Atlantis in Germany for the entry fee and five 30-minute sessions (and they were great!). So with that analogy there is no comparison. I was getting the total package with Tatiana.
But the opportunity had passed. I went to take a shower while she skipped around the suite. When I was drying off, she asked if I minded that she went to Cartegena. I told her it was no problem – she should take advantage of the free plane ticket. Her plane left at 5pm and I asked if she had time to join me for lunch?
Tatiana then asked if I would “like her company” for the next two nights. Not wanting to waste another opportunity, I said yes, stay with me until I leave very early Monday morning (4:00am). She jumped all over the offer and we started another kissing marathon.
When we came up for air, she called Cesar and left a message saying she wasn’t coming today. She jumped in the shower and I looked at the previous days’ photos on my laptop. Damn, this internet-less suite is really cramping my style. Another reason not to come back to the Dann Carlton [Note: I’m leaning towards the InterContinental for my Labor Day trip and they have Wireless Hi-Speed Internet in the rooms, according to their web-site].
As Tatiana was getting dressed her cell phone rang and she spent the next 5 minutes getting yelled at by Cesar. She was making all these faces while listening to the tirade, every now again saying “si”. When that was over, she jumped off the bed and said let’s go eat.
We went downstairs and jumped into a taxi. I had him pull over at a Bank of Colombia ATM and withdrew 400,000 Pesos (the max). Tatiana asked what I wanted to eat and I said Chorizo or steak at an outdoor restaurant. The weather was spectacular and I wanted to enjoy it. She asked the taxi driver for a suggestion and after going back and forth on what I wanted he said he knew a place for steak that was a little ways up in the mountain, near La Fe (like that meant anything to me) and it was his favorite place.
I was fine with it and Tatiana and I settled back for the ride. Well, we started going up the winding road of the mountain and the views of Medellin were just incredible. I started taking pictures out the window, but the taxi driver said in a little bit we would come to a really good spot for photos and he would pull over. So I just sat back and held hands with Tatiana.
I noticed that Tatiana was not as animated as usual and I was wondering if it had anything to do with Cesar. I asked her and she said the winding roads were causing her to get a little light-headed. And I’m sure the rising elevation was helping either. The driver said we were only a few minutes from the rest area and we would be pulling over there.
We pulled into the viewing area and were the only ones there. Well the old adage a picture is worth a thousand words holds true.
I asked the driver how much further was La Fe and he said maybe another 20-30 minutes up the mountain. Tatiana didn’t look too good so I said why don’t we just go back down and get something to eat in town. But Tatiana would hear none of it – but she asked if I would mind if she sat in the front seat. I told her of course and with that we took off.
About 10 minutes later, Tatiana asked the driver to pull over. She calmly got out of the car, walked about 25 yards down the road and started getting sick. The taxi driver gave me some tissues which I brought over to a very-embarrassed Tatiana. I again told her we could turn around, but she said we were almost there and she felt better. She was not a good liar.
We got back in the car and against Tatiana’s protestations I had the driver stop at a little market so I could get her some water. That done, we proceeded on the trip, but it looked like we had stopped climbing – the road was leveling off and decidedly less windy.
The driver pulled over and started writing on a form. He asked my name and wrote it on the paper. He also asked Tatiana to put her seatbelt on. We got back on the road and 200 yards down a checkpoint/toll booth came into view. The driver stopped and paid the toll, which I think was 4,000 Pesos. The one lone soldier didn’t even look at our car, much like the police presence outside the Holland and Lincoln tunnels in New York – these guys are just bored out of their minds.
We were now in La Fe and there was a myriad of shops and restaurants. Many had sausages and meats curing in the open air. I saw one with about a thousand chorizos hanging and would have loved to have lunch there, but that would have been insulting to the driver, so I just let him lead the way.
Then a little further down the road, we saw a simple road side stand that turned out to be our destination. We pulled over and got out of the car. Again, I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
The meat was incredible. The marinated steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve always heard that the beef in Argentina is amazing and I love going to Brazilian Riodizios, but Colombia deserves some of the beef “spotlight” too. They know how to make a steak.
Tatiana wasn’t too hungry and when the owner/grillmaster heard she wasn’t feeling well, he got on his cell phone and 10 minutes later I saw a woman walking down the road from a small commercial center about 300 yards away with a bowl of soup. Just super-nice people.
I paid the bill, 50,000P ($19) for the three of us. To me, very well worth it.
We got back in the taxi and stopped at the public restrooms in the commercial center (500P to use the spotless bathrooms). Back on the road again, the driver suggested we go to one more place just a little further away, where we could enjoy a nice cold beer in a very pleasant setting. Tatiana assured me she was feeling better and the road wasn’t too winding, so off we went.
After 15 minutes on the picturesque road, we came upon our destination. Problem was the gate was locked. The driver got out and got the attention of the guard. He explained that the park was closed for a wedding reception. They did let me take a couple of photos and with the cascading waterfall off the side of the mountain, it would have been a very nice place to have a drink.
The driver asked if we would like to go anywhere else, and I thought it best that we head back down to Medellin. Tatiana agreed and we settled back for the trip back down – Tatiana still in the front seat.
