The girl I was meeting in Bogota was from amigos.com and FLmonger had chatted with her as well. This girl had sent me a ton of her photos and she looked like a super babe of model material. I could not wait to meet her and anticipation of having sex with her was working as a double dose of Ciali. Anyway, the ride to Bogota was may be an hour or so and we landed and I was out of the plane in no time. Linda from amigos was going to meet me at the airport but I could not find her. I went from one corner of the airport to the other but she was no where to be found. Bogota had domestic and international terminals so I hoped she was at the other terminal. I had her cell phone number on me and my T-Mobile works in Colombia so I called her to find out if she was at the other terminal. She picked up the phone and I told her I was waiting for her at the airport on domestic terminal. Language is a problem again here as when I chat on the computer it is a lot easier to copy paste and translate Spanish into English and vice versa. I think she knew what I was saying as we had firm plans to meet at the domestic terminal since I was coming from Cali and we had plans to be together for the next two days. I waited another hour or so but she did not show up. So I called her again and this time no one picked the phone up so I left her a message. There was nothing much I could do so I took a taxi to the hotel, Embassy Suites, Calle 7016-22, Bogota – Rosales. They gave me a very nice suite at $140 a night. I registered for 2 guests and mentioned my amiga/novia is not here yet. After settling in the hotel I called her again and again but there was no answer so I left message after message on her voice mail. My laptop was still down so I could not go over our conversation log as I just wanted to make sure there was no doubt that we would be spending 2 days together which I knew was the plan. Anyway, it was evening at this time and I had to go with plan B and I had no plan B. I always prepare for plan B and so far I had not used any plan B in Colombia and did not prepare for this one as Linda and I could hardly take our hands of each other when we were chatting on the internet. Now no plan B and no other information as I did not have access to the Internet. So I decided the best thing was to find an internet café and logon on the CH and see what to do in Bogota. I found an internet café and went over some reports from Bogota, wrote down some addresses and went back to hotel. Got my camera and took a taxi to Casanova. During the drive to Casanova I realized why Colombia was a 3rd world country, a lot of shanty towns, run down houses, ghettos, and just poverty everywhere. There were moments I was not sure about my safety and not knowing the language made things worse. Casanova had may be 5-7 girls worth looking. I like take outs so took a girl named Sandra for 3 hours for 200K pesos and 85K casa fee plus drinks and tips to almost everyone over there. Sandra turned out to be an OK experience, nothing special to write about, she would not allow me to take photos even with her face covered. Sandra did not speak any English other than “fuckie fuckie”. I spent 3 hours with her and sent her back with transportation fee and a little tip. In the meantime I called Linda every chance I got hoping to get her on the phone but had no luck. It was pretty late at night so I decided to call in the night and went to sleep. Next day I slept late and I just did not feel good. It felt like I had very high blood pressure but could not tell for sure. I decided not to take any more Ciali for the day. Called up the front desk and asked them to arrange for a massage in the room which they did. The missus was a decent one and a non-pro but gave me some other numbers to call. I called one of the numbers and asked Diana to come to the hotel for 3 hours at 200K plus transportation. Diana came and turned out to be a knock out, 19 years old, 95 pounds or so, great face and body. She said she was from Medellin. I asked her to stay the night which she agreed to for no extra money. In the morning had another great session with her and sent her home with some tips and transportation money. Settled my bill with the hotel and went to the airport for my flight to Cartagena. I kept calling Linda hoping to talk to her and may be stop by on my return trip to Cali. But again no answer so left another message. From the little stay I had in Bogota I realized Bogota was a much bigger city than Cali and was widely spread out. Another thing I realized was people were not as honest as they were in Cali, for example, taxi driver charged whatever they felt like, everyone at the hotel expected tips, and language problem was not any better than Cali. Meaning no too many people spoke English and when I asked driver to take me to Casanova he wanted to take me to another casa which he thought was better but I was not falling for that after my experience in Cali where I ended up at a wrong place. Had I not depended on Linda for 2 days I would have done a lot more research on Bogota, wrote down some addresses, and so on. But again, even if I had all this information my laptop was not working so would not have done me any good. Lesson learned, be prepared and always have a backup plan in case your computer crashes. Also, don’t depend on amigos.com girls who have thousands of friends in their network as Linda did.

Jkarp, very interesting about Bogota. Maybe the blood pressure sensation was b/c of the high altitude, did this affect you in any way?

I also think Cali people are some of the friendliest I've come across, it's a big enough city but it certainly doesn't act or feel that way. BTG seems so impersonal and huge.

I used to dabble in Amigos.com also, and personally thought the few girls I chatted up were a bit flaky or golddiggers or worse (i.e. "you a U.S. Citizen, No").

Chalk up another beauty to MDE, Diana, this is a city to visit next IMO.

Sorry to hear about your experience with your Amigos.com girl. I've heard of other gringos that did what you did and got on a plane to meet the girl of their dreams only to have the girl never show up. I've had amazing luck with Amigos.com girls a few years ago but I always hooked up with very educated girls from good families. A few of them spoke good English. The key thing is I didn't meet any from Colombia even though that is where I got the most emails from.

