Bonus The Story on St. Maarten N.A. Bonus

St. Maarten is an island controlled by two governments. The north end is French controlled and is the home of topless and nude beaches and famous resorts. The South end is controlled by the Dutch and is the happening end! Here, casinos and prostitution are legal. Although after fully investigating and experiencing this island, I must say I still prefer my favorite place (The DR). However, there are some advantages to this destination. Hotels: The hotels here are top of the line. And the best news of all, NO PROBLEMS with women in the rooms. Several nights I took girls into the hotel, directly by security and the front desk staff. The Dominican Republic could learn something here. The rates are higher, typical of other islands, but not to bad.

Girls: Guess what? The place is full of Dominicans?? There is also a lot of Columbians and a hand full of natives. They do incall in the brothels for about $40.00 a session. Overnight at the hotel will cost you about $100.00 more or less, and a small bar fee. Definitely more than the DR, but considerably less than Costa Rica, if you are looking for a new place to go.

Brothels:

Seamans Club	Open 11am-4am daily (many Columbians)	542-2978
Club Defiance	Located below a local disco. About 20 Girls. Open at night only.	542-1670
Border Bar	On the road to Casa Blanca. Very large dump. About 20-25 girls (Mostly Domin).	543-6140
Casa Blanca	Probably the largest. I went two nights 30-40 women each night. (Good mix).	543-6300

(All locations are dumps, take the cabby in with you)

Taxi vs Rent A Car: Unlike any other island, I think it is very safe to drive here. But at night I liked having the cabby with me. If you go in numbers, and don't drink toooo much, rent a car. Also, during the day, there are many nude beaches and other places to go. Taxis are expensive here. (Juan, Taxi #57, Cell Phone 556-2673)

Food and Water: Great food here (but a little pricey), water is safe to drink from the tap.

Casinos: All full service (including craps). Generally much nicer than those in the DR.

Quality of Girls: The Domincans were average (6-7). The Columbians I found were very nice, (7-8), but not to many of them. Locals were average(5-7).

Strip Joints: Platinum Club, near Maho Beach, good quality girls, $10.00 cover, waste of time in my opinion.

Beaches: Very clean, not real crowded. Good selection of watersports. Nude and topless beaches are located in the Orient Bay Area. (About twenty minutes from downtown Philipsburg.

Shopping: I hate too, however, the prices here are incredible. For example, one liter of absolute vodka $4.95, carton Marlboros $10.00, nice (3 pixel) digital cam $125.00.
Nice downtown area (Philipsburg) to hang out during the day. Usually a couple of cruise ships in port for the day.

Regular Discos: Many nice places to go. I went to "Q" Club every night. It is located across from the Maho Beach Resort. The locals tell me that Thursday thru Sunday night the clubs are generally busy. Q Club was packed with nice young women every night I went. No cover charge.

Booze Prices: American and Caribbean beer in brothels $2.00, in discos $4-$5. Hard liquor is about $4.50 a drink. (Get a bottle for the same price in any store).

Customs and Departure Tax: $20.00 departure tax, what customs???
