I made a five night return to Jakarta, and I spent most of my time in the scruffy Kota Side of town. Here I present some info, pics, and observations for you amusement and information.

For the second time I stayed at the fairly new Sparks hotel on Jalan Mangga Besar. I contact them directly by e-mail and get a rate of $40 US a night which includes all taxes and breakfast buffet for two. Have you ever seen that TV show Trading Spaces? Well this hotel looks like it was decorated chic but on a budget. The rooms are smaller than those at the Mecure Rekso near by, but I find the layout comfortable and efficient. The bathroom is still of a decent size, contrary to most places that offer smaller rooms where the will stick you with an uncomfortable small bathroom. Unlike the Mercure, you get an in room safe.

There isn’t a Bluebird taxi stand at the hotel, but reception can call and get you one in a couple of minutes. Also the room has lots of lighting options. I recommend you request a pool view as these are room as the end of the hall and you get two windows as opposed to one. In these pool view rooms you get a bonus show on Sunday as a group of Chinese Baptists hold services in the hotel and then go to the pool and baptize people for a couple of hours. Makes you realize the difference between being the most populous Muslim country and being a Islamic state.

In the lobby and other public places you can connect use their WiFi to connect to the internet. It is free right now, but you have to see reception to get a username and password. Be forewarned the internet chokes up in the afternoon everywhere in Jakarta. Sparks also has a decent bar and nightclub. Currently they have this great deal of a 4-5oz decent Filet, fries, veggie and a soft drink all for 20K rupiah (about $2.25) makes for a great light lunch. But perhaps the best thing about this hotel is that it is very conveniently located to lots of P4P action. Here is the website

One night an expat friend and I went to have dinner at the buffet at the JW Marriott. It was awesome with unbelievable selection and quality. Expect to drop about $15-20 US on this meal. Another food note, along Jalan Mangga Besar you will see all these roadside restaurants that specialize in selling King Cobra amongst other snakes. I took some pictures of the snake cages but they didn’t turn out. The guys were pretty cool about my tourist behavior. It turns out that one major preparation is make Sate. So the guys prodded me into trying a snake sate. It tasted like chicken with lots of little pieces of cartlidge. None the less these places are an interesting roadside attraction.

On to the girlie action

PenJay

As is usual I spent a lot of time in the PenJay trio of bars: Sari Ayu, LA Bar, and MTR Bar. You can find these bars real close to one another in a block along Pangeran Jayakarta about 300 meters east of Mangga Dua. Unfortunately, the big Puri Handyani hot stone massage neon sign is no longer there to serve as a landmark. Also the prices in the place have gone up to 200K for ST plus a usual tip 50K for satisfactory service

I pulled two girls at Sari Ayu this trip. This first girl is a repeat from a previous trip. She has really turned me on to going with tall chicks. This one is a real partier and quite bule friendly. She’s good in the sack and looks awesome naked. I feel like I am fucking the Indonesian Cindy Crawford when I am with her. Sorry I still haven’t got any naked pics of her yet. Manga Besar 12

Right across the street from the Sparks hotel is Mangga Besar 12. On this street you will find three bars: Bintang Mawar, Siera Club (LOL), and Madonna’s. You will also find the Olympic Hotel were you can get a cheap room for 250K a night. I had popped into Bintang Mawar once before around 10PM and found it not so happening. Well one day I pop in around 6PM and the place is totally rocking and there are lots of hot girls- almost as good as the Penjay bars. It turns out they open at 12 noon and are mostly a daytime early evening place. However, this place is way more Chinese than the PenJay joints

I ended up taking a girl whose face was pretty but her prom dress suggested no such a good body. The prom dressed lied as her 18 year old body was pretty damn sweet. I had heard that the ST room were atrocious here, but I thought they were much better than the PenJay ones. Hell you actually got a fitted sheet on your mattress here! The price here is 210k (60K for room + 150k for girl). I came back the day of my departure around 1PM and I was disappointed as I had a good mamasan bringing exactly the type of girls I wanted. However, all five of the candidates had serious gas face at the prospect of going with a large bule. So I finished my beer and went across the street to Siera Club.

Siera Club is a small operation that has at most 20 girls, and there are no stunners but some cuties – but I think two of the waitresses not on the market at very hot. It is a smaller lounge room and the people are actually really really friendly. Once again this is a noon opener and provides mostly daytime service. LT is 500K before 6PM and 400K afterwards. ST is 150K all inclusive or so I was told. I wasn’t sure if it was true so I tipped 50K on top. Once again the ST rooms were on par with Bintang Mawar. The girl I got from here was the biggest sweetheart. No very experienced in the room but man was she passionate. I was beaming afterwards as I had to haul ass off to the airport. I will return for some more of this girl. It’s funny her body looked much better out of her clothes, also she was always smiling and giggling but always had a serious face on for the pics.

