Breakfast and Beachroad
Discounting the early morning sucking affair on Soi 8, I begin my stays in Pattaya with my usual ritual and vigor; breakfast at Dynasty and a relaxing stroll down beach road surveying the newbies for the possible diamond in the rough and to shrug off some on the kinks acquired from the long flight.
Breakfast at Dynasty
I eat breakfast every day at Dynasty as breakfast food at Dynasty is very good and consistent, something of a rarity in LoS. To be honest, I’ve never eaten breakfast on a regular basis in LoS food until I was Epi’s wingman a few times—he’s an early riser and I typically like to sleep late. Back to breakfast, I usually order a soup that I lived on in China. I’ll spare you Chinese pinyin, but it’s basically meatball soup, which consists of a very light broth, ground pork (in China they combine pork, raw egg, some corn starch, salt, and minced fresh ginger to form tiny meatballs vs. in LoS they simply sprinkle ground pork in soup), bai cai (i.e. similar to nappa cabbage), and green onion, and thin rice noodles. I like simple foods in the morning to offset the heavy spice I later consume, so this is a perfect fit. This is Yin and Yang DM style, which has kept my stomach trouble free in LoS while subsisting on street food. Plus it brings me back to tranquil times in central China, when food was awesome and pussy was free.
Speaking of LoS, I am here writing as I wait to board on a USAir flight and am watching Ong-Bat for the hundredth time—damn I’ve been away too long (4 weeks and counting). I’m starting to drool over the chicks in the movie. To hell with the naysayers, Thai chicks are the hottest! Ahh the pleasures of flying on USscare, the flight is delayed so they can change out the tires. At least I’ll have my time for drool and writing…
Beach Road
My late morning walk on beach road is a great way to start the day in Pattaya. Grab a coconut (I prefer the small white ones for ease of handling) and sip away as you walk. I find the walk from around Soi 13 – 8, particular stimulating on sunny mornings. Basically you walk and enjoy the scenery, nothing complicated about this.. Sprinkled about in clusters are groups of 2-4 gals, whom are using sitting back relaxing, waiting to make eye contact. Mind you the quality is a step down from gogos (DUH), but often times, you can find a decent enough looking gal who is more than willing to earn a few baht. Sometimes, you find a real diamond in the rough, which is what I typically am on the look out for.
If you’ve had a rough night, perhaps just sitting on the beach doing a little reading is just what the doctor ordered. I find that a wonderful way to unwind and reflect—and no I’m not reading Penthouse.
Other possibilities are endless, rent a boat, get a foot massage, pedicure and/or manicure. I recommend you avoid all of these. Massages, pedicures, and manicures all pale is comparison to what you will get a decent massage shop. The few times I have partaken, I usually end up telling them “ok—that’s enough, leave me alone now.” And this coming from one who LOVES his daily (sometimes 2*daily) massage, is saying something.
For those that know me, I don’t really care about lining someone up all the quickly and I pretty much take things in stride. If my walk down beach road is nothing more than a “walk” it does not diminish my pleasure in the least. I enjoy going for a walk and drinking some coconut juice—everything else is gravy and I also find pleasure in people watching.
DM Beach Scorecard (hey I need new scorecards since my “safe-sax” scorecards ignited such a firestorm!): During this trip, I had 5 walks down the beach, consumed 4 coconuts (couldn’t find my small white ones anywhere one of the days), read several chapters of my latest Dean Koontz book, rented one lounge chair, got groped 3 times to full arousal, groped a gal 1 time, and took one gal back for some after-walk play.
Now word/s of warning for anyone who hasn’t been there.
1. The construction along the walkway is never-ending, which significantly affects the stomping grounds and where girls hang out. It changes every time, so you need to survey the area before settling into a routine.
2. Just as girl looks are highly variable, so is their service and aptitude. These are typically girls who are raw and very new to the scene (i.e. inexperienced). Sure, sometimes, there is a hottie out there who makes a pretty baht selling her wares, but that’s not the norm. You MUST interview and be very selective. YMMV depending on how the chemistry between u and the gal (DOH!).
3. Ladyboys are out in numbers in the evening and early mornings (i.e. 1-3AM). I never cared for the venue at night, but you may want to depending on what you’re looking for. Ladyboys on the beach at night can be aggressive —keep your head about you.
DMs Beach tip: I’ve fell in love with my pair of Reptile Sunglasses, which are important for reducing eye strain, thereby allowing you to be all that more comfortable while ambling along in your loose short and slip-ons (not to mention reduce squinting and subsequent wrinkling around the eyes). Although not as expensive as Maui Jim’s, the technology, quality, and construction is every bit as good.
Foot note, since these chapters flow a logical time sequence, I should add the following mundane items to what I do as soon at daybreak after eating breakfast:
1. Secure the use of a scooter with LOW miles (at least under 5k KM).
2. Buy a handful of 300 baht 1-2call loads (300 baht denomination to add time to the SIM validity)
3. Straighten out any outstanding flight or hotel plans for the trip (important as I usually wing it and wait till I’m in LoS to figure out specifics). Do not delay or else you may be sweet talking a BG for a place to sleep.
Next Venue: Soi 6

Strolling down the beach side of the road is equally nice as the sun is setting in the evening - very relaxing - almost a different world from the hustle and bustle across the street.

ALL the hustle is on the beach side if you know what I mean.
Can't speak about the bustle - never seen it- got no idea what it looks like. How much is it and was it worth it ??

"To be honest, I’ve never eaten breakfast on a regular basis in LoS food until I was Epi’s wingman a few times"
Good to see my bad habits are rubbing off on others!!
"1. Secure the use of a scooter with LOW miles (at least under 5k KM)."
A valuable lesson I see you learned after our last trip together.
Looking forward to the rest.
