On to Angeles City:
I was given the price of 1600 pesos for the taxi ride from the MNL airport to AC from Pacific Blue taxi. That is because I went left upon exit at the terminal and went right to the cab company offices instead of staying with the kiosks right by the door. They all wanted 2,300 - 2,500.
The America Hotel seems to be a good deal in AC. It is not in the noisy action area (about 4 blocks away) and the rooms are big. I was on the 4th floor (no elevator) facing the street and that was noisy. Better to get the 3rd floor away from the street. Price was $24 USD for the deluxe rooms. It can be seen n the pictures below. The girls said that the rooms were twice the size as the Orchid Inn at ˝ the price.
Angeles was more of a 'pit' than I expected. The sidewalks are cracked, the power lines are drooping, and the restaurants are 3rd rate. But the bars are hopping and the girls are willing.