I noticed on the way back down that eventually we ran into the same road I had taken in from the airport. I also saw the InterContinental and saw the road that lead to the El Tesoro mall. I guess there are only so many ways up and down the mountain and all roads bisect each other.
We pulled into the Dann Carlton and I settled up with the driver – 100,000 ($38.61). The plan was for Tatiana to go home and change and meet me back at the hotel at 9:00pm. That gave me time to rest up a little and maybe do a session somewhere else although I had absolutely no desire to – I could barely keep up with Tatiana.
I went upstairs and took a short nap. After waking I saw it was 6:30pm and decided to get cell phone service. While it wasn’t terrible not having a phone, I do like to be reachable. My T-Mobile Blackberry isn’t supposed to work in Colombia, but I was able to make a couple of calls to the office when I first got in Thursday night. Data transmission for emails and internet were refused however.
I figured my best bet was to go to the San Diego Mall and get a Comcel pre-paid phone. I had read that there was a lot of documentation necessary to get a phone, but all you need to bring with you is your passport. I went downstairs and got a taxi, and it was only about 10 minutes to get to the San Diego Mall. Right away you could tell this mall was decidedly downscale as opposed to the El Tesoro Mall, so my plan was working: always look in the expensive stores and buy the same item in the discounted stores.
I entered the first Cell Phone store I found and here is the only time of the trip where my lack of Spanish made things a bit difficult. I pointed to the cell phone package I wanted (179,000P or $69 for a Nokia package). No one in the store spoke a word of English and I forgot to bring my pocket translator. I understood about every third word and over the course of the next hour, I filled out the paper work (you need two smaller than passport-size photos and they will take them of you on premises. They will also photocopy your passport.)
They kept trying to explain the technical aspects of the phone, but I kept trying to tell them I knew how a cell phone worked and I had someone who could show me how to load credits on the phone. But they were so nice and trying to be helpful, that I just sat through the tutorial and nodded in agreement, saying “si” every now and again for emphasis.
The owner shook my hand and kept saying (in Spanish) any problems, please come back and thank you for your business.
I stopped in briefly at an Internet/Phone office, logged on and took care of a few things. I then walked to the taxi stand and took a cab back to the hotel. I then just lounged about for an hour until Tatiana rang the bell, 9:00pm on the dot. Hot-looking and punctual!
I had tried to call her with my new cell, but it was saying I didn’t have any minutes. I wanted to buy additional minutes at the store, but they insisted the package came with minutes. Well, Tatiana confirmed I had no minutes and looked through all the paperwork – nothing. No big deal, but if I spoke Spanish, that wouldn’t have happened.
We sat down on the couch and started making out. She straddled me and started dry-humping me and before I knew it, we were on the floor with half our clothes off, going at it like animals. It was just non-stop with this girl.
An hour or so later I cleaned up in the bathroom and we got ready to go out. The plan was to hit a club, and I had read that the club where the soccer player Andreas Escobar was gunned down after scoring an own-goal versus the US in the 1994 World Cup was a good club with a great view of the city. We called Luis and he said he’d be downstairs in 15 minutes.
We went down to the lobby and Luis was waiting for us outside. We got in and I tried to explain the name of the club to him, but I had written down the wrong info and was actually giving him the name of the cemetery (La Pas) that Andreas Escobar was buried in. Luis didn’t understand why I wanted to go to a cemetery so late at night! So I explained that I wanted to go to the club where Andreas (as opposed to Pablo) Escobar was killed and then he knew the place. He said it was very nice with a great view of Medellin. Now we were on the same page!
Well, we started to go up the mountain and I believe we passed the InterContinental and then it wasn’t far from there. He pointed to the parking lot where the player was killed and then we pulled into an adjacent lot.
Las Palmitas is a bar/dance club and has an outdoor restaurant. We decided to have something to eat first and went over to the seating area. It’s a really cool set-up. There are about 20 separate wooden platforms, each with its own entrance, so that your eating area is enclosed by wooden railings. There’s also a big bell hanging over each table – and that’s how you summon the waiter. It’s very dark – only candle-lit and with the view of Medellin, it’s very romantic.
The waiter came over and gave us two menus. I ordered a mixed grill and I can’t remember what Tatiana ordered. The food arrived pretty quickly and the meat was once again very, very good. Again my lack of Spanish came home to roost when I agreed to the waiter’s dessert recommendation and got some odd concoction of caramel paste, cubes of white cheese and some weird neon-green fruit that had a plastic-like quality. Tatiana got a warm fudge cake topped with vanilla ice cream. Tatiana kept kidding me – saying oh, si, si. Oh well – be careful when you say “si”.
I settled up the bill, a very reasonable $25.31 (they take American Express and all major credit cards) and then we went to the club. There is no cover charge to get in and we walked over to what appeared to be the only untaken table for two. The place is much smaller than Mango’s and has a different vibe. There’s a DJ like Mango’s and the music is about the same, but the crowd is less upscale. I really liked the atmosphere and we settled in and ordered a bottle of Aguadiente. Over the next hour we danced and drank and had a great time. Around 1:00am I was ready to call it a night and Tatiana agreed.
I paid the bill which was as reasonable as dinner, only $16.72. We went outside to Luis and took the taxi back to the Dann Carlton. I settled up with him and we went upstairs, again not being asked to pay the guest fee.
It’s starting to sound like a broken record, but we put on some music, settled in on the couch and started another marathon session.

