I will not compare Thailand and Rio, for those of you hoping I would support one side or other and fan the flames of an argument which will never be won (only savored). For one thing, one trip to Thailand doesn’t give me enough insights to speak intelligently to the subject, and I’m still not as familiar with Brasil as I could (will) be.

In addition, the first time I went to Rio can not be compared with this first Thailand trip, because (1) I don’t really remember it too well, and (2) my mongering experience level was much higher when I arrived in Thailand, even though it may have been only partially applicable in the new venue.

But there are a few observations I can make, contrasts, maybe even conclusions.

I made a lot of newbie mistakes, because I didn’t feel like I knew what I was doing—how much to pay, what behavior to expect and tolerate. Same as Brasil.

Thailand doesn’t have anything quite like the termas. Brasil doesn’t have the gogos, or the bars teeming with girls. Different venues. But Brasil certainly doesn’t isn’t teeming with spinners like Thailand. Kind of surprisingly, I found some big-breasted (proportional, not heavy) girls in Thailand.

The language barrier is greater in Brasil. Not many garotas speak much English, and such linguistic skill is often a sign of professionalism that is best avoided by mongers like myself (maybe not you young handsome studs). In Thailand, most girls spoke at least a little basic English, so communication was generally possible at least to some extent.

There was more jungle in the bushes. Garotas have less hair growth, on average, between their legs than the pooying; in Brasil, I never encountered growth like I found on a couple of the Thai girls.

No garota has ever offered me uncovered FS. At least two pooying did, one offered uncovered anal. BBBJ was common with all the girls. No real info on how often anal was available, it’s not a big thing for me yet (I usually do it a few times each trip, this Thailand trip was no exception).

Sex was more easily available in all three locations in Thailand I visited than in Rio. Although you can find comparably low-priced sexual encounters in Rio, you have to know where to go. In Thailand, inexpensive sex is in your face in Bangkok around Nana (and other areas), in Pattaya, and even in Samui (a small resort island). And there’s more of it, it seems, in Thailand. There were probably as many available girls in tiny Samui as there are hanging around Terraco Atlantico and in Help on any given night. In Brasil, sex at lower prices (even comparable to Thailand prices) is available, but is not at all easy to find and enjoy, especially without some knowledge of Portuguese

The girls I was with in Thailand seemed to be pretty professional, with one time for short time, once at night and once in the morning for LT (in general). In Brasil, I seem to remember more passion without restrictions, even my first trip—garotas I had all night I could do two or three times before bed, twice before they left (if I was able to get it up—but they’d at least help me try). But I need to do more research here, could have been the luck of the draw or my attitude somehow. I am sure that my initial predilection for the gogo girls was one reason I found the attitudes to be professional, these are the girls in most demand, who know that they don’t have to work that hard because they are hot and visible, and have lots of men throwing money at them.

However, girls in both places seem to want you to come, and are disappointed if you don’t (and work hard to make you shoot).

Everything seemed to be less expensive in Thailand. Decent hotels were less, fruit from the street vendors was less than from the street vendors or sucos stands, easily available sex was less, trinkets and clothing cost less.

I gained a few pounds in a few weeks in Thailand. In Brasil, eating mostly red meats with the variety of a-kilo restaurants thrown in every few days, and no skimping on the desserts, I maintained the 10-kilo weight loss I achieved to prepare for Brasil. I never ate much from the street food vendors in Brasil, but somehow I felt comfortable eating unidentified meats and other things in Thailand. The range of what was available on the street was much greater in Thailand, I had small fried soft-shell crabs one time, and the fruit was plentiful, delicious, cheap, and included unfamiliar items.

One bottom line is that I’m booked to go back to Thailand on Sept. 27, to stay until Oct. 23. I have no specific travel plans for Brasil—but I feel the need to return to Rio before Sept. I like ‘em both.

Very good observations! Having the opportunity to enjoy both of these countries, I find myself making the same analysis.....I refuse to chose and will continue to hit both of them.

As matter of fact, my next trip coming up real soon will include both back to back. I just couldn't leave either out of my schedule.

I just sampled Rio for the first time in Feb. Although I am well known as a big Thai fan I LOVED Brazil too. I thought most of your observations were right on the money. Except I think if I spent much time in Brazil I would gain ALLOT of weight eating the local food. And I LOVE unidentified Thai food. I had an awesome time in Brazil and will return but Thailand will always be my first love. Another MAJOR difference is safety. In Bangkok last weekend I arrived at 1:00am. Took a taxi into the heart of the city. Wandered around the streets the entire night dressed nice, carrying allot of money and all of my belongings and letting street girls lead me off into dark alleys to hotels/rooms they recommended. I suspect I would last about 10 minutes tops if I duplicated this behavior in Rio.

On the uncovered FS issue, several garotas I know of were OK with it and many Thai ladies are OK with it. But as always I consistantly put on three condems at a time. Just to be safe.

On the bushiness issue. I suspect most garotas are much hairier. They just pretty much automatically seem to keep it trimmed or shaved. Most Thai ladies don't shave anything but have very little body hair to begin with.

