This is my first report here. I hope it is somewhat helpful. I spend a lot of time on the hobby in my own backyard, but other than Montreal, this is my first foreign excursion into the depths of depravity. The previous reports were immeasurably helpful to me.

First, the background. I stayed at the Westin Regina in the Marina area on the north side. This was a business trip, and a different hotel was not an option. Nevertheless, it worked out just fine. It is a beautiful property in a nice area, but very expensive. I rented my own car beacause I like the freedom it gives. The rules of the road are a bit different there and it took some getting used to, but I'm glad I had a car. Taxis would have been fine, and probably less expensive. I had reserved a car from Hertz, but when I tried to pick it up at the airport, they had there heads up theirs asses, so I ended up renting from National through the hotel, and everything went as smooth as silk.

In terms of a family vacation, I don't think I would go back to PV. Too big and crowded, overdeveloped, etc. The climate, however was perfect. This was probably a fantastic place 20 years ago.

A few things I enjoyed: Prices are in Pesos, 100 Pesos currently = $9. One hour straight massage at Lily's in the Zona Romantica, $300. Fantastic.
A meal at Mauricio's in Las Juntas on the road to Ixtapa. Two beers, appetizer, more food than I could ever eat, and all excellent. The best meal I had the entire time, $140. A dinner for two with a chica (more on that later) at Ay Caramba, overlooking the harbor. Nice ambience, beautiful view, but American prices, $1000. Finally, I decided to drive to San Sebastian up in the Sierra Madres. This took about 2 1/2 hours each way. This a small Spanish mining village, very quaint. I'm glad I went, but this may have been the worst road I've ever driven (last 1/3 of the way), and by all rights I should have had a 4X4. Lunch, $40. Lastly, I enjoyed the people, generally very friendly and helpful. I attended a bullfight, which was interesting and fun, but pretty brutal for American sensibilities.

Now the important info. My experience did difer a little from some previous reports. I had internet access in my room, and found local website with some helpful info. Although this is basically a advertising site, it did provide phone numbers, some prices, hours of operation, and maps. The URL is: www.bulenet.com.

I went to Candy's twice, mainly because it was 5 minutes from my hotel. There were lots of very nice looking chicas. My first night was with a total knockout in the back room for an hour. Really great girl named Dulce. The rooms are tiny, with a padded bench, no bed. Adaquate but not ideal. I wish I could break down the prices for you, but I don't exactly recall. It went something like this: Cover $100, including one shot of tequilla and a lap dance, 2 beers 2 chica drinks, one hour with chica on premises, tips for floor manager and waiter, total $2400. I don't know if that is too much or not, but it is way less than my local prices. Hustle factor at Candy's very high.

My second venture to Candy's was a bit different. I selected a girl named Maybelline. The floor manager offered take-out for 1 1/2 hours for $1600, I I accepted. No problem whatsoever going back to my room. Ended up spending over 2 hours, including going out for tacos and beers at a little taquerria afterward. Dropped Maybelline off at the door, and she assured me the extra time wasn't a problem.

Called Juliette's twice, and the girls had no problem coming to the Westin. I asked about this, and was told that it depends on the hotel. For example, they said getting into the Mayan Place next door was a problem, but not the Westin.

The second time I called Juliette's I booked 4 hours for $2400, and we went to Ay Caramba for dinner, as mentioned above. Joanna was a very pretty, sweet 20 year old, and asked if we could spend the next day together, gratis. The next day I called her cell, she met me in my room, and we spent the day checking out the downtown, had lunch, etc. Very nice time.

Finally, I decided that I had to see the Zona Roja. This is close to the Marina, out past the bull ring. You can't miss it at night because it is marked with bright red lights. I went to Stravaganza. Mostly locals, but not entirely. It felt completely safe. Very low hustle factor, and the routine seems to be that you approach the chica of your choice. I can't break down the prices, but one hour in the "deluxe" room was $1400. The deluxe room actually was a very nice clean room with mirrors and shower. The girls are available for take-out as well. The chica told me that in general Americans are always very safe there, but on Saturday night it is extremely busy and rowdy, and she recommended coming any day but Saturday. She told me, also, that Stravaganza never hires TS's but the other clubs do.

Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
BTW, I do speak intermediate level Spanish and it was invaluable. If I remember any more pertinent info, I'll post later.

