At Oase, the girls are not totally naked – they wear heels. The ambiance is salacious yet surprisingly elegant: but for the Hays Code, one could imagine this a scene in a James Bond movie. It’s almost a fantasy of a perfect world where each generation doesn’t believe it invented sex and must control the patent.

Oase girls run the gamut from short to tall, svelte to zaftig. Most are in their early to late 20s, and few look surgically enhanced. Perhaps 50% are drawn from the not-inconsiderable ethnic diversity of the former Soviet satellites, but all of Europe as well as far-flung sister cities in Dominican Republic, Morocco and Colombia are represented. One notable exception: the club is bereft of Asians.

The girls are less aggressive than termas girls. If you greet them, they respond warmly, but most do not make the first move, at least while the night is young. This incongruity – maximum in-your-face juxtaposed upon Japanese coy - creates harmonic convergence.

Even in their most delicate reserve, these girls clearly know how to advertise. Quite the challenge to highlight one’s finer attributes when one is naked to the World (er, Oase), but they find a way: a fine wench perches on her knees on a barstool, elbows leaning on the table in front, her completely exposed little behind mock-innocently beckoning. Another reclines on a couch and throws her leg over its arm, fetchingly exposing her most intimate secrets. Yet another leans over you as you sit, casually dangling a breast in your face.

When you approach a girl, she will typically smile and ask your name, where you are from and if it’s your first time. The conversation will quickly turn to whether you would like to spend some time with her, either in a not-so-quiet corner, the more dimly lit theater, or a private room. There are rolls of paper towels everywhere.

As the night unfolds, many (but not all) of the girls become more aggressive, brazenly tempting the men, whose ranks swell. Ratios narrow, but, as in the termas, many of the locals are in no hurry, so there are always more girls than guys.

Clubs like Oase situated outside the city rely heavily on local clientele, generally of age 30s through 60s or older. Some of the more mature regulars reportedly don’t seek sex but enjoy other diversions: some just want to talk, some want massages; others get off on giving the girls massages or back adjustments.

Still, by and large, sex is the draw, and the story to boot, so let’s get on with it.
