Part IV. Back to Bkk

Swiss Grottino Residence

Since this portion of our stay in Bangkok was on our time, we bypassed the Sheraton and made reservations by email with Swiss Grottino (www.grottino.com), a strange little place located behind the Westin, on Sukhumvit between Soi 17 and 19. It is strange because it isn’t really a full-service hotel. There is no lobby per se. The main entrance, where you check in and check out is a restaurant, although after checking in, you can use the separate keycard entrance next door. Also, there is no phone in the room, although I was informed that hotel will loan you a cell phone if you need one (not bad if you don’t have a local cell phone). The other amenities are fine (maid service, laundry, etc.), the place is about 6 months old and the rooms nicely laid out. The air conditioner was great, except that you needed the magnetic keycard in place or else the a/c turns off. The rate, on the website is 1700/nite, but I’ve heard that there is some stay 3 nites, get the 4th for free promotion (or something like that). Very convenient location (near the Skytrain and the new subway) if you don’t want to stay thatclose to Nana. By the way, there is a really nice internet place located on the second floor of the building next to the Sheraton Grande. About 1B per minute on machines with 17” flat screen monitors. Nicest and roomiest internet café I’ve ever seen (relative to Thailand, China and Brazil).

Eden

Since I had been shutout of any action in Samui, I headed straight for Eden. Once again, the talent was kind of weak at 3pm. You have to get there around opening time to see the whole pool. Still, I just needed some freaky action. As always, it was a nice fulfilling experience. It was around 3500B (can’t remember exactly), plus I tipped them about 300B each.

Nana

That night, I did what I always do at night in Bangkok. We went to Nana Plaza. Unlike last time, it was quite a bit more crowded, especially at Angel Witch. As a side note, Angel Witch was one of the first gogos I ever went to, and I recall being quoted an exorbitant amount for both ST and LT. I when I counter offered, she was indignant. I passed, but I remember her to be super hot. Well, now it’s months later, and lo and behold she’s still there. Looking a LOT worse for the wear. Mixed feelings here. A tiny bit of “so there,” and a bigger feeling of sadness.

We also checked out the gogo located at the far right corner of the first floor going in from the front (I think it’s Rainbow2 or Hollwood). Lots of girls, lots of hot girls. I think more than any other gogo I went to this time in Nana. Seemed like a lot of choices and the girls were quite friendly too. I saw one hot blonde (Clairol) hitting on all the Japanese guys. Gee, I wonder why. My buddy barfined an exotic but good looking girl from there for ST, but I went back to Playskool, where I BF’d an old favorite for LT.

Plaza Entertainment Complex (again)

The next day, it was about 3pm again, which meant it was too early to go Soapy alley (Ratchada), so we felt we only had two options: a soapy at Plaza/Cupidy or an oily at Baron/Angel. As I was tired of at best mediocre soapies, I was leaning towards an oily. I let my buddy overrule me, though, so we got in cab for Plaza. The cab driver was quite friendly, and told us that there were a number of “other” soapy places he knew. We just went along and told him “perhaps next time.” He also nonchalantly mentioned that he’d heard that there were a lot of LB’s at Plaza. Yeah, nice try buddy.

When we got to Plaza, we looked at the women there and at Cupidy. Since it was not yet “prime time,” the talent was a little lackluster, but my buddy found someone at Plaza with relative ease. As I was still tired from the prior night’s LT, I was thinking about passing. At this point, the papasan who had been always helpful and NOT pushy pointed to one of the sideline girls who was sitting perhaps 25 yards away. From that distance, she looked pretty enough, and looked to have a great rack, but I have always been leery of papasan recommendations. He nevertheless strongly recommended her, stating that she was much in demand and rarely worked (sideliners are part-timers who work only when they want to). I asked the papasan what was so great about her and he replied that according to quite a number of guys, that she provided “very good service.” Although skeptical, I agreed to call her over just to get a better look. Unfortunately, she told the papasan that she couldn’t go because one of her “regulars” was going to arrive in 30 minutes. Slightly disappointed, I merely shrugged and waited patiently while my friend finished his “interview” and drinks with his prospective soaper. At last the soapy gods smiled at me when the great service provider received a call on her cell and she found out that her Thai regular couldn’t make it. Up close, she was prettier than I first thought. She spoke a decent amount of English and was quite charming and funny. It didn’t take long for me to decide to go upstairs. The Thai regular’s loss was my gain. Finally! A great soapy. Was it as good as my best terma session in Rio? Probably not, but it wasn’t that far off. And it was by far my best soapy ever and it renewed my enthusiasm in the institution. Afterwards, I gratefully tipped my new favorite papasan.

Baron Massage

Around the Sukhumvit area, if you need a nearby soapy, you go to Annie’s or Darling (although I’ve never been to either). I prefer the other soapies, but I can see why people prefer not to brave Bangkok’s HORRIBE traffic. Personally, if I’m going to stick around Sukhumvit for a “massage,” I much prefer an oily massage. The oily is a very nice change of pace, after your skin is all wrinkled up from all the soapies, showers and baths you’ve taken. Earlier in my trip, we went and tried out Angels on Soi 24/1. This time, we decided to hit the original – Baron on Soi 24. Just go down that street, take the first left, and you’ll see the sign. The price for the massages are the same as Angels, 400B for 60 mintes, 600B for 90 and 800B for 120 minutes. If you choose the 120 minutes, you get a room with a shower. I’ve heard that you don’t get the shower room if you choose 90 or 60 minutes. The standard tip is 1500B for FS, regardless of how long you have the room.

As you go in, you tell the person at the desk how long you want your massage. At that point, you should ask to choose your own lady, instead of letting them choose for you. At Angels, the lady started with an oil massage and things progressed from there. Don’t be shy, if you just want to skip the preliminaries. At Baron, the girl didn’t bother with the preliminaries. She started right in on a BBBJ. Eventually, we took a shower and had a wonderful time. Sometime during the middle, she said that she needed the KY. Since we had been going at it awhile, I figured she was just drying out. WRONG. She lubed up and then put my penis into that other place. Never have I had this happen in LoS before. Even at Eden, I have to initiate it. Very nice. After finishing, got a nice oil massage. If we had more time, a second pop would have been fine with her. That’s why the 120 minutes is such a good value, since it’s only 400B for a second (or third pop). Also, since this was my last day, and I needed to get a bite to eat for lunch before heading towards the airport, the fact that Baron opens at 10am is really great.

Greyhound Café

After 2 weeks in LoS, I needed to eat something different. Or even something just prepared a little differently. In one of the guidebooks, they listed the Greyhound Café, located in the Emporium Mall on Soi 24. We ended up going there twice. Not cheap by Bkk standards, but very reasonably priced otherwise. The décor is nice, the patronage looks a little end, and the food kind of fused Thai, Italian, Western and Mediterranean. Two appetizers, two entrees, dessert, and a bunch of drinks set us back about 900B. Not bad. Highly recommended for a change of pace. And very close to both Angel and Baron. So close to Baron, that we went there for a quick lunch before we hightailed it back to Grottino and off to the airport. “Sigh” Another trip over.