I did hit the Bule trail a couple of times. After I dined at JW Marriot with my friend we headed over to the newly renovated Tiga Puluh bar in the Meriden Hotel. What a cluster fuck. Some ridiculous covercharge and outrageous drinks get you the opportunity to see some really crappy western top 40 cover band. (The Indo band that played at Sparks hotel was a hell of a lot better) and the ratio of guys to girls must have been 3 to 1. And the girls there were almost all fat old undesirable pigs. There was one chick with a super hot spinner body, it turns out she was 41!!! Hell I would have done her silly, but after I broke the ice with her and her friends she quickly tried to reattach herself to my friend (who wasn’t going to take any girls that night.) When I am paying I am not going to be the red ribbon for any girl. So when she came back to me I basically to the stupid cunt to fuck off.

Next stop on that Saturday night was CJ’s in the Hotel Mulia. Same expensive cover charge and drinks but here at least the band is pretty damn good and entertaining. However, once again there was a sever excess of hot dogs to hot dog buns. So we quickly decided to split for the more downscale Block M. On the way out, I did catch the eye of a curvy sexily dancing girl who gave me a smile that didn’t quit until I approached her. I simply asked her for her number and called the next day.

It turns out she lives in Bogor about an hour outside of Jakarta. Divorced from some French guy after 5 years of marriage and is clearly looking for a bule boyfriend but does except some generous gifts from the Malaysian guys who take a liking to her in CJ’s. She is a prototypical example of the type of semi-pros you can run into in these 5* hotel bars. Anyway, I decide that I will try something different and come spend a day in Bogor with her. Unfortunately on the morning of my “date” I had a work emergency and I had to work through the hotel fax machine. My date agreed to come down to Jakarata and we could have dinner, dancing and what ever would happen afterwards. So I took her to a nice Japanese restaurant for dinner and then we went to party a CJ’s afterwards. She was actually a great attentive date and would probably make some older guy looking to settle down very happy. We got pretty drunk and left her car at the Hotel Mulia and took a cab back to my hotel. She was pretty dam zesty in the sack and had learned that a good blow job was essentially to marital bliss. While she was a bit older, 26, she really new how to package herself well and treat a man. I loved her little g-string.

I only took one girl from the bars in Blok M. If you are uncomfortable with the language barrier, don’t want too much Indo culture, and want cheap LT freelancers. Blok M will make you happy. I pulled this hard body Thai looking girl on a busy Saturday night from My Bar. She was a real hell cat in the sack but only wanted ST because she had a little cousin fresh cousin from the kampong she had tagging along. I figured I would take the chance and see if little Ayam Kampong couldn’t be corrupted into a little threesome action. It was a long shot that didn’t pay off. A couple of interesting places I came across but did not book at. On Mangga Besar 8 about two blocks down from Jalan Mangga Besar is the Travel Hotel. On the second floor there is a "Health Center" and inthe fish tank was about 20-25 girls most of which were smoking hot like the upper half at the PenJay joints. The mamasan quoted me 210K for an hour and some ridiculous 1.2 million rupiah LT fee. I wasn't sure if you were just gonna get straight service and then you tip 50K afterwards, or were you going to get into some protracted negotiation for a substantial tip as in a massage joint. It certainly looked intriguing, but I wanted better intel before I pulled the trigger.

I also found two brothels for take away. Both were in non-descript residential looking shop houses. One was around the corner from travel hotel at Taman Sari 57. In here you got a line-up around 7:PM that had about 15 very hot girls, but I haven't seen such horrible stink face and turn away since Porker cruised into Queen's Massage in Batam. Here the price was 400K for three hours back in your hotel and 1000K overnight. I was tempted to take a 3 hour tour for the team. As the girl's were HOT.

The next one I went to was on Mangga Besar 13 no. 1A, which had a very pleasent to deal with papasan Rusuci (08161930569). I was told that I was too early and that the most of the girls were getting showered and made up. I was only shown three girls but none were too good looking. However, they all had a friendly warm attitude. The guy really was pushing some fat girl for me, saying that she had great service and everything was on the menu and would be delivered enthusiatically. But I wasn't going to puke 400K to fuck some fat girl even if I could vigorously fuck her in the ass. Prices here were the same as in the Taman Sari house.

As for the 5K DVDs, all of mine work fine and I did test them before purchase. I wonder if there is some way to to do the same for MP3 discs? I have only bought MP3 disc in Batam and I have had problems with about 25% of mine.