The best girls I got correspondance from believe it or not was from Mexico. There are some really pretty girls from Hermosillo. I dated a girl for 4 months from there.

I think your experience is a good wake up call for some guys that might just want to get on a plane to visit their "amor". Communication is a huge key in meeting up with these girls. There were some I was dying to meet but in the end I didn't feel I could communicate enough with them.

One of my biggest mistakes ever was flying in a girl I met in Cali to Peru with me for vacation. Oh well....the things we do for a beautiful girl....

higher elevation must have made some difference but with Ciali I usually get hyper-tension as a side effect. With Viagara I was getting both hyper-tension as well as stuffy and runny nose as side effects so for me Ciali has less of a side effect than Viagara. But of course higher elevation must have made it worse.

I had a great luck with amigos.com girls and this was my first experience where a girl did not show up. As I mentioned, FLmonger also chatted with this girl and mentioned she used many different profiles on amigos and in one of the two profiles he mentions she was from Bogota and in the other one she says she is from Medellin. So this girl is a player and not a genuine one. On my return trip to Cali I met two other girls from Amigos and had good time but I was really hoping to meet Linda as she is just a knock out in her photos but I guess it was not meant to be. Amazing thing one of the other girls I really want to meet is also from Mexico and we chat daily but not sure if she is going to be the same case as Linda.

No offense but this scenario is also possible: Linda may actually have been at the airport watching you from a distance or hidden position. She may not have liked what she saw and may have decided to return without meeting you.

I do understand your frustration and helplessness but I personally would not have called Linda more than two times. Moral of the story: If you are meeting a girl for the first time, it is a good idea to have a second backup girl lined up.

As I mentioned in mail I had an extremly good response from Amigos.com and I may have 2-3 lines in my profile. It got to a point where I lost track of who was who and kept another Excel spreadsheet for my own reference. I am a Gold member of the amigos.com and a lot of time MSN, Yahoo, or AOL screen names are listed on the profile and with gold membership you can see them all. If I see an IM screen name then I just use that to communicate instead of amigos.com mail. Also, for some reason I only tried 2-3 countires, Colombia, Bolivia, and Mexico and had a great response. I do have friends from other countries as well. I know one thing that I am trying really hard and not having much success is to learn Spanish. May be you are trying too hard as well to meet someone from BA.

Linda and I used webcam all the times and I even got to see her private parts on the net and that was so strange and disappointing that she was a no show. As I mentioned, she was one of the girls where conversation started with sex and ended with sex so not sure why she did what she did. I know on one of her profiles she has over 1200+ friends and the other one I think 200+. Not only that, she logs on to MSN but does not reply to my IM and still have not blocked me from her list. So I am really pizzled over this and everytime I see her photos that she sent me it reminds what did I miss.

I never been into a non-pro scenes until this year and I must admit it has made my hobby more interesting and challenging. As I mentioned in my report, I always have a plan B but did not have it this time as I never thought she would be a no show. I can't believe it I actually thought of skipping Cali and Cartagena just to spend time with her in Bogota but I am glad I stick to my plan. Jkarp, there are a lot of players in Medellin and Bogota, some are just pretty girls, out for what they can get, some are from well off families and just bored with life and playing games with people. From the information that you gave above I would say that Linda was something along those lines.

I have a not so nice story that happened to a gringo, who was a good friend of a Colombian friend of mine here in Medellin a few years ago.

He dated a girl from Medellin for a few weeks, there was no holding back she and she was into everything.

After a few weeks he was due to return to the US, the day before his flight he returned to his apt (or hotel, can't remember) to find his passport, credit cards and cash gone.

Obviously he was a bit fucked, luckily enough my Colombian friend helped him out and then the US Embassy.

Now if the girl was some poor girl who stole the passport etc to sell them on, I could understand it, but after the American left the Country, my Colombian friend found out that the women was from a rich family and didn't want for anything, she just did things like this for kicks.

good info. on Colombia. I was in Bogota about four years ago. Was visiting a chica there who was so-so, sincere but my heart wasn't really in it with her. She had some absolute total knockout friends, one of whom took me to go visit meet some female friend of theirs in a minimum security prison.

The bus ride from wherever we were to the the prison location was something I will never forget. I never knew true poverty until I saw these dirty run-down crowded shanty towns which made me feel somewhat uncomfortable. Sure, I was with a chica who spoke the language, but she was warning me of the desperation of this poorer part of Colombia and to never let my guard down.

I always like to hear of other mongers travel experiences when visiting Bogota. It's a city I truly miss and hope to return to one day.

I agree with you with your comments. On my first two trips to Cali I really did not have much chance to see Cali and rides to/from airport in the dark so I could not really see much. When I was in Cali I was pretty much cetered around Intercontinental, Avienda Sexta, and Chipichappe so you don't get to see much. On this trip I had flights to/from Bogota during day time and I could see poverty even in Cali. But nothing that compares to Bogota or from Cartagena to Barranquilla, where you do see not so attractive Colombianas and also poverty that is in line with Philippine and India.
