Trip Preparation

Since my work schedule finally softened, I booked a week long trip to AC/LoS, which I then extended into a 2.5 week trip to include a couple days in PP. However, that trip was a month off and I needed a little warm-up trip to get back in the swing of things… YES it has been 9 LONG months since my last mongering excursion! Don’t worry though; I’ll spend the last 2/3 months of the year globetrotting to make up for it!

This short (4 day) DR trip is my warm-up trip to dust off the ole pecker. It will also be my first trip to the DR and I chose it mostly due to proximity, price, and flight availability. My objectives were simple; relax for a few days, scope out the DR scene, practice some basic Spanish, if I find some lookers, fit in plenty of sessions, and pick up a couple more AA segments (8 to go for elite). After emailing a couple hotels to verify that they have power after the recent hurricanes, I booked jfk-pop 9/28-10/1 for $276 (sweetness!) including all taxes at travelocity.

For research, I read all of the reports here at CH, but found the info to be a little sparse and dated. I pinged Jiimmy, who authored many of the DR trip reports, and it turns out he runs a DR website (insearchofchicas.org), so I scanned their info as well. To be honest, trip reports there were lacking and didn’t have any heft to ‘em at all, but it was a good place to get some basic info via discussion threads about particular clubs, hotels, etc. After digesting the material, I assembled my DonMarco cliffnotes for Sosua outlining places that I wanted to check out for eating, fucking, and chillin’ out. In addition to the cliffnotes, I ordered (from amazon.com) my in-flight reading material, “Phnom Penh: into the Dark Heart of Guns, Girls, and Ganja” since I recently finished Bangkok 8 (good read although I thought the ending could of used some work).

I booked 3 nights at Sosua Palace (monger central in the DR). Dominican John (the manager) responded to all emails quickly and the rooms were confirmed after a somewhat awkward deposit via paypal thru a 3rd party. Other tidbits of prep:

Checked the exchange rate at http://finance.yahoo.com/currency. Lo and behold the peso soared vs. the dollar just in time for this trip—the story of my life

Arranged airport pickup and drop off thru the hotel (15USD)

Checked to make sure no more hurricanes would land while I was there at http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/DRXX0011.html

So with this light preparation, I’m heading BOS-JFK on 9/27, JFK-POP 9/28 and the return segments departing POP on 10/1 in the afternoon.

DM, looking forward to your TR. The DR has been on the backburner as a place to check out. I am very curious about how the Dominican girls are, there were a few in Costa Rica who I found to be fairly attractive (great bodies) and great in bed.

DM, I'm really looking forward to your report as well. It's so easy and cheap to go the the DR from NYC - I've seen it as low as $189 r/t!

Problem is, I've never seen a single photo on this site of any DR girl I would find attractive. I don't like dark-skinned girls and what I've seen up in Washington Heights (the Dominican enclave in Manhattan)hasn't put the DR on my list.

You and I have similar tastes in women. I'd love to hear a rave review from you.

Indeed-- my fare was actually $169, but taxes and fees brought it up to $279.

I never ventured there for the exact same reason as you stated--I find the chicas pictured there unattractive to say the least. However, I can't imagine a monger town full of fuglies, so I figured I would go down and see for myself. I'm always on the lookout for a stomping ground during short duration trips.

The worst case scenario is I chill out for a couple days, get a few massages, and head to SEA in 3 weeks

I was underwhelmed by the chicas in Santo Domingo and at Casa Blanca in Santiago, supposedly where the lighter-skinned chicas I prefer should be found.

Looking forward to a good report on DR. My personal preference is for dark skinned beauties with slim but curvaceous bodies. You know, nice asses and big tits. Apparently, that is not your type. Nevertheless, please let us know what you find, as I have a feeling the DR has a few chicas that meet that discription.

Well I am sitting at the terminal at JFK waitin for my flight back to BOS-- and yes I had a great time, my dick is well worn, and I got a few battle scars in the form of hickies.

Brew- your right that's not my body type, but I did gain an appreciation of those curvy types after spending a few days in the DR. Stay tuned for reports and pics.
