Then my buddy and I went to the famous 4X4..On the way there, nice drive..very scenic..See Sugarloaf..Centro was pretty cool also..Lots of traffic like any other urban downtown.

The place is diagonally across the street from our other favorite eateries: Galitos Grill.
Bar de Beto was a really nice restaurant. Very quaint and homely, yet elegant. They had the red and white checkered tableclothes and the waitstaff were dressed professionally in white uniforms with black bowties. The service and especially the food were EXCEPTIONAL...Also, very affordable..
Their menu had lots of various choices and their entrees had a unique Brazilian flavor fused partially with my guess is Italian cuisine and other types..
After our delicious meal, I wanted to go hang in a club nightspot frequented by local non working hotties..I've heard about Baronetti's on Mon nights from Bwana's guide and another guide book: Rio for Partiers 2005 by Christiano Nogueira (recommend this guide also) so I suggested to my friend that we check it out..He wasnt too thrilled about it and wanted to go to Help again..but we eventually went anyway..(My friend could be uptight sometimes and he was during the first few days of our trip..had to have a sitdown with him and finally loosened up during the trip..NOBODY is gonna fuck up my vacation..)
It was still too early to go in (as we were told by some nice Brazilian dude in very good english-probably the manager or one of the owners) and told us to come back later, so we killed some time and walked around the area. Noticed a nice restaurant down the block called Pax, will check it out later. Had a beer at a local bar a couple feet down from Baronetti's. Love the local beer Skol and Braman?..
Finally, we mustered and went to the club..it was still early as we were told by this tall, beautiful, brunette Brazilian woman working the door..But they let us in anyways..Luckily my compadre and I had photocopies of our passports, cuz three different security huge brazilian bouncers stopped us and looked at our copies along the way to the entrance. Their security was way tighter than the airport's, believe it or not. After going through all this, with the help of the beautiful door girl, we finally got in. We met two cute Brazilian girl cashiers and got our consumption cards. They were very cute and seemed happy and surprised two U.S. gringos (one Israeli, now an American green card carrying and one Asian) were at their place. I figured a lot of tourists dont come here, but it was cool..they treated us very well..
The place is nice..a good size..not too huge, but not too puny either. Lounge style. As you walk in, there is a little lounge area with nice decor and seating, the entire place was well designed. You look left and the bar is there..In front of the bar, is the dancefloor. Which was a perfect size..Nice and big enough for the place, but not the size of the Sahara desert. The dance floor is lined by another lounge area which starts at one end of the dance floor and ends at the other end..At this other end, the 3rd lounge area is slightly elevated by two stairs and surrounded by a small fence if you wanna call it that.
The music was danceable..I love to dance...im pretty decent..The dancing I saw by most of the guys in Rio were pretty bad..(except for most of the brothers..no, im not stereotyping, im just stating the facts/observations). The music was kinda euro type or american pop songs transformed club style..Wasnt too bad. There was some hip hop, not alot..Not as much as NYC..no house music.
The women were fucking unreal.BEAUTIFUL..you could tell the majority of the Brazilian women were of a higher socio-economic and educational status..
This place was a good respite from Help..Dont get me wrong, the chicks are hot in help, but this place was non-working girl hotness..The so called "loiras" were nice...
We sat in the first lounge area by the entrance, it was marked reserve, but they let us sit their anyway w/o hassles..Had a few drinks and then the place got packed over time..Saw a huge line outside. Overall this place was great. It had the look and feel of a NYC/Miami swanky lounge-nightclub without the attitude..If it was NYC or Miami, my friend and I would have a very difficult time getting in, possibly never getting into this type of place unless:
1. we knew somebody that worked there to get us on the list OR
2. we had a large ENTOURAGE of hot chicks OR
3. we were sometype of celebrity

Paid our comsumption card tabs and took a taxi back to the Atlantis Copacabana hotel. It was probably about between 1-2am, closer to 2am..I thought my friend was going to go to Help, but he called it a night..After he turned in to his own room, I went to Help on my own..(Im such a sneaky bastard..)
Got to Help...and compared to Fri night and Sat night, WAS NOT as good. Granted there were some hot chicks there, but was not the blockbuster performance of Fri night..Beginning to think Fri night is the best night for Help..(What do u think fellas??)
