Back about a month ago, I was looking over the company vacation schedule and I noticed that I got off both Thursday and Friday prior to the 4th of July. Initially, I was thinking that it would pushing it to only go to Rio for 4 days but when one is struggling with the Rio addiction then you just have to do what you have to do. So in any event, I bought that ticket and away I went.

I mainly did my usual things; the termas - 4x4, termas 65, solarium, Aeroporto, and Monte Carlo. It was a lot of fun. Well, in any event here are my memories .....

Great selection at Termas 4x4 on my first day. I got there between 3-4 and there were 10 guys & about 50 girls. A bunch of more girls started at 4 and then again at 5 & the place was great early. I was just sitting there thinking it is great to be in Rio, sipping a drink, and watching the girls wander in and out of the boite. There were a bunch that I thought looked awesome. After about 3 drinks, I finally decided it was time to stop eyeing the girls and time to start talking to them. I start looking around for one of the good looking girls that I had seen earlier & I saw one. Or at least, I thought that I spied one. After talking to her for a few minutes, I realize that girl that I was talking to was prettier than one that I had seen earlier but was wearing the same outfit; I wish that I could make more mistakes like that one. Nobody ever confused me with Albert Enstein. She turns out to be very nice so we chat a bit and then go upstairs to one of the suites. By the time our hour was done, the bar was beginning to really fill up. And by 9pm or so, there was no reason in the world to be in there as it got too damn crowded. All the good looking girls were racing up & down the stairs, a line was forming for the cabines and the boite was about 105 degrees in the shade. I walked up the street to Termas 65 & it was the same story. Time to head for one of the non-downtown termas at that point. My advice is get there early & get the hell out of there when the crowd arrives.

I woke up feeling refreshed Friday morning (although after the complimentary breakfast ends at the Debret). Met R66 in the morning & had breakfast at Meia Pataca. It was fairly empty but it was great to sit then look out at the Atlantic Ocean and get excited about being in Rio. It was great chilling in Rio with R66. We got talking about agencies (R66 said that he was going to call an agency girl that afternoon) so we go over to the internet café and check out the photos of the girls from my favorite agencies ( barravips.net, companygirl.com.br and sexyallen.com). When I'm sitting around my apartment daydreaming about Rio sometimes I check out the various agencies just to kill time but I almost never call any of them when I'm in Rio. But after talking to R66, I decided that I couldn't wait for the termas to open so I called a girl from sexyhall.com. I picked out a girl with awesome photos (I could give you her name but I doubt that you'd get the same girl); it turns out that they just sent a girl that was available but she was very attractive/spoke English & was very nice. She ended up staying for close to 4 hours (I only paid the 2 hour rate). It was lots of fun; we just talked about a lot of different things. She gave me some more Brasiliero musica suggestions (Her suggestions were Djavan (dupla), Marisa Monte, Adriana Calcanhoto, Legorios Urbana, Cidade Negra, Kid Abelha - for the life of me I can't find Djavan's dupla album in Rio; I think amazon has it though) and told me that her favorite place to hit the beach in Barra was called Pepe. I told R66 about the girl and he called her the next day and another girl showed up - no english and lots of tattoos; I actually think R66 might have gotten the real girl - who knows?

One of the nice things about the Debret is that they have a nice little bar that generally has live music on Friday night. I sat around the bar for a bit - listening to Marcos Lima's group (good mellow guitar music) and had a few caipirinhas; boy caipririnhas do have punch.

Next I decide to head for Termas 4x4 to see the girl from the previous night. While shooting along on the bus, I decide that this is my last chance to see my friend from Termas Aeroporto so I jump off the bus for a brief stop at Aeroporto. I like Aeroporto. There were probably 15 girls dancing and watching themselves in the mirrors as I guess only brasileiras can - fun to watch. I tried to get Flavia's number for Wilco but that didn't work out as it turns out I don't have the current phone number for my friend from Aeroporto either

Wilco - guess who is working in Solarium - your buddy Desiree. She asked when you were returning to Rio and I told her that I wasn't sure so she said she is going to call you. I think that you should expect another call at work soon. I think that I hit Solarium maybe 3 times during my trip and as always the talent level is very high.

Barra (pronouced "Baha") da Tijuca is the new neighborhood of Rio, it's where all the yuppies or new money live. Note: Barra and Barra da Tijuca are 2 very different places; my report only talks about Barra da Tijuca although I refer to it as Barra - sorry for any confusion. The beaches are cleaner and there is are lots of restaurants, shopping places, and stuff to do here. It's about 20-25 minutes by taxi, tell the driver "Baha pelo Avenida Atlantica" This will take you there by the ocean where you will pass Pedra de Gavea, and Dois Irmaos, beautiful rock formations that rise up along the seaside. The beaches in Barra are beautiful. There is a long stretch of beach named after the brazilian surfer/hang glider "Pepe". . And lots of great girls are hanging out there at the beach in Pepe. I took bus 175 (this is a local); there are express tourism buses as well (Campo Grande, Santa Cruz, Alvarada as well as #523 for the beach) but I still haven't figured out where to catch them. I was looking for a section of the beach called Barraca do Pepe but I don't believe that I ever found it.

Here are a couple of photos from Barra da Tijuca

In any event, I spend a couple of hours sunning na praia Pepe and decide to take a walk along the boardwalk. I figure it is time to find one of those love motels and call some escorts. As I'm walking along I see the Papillion Love Motel (Av Afonso Reidy 150, 493-223 - Barra da Tijuca) so I decide I guess that it is escort agency time. I check into the motel and I just get a "simple" room for 39 reais for 6 hours; I was really impressed with the place - it had a garage, mini-bar, big bathroom with marble floors, cable TV, AC, phone, stero system . It is alot nicer than any of the rooms that I've stayed at in the Debret, Rio Roiss or Savoy Othon. And simples are the low end rooms at the motel; they also had dulpas and suites that were pricier and nicer. I'm going to have to check one of these out next time. I call the agency Barravips.net and tell them that I want 2 girls and they tell me that only Mellisa and one other girl are available. About 20 minutes later a cab pulls up and the 2 girls jump out. Like most web escorts they don't look as good as their photos on the web but they were a lot of fun.

Thoughts on staying in Barra da Tijuca
f I stay up there you would want to stay right on the beach. The Hotel Praia Linda, Hotel Rio Residence as well as my Papillon Motel would all be great options. The main advantage is that the beaches are so much nicer. The beach in Copacabana is nice but I'm lucky if I walk across the street from Meia Pataca once a day & kick the sand - I don't really spend anytime at the beach there. Barra would not be as convenient as Copacabana but if you know your way around and what you want to do then I don't think that it would be too bad. Barra is a 20 reais cab ride from Copacabana so you would either need to take a cab or the tourism bus back & forth. Barra is a heck of a lot nicer than Copacabana. One would need to take cabs around in Barra but there are tons of grocery stores, malls, etc I'm thinking about spending part of my next stay up in Barra da Tijuca. I basically could hang out at the beach in Barra until 3pm or so & then cab/bus it into Rio, get my termas fill, then take a cab back to Barra

I was worried that a 4 day trip would be too much (ie too much jet lag & not enough time) but it was no problem. I was exhausted at theend of first day but got a good night sleep & felt fine for the rest of trip. I am currently looking forward to the next long weekend. :)

Four days...that is true dedication. I commend you. After finally making it to Rio, I can relate with the addiction.
