While I was enjoying my time in Angeles City, I got a call from Bahtman. He wanted to try something "different" and wanted to know how much longer I was gonna be in AC. I told him the REAL game was in Indonesia!! He mentioned his schedule was tight, but if I was willing to fly back to Thailand soon he'd pay for the tix to S'pore. Oh YEAH!! Called Kuwait Air, flew into BKK around 2am on July 29th and was back at the airport with Bahtman not eight hours later for our flight on Cathay Pacific to S'pore.

Just a note for all those looking to fly - when Cathay Pacific has a full plane their service SUCKS BIG, FAT, HAIRY ASS. It was a 3 hour flight and so they served food in the first half hour. The empty food packaging stayed on our trays until we started to descend into Changi International. We were on a 747 and the seats were so narrow I was just CERTAIN they were gonna squeeze in eleven seats abreast. Slow service, uncomfortable seats and a MUCH higher price then other carriers. Yeah, I'll be lining up for another Cathay Pacific seat REAL SOON.

OK, on the ground in Singapore we head straight for the ferry terminal. Traffic was light and our driver went the speed limit the whole way. Soon we had MORE tickets in hand, passed through immigration AGAIN and were on our way to Batam.

On the ride over we were befriended by a Chinese gent that was sympathetic to our cause. He hooked us up with a GREAT driver and even took us to a GREAT pujasera (small, but the food's excellent) and had the driver give us the full tour later that night.

We ended up at Titanic Karaoke and found some girlies to take care us real good. Now, seeing as this was a weekend AND it was after 8pm, the fishbowl was not well stocked. Still I found a girl that speaks GREAT English and was a LOT of fun to be around. She helped us shop for food to stock the apartment with and was a translator for Bahtman and his new friend.