A MILLION PESOS! - that's just crazy. Trying to overpay to impress her, that's crazy, too. And using an experience at an FKK or in NYC as a point of reference, well that's crazy and irrelevant.
It just saddens me to often read of men saying they do what they want and spend how they want, ignoring local perspective, just to make them happy on a short trip for going without latinas for months between trips...
By Wallstreet on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 - 08:22 am: Edit |
Flhobbyer - You misunderstood what I wrote. Instead of paying her 300,000 pesos a day for 4 days (1.2 million pesos) I was going to offer her 1 million pesos for the 4 days, a savings to me of 200,000 pesos.
There is no P4P girl (Tatiana included) that I would pay $400 a day for - just not worth it.
By Wallstreet on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 - 08:47 am: Edit |
Also, Making a comparison of prices paid at an FKK in Germany and what I'm paying somewhere else is totally relevant in my view when figuring out a budget for a trip. If I decide I'm going to cap spending at $3,000 (or whatever) for a 4-day trip, I want to know what that will buy me in country x, y and z.
I make decent living and my time is limited. It's been my experience with many girls in many venues on many continents that if the first price they quote is within the range of what I know to be acceptable, then I will agree to pay the quoted price as I do not waste time negotiating sums like $5 or $10 or $25. I read in 2 reports that one should expect to pay 250,000 + 80,000 exit fee at Face Dos. That was from reports that were 2 years old. I think 300,000 was very much in that range and the exit fee went up to 100,000.
Everyone had there own style (and budget) when it comes to the hobby, that doesn't mean one is right and one is wrong and it doesn't mean that people with different styles (and budgets) can't have equally enjoyable and successful trips.
I actually do think maintaining local price structure is a valid concern. But not every venue has Wal-Mart prices. And sometimes I like to shop at Tiffany's.