Reaganmd, although you specified the exchange rate between the peso and the dollars, you went on to give all prices in what I assume are dollars. Am I correct that you actually paid $1,000.00 US dollars for a dinner for two at Ay Caramba? That is what you've indicated. Or was it 1,000 pesos? I sure as hell hope you meant pesos otherwise prices are extremely expensive. It is a matter of concern for me because I have a trip already reserved for August and, although I make a very good salary and am certainly not known for being cheap, if these prices are in dollars, it is ridiculous. In any event, I do appreciate your report as it is helpful for me. No matter what, I do expect to enjoy the hell out of myself. Again, thanks.

Reaganmd, I just checked out the web link you provided. Great!!!! It's just what I've been looking for. And, after checking out the site it also appears that the prices you quoted were, in fact, in pesos, as opposed to dollars. It looks like I'll have a better trip than I had thought. Just one final question, do you know what times of year are supposed to be PV's high/low season?

Dulce at Candy's generally does not do 'takeout'. She is consistently the best-looking girl there. But Candy's on-site premises is rather disgusting, and the male capitans and waiters are first class pricks.

Zuperfly, thanks for that bit of info. I am eager to check this place out as it will be a new experience, at least in terms of locations. I have a philosophy that I live by--I don't deal with assholes. I was in Punta Cana once and the girls tried to hustle me. You know--started out with one price and then upped it when they thought I was too drunk to realize what they were doing. I got up and walked out. Then they followed me outside talkin' shit. I pulled out a wad of money to let them know what they missed out on for being so greedy, and told them to go fuck themselves. As I usually monger in Latin countries, I've noticed that alot of the male employees in these establishments can really be pricks. I go somewhere else. It's like my brother once told me about women--where one won't, another one will. Thanks for the warning and I'll keep it in mind when I get there.

Prowler:
The girls at Candy's are cool: it's those male employees who are over the top, even by Mexican standards. The capitan will try to physically intimidate you for a tip. Didn't work with me, I told him he could just give me my money back and forget the girl. Of course he backed down, since he'd probably get in big trouble with his boss if it was discovered his attitude was driving customers out of the club. But I vowed never to step foot in the place again.
I took Dulce home with me one night, but she was a one-pop-and-run kind of girl: plus, no DFK, no BBBJ. No complaints, just that she is not into the job of being a whore.
If you want to try on-site fun, I recommend Juniors, where the male staff is friendlier, and the facilities are much better for the same price. A GFE is common with Junior's girls.
If you can spend more and are looking for a trophy, try Prestige. There is sometimes a Cuban mulatta working there who is out of this world. Of course she costs $100 USD more than her counterparts, and used to be involved with the drug-dealing owner of the joint, so she can be a problematic as well as expensive choice. Plus, there's no guarantee she wont just milk you for a few drinks without letting you know that she can't go home with you. But she is absolutely smokin', one of my all-time faves, anywhere. There's also a slinky, lovely Venzuelan girl with fake breasts. Her attitude did not suggest to me she'd knock your socks off in bed, but perhaps you will give her a try and report back.
Hysteria to me is overrated and overpriced, I'd suggest avoiding it.
There is also a second Candy's establishment on the highway to Nuevo Vallarta.
Another caveat: sometimes I encountered good looking gals at Candy's and Hysteria that do not offer sex. REALLY. Rare, but true. So just make sure you are explicit with the girl before you shell out any cash.

Zuperfly, I'm certainly going to get around and find out what are the better spots. I went through the same thing when I first started going to Acapulco. Since that time I've narrowed them down to two joints that I particularly like. But, it seems to me that no matter where you go, there will always be some kind of challenge, whether it's the idiots running the door, or the girls trying to hustle you for more money than they're worth. I think that's part of what lures us back time and time again.

In terms of the quality of girls I prefer, of course I want the finest one that can be had. However, I have found that the better looking ones may not always provide the best service, as was said by someone else either on this or another site. I am more interested in personality. I don't know how many times I've had women with their hands on my dick and their minds on my wallet play the true GFE role while still in the bar area of a club, and then turn to real bitches once we got to the room. Their personality takes on a whole new demeanor and it's strictly business. "Don't touch me their, hurry up." That sort of bullshit. What I look for now is the girl who I feel will provide the best service and performance once we get to the room. And, more importantly, I'm just looking to have some fun. There are going to be those mind blowing experiences, and there will be the disappointments. But, I'll take it all in stride. I'll end by saying this--the worse experience I've had mongering comes no where close to the best relationship I've had in th US.
