Hotel: I stayed at the Europa. It was OK. If you choose to stay there ask for the studios across the street from the main bldg and make sure not to get a room by the iron gate. Rooms $27 +. Another option would be the Romannoff. I paid $30 for a pretty huge 1 bedroom...what sucked was the electricity going out all the time but that is common in the town.

Food: extremely disappointing all over town. PJ's and Mauna Mai? were suppossed to be good and they were mediocre and expensive compared to everything else. You are better off getting food in the small restaurants around town and the beach.

Beach: where everyone hangs during the day. OK beach, the water was gorgeous. I wish I had made it to Cabarete but I was lazy and did not. There are over 180 stalls at the beach. Some of them well known for sites to meet other mongers (ex Sharky's). I hanged out mostly at Siempre Sol and Scandinavian bar due to their cheap/reasonably tasty food (plus a couple of meseras).

Transportation: I only used the motoconchos around town (20-30 pesos) watch out for being overcharged. Taxis can be quite steep especially for foreigners. I used the community taxis (red sign on top)...I forget exactly how much 50-60 pesos? A private taxi could cost you as much as $20 dollars going to Cabarete (10 minutes away)...spanish helped bring it down to $10. Buses are suppossed to be around 40 pesos but I never used them. You can pretty much walk to anywhere in Sosua and it is a good way to scan out for chicas.
The trip from the POP airport to Sosua will set you back $20 (about 5-10 min) which is BS...try and hook up with another tourist in the plane or airport and split the cab.

Chicas: I scored at the beach, the beer bars, regular bars and disco. I had read that LT was going from 1500 to 2000. I never paid more than 1000 and 500 a few times. I have the feeling I could have gotten away with 500 all the time. And also got a couple of freebies. If you are going during the offseason you should take advantage. The looks can range quite a bit as can the bod quality. There should be no problem scoring 7s. Higher than that I did not see while there except in the company of a humongous boyfriend. GFE is a given. None of the chicas was over 30 and quite a few around 18...check ID. You can find Dominicans as well as Haitians...some of the Haitian girls had super rightous bodies. I found the faces of the DR girls to be superior but the bodies of the Hgirls were outstanding. The DR girls can get possesive and jealous...handle with care!
Watch out for the BS "be my novio...etc" and do not fall for the pro semi-pros!!! Now if you find a 'decent'/'good' girl a different story...I met two that I swear could be the coolest girlfriends ever but shit I am over here and they are over there....

Discos: only club 59 is operating. Good vibe, reasonably good mixes and music. F:M about 2:1 and can get better. No cover. Worth taking a pass and hanging 1 hour every eve.

Assesment: Good for a short trip but you will get bored after a few days...supplement with trips to Puerto Plata, Cabarete, Rio San Juan. I would go back if I only had a week or less for fun and probably will at some point. The DR is a good deal especially if you have some game and some spanish skills. I hear that Santiago may be a more fertile ground and will try and check that next time. GFE with every single girl was nice.

Glad you had a good time. The chica rates vary widely depending on where you scoop them up. If you were paying 500 pesos for hot chicks for LT, I would love to see their pics. That is well below the going rate.

I paid very close attention while i was there and know some guys from NYC that make it their second home. Most all of them pay 1-1.5k. I paid 1-1.5k.

If I lived in the east coas I would go there often for sure. I am in the west and the option here is TJ which pales by comparisson, not even close. May have to move to Florida at some point...closer to Colombia too.