Crazier, I was not complete in my reporting. When I didn't want the fatty, the guy actually listened to what I wanted and tried best to fulfill my wishes and gave what seemed credible previews on the level of services. And when it was clear I didn't see what I want, I didn't get the obnoxious hard press to make a pick. He was pleseant and instead countered they would have a lot more girls at 9PM and that he would even be happy to have me back then.

I have dealt with more than enough shitty mama and papasans in Indo to know when I am actually getting one that is content on winning my business for the long haul through good service. In all of PenJay, TC's, and Bingtang Mawar the mama and papasans are the most useless annoying fucks who make zero effort of trying to understand what I am looking for and in no way try to actually help you find a girl that will work well with you. Instead they start at the bottom of the barrel and endlessly push girls onto you until you either pick one, they run out of girls, or you a driven out of the bar and on to the next establishment.

MX, how often do you get stinkface turn away in Jakarta? Were these Indo girls or Chinese-Indo girls? Just curious how frequent "bule discrimination" occurs.

In the Bule venues almost never and the girls are 100% Indo. But it's funny my Asian friends claim that they will get squeezed sometimes hard on the prices, while my simple placing 300K in their pocket in the morning has never created a problem. Evidently local expats are only paying 200-250K for the LT services.

In the Asian venues I seem to favor, I would say about 25% of the girls in the PenJay bars will not go with a Bule. Bintang Mawar seemed to have a much more Chinese crowd so maybe it is higher there but I really don't have enough experience yet to dismiss it was just an unlucky string. While these are brothels, they are also bars and you can interact (for quite some time if you want) with a girl before you decide to take her.

Indo Fishtanks are a strange creature, as stinkface doesn't always mean a no. If you pick a stinkface girl (especially if the whole place is full of stink faces) you could actually have a really good session or it could be a disaster. Ask Porker about this as he has had both good and bad luck doing this. I am not too good at the art of point and click, so I will never pick a stinkface and will always try to get a least a couple minutes of one-on-one interaction or flirting before I pull the trigger.

Now all the Asian places I go are more down market (even though the girls still cost more than the Bule venues) and only have Indo girls. I would love to find a place where I could get quality Indo-Chinese girls and not have to pay a couple hundred dollars for the privelage.

Also, in Jakarta I haven't really experienced any Bule price gouging like you get in most of Asian. I am pretty paranoid about not getting the "fair market price" and I am always checking this out, and for the most part I am charged the same prices as locals right up front. Then again I know just enough Indonesian that perhaps they don't try and give me a different price. However, you must always be wary of being adopted by some taxi/ojek/tout because then all your prices will go up to pay this commision. In Batam you have to be very diligent about this.

I get the stinkfaces too in these places so it's not just Bules.

If I recall correctly, the entrance fee is around 250,000 Rupiah, and the 90 minute session will set you back 1.2 mil Rp. I had a wonderful session with a 20 y/o girl from Zuhai back in January. Bagus, sekali!

However, I must confess that I am a cheap charlie. I am blessed with a position that allows me lots of free time to pursue my favorite hobby. But it I am only blessed to play it at the cheap charlie levels. The good news is that evidently the there is a heavy discount on the "massage" price if you get in before sometime in the afternoon. I here there are excellent local Indo girls cost 180K for the massage and then you negotiate for your extra services. Still a big bite out of my budget for ST, but a splurge I will definately make. While I am reporting more from the lower end of the price spectrum J-town definatley has the facilities and quality of girls to create the fantasy mongering camp you have presented in your reports. btw, i notice that the sparks hotel lists it's internet price as being 60 usd for a night, a internet discount from their regular fare of 80usd.....don't pay it! If you walk in, you can get rooms for 340-360R which is $40usd or less. Besides, neighboring hotels charge much less for adequate rooms.

crazier, about 30% of the girls that i collected numbers from in jkt, either didn't respond to sms/calls, or didn't put much effort in communicating. It seems like girls are willing to give out their digits even though they are not really that interested. I guess they were being polite.....with a sympathy hp # hand out?

SOC, that is actually a great thing about Indonesia. Hell 70% of a positive response rate is fantastic in any part of the world! Also, you do get the sympathy HP# handout because the Indonesians are very averse to embarassing someone. So it's a great place for you to practice on your game without any of the fear of public rejection that plagues trying to hook-up on the amatuer front in the west. Indonesia is one of the best places for a guy to meet up with non-pro girls in my experience. My time was too short in Vietnam but perhaps it is better. Pi supposedly good, but so far I have only interacted with whores there.

After reading some Jakarta reports and especially this one...it seems the Penjay trio of bars have more talent than I have seen in any group of bars anywhere in Asia. As a matter of fact, the first two girls from Ari Ayu are perfect and 10's in my book. I'm afraid once I start going here that I might just skip other destinations for a while.
