Seafood restaurants are right on the beach and quite cheap. Grilled lobster, jumbo prawns, squid and fish are plentiful and fresh. Beer can be found cheap. Nigi Nigi Noo Noos has a happy hour from 4-6 where San Miguel beers are 20 pisos a piece. Great place to have breakfast is at Jonas Shake Shack which is near Cocomangos Bar and Beach Resort. Just walk down the sand boardwalk and you will find plenty of places to eat.
I have stayed at Nigi Nigi Nu Nus and Cocomangos and Nigi Nigi Nu Nus is exceptional. Don't purchase your room online unless you are there during peak season in December, January, April, May. From June through October rooms are half price. The rooms have so much shade that an AC room is not needed. Their web site has some shots of the place and I have some shots of the place here as well.
As far as gifts go...they are cheap. Pearl neclaces and earrings are cheap and of great quality, as are shell jewelry...very impressive for the Philippines. Expect your ko to want to buy tons of things for her friends and family so set asid a little money for that, unless you want her pouting. Just teach her moderation and you'll be fine. Great place to find gifts for your family members so as to deflect notions that you go to 3rd World Countries for cheap pussy.
