A few hombres have asked me to rate the four cities I visited in Colombia and also compare them with SEA in particular with AC, BKK, MNL, and Cambodia. Well, I am no expert in Colombia which I discovered this year, or SEA which I discovered in late 70s, but here is my humble comparison.

If someone remembers going to Cambodia in late 80s or early 90s where there was not enough information on the hobby and also there were other activities like bombing, kidnapping, drugs, weapons, and so forth. Well I think Colombia is at the place this moment but it is changing fast. One thing I realized by watching a documentary on PBS last week, Wide Angles, check your listings as they are going to show this documentary all week long, you don't have to go to a remote city in Colombia to get kidnapped. The vice president of Colombia, before he became a vice president, was kidnapped in Bogota and kept in Bogota for months before getting released. At the same time you don't have to be in a remote city to be a victim of a terroist attack, many have happened in Cali, Bogota, and Medellin. This was the same thing in Cambodia back in 80s but you did see a few of the hobbyist roaming around there.

Colombia is also different in its proximity to US. It does not take 18+ hours to get to Colombia. If you are based in Florida you can be in Cartagena or Barranquilla in less than 3 hours. Colombia is twice the size of California and has a population of around 45 million and most of the population is educated unless they are from remote part of the country. This is different than SEA where most of the population is not educated, whatever the reason may be.

OK - this is going no where. Let me just make a few points.

Mongering in SEA is cheaper than Colombia.
I find Colombian experience to be more GFE than SEA but not to say I never had such experiences in SEA.
Body characteristics of the girls are different a bit, it really depends what you like. I like both Latina and Asian bodies along with Europeans, Americans, Africans, Indians, and Australians. Heck I like them all.
Colombia's infrastructure is better than most of the SEA countires.
I have never been into non-pro actions before so I can't do much comparison there.

Oh yes, my ranking of the Colombian cities:

1. Cali
2. Cartagena
3. Bogota
4. Barranquilla

I am going to visit Medelling soon and based on my visit my ranking of the above cities may change.

Thanks for your thoughts Jkarp. We're very similar in that we love women of all shapes, sizes and variety, and we both seem to get some exhileration from exploring new places and finding new, undiscovered "gems" (girls).

I think Cambodia and Colombia, and to a certain extent Indonesia, remain tremendously appealling to me because these places still have a raw, "cutting edge" feeling. In other words, there are still a lot of exploring to do, underlying feeling it's not 100% safe, relatively few mongers, and fewer hardened, professional girls (except LDV). Although I like hanging out with other Mongers, there get's to be a point where a venue gets overrun by Mongers and guys line up for a girl, room, etc. This drives me nuts. Even in CTG, I went during the low season and there were more girls to be had than Mongers chasing them.

As I noted, I still rate Thailand (Pattaya) tops in my books for the seemingly unlimited supplies of beautiful women and the mindblowing, in-your-face nature of the p4p scene there. Colombia's appeal is that it offers up adventure, beautiful and sincere girls, and it's still easier to get to, even from the West Coast where I live.

I've experienced GFE's in both parts of the world, but because my Spanish is better than Thai, I have more fun with my Colombiana GFEs. The Colombiana GFE seems more intense, especially in Cali, because many of these girls genuinely want to hook up.

As I noted before, I've only been to Cali and CTG, but prefer CTG a bit more than Cali for the sights and scenery of the beach.

I agree with you and I still rate PP, SR, AC, BKK, and Pattaya above any other place in the world. I guess my fascination with Colombia and Germany must be the less amount of travel than to SEA. I travel a lot and have been doing that for a few years now so if I can avoid long travel that is a treat on its own. Even though it still takes me all day to travel to Colombia and 11+ hours to Germany and other part of Europe, it is still less than SEA. The good thing about Europe and Asia is I end up doing some projects there so it is both work and vacations where Colombia is all vacations. Even though my company has office in Bogota we don't have too many customers in Colombia so I use up my vacation days to travel to Colombia. So one more trip this year, November or December to Colombia and then more than likely it would be back to Europe and Asia.

Jkarp, unless you have no choice, do not go to Medellin in November, it is the worst month to visit Medellin, weather wise, its colder than normal, because it rains a lot that month.

A few hombres have asked me about my "tricks" on meeting amigos.com girls and why they were not having a great success meeting amigos.com girls. So here I attempt to explain why I am having such a success with meeting a few stunners from amigos.com.

First of all, I found out about amigos.com from no where else but here at this board. Late last year, I think in November, I bought amigos.com gold membership and setup a very simple profile. In my profile I mentioned that I travel all over the world for my job but I had never been to South America. I also mentioned in the same profile that I had fascination with Colombia as I heard so many good things about Colombia. I also mentioned I was going to learn Spanish and I would appreciate any help in learning Spanish. That was it for setting up my profile.

In late December and January I had a barrage of emails from Colombia and many girls offered their help in learning Spanish. I think my profile must have been highlighted or featured on the front page of amigos.com and that must be the reason I started receiving a ton of emails. So every time when I received an email I checked out the profile of the person who sent it and if I liked the profile I replied to their email or IM id. Pretty soon I had a network of 100s of people and I started to lose track of who was who so I developed a spreadsheet with their amigos.com ID, their other email address, real name, city, country, IM IDs and in some cases hyperlinks to the chat logs. For my first trip to Colombia I was chatting with a number of girls on daily basis on the Internet as well as on the phone. So after chatting a long time I got an idea who would be a good friend or companion for my first Colombian trip and I set things up with them and rest was history. For the second and third trip I did the same thing. I have never met a girl in Colombia with whom I have not chatted or emailed for months. It takes time to get to know anyone even on the Internet and you do have to spend a lot of time and money (phone calls) to really get to know anyone.

In other words, I have not used any tricks or anything else. I just have invested a lot of time in communication and that seems to be the key for me. This is what I experienced and others may have different experiences. What I realized is most of the girls on the amigos.com are really looking for real relationships or long term relationships. I had made cleared in advance to every girl I met in person that I was not looking for a long time relationship but a long time friendship and if they were OK with that then we could meet. Even having cleared everything in advance I still ran into situations where things became emotional. So I am very careful not to run into the same situations again and have considerably slowed down my amigos.com activities.
