i´ll keep this relatively short, and will work on a more thorough trip report when i get back (hopefully)...it´s only day 2.5, but already having a good time...in fact,i think i´m having a better time now that i´ve accepted the fact that as the ladies have told me ´eu estou safado´...i guess i´ve finally become a bit more comfortable with the monger lifestyle, considering that on my first trip, i´d never before ´paid to play´ ...anyway, enough of my loser psychology...Don and Rhonda were great as usual and hooked me up with Armando who is a great driver and picked me up at the airport (armando is learning english really well, and it helped chatting with him on the ride to rio as my portuguese sux from lack of use), and then Don got me a cell phone to use for the week as well...This is my first time at the Arpoadar Inn, and I have to say, Bwana Dik, as usual, was right: this place rules...the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. the room, while small, is very nice with a view (i´m in an oceanfront luxe) that is absolutely breathtaking...falling asleep to waves crashing outside your window every night is truly the way to go (and the prices, by american standards, are fantastic)...all of this, AND they have a killer breakfast buffet that is part of your room charge...i love being in ipanema, it´s a little further from some of the mongering hot spots, but copa can be a real shit pit when you´re there day in and day out...Arpoadar Inn~s location right on Arpoadar beach, can´t be rivaled...needless to say, i´ll be staying here in the future...i´ve already run into a few of the hombre guys here, with sweetmesquite making the rounds, also got a chance to say hello to GCL while at Luomo, a great guy who I hadnt seen in a long while...still planning on meeting up with Brazil Specialist, Hunterman, Sandman and a few others if everything works out...its always nice feeling like you´ve got a bit of a brotherhood you´re walking into when you´re travelling solo so far from home...as for Rio, the weather kinda sux right now...temperature is nice, but the sun has only been making cameo appearances for a few minutes at a time...good news is, this hasn´t affected indoor activities in the least...Luomo was of course my first stop..its been a while since my last trip (about a year) and unfortunately it looks like ALL of the old faces I knew and loved (in the biblical sense and otherwise) have moved on...no Camilla, no Giovanna, no Bea, etc etc...it was a little sad, but i suppose change is good...I did recognize one face, and luckily it was one i suite for an hour (Centaurus IS as expensive as you´ve heard, with only a few drinks <non>, and one girl for one hour, it was close to 200 bucks american <nearly>...) so we went back...good technique returned...oh well...Simone was cool with pics, just not of her face, so again, i´ll post those when i return home...when i got out of the suite with Simone, Centaurus had gone through a MAJOR transformation...as it got closer to 7pm, the next shift of girls came in and the number of real stunners easily tripled...i had a little bit of buyers remorse (no offense Simon, heh) as I saw at time at 4x4, as your options there are virtually staggering...only thing is, you have to get there early or it´s an absolute swordfight)...Man, lousy weather or not, i forgot how much fun you can have in this single man´s paradise...it´s DEFINITELY good to be back...

Good report, Rexxx. I share your distaste for Centaurus, had that "vulture-like descent" last time there (perfect description). The crop of spinners might get me back there, though.

**Important notes**

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are they best nights to go to Barra 400 because there are the most girls there on those days. You will be disappointed on the slow days and the staff tires to overcharge drinks to make up for the difference.
GO EARLY about 7 or 8 pm because you want to see all the girls before the locals come in. The locals speak the girls language and sometimes tie up a girl's time for hours before heading for a room. But the girls have fun laughing and dancing with the locals and so don't mind that she's missing out on a Gringo with a hard on would be slammimng it to her within 30 minutes of meeting her.

They jack the prices up at times because I've been there when it was r$40 cover then again R$50 another day (on slow days). You get a card at the door for all your consumables to be marked on. DO NOT LOSE IT or you may have to pay a minimun which may be higher than what you consume. Also beer in cans (lata) is cheaper than beer in bottles but it's the same beer (Skol). Just to be sure they don't nickle and dime you ask to see the menu first. You will see the correct prices on the menu for all items. Take especially a look at how much they charge for Red Bull and Red Bull drinks if that's what a girl asks for because it is expensive compared to the soda drinking girls. Then everytime you order something look and see that the marks are in the right price line (look at the card and you will figure it out easily).

Lastly and probably most importantly, there are very few tourists who go here and so the girls are not too comfortable approaching tourists. Be proactive and approach them otherwise the locals will enjoy the girls time and not you. Any girl will give you a tour of the cabines and suites with no obligation. Prices start at R$150 and increase R$100 real for the larger suites up to R$350. You pay for the girl when you choose a room and only pay for your cover and what you consumed at the door out.
