First thing in Cambodia that I saw was a moto. There are hordes of them in the city I'd say they outnumber cars 20 to 1. Chaos prevails on the streets. Traffic lights are rare and everyone moves along at about 20mph.

Phnom Penh skyline is quite low. No building being over about 8 stories tall. Streetlights are only along the main streets and looks at times to be a city recovering from some war.

I stayed at the Paris for 20$. I actually walked the first day there to get a look around. Mistake. Nothing really close to Paris. I was the only foriegner in the area it seemed. Moved over to California 2 the last couple nights. American owner is a good guy and has good info. The rooms are from 15-20$

Poverty is everywhere and the beggars are fairly heavy along the riverfront. If you select an outdoor table at a restaurant here prepare for them.

Restaurants for western food are all over. The freebird on street 240 #69 had some good greasy food.

Evryone uses the American dollar here. You even get change in American at times. Girls, drinks, hotel, and food all can be paid in dollars. Might need a little reil for motos in the day being that it's only 2000 reil or 50 cents for a ride maybe a dollar at night. I met a nice guy named Sovann moto driver my first day. Spoke good english and knew many of the spots that I wanted to go to. The few places he didn't know, well he does now. He will be your moto for the day for those who don't want a taxi and the charge is basically up to you. He was there everytime I needed him. His number in Cambodia

The girls are not quite as nice imho as the girls in Thailand but the price is right.
Sharkeys: big place with plenty of girls. Took one out 20$ l/t

Walkabout: bar with many girls about 1$ angher beers.

Shanghai: hostess bars with friendly girls near Walkabout

Heart of darkness: nice air-con bar with dancing. Didn't see many girls and they were actually charging girls after 10pm to get in. No cover for guys. Inside reminded me of some L.A. scene. Too many guys for me late night.

Sophie bar: had a good threesome here. 10$ each had to haggle. Girls will surround you upon entering. Took some skill to shed the ugly ones and managed to grab a couple 7's.

Le Cyrcee: same deal as Sophie. Surrounded upon entry.

Rose bar: like Shanghai a hostess bar fairly small some a couple nice girls.

Martinis: closed

Viper gogo: renovating reopening soon.

Dv8: once again hostess bar took one girl here l/t 20$. She had me wait until 2am to avoid the 5$ bar fine.

It was a nice trip. Laid back. Nice info at California 2. Some regulars show up with good info. Easy to get into a routine here.

Don Marco, prices quoted above are right even though you can bargain for little less but usually take out is $20 LT. If you are into really 8+ girls then you can have a setup like mine but it is way over $20 LT. I have a tour guide/host who I have been using for years as I stay at the same hotel every time I go there and he knows my taste and every girl is a knockout and delivered at hotel. He has yet to bring in a girl that I would refuse.

20 ain't bad-- on par with AC. How would you compare Cambodia with AC in terms of girl quality, service, food, accomidations, and safety?

$20 girl quality is probably pretty much the same in both AC and PP/SR. However, in Cambodia you have a choice between a khemer girls and Vietnamese girls. I have a taste for both, khemer and viets girls but I would say I have done more khemer than viets. I usually stick to very similar kind of food on both places, well cooked meat, steaks, shrimps, etc. and bottle water so I may not be able to compare the real ethnic food. Safety is probably better in AC but I never had a complain in Cambodia either. AC girls know a few more words of English than girls in Cambodia but again never been a problem for me in Cambodia.

Thanks for the TR walkingdude2. I also stayed at the Paris for a couple of days and it was too far removed from everything, the rooms also had thin walls. I like the Hawaii Hotel, which is in the middle of a lot of girlie places.

I'm actually partial towards the Viet girls myself. Love those upright titties. Some of the girls from Martini (what used to be martini) are Svay Pak girls freelancing at nights. Probably some of the most incredible BBBJs IMO.

Sancho, my last trip, I took 3 Viets ST and they each took turns w/ the BBBJ for close to an hour. One gal had big, Mick Jagger type lips. Only place I actually unloaded while BBBJ.

The Viper gogo is located on 702 Kampuchea Krom. Down the same street where Paris Hotel is on. Other than viper not much around Paris although it is a decent hotel. I enjoyed California 2 hotel along the riverfront. Much info there with the American owner Jim and the regulars that come by. Merlin stayed at Hawaii, I passed by this hotel and it looked decent as well.

The Russian market had Lonely planet guides to a number of countries for around 3$

I was looking for a tavern to eat and ended up at this interesting area. It was on street 93 right near Baeng kok lake. Fan rooms here were 3$ a night and there were hippie types all over. The street is unpaved and lined with restaurants, internet sites, and some shanty houses. I went into a restaurant to eat and saw a bunch of young foriegn backpackers watching a movie. They were passing a joint around and giggling at the movie 'Dodgeball'. I ordered a pizza and the waiter asked me if I wanted a happy pizza or just a pizza. It reminded me a little of the Bulldog in Amsterdam. When my order came the waiter gave me a large joint and said it was on the house. Interesting area.

Well merlin/sancho, you two perked up my curiousity about those viet BBBJs. I enquired with my local spy in PP as to where all the viets hang since svay pak was shit down. Here's the info I got back:

DM, there are actually a few houses on the River where you can eat and lounge around. I briefly took a peek at one of the restaurants around 8pm one night, but this was in Feb. 04 and not much to write about; lots of tough looking locals who are rumoured to whip out guns while fighting over the karaoke microphone. However, Cambodia is the funkiest place because the p4p scene changes daily as you can see.

Street 63 is ok, but the girls sometimes don't give BBBJ. It's too professional there. The best BBBJ were from the place that got shut down and some of the mamasan houses in Sihaunokeville IMO (Blue Mountain, Chicken Ranch, etc).

I would wait until Martinis reopens as the Svay Pak girls will go there to moonlight and you can get lucky. Martinis is scheduled to reopen 9/2/04, see Martini thread. Walkabout and Sharkeys will probably be very packed now. If the Martini girls go to Sharkey, theres bound to be some turf wars.

I just saw a report on TV last night "MSNBC Investigates - Child Sex Trade in Cambodia" which featured both Martini and Svay Pak. The report was very sad as it showed many young girls in this documentary. I am not sure if the report was a rerun or a brand new but this is the first time I saw it. Anyway, that may explain why Martini and Svay Pak are closed.

DM: I'll be in LOS next week, but as you know, I'm bypassing Phnom Penh this trip for various reasons. If I can convince Epi, who is there now, I'd like to go to Siem Reap or Koh Kong. It's only Phnom Penh that is having all the negative press lately, Sihounokeville and Siem Reap is wide open, with hundreds of girls out in the open. I wish I could go back in Oct., but probably not, my schedule is such that I can't plan that far ahead.

Jkarp, Martinis was actually closed because the neighbors (well connected) were complaining about the noise. There is confirmation that it will reopen on Sept. 2. 2004 (see Martini thread). As for Svay Pak, I really don't go out there much anyways, but I do have several girls there that I hookup with at Martinis. I'm afraid they may have just gone back to Vietnam. There are some problem houses out there, but several of the large houses have outstanding talent full of clearly legit. age working girls. As you know, and as Sancho always says, Cambodia is actually ok if you stay away from the young ones. And there are plenty of beautiful, adult girls to keep you busy in Cambodia.
