Just a quick report that confirms everything I read about Boca Chica and Santo Domingo prior to my visit on November 3-5, 2004.
Boca Chica is a sad excuse for a monger's stop, Everything I read said so, but I figured I should try since I was flying into SD late at night. I stayed at the Europa, right by the action (what littel there is) and after looking really hard for the right combination of looks and attitude I took a dark skinned girl that turned out to be mediocre. There were a few really pretty girls hanging around, but they KNEW it and wanted too much monay for their services. Unfortunatelly some of the Europeans around were willing to pay the price, because I saw the girls leave with guys after very short conversations. All in all, I would strongly recommend against Boca Chica, if you have had any kind of experience in Colombia, Brazil, or Thailand, this will not even rank.
Santo Domingo was a very different story. Lots of action both day and night, and lots of nice looking girls everywhere you look. The massage places definitelly aim high on the price, in factr I walked out of several after being greeted by very greedy/bitchy attitudes. I did session at Spa Estefani twice with different girls, and each time I paid RD1,300. I had a good time and the girls were both nice. I visited Remington Palace the one night I had in SD and found it's offering far above all the others I wen to that night (tabu, lapsus and aurora) but the prices were astronomical and the attitudes were too "profesional". I did strike a conversation with a very pretty girl that looked very latin, and after a while she went on to tell me all the thing whe did not do, no kissing, no bbbj, only one shot, blah, blah, blah... So, i left and stopped at tabu again where I had spotted the slutiest girls all night. It was about 1:00 AM and I was the only "blanco" there, and there were a couple of yound Dominicans trying to bargain with the girls. I was warmly received by 4 or 5 girls ranging from 3-6 in looks, but all with very "dirty" attitudes. Anyway, I was getting caresses and haevy petting from all of them for a bout 15 minutes, and since there was no one there, some of the girls were putting there hand down my pants and making life good. I ended up choosing the nices body/attitude girl, although I cannot complain about having been given any bad attitudes, this girl was the one so we sat alone for a while negociating. She came back to the Duque de Wellington with my for RD1,000 for the rest of the night. I'll post some picture of this girl, she had a great body and a so-so face, but she was very eager to please and enjoyed my efforts at pleasing her. I was flying out hte next morning so after the 3rd pop I sent her home with a RD300 tip for her great service. She was extremely thankful and if I ever go back, I'll be sure to look her up. Shit, I can't remember her name. Note to self; write up the trip report upon returning home.
Anyway, my short experience in DR was enjoyable, but I can see that there is a lot of "attitude" toward tourists from EVERYONE you encounter, even the hotel clerk tried to rip me off. If I ever go back I'll head straight for the north side, or stick to SD.

Hi,
Did you like the Wellington Hotel? From this Hotel, do you need a cab or can you walk to all the "action" places. Any chica surcharge?
Thanks!

The Duque de Wellington Hotel is basic, but mostly passable.
It is well within walking distance of many of the spas around the area with some like Cisne and Elegant Center right around the corner. Spa Monlissa, Estefani and Michelle and very close as well.
May need a taxi to Remington Palace as it is a long hike there. Casa Teresa, Azul and de Modelos are all taxi rides.
Oh and strip clubs like Lapsus and Tabu II are also pretty close.

Santo Domingo Map
Duque du Wellington is Blue#1 on the map. The square of action bordered by Bolivar, Socorro Sanchez, and George Washington are all within a 5-10 minute walk.
Use the link to save the downloadable map instead of the image you see to get the full size version.

BTW, thank you Lanzan for the Boca Chica comments. I had planned to visit Boca Chica on my last visit, but instead focused on Santo Domingo to leave Boca Chica for my next visit. I will still likely visit despite your comments, but will probably limit it to one day with your confirmation of BC's decline.
