Made a trip to NL Saturday 8/7/04, a week later than planned and a year since the last time.

First off, for those who dont live in Texas, and are visiting the Houston or San Antonio area, NL, is respectively 5.5 hours from Houston, and 3. more or less from SA.... traffic, weather etc. depending. From Houston 2 ways to get there, one take I-10 west, till San Antone, then turn south on 34, takes u to Laredo, or HWY 59 all the way to Laredo. I like the latter route as it is less travelled or so it seems. The other routes offer 4 lanes all the way where 59 does turn into 2 lanes, and takes you through some sleepy podunk towns. However when my lotto ticket blew out the window Saturday afternoon, I pulled overl, crossed the lanes, with no fear of traffic bearing down on me, and found the ticket. Doubt so if taking the I-10/ 34 route. Any other ways to get there are not know to me, however consult your local atlas or AAA.

On to the fun and games...... places to stay range from the Hotel Posada, which is literally right on the river on the Laredo side, to La Quinta, Holiday Inn, Marriot..Motel 6 where the lite is on for u. Take ur pick. Never tried the Posada but might next time for sheer convience of it. Several hotels have shuttles which take u right up to the crossing bridge, most however stop return service after 11 pm. Taxis are available at the plaza in front of the Hotel Posada. You can also park near by and walk over, just depends if you like leaving your car on the street at nite, however the last option of driving over in your own vehicle offers some dangers as has been posted in previous reports. Personally would not do that....but to each his own.
First stop:
Went to Cadillac cafe, cross over the bridge, go up Guerro street till u see the KFC, turn right, go 1-2 blocks and it is on the corner on the left. To yuppie for me, but did have a cool one at the bar, then headed for Senor Frogs, which is about the oppossite direction from Guerro, but it did not open till 9. Went to the Horseshoe bar instead. Live band was blaring away, 12-14 chicas, along the wall and spaced out at tables. Not many gringos, but no problem here.
Now,, I am somewhat of a jokester, and will leave a pack of cigarettes in a bar even though I dont smoke, however, one to two are loaded, the little exploder sticks. So if someone happens to pick them up, and decides to give it a try, BOOM,, good lesson for not putting your tongs where they dont belong.
I left them in the mens room as so none of the girls would get them, since these were some Dominican menthols that I got on a trip there, the name and label in spanish had to appeal to someone.... though left without seeing the results,,, what can one say,,, you dont have to be around to see the punchline so to speak.


On to the Zona........


The Zona:
Did not hit all bars, could not find Paris bar, and am still not sure where it is,,, but here is the list that was visited.

1. Danash: Newest bar in BT, go-go bar dont know if they stripped totally cause could not find a seat it was PACKED OUT..... clean new,,, lots of girls and they were girls, even though it is next to the Western and Alice bars. By the way another club Miramar think was the name is across the corner from Western, it was a warm sultry nite, the trans were out in front of both of them.....slow nite guess.

2. Ta-bu: No girls, in fact walked in and a customer was dancing.

3. Pimp Daddys, Dead,,dead,,,, deader..... 3 times peeked in and nothing.

4. Pullman: Full Strip show... 6 girls, more in and out ..... few customers,,, had a mineral water and left.

5. Blue Dragon, or Lagoon..: Full Strip show.... 6 girls inside, friendly staff, as they all are... but had a cold one and bough a ladies drink for a big breasted chica. The were real article too.... whewwwww

6.Papagayos: Though think the new club had more prettier girls, Papas, has the most in sheer volume. 30 more probably as they were coming and going, and cuming and going. Fended off a few with the old " waiting on a friend " song, which am sure they have heard and know it equates to no thanx. {Did not enquire the going rate, all others had about the same 10 for room 40-50-60 for an hour, but as some others have pointed out that Papas commands premium prices,,,,, but all is negociable.}

7. 1-2-3:GO-GO / up to the individual girl if she wants to strip.... Well dont want this on my tombstone but I have been seen remembered by at least 4 different people from these type establishments on 3 different continents. A waiter from my trip a year ago remembered me here, And I did recall him. Had a cold one, then left.
{A cutie sat with me here, bought her a drink, which as most bars were the ladies drinks were 4 dollars, beers think were same for them. Mens beers were 2-2.25-2.50 depending on where. Did not drink anything other than beer, soda, and mineral water, those prices were about the same in each bar.}

At least 18 girls here. Big open place with the lovely plastic lawn chairs at tables. What can one say.

8.Shamrock: lots of girls 15 maybe more.Here again was remembered by a girl from last year, she is really a nice chatter, cant ever remember the name she gives me.... but did remember her too, even though we have not done the deed.
Crowded at first, then thinned out. Got a waiter to get me a few fajitas from across the way, and the chica and I had dinner there. Drank a few, chatted with her and left.

9. Marbu: I like the layout of this place, as u enter from the main street, u go through a courtyard where the rooms are. Bar it self is large and vast with dance floor. But it was DEADER than Last time...I was stunned... cause bet in the prime it was something. 5 Girls, 7 customers, 2 waiters, one bartender, this was at 0100am.... so maybe the others had checked out, the cuartos did not look occupied though.

10. Tamykos: 20 Girls.. plus or minus. Actually one girl from here wanted to meet me across the border, she has a border crossing card, of course we would meet in the daytime, due to leaving at 0200 would not be a good thing and lead to revocation of her card. May do it or not.... till next time .Had a few brews with her, did the deed, and left.
