I recently spent an enjoyable week in Sao Paulo. This was my first visit to this vast city. Sao Paulo has something for every monger. The amount of nightclubs, strip clubs, clinicas / massage places, casas and escorts boggles the mind.

I have listed a summary of my experiences in a number of important areas.

Airport Arrival (GRU)

Safe transportation to a Sao Paulo hotel is very easy to arrange. In the other Latin American airports that I have been to you, in the main terminal area you are usually greeted by a large number of taxi drivers vying for your attention. They all want to take you to your hotel at an inflated price. The most disturbing part of this process is that it’s possible that bad things could happen to you if you choose the wrong driver. At GRU, there was a noticeable absence of these type taxi drivers. There is a large counter just outside the exit doors that arranges taxi transport. The fees are set and listed on a board. I paid R$75 to my Jardins area hotel. Once you pay, you hand your receipt to one of the many cab drivers lined up at the curb and away you go. All of the taxis that I saw at the airport and around the city were relatively new and in excellent condition.

Hotels

I stayed at the Parthenon Saint Germain in the Jardins area. The hotel is about a 30 – 40 minute drive from the airport in midday traffic. The Saint Germain is in an excellent area of Sao Paulo. The hotel is only 1.5 blocks from Av. Paulista. This area is the financial center of Sao Paulo. There are many high rise office buildings, shops, mercados, restaurants, cinemas, and banks nearby. There is also a metro station (Consolacao) 2 blocks away from the hotel. There are many police on the street in this area. I always felt safe walking around during the day and evening (unlike Rio). I never walked around late at night, but did return from dinner several nights around 9 PM and still felt safe.

The web site indicated that the Saint Germain was built in 1985 and it is showing a few signs of age. However, for R$105 a night I thought it was a very good deal. I had a nice 1 bedroom apartamento. I registered single and had no problems bringing a guest to the room. The only real fault that I could find with this place is the fact that the window glass is not very thick and at times I had problems sleeping until late in the morning. I had a room away from the street and street noise wasn’t a problem. However, several days there was some construction in the area and at times I could hear some dogs barking in the adjacent apartment buildings.

I looked at a room for possible future visits in the Mercure Trianon Hotel which is close to the Brigadeiro metro station. The Brigadeiro station is just 2 metro stops down on Av. Paulista from the Saint Germain. This was a much more modern hotel than the Saint Germain and was only a few more Reals per night. The front desk people indicated that the hotel is guest friendly. The area appears to be very safe, but a notch below the area the Saint Germain is in. This hotel had thick plate glass and I don’t think sleeping during the day would be a problem. I will probably give this place a try on my next visit.

Banking

I had no problems using any of the ATM machines at the Bank of Brazil branch 2 blocks away from the Saint Germain on Av. Paulista. I withdrew R$1000 several times. As a reference, at the time of my stay US$1=R$2.7.

Clubs

I like to visit clubs. Preferably, but not exclusively with dancers on stage. I enjoy checking the garotas out with clothes on and checking out their bodies with their brief dancing outfits on while on stage. In Sao Paulo there are tons of low end, middle of the road, and high end type clubs that I enjoy. There is a good concentration of middle of the road clubs on Rua Nestor Pestana. This area was an R$11 cab ride from the Saint Germain Hotel. On this trip, I concentrated all of my efforts on these clubs.

Kilt is located at Rua Nestor Pestana 266. This club had the largest selection and most attractive garotas of any of the clubs that I visited. During a night early in the week there were probably 40 - 50 girls in the club. There were 7 or 8 girls always dancing on several stages around the club. There were a good number of girls in my doable range here. I pulled out a real cute blond dancer for R$150 + taxi fare for 2 hours in the hotel. She asked for R$200, but readily accepted a R$150 offer + taxi. I think I probably got a good deal. This girl just moved over to Kilt from another club and this was here first night dancing here. This club appears to be more of R$200 type place for the better looking garotas. That’s just my gut feeling. We had a good session in the hotel that included use of my sex toys, DFK, and a CBJ. I like BBBJ’s, but not the risks associated with them. A CBJ isn’t a big problem for me. I tend to go with the flow, if a girl offers a BBBJ then in the heat of the moment I enjoy it. In Sao Paulo, I only received 1 BBBJ in 7 nights. If this is a big issue for you, I would strongly advise negotiating this upfront.

Skorpios on Rua Nestor Pestana was the smallest club that I visited. On a mid week night the club had about 12 – 15 garotas. There were always 3 girls dancing on the 1 stage. There were 2 doable girls for me at this club. I pulled out a tall blond and paid her R$150 plus R$15 for taxi fare. Late at night the many taxi drivers lined up on Rua Nestor Pestana all turn off their meters. They ask for R$20 to the Jardins area, but they all accepted an R$15 offer. I would have to say that this session would get my lowest ratings of my time in Sao Paulo. She promised DFK in the club, but only provided light kissing. She also provided a CBJ. She was a friendly girl, had a good personality, enjoyed the pounding that I gave her in bed, and my sex toys. However, I didn’t like the fact that she wouldn’t DFK.

