Hey Merlin, Tony's girl is stunning. I try to stay away from that guy as much as I can. Question for you, if Tony finds you a girl do you negotiate prices with Tony or the girl? Does Tony charges you depending on how the girl looks? I may have to give this guy a chance if he can finds girls like this.

Jkarp, you negotiate with the gals on your own, regardless of looks. Funny thing is, if Tony doesn't like you, he won't offer up his first string gals (while the converse is true). Most gals will accept 100K (inclusive of Tony's commission) and some will try to add on the 20K commission for Tony. I've heard, and know, guys pay more. But I consider this a worthwhile investment with potentially exponential returns -- i.e. ALWAYS get the gals phone number and then ask her about her amigas, primas, hermanas, mamas, tias, or any other third party senioritas who are interested in extra cash. They always know someone. I've met some wonderful chickitas through this time-tested system, sometimes 4th or 5th degree of separation from the initial investment.

Smitopher was really skeptical about us going to Tony at first because of his lousy reputation (which is all well deserved) but he soon became a convert (am I sounding like an infomercial here); most guys just flat out get turned off and leave.

Tony is one helluva resourceful dude, I've sat there for hours watching him approach any girl above an 8 rating and key in their numbers in his cellphone with a description. The guy has a photographic memory of what each gal looks like on a rolodex that must contain hundreds of numbers.

I like CTG spinner...she looks..well.... Indonesian. Good job with the report, I keep contemplating back and forth between Colombia and Jakarta for my next big trip after Thailand.

KM, good to know by constant Colombia banter has had an effect on you. As for Spanish, my Colombiana gals tell me I speak passable Spanish, albeit with a Mexican chollo twang. But based on what the Thai girls tell me, you seem to have a knack for languages and I'm sure you can pick up the far easier Spanish language rather quickly.

Blazers, the CTG spinner does remind me of an Indonesian or Filipina and she "feels" like one, if you know what I mean. But honestly, there aren't that many spinners as we know it in the SEA sense in Colombia, although there are a fair number of slender, firm bodies. Most of the gals are obviously taller and more curvy.

Out of my own selfishness and curiosity, I'd enrourage you to check out Jakarata as I'm very curious about you'll experience and see there, I can even envision you starting another tidal wave of mongers to that destination in the same way you did it for AC.

One day I'll make it to Columbia...great report.

Networking is the best way to find the prizes. Kudos. Most beach girls are happy with 50 to 80K. They pay Tony from what they get. Never tip Tony anything. In fact, just use Tony for chicas. Don't buy anything from him. His prices are double or better if he thinks he can get over on you.

Thanks for the info on pricing TomTom. I can see I can do better with what I am paying the beach gals. Most of the repeat gals do willingly take less than a 100K, but many of the first time gals seem to hold out.

I haven't tried Tony just for the gals, but I did see him complain about a cheap charlie customer in the next tent and send over the hotties to me one time. Anyway, I'll give Tony a try just for the girl. I hope to get to a point where I don't have to go to him anymore with the networking and all.

IMO, for a first-timer, I'd think CTG would be best in terms of things to do (mongering and non-mongering), ease of hooking up and variety of p4p venues, etc.

I actually spoke to some gals and mamasans in CTG and Cali last trip about a trip near Xmas, on behalf of another poster who will be there around Xmas. I understand CTG will be crowded with tourists as it will be high season, lots of gals plan on staying during the holidays and I'd expect a lot more gals at LDV and freelancers in CTG. Cali may be the opposite. Haven't been to MDE so I don't know, but Sukhumvitter was there, I recall, during December and obviously had a blast, check out his great TR from December 04.

Ctg is the place to be in the second half of December to mid January if you like partying, I have heard Cali is also very good at the end of December and beginning of January.

Medellin is not so good from Christmas to mid January, many people are on holiday at the farms, in Ctg and Santa Marta etc.

ok, so even though I should stay away from Tony, and have good success on my own without him, I have not had good luck on my own before about 10pm. If I want to find this snake in the day, where does he usually hang? I walked up and down the beach in bocagrande and never encountered him?

Tony is located in front of the red canopies where the old Las Velas hotel used to be. I think its the Intercontinental now, or if you can think about where LDV is located, a straight line to the beach. Ask anybody in that general area and they'll all know of him. Good luck.

Many touts will say they are called Tony, where in fact there are two Tonys in front of the Las Velas Hotel, one is of a small build, the main Tony being of a bigger build, he also has a silver tooth if I remember correctly.
