Well, I finally made it.
This will not be a comprehensive report, rather a series of contributions of updated information. Much of the foundation has already been laid by many more experiences mongers than myself.
This trip is not wholly dedicated to mongering, and I am staying with friends right now who do not indulge. But yesterday, my first day here, I managed a trip to Chao Phya2 and then J1 across the street. Previous posters were right: the touts didnt want to bring me to CP2, they wanted to take me to a new place called Embassy.
Anyhow, i enjoyed the service of a wonderfully beautiful and buxom lady, Mai, number 18 at CP2 who I can recommend. price: 1900 baht.
Then I crossed the street and checked out J1. I selected a superb spinner, the gorgeous number 264, Ab-pon. She was not highly skilled, but was a real beauty, and for a spinner lover like me, it simply doesn't get any better. The only problem is, she was so small I had to be extremely gentle with her, and even so she still experienced pain the second go-round. So ultimately I do not recommend you take her, unless you are hung less than 6 inches (I was about 2 inches too long for her). price: 1800 baht..there were superstars abvailable for 2200, and some of them looked awfully good (the papasan recommends number 77).
More filings to come...I must say, the first time you see a stadium lit fishbowl, your heart skips a beat. But the service is very professional, and relatively expensive. So sampling the bar scene is something I continue to look forward too, though it may be awhile until I have that kind of time to fly solo.

You gotta pry yourself away from them. Do they stay with you all night ?? There are plenty of very cheap short time hotels available at all the major bar sites - the girls all know where they are. Get out and enjoy yourself. You'll regret it immensely otherwise.

Glad your soapie experience was pleasurable at least. Never had an unpleasurable one. They range on a scale of pleasure to exstacy !!

Dont worry about me, Khun...slipped away again yesterday for another trip to J1 with another great Lao spinner (number 287, Bow) from Udon Thani. Within a week I will be travelling solo, and will take a couple days at the Dynasty Inn to go berzerk at Nana Plaza. I have nothing but time, being unemployed, and am in no hurry to return to US. I will sample everything I have been fantasizing about at least once.

Hey Zuperly, glad to hear things are starting off right. I hope LOS is everything and more than what you expected it to be. Sound's like you've just hit the tip of the iceberg though, wait 'till you check out the go-gos, beerbars, etc. Also check out Patpong, some guys don't like it but some gems to be found. I hope you get out to Pattaya soon and take plenty of pics.

BTW: 6" inches? Hmmm....that's mine when I fold it twice :-)

Glad to see u made it Zup and savor every moment-- It doesn't get any better IMHO.

I say lose your clergy friends and experience LoS solo. I must say, I've never heard of people who do not "indulge" just those who indulge more frequently than others. Regardless, set yourself free.

Your response seems to indicate you are planning an extended stay in Thailand. How long will you be there ?? Let me know if you're planning to be around Pattaya in February. I'll inbox you my Thai cell phone number and we can hook up and terrorize a few bars.

OK, made it to Nana last night, here is some recent info and my impressions...thanks to all who reported before me, as I already had a good idea which bars were worth checking.
Angel Witch: some really hardcore and sleazy girls here. But I barfined this adorable little Lao waitress and had a great short time.
Mandarin: Not impressed. Again, some really hardcore sleazy pooying, a couple decent gals thrown in, and a lady boy or two. Why do they mix and match genders in the same establishments?
Rainbow 2: Mind blowing. There must have been 70+ girls, and I was drooling over at least 20 of them. Really amazing selection.
Rainbow 1: Not as titillating as #2, but still worth checking out.

Before hitting Nana, I also stopped by Cupidy and Embassy, where I took one for the team, so to speak. Cupidy was charging too much, they wanted 2500 for fishbowl, and 3000 for 'superstars', who supposedly only work part time. The tout went down 500 baht, but this is still more than J1, and the selection wasn't anything special. I finished my beer and moved on.
Embassy seems to be the place the taxi drivers are pushing these days. They have 2 price levels, 2000 for 'students' and 1500 for their hard core pros. I took a 1500 girl, nothing extraordinary. The facilities were run down. I gotta say Embassy is a waste of time, and Cupidy, if they insist on gouging, is not worth the time either.

How did you get to Cupidy? If you took a cab, the first price might reflect the dreaded taxi surcharge. Next time, tell the cab to take you to Plaza (upstairs), which doesn't pay the surcharge, and then just walk downstairs.

As for selection, what time did you go. Cupidy doesn't really get going until around 5 or 6pm.

Zuperfly, if you haven't yet, go to MBK and buy yourself a camera (even disposable), I'm sure you'll want to memorialize your first encounter with LOS and its wonders. I always wish I had done that my first trip as it was very unique and special (only took 3 shots with a disposable camera).

Rainbow update:
although they have the hottest girls in NEP, the prices are too high. The girls wanted 2000bht for short time, and the two I was interested in barfining wouldnt budge. This may be because the place was packed, hardly a free seat, and many customers looked Japanese, and some Asian businessmen too. If you dont mind spending a bit more, this is the place for ultra hottie spinners. I went back to Angle Witch instead for the cute little waitress, and we did a quick short time for 1000 baht.

That's why I call the Rainbow bars-- especially II and III " Little Tokyo ". The japanese customers have totally taken over and ruined both bars for farang mongers.
Even if you are willing to pay the girls ridiculous prices, they are reluctant to go with a farang. He doesn't meet the other 2 arms of the rule of 4's.

Patpong--
I went the other night. Not sure why this place even continues to be an attraction: ladyboys galore, and very few (if any) hotties working in the go-gos. The touts are very annoying and aggressive, I don't like it at all when salesmen put their hands on me, and it must have happened 20 times in an hour.
The area serving Japanese businessmen appeared much larger than falang-friendly Patpong.
Seems to me if you've been to Bourbon Street in New Orleans there is little reason to visit Patpong.