Cocktail is located at Rua Nestor Pestana 189. I visited this club twice. The club had 30 – 40 girls each time I was there. There were always 4 – 8 dancers on numerous stages around the club. There were at least 5 – 6 in my doable range each visit. I pulled out the same dancer from here on 2 different occasions. I paid her R$150 + R$15 taxi fare each time. She was a lot of fun and we had excellent sessions back in the hotel. The sessions were enhanced with my sex toys, included a CBJ, and plenty of DFK that started in the taxi on the way to the hotel.

Vagao Plaza is located at Rua Nestor Pestana 237. This club had many Asian clients on the night that I visited. There were 25 – 30 girls in the club with 3 – 4 dancing at a time on one stage. There were at least 5 or 6 garotas in my doable range here. I picked a semi-pro who worked at the club 2 nights a week to supplement her secretarial salary at a real estate company. She asked for R$200, but readily accepted R$150 + taxi fare. She was a real friendly, sweet girl who provided my only Sao Paulo BBBJ during our session. She also provided plenty of DFK. I really enjoyed my time with her.

Café Royale is also located on Rua Nestor Pestana. The night I visited this club, there were about 15 girls. There were 2 – 3 girls dancing on the main stage and 1 girl dancing on a stage by the bar. Of the clubs that I visited, this club had the poorest quality of girls. There was only 1 garota here that really interested me and 1 that was borderline doable for me. I pulled out the one that I really liked. She readily accepted the usual R$150 + R$15 taxi fare. I thought that she was very attractive and in the hotel we had a lot of fun. The session included DFK, CBJ, and use of my sex toys.

My Love is a club on Rua Nestor Pestana directly across the street from Kilt. This club had about 12 or 15 dancers split between 2 stages the night that I was there. There also appeared to be 5 or 6 girls that did not dance in the club. The funny thing about this club was that all of the dancers are on stage continuously. They only leave the stage for bathroom breaks or if a customer asks them to sit with him. The majority of these girls dance for hours with the exception of an occasional bathroom break. I found 3 girls here that interested me. I chose a slim blond with a big bunda. I offered her the usual R$150 + taxi for 2 hours in the hotel and she readily accepted. In the hotel we had a lot of fun. The session included DFK, sex toys, but once again a CBJ.

Conclusion

January is the rainy season (9.5 inches avg.). I think it only rained most of the time during 1 day, the majority of the other days there were showers. On my next visit, I will try to avoid the rainy months (Dec., Jan. & Feb.).

The thing I really liked about Sao Paulo was the fact that there were areas of the city where I felt safe walking around (unlike Rio) during the day and evening. I’m sure there is plenty of crime, but as long as you stay in the good areas I think it’s a long shot that you will have a problem. I always used taxis at night to and from the clubs. The clubs on Rua Nestor Pestana are all within a block or so of each other so you can walk safely from club to club once you have taken a taxi into the area.

On my next visit, I will try several of the higher end clubs like Cafe Photo and Romanza. I will also check out some of the lower end clubs. There is a large string of them for a couple of blocks on Rua Augusta between Av. Paulista and Rua Nestor Pestana. I went past these clubs while riding in the taxi on my way to the Rua Nestor Pestana clubs each night, but never made a visit to any of them. I have heard conflicting reports about these places (Big Ben, Nighthouse, etc.). It’s like most things in life, some guys liked them and others hated them. I’ll take a look and decide for myself. I would use a taxi in this area, Rua Augusta at night looks like it could be dangerous once you leave the several block area where the clubs are concentrated.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed myself during my first visit to Sao Paulo. I definitely plan to return in the not too distant future.

Since the SP Hilton closed for future renovations by a new owner, I stay at the Mercure Downtown. Which is on Rua Araujo, one block below Love Story. And no more than three blocks away from all the clubs on Nestor Pestana.

Their weekend rates are pretty decent at around 112R a nite, but their Sun-Thur rate is not very good. Around 160R a nite.

Nice recap. Be careful in Romanza, and keep track of your drink tab. That club has been known to pad the bill a lot. Pay in cash also as opposed to a credit card at that place.

Cafe Foto, as most of the the other clubs, is best on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thrusday night.

Ditto what Moondog said. Big Ben is very cool - they even have a samba type dance review. Nice folks, a good time. The rest on that block? No way! Don't forget Bom Boa, Moulin Rouge, Bahamas. There is a small club across from the Mercure, but I caught a garota fishing for my wallet there, but YMMV.

If you are there a lot, get yourself a nice local girlfriend, and do some taveling to the Sao Paulo beaches!

Buffer, any nice termas in SP? Similar to Rio's? Guess this is a question for anyone who knows the answer.

I'd love to make a visit to SP next time I'm in Brazil.
