Made it back to AC. The drive is always part of the adventure anywhere. In the RP,, the drivers remind me some of the South American bus rides took years ago while living in Ecuador. THese guys would pass on curves, high in the andes, taxis would cut in front of buses,, with no regards to cutting it off, or too close.
Well, some of my photos did not turn out, but one or two shows the on coming cars, but yet, it seems that it is all part of the game, no one lays on their horns like the Ecuadorians, or Dominicans, or Guatemalans did. MMM... anyhow.
Clarkton: Permimeter hotel. My first trip stayed here. Mirrors the club is there, but now has GRO's only no dancers. But, the hotel has a breakfast and dinner buffet, 24 hour Internet service, nice pool, gym, a shuttle between Fields and the Hotel.
I had been booked at the Vegas, but upon arrival, they said,," you were suppossed to be here yesterday!!" Well showed em the email confirming the dates, great gooblywoobly,,, their eyes lit up,, "well we have no room ready!" {later heard it closed up,,sorry to hear that because it did look like a nice place to stay!} Great.... I am beat, the loooonnnngggg ass flight is catching up with me,, and need a shower,,, so call the Clarkton, after one or two calls yielded nothing.
Stayed till going to Subic, 24 a nite, and the staff there are always friendly. Room Service, 5 minutes after leaving my room the maid was in there everytime,,,without delay.
Safety deposit boxes are available, and free, unless you lose the key.
I recommend it to anyone who can't stay at the Orchid, because the only drawback is being out from the action, and that is not really so bad in the grand scheme of things. BUT....the perimeter places offer an option for early PM exploring.
Next stop the famous Orchid.
My first time here in this hotel. THough have been there to the pool and lunch buffet,, stayed in the new wing. To me,, the hotel is everything that I had heard and more. Plus some amigos were there. Not noisy as I had heard, and staff is 2nd to none. Next time,,take some chocolates to the staff,is a note to myself. Safety deposit boxes in the room, just make out a code, either with or without your CC to swipe it,, and bam,,, locked away. Really nice touch there.
Other amenities of the Orchid....
Flamingo...well, lots of guys have no use for it,, but I found several there who were pleasing enough and extra willing enough,, but just not enough time. Though it might make for a stop either on the way out, or on the way upstairs especially if you are solo. It is out of the way for a main stream barhop. But with the other places near by,, Las Vegas, Black Jack, KofD, and Infamous,,,,,SANTOS.... you can make a circuit here as well.
The pool,, and bar,,, well,,,,,enough said there,,, fine place to lounge away an afternoon.
Lobby bar,, nice service there,, watched Tyson and Lewis go at it there,, all in favor of Tyson, getting whacked almost unanimous,, save some Swede who rooted for Tyson. Darts, and pool available, and the sweet lass bartender told me they did have darts available if you did not bring your own.
Laundry and Internet ,,,recommend the Biz Centre,, go towards Shannos,, and you cant miss the place. Owned by the same guy who has Shannos.
Internet connection was better than anywhere had tried earlier.
Eating...my pick is still the Ville,,, even though K'Mos,,, got a lot of my business,,, like the set up of the Ville. Both places are great to go solo or meet someone there.
Well, like Rod Stewart sang" got nothing to do on this hot afternoon....cept settle down and write you a line..." except the more writing about AC,, the more the NEXT TRIP becomes clear....so better stop for now....or will be on the plane tomorrow!!!