Hunterman, there are some good observations of LOS here, especially considering it was your first visit. I have previously commented on how very professional some of the BKK BG's are becoming. However the BG's are not turnin' tricks for the goodness of their health. The real stunners don't need the money that badly either, as there seems a never-ending line of fools spoiling them to bits. (Supply & demand)

One VERY underestimated thing about Thailand is how very safe it is. There are a multitude of countries far more dangerous than Thailand, and this is a great reflection of how friendly the Thais are. The Thai people are extremely tolerant Buddhists and the BKK streets are extremely safe to wander around at any hour. It will be great to see you again in September.

I agree with most of your points and they are well made. Was a bit more curious about the "hairiness issue". Apart from a few around the pubic area most Thai girls I have come across are devoid of hair on their bodies. In Brazil I came across hairy legs, backs and even a hairy nipple, which is a little off putting.

One area where i think the South American girls score is there performance when you get down to the sex. There is no shyness like in LOS, no time wasted waiting while they shower alone and return in a towel. In general I found them better at sex and honestly believe a large portion of the girls including the more professional ones enjoy the sex more.

I found Rio was more GF sex, while LOS is more GF experience, in that the girls spoil you rotten and make you feel like a king. Sex is great in both and sure there are some real wild girls in LOS, but they are far more difficult to find, while in Rio it is more the norm. What did you think after your first visit?

Priew -- Yes, nobody is making us choose one or the other, we can have it all! Do you have any info yet on how to get directly from Rio to LOS (or vice versa)? Sounds like something I might do.

Sancho -- Yes, unidentified Thai food, I love the whole experience, and will continue to sample it. I think Brasil had more pastries in your face than BKK (although I saw some tempting stuff at a few bakeries), yet Brasileiras manage to stay in pretty good shape. I guess if you eat the widely-available Italian food, and those tasty empanadas with the thick carb crusts, and some of the other fat/calorie-laden foods that look (and are) so tasty....

And I didn't mention the safety issue, but I did feel quite safe in BKK, Pattaya, and Samui because I had been told it was safe. In Rio, I haven't had any problems (one "almost" in Porto Alegre), but I am especially careful because I have been told to be careful--it feels like when I lived in South Side Chicago. And I know it actually can be dangerous. Funny, in LOS (and at home, for that matter), I kind of take the safety for granted.

Regarding hair, the Brasileiras do shave (or at least trim substantially), and bleach the hair on their limbs. They're quite vain, and you'll always find them looking at themselves in any mirrors installed in public places like elevators. I think I need to do more research on this issue, it's not something I've really given much attention.

BTW, loved your chat post on your "Monday morning commute to work" from Cambodia to SD, I still marvel at it as I savor it in my mind.

Dave -- Thanks again for you help and hospitality. Now that I know what to expect, I'll be happy to ST the stunners and not try to make GFs of them. For that, I'll find the cutie among the 20 girls competing for 10 guys at a bar, or something like that. Happy birthday!

WW -- I didn't really get much of the GF experience (or find really wild girls) in LOS, partly my fault for being such a butterfly but mostly due to my newbiness and ineptitude in feeling things out, and the fact that I hit three different cities in 16 days. Next time, I'll be looking for GFEs to spend some time with. And in Brasil next time, too, which is something I haven't really done. I agree with you about the GF sex, and unabashed sexuality (look at the difference in my photos). On the safety issue, taking things for granted, I found this recent post by Sandman: Robberies and muggings are an accepted part of life in Rio. Too bad because their tourism would soar if their reputation wasn't so bad. Then again, prices would skyrocket for GDP's and we wouldn't be having so much fun so inexpensively....Think, think, think SECURITY while in Rio and enjoy your stay.

Hmmmm. I'd rather think about sex and the other available hedonistic pursuits (culinary delights, the beach, sightseeing, etc.). Score a BIG ONE for LOS, I took the safety for granted there (although I still was using the eyes in the back of my head). Maybe I lived in Chicago too long (6 yr.), and take the caution for granted. But it seems like the odds are, I'll get robbed on mugged in Rio one day--not something I want to contemplate--but not in LOS.

Dave -- I agree there are plenty of hot babes, probably more than in Rio. But my mileage varied from WD's wth one of the two hot babes we both took. Yes, I will keep returning, a little wiser each time--alas, I'm not sure my research will EVER be done ;=].

In all my years in LOS I can honestly say I was even concerned for my safety only several times and those turned out to be perceptions not reality. Back in the day with 3-4 AM closings I would hop a tuk tuk at 4AM to get back to hotel. Some of those dudes took every small alley and shortcut imaginable, wrong way down one way streets etc. It gets your imagination going as you wind around tiny little sois all alone, no friggin idea where you are ,drunk, with a wad of cash in your pocket , but I have never been robbed.

The biggest danger in LOS- both BKK and Pattaya - is the light fingered katoeys. You do not even know you've been robbed until you go to check your cash. Not a danger but a friggin annoyance for sure. I wish the boys in the tight brown unis would do something about those creatures other than get BJs from them.

Hunterman, nice wrap up and you handled a delicate task very adroitly. Welcome to the schizo few who can´t seem to choose and who resist the temptations of others trying to pigeon hole you as an ¨either or¨ monger.

Despite my infatuation with the Phils lately, LOS is my first love, it´s a guaranteed good time for me. As you know, I still surround myself with everything Thai these days.

I also love RIO and found your observations of the garotas to be right on, yes, they can be passionate, many times to the point of being extremely wild and adventuristic in bed.

Anyways, we´ll have to compare notes when we meet.
