Phuket Town (background) and harbor.

I passed by this sign every time I went to my beach. I just had to pull over and get a shot of it. I still shake my head when I see it.

I can't believe I didn't record this story: I ran out of condoms at one point, so I scrounged around in the biggest drug store I could find in Phuket Town. Normally, I'm quite shy about this sort of thing (I know, I know), but this day was different.

I asked one of the clerks where the condoms were. She took me over to another (rather attractive) clerk who showed me their location. I then asked for advice as to which I should choose. She wasn't much help, so I took a collection of different packages, about twenty altogether.

At the checkout she autmatically asked "Will that be all?"

I couldn't resist. I looked at the condoms, counting them and said "Well ... I guess that should be OK for tonight." She and the other clerk gapped at me. "What time do you open tommorow? Just in case." She became professional again, answered my question and rang my purchase through.

If I had been Richard Feynman*, I would have returned the next day and bought a couple more boxes.

One package was too cute to pass up. If you were a teen, this would be your condom of choice.

"Sweeteen" guarantied to lead to teen pregnancy or HIV. Beware of Thai condoms-- except Durex. They are all crap with lousy quality control standards and highly breakable .
