Coming into the airport I was captivated by a woman on a telephone billboard. She was dressed up as Uncle Sam but looked so damn cute I had to stop and stare. I ran into similar ads with this girl, then other Ebratel ads featuring her. Hmmm …
I later learned that she is a very popular model and Brazilian actress (often compared to the young Elizabeth Taylor). Regardless, she’s a babe.
I decided on a little project, to capture a shot of every ad I could find. Some of you may recall my interest in what I refer to as “The New Year Girls” I saw on my first trip in 2003 (posters of four girls, one of whom was about to tear off her t-shirt while the others look on in shock). Well, the Embratel Girl was this trip’s advertising obsession. Unfortunately, I never did find that Uncle Sam getup.
Yeah, the photos are pretty bad (in some cases I was shooting through glass), but there you go.
From the current campaign:
Oooh, she can eat my beef any day.
"Too much foundation, baby!"
Phone shop posters:
This one is about ten stories tall, stretched across a skyscraper near the Sambadrome.
Love that top!

Her stage name is Ana Paola and she has been Embratels "spokesperson" for several years. I met her once at a telecom convention in SP. As beautiful in person as in the ads. She has a little girl now that looks like a minatire version of her. Daughter is appearing in some ads.
Hers is probably one of the most recognizable faces in all of Brasil.......
Nice job wombat

Ana Paula Arioso. She has a leading role in Globo's latest miniseries - "Mad Maria", check it out if you are an Arioso fan.