Cool. I guess for some, to have the girl all day for consecutive days, it's requred to pay for a whole day, each day. I've just never looked at it that way nor had to pay that way.
Hey, we have a lot in common with our styles - prefering a long-term GF type hobby vs. quantity and lots of hour-type sessions... enjoying time spent with the girls be it dinner, touring, or conversation. And recognizing that our misery between trips is only compensated for by our time on trips.

WS you observed what I loved about Colombia - Great SERVICE!!! Businesses(restaurant, stores, taxis, etc.,) there tend to bend over backwards for a good(paying) customer. No matter if it's a mom&pop place or an expensive place. Some restaurant in US can learn a thing or two from them. Sound like you're a guy doesn't mind paying fairly for top quality women, more power to you. $386 for 4 days is not bad, especially if you REALLY like the girl and she's HOT. I'm sure she would've took a little less, but what's $50-100 over 4 days if you can well afforded it.
By Wallstreet on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 - 02:06 pm: Edit |
My sentiments exactly Slug! Everywhere I went I received great service and I compensate for that.
And I know there are many out there that believe multiple days with the same girl should be discounted. And I understand the reasoning behind that thinking. And I don't think it's wrong.
But I don't look for discounts from people who provide great service. I go to the same place for a sandwich 3 times a week because they make a GREAT sandwich. Should I try to chisle a discount out of the proprietor because I'm a repeat customer? That doesn't sit right with me. I know what the price is going in, I have the money and I think I'm getting my money's worth. That's good enough for me.
And you said it perfectly: "I'm sure she would've took a little less, but what's $50-100 over 4 days if you can well afford it?"
Geez, I pull $50-100 out of my pants/suits/shirts before sending them out to the cleaners every week - that kind of dough just isn't a factor with me either way.
She was just as happy as I was with our business arrangement. You can't ask for more than that.

Excellent report! Wallstreet, I appreciate you posting your honest prices of what you paid. I usually did that too in my previous reports and still do for the most part. I got hazed alot but really I didn't care. Guys need to pay what they deem is fair. $368 for 4 days doesn't seem out of line for me. I never do paid long term dates. Most latinas if they really dig you will ask to hang out with you or will call or come over. That's always how it's been with me in Buenos Aires, Rio, and even Cali.
On your type of trip though you wouldn't be there long enough probably. Memories are priceless. I really do mean that. You can't really put a "I saved $25/$50/whatever a day" on these type of experiences.
Always do what you think is fair and what you can afford. That's my theory on life and the hobby. I'm not saying to waste money but you weren't. Thanks again for the excellent report.

GF,
Thanks for the kind words. I've always adhered to a policy of reporting very accurately, even when I know what is reported will not be well-received by some.
But it is what it is. Some think I overpay. I think I pay at the high end of the going rate. I don't like to haggle over small sums. As long as I feel I got my money's worth, I'm happy.
Sometimes I may be a little reckless with money, especially in the heat of the moment. But it's been three weeks since I've been back from Medellin and I can say without a doubt the sessions with Tatiana were the best P4P sessions I've ever had. Bar none. At $100 a day it was a steal.

Reminds me of my time in CR. We went to a rest in the mountains called Tiquista. The drive was straight uphill and the taxi stalled a few times. Food was fantastic and they put on a show with traditional dress and dance. I believe you cant put a price on great memories. If she gave you that then its worth it.

