What strikes me every time I come to Pattaya is the amount of couples and families with kids (young kids) that I see walking around the place. At least on Walking Street and some of the main prostitution areas.
Is this just me being naive in thinking that Pattaya is not really a legitimate beach resort? Or are some misguided travel agents playing prankster on these people and really selling Pattaya as a place to take the entire family for vacation?
If I had a family, I would kind of be pissed if someone sold me a package to Pattaya and while I was walking down Walking Street with my family I had to hear, "Hallllllllllllllllllllooo Handsum Man. Waaaaallllllllllcoooooooooooome. Come inside please. Seeeeeeexxxxxxxxxxy lady for ju. Boom boom long time."

It IS quite bizarre, isn't it? But Pattaya is just an inSANE bargain for people that want a sun-soaked vacation in a westernized location, and a significant % of those people are families.

You're examining this with your American morals. Europeans have accepted the existence of the oldest profession for quite some time. Look at the FKKs in Germany, the RLD of Amsterdam...
