Dakak Resort is located in the island of Mindanao in the Zamboanga Del Norte region. I know you are probably thinking that you don't want to go because of Muslim terrorists or Abu Sayef but this area is almost entirely devoid of any Muslim influence and the resort is completely private.
Dakak Resort is located about a 45 minute drive from Dipolog Airport. The only airline that goes from Manila on a daily basis is Philippine Airlines. The best thing to do is to get the package deal via Philippine Air which includes the hotel, air, transfers and breakfast for about $150 per person for two nights. You could also try to arrange it via your travel agent in the PI once you get there. There are also several flights out of Cebu via Asian Spirit Airlines.
The flight from Manila takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive, the representative that is there will be looking for you with a sign and will take care of the rest, including your bags. One odd thing you must do is check in your passport for a brief time so that the local police can get your information. They do this as a precautionary measure for all flights going into Zamboanga or Dipolog. From there, a van will take you to the resort in about 45 minutes.
The grouns in the resort are probably 5 square miles. Most of the soap operas film some of their episodes here and it has become the hot spot for local artists to relax during the summer. It is a private resort with a long driveway to the resort with immaculate grounds. I went there duringa monsoon, so the pictures do not do the place justice at all. You have your own private beach. The food is excellent. The only drawback was that I felt the rooms were just OK. Nothing special. The views were spectacular but the beach was thrashed due to the rains...usually the sand is bone white. I would say the service is excellent.
Here are some pics to ponder;