WS - that is cool if you are willing to pay those prices. I just hope that T does not run back to Face Dos, and tells every pro to charge 100US for every gringo that walks in the door, because she just got a lot more than that from a recent trick. How do you think Costa Rica got so out of control the way it os with p4p? Hell, this just leads to higher prices in the long run for everyone - not cool!
Don't worry guys, when I get to MDE, I will have these girls fucking for 40 bucks, and bring the price back down for all of you..
Why do I feel I can do that? 'cuz I got game!
Anyway, I tip my hat off to you WS; you still had a good time, and that is what counts. I just hope that we can keep a balance between the high-rollers and the economy monger; so that we can ALL have some fun!

Bats 21,
Thanks for the kind words. I agree with you - the memories are priceless. And at $100 for the entire day/evening I think a great value.
Batman,
We can all have fun, just not at the same places. An offer for $40 for all night is going to get you laughed at in Face Dos, game or no game.
The cover charge is 5,000P - $2 and the exit fee is 100,000 Pesos - $38 - so there's your $40 budget right there. Even if you're an Enrique Iglesias lookalike, the girls that work at the high-end places get high-end prices. And high-end prices doesn't always equate to high-end service, but in my case it did so I kept her around and had an incredible weekend.
I'm sure you'll get girls for $40. Just not at the high-end venues. I'm looking forward to your report and pictures so we can see what can be had for the economy monger. I'll be back over Labor Day - I can always use current info.
Thanks!
WS

In my experience in very high end places around the world I've learned a few things. It IS possible to have cheaper or even freebie sessions HOWEVER you can't be cheap in the beginning. Part of "game" is knowning the psychology of these girls. The really hot girls at high end places I've been to HATE cheapo guys. In many places if you're labeled a cheap ass many girls won't even talk to you no matter how good looking of a guy you are or "how much game" you have.
A better strategy for me has been paying the going rate without haggling to death with them. Then you get to know them, joke around with them, use your "game". Then if the girl likes you you can many times have the girl just calling wanting to hang out and not charging you.
Everyone has their own style that works for them. I think it's one thing to pick up a girl at a club and another at a high end club. It's the same throughout the world. I agree to keeping prices low but I also believe in paying what you think is fair.
I'm sure my thinking will differ now that I'll be living in Buenos Aires and not making much money but I really don't think I'll hobby too much once I move to South America. Ironic huh?

Batman for $40 for a all nighter you should be able to get good looking girls in Medellin.
The bargain rates here are only $12 for a reasonable pretty semi-pro girl for a all nighter, she would be a non working girl from a lower class neighbourhood who needs the cash. There 10s of thousands of girls like this in Medellin, but you may need to spend more than a few days here to meet these sort of girls.
But as Wallstreet said at Face Dos you wouldn't get a girl for $40 for all night including the barfine.
One thing regarding the bar fine, this can normally be halfed, although Medellin doesn't get that many foreigners, many of them that do come short term go to the same places and the management automatically doubles the bar fine rate. So at Face Dos, you may be able to get the barfine for the girl down by half and expect to pay for a all nighter 100,000-150,000 pesos plus.
I saw it for myself in a casa over a year ago, I was paying 50,000 pesos barfine and 100,000 pesos for the girl for a all nighter, a gringo came in and they quoted him 100,000 pesos barfine, which I saw him pay, don't know how much for the girl.
Regarding bargaing for the price and how this affects the girls performance is another thing. Depending on where I meet the girl, I may bring up the subject of cost, I will offer her a realistic amount, if she wants to bargain to much, I forget her, to hard core. After bargaing sometimes the sex is great sometimes it isn't, depends I think on more how you connect with the girl and how potential hot she is in the first place and there is only one true way of finding out how hot she is.
I am sure we have all been with girls that look like they ooze sex, but are a waiste of time in the sack and the ones that you think it willl be just OK and are awesome in the sack.
My bit of waffle for today.
