The PAISA LOOK

I always really loved the Paisa look – dark hair, lighter-Triguena like skin and dark, beautiful eyes. In fact, as I noted, many of the finer female specimens I came across in Colombia were PAISAS. Here are some pics of MDE gals I’ve come across in CTG and Cali, that to me, have, what I consider, that PAISA look.

Unlike CALI and CTG, MDE really didn’t have as many darker Morena and black girls. In fact, Smitopher actually hooked up with the most stunning Light Skinned Black girl of the trip at Abydos Massage, and she was visiting from CTG. If you like the darker girls, which I’m always open for, then CTG and Cali will have a lot more of them working and non-working.

In MDE, there were a lot of really beautiful gals all over the place, especially in the Parque Llera area and the Tesoro mall. It was amazing just to sit and admire. However, the locals didn’t seem as piqued about a non-colombian eyeing them like they do in Cali. In fact, in Cali, where they also have nice malls, if you simply sit for a few minutes on the benches, people (often gals) will come up to you and strike up a conversation. I met a bunch of gals and an ex-GFE that way in Cali. But it appeared the Paisas were a wee bit less eager about a stranger eyeing them and smiling at them, perhaps it was just me. No worries, there were plenty of pros and non-pros we met here.

ADVENTURES WITH THE NOVIA

The first night, Julieth and I prepared for a night out to see the MDE that the locals knew. We first went to a great bar/restaurant at the bottom of the Parque Llera where they had excellent mixed drinks and some really good Italian food, they’re meat lasagna was especially good. Sorry I forgot the name of the place. For the three of us, who drank like fish, I believe the bill came out to about $50.00.

After dinner, we decided to go to a disco. Smitopher was to join us later, after having a bad experience where he walked out of a fancy casa that had gals demanding 350K pesos for takeout. We eventually ended up at the Palmita Disco in Toblado and had an incredibly good time there. This was a fun disco if you ever want to see how the local MDE denizens party, a very festive atmosphere with live bands and great service. Later in the evening, groups of young people with several hotties came to party. Although we spent about 4 hours dancing to excellent Meringue, Salsa and Rumba music (live and by DJ) and must have put away about 5 bottles of peppermint Schnapps, the bill came out to less than $50.00 for everything. Again, the low cost for everything was simply unreal, especially coming from a relatively expensive place like CTG. You can find the same type of value in CALI.



The next morning, having missed breakfast (which would be a trend), the novia and I went exploring at the Tesoro Mall and the Pomona Market to load up on the caviar, beer, and cheese.

I believe this Medellin fact is now well established: There is a lot of eye candy in the malls and disco's. But most of it is off-limits i.e. not available.

It is much easier to hook up with semi and non-pros in CTG than Medellin. Comments?

Bkkguru: IMO, I think CTG is easier, especially at the beaches, discos such as Tu Candela and Tripleteria, or in or near the beaches. There are a lot of tourist gals looking for a good time while on vacation, who also work as freelancers. It's well known among the gals vacationing in CTG that you can make some spending money while there in CTG. To be fair, I didn't spend too much time trying to hookup with non-pros in MDE, and my Spanish isn't perfect. It's just my limited experience and what I noticed while viewing the eyecandy. People are generally very friendly and eager to help out in MDE, and the people of MDE are certainly alot prouder as a group.

IMO, Cali was unusual for meeting the non-pros, it is, afterall, where many of the matrimonial services are located and the economy in Cali is in some doldrums. At the ChipeChape Mall in North Cali, which is similar to the Tesoro mall in that many affluent, educated Colombians, go there to shop and hangout. At both Chipechape and Unicentro, I found it very easy to just smile and start a conversation at all times of the day. Perhaps it also has to do with how few tourists even venture out to Cali, so the novelty factor may play into this. Also, in Cali, the malls have a lot of these beer kiosks where a lot of socializing goes on, so the festive atmopshere and alcohol seems to loosen up the non-pros. I also found it easier to meet gals at the discos/salsa clubs in Cali.

I had first crack at Lindsay. Boy did I blow it. I choose her friend, a starfish it turns out, even with Merl urgeing me to reconsider.

If I'd seen Lindsay there would be NO WAY IN HELL she would get loose from my meathooks. MongerX and Blazers have traveled with me and understand JUST how dead on my radar is for such "entertainments"...

I've been to the disco listed above, Las Palmitas. They also have this really cool enclosed area on the edge of the parking lot where you can have dinner or just dessert/drinks and enjoy the spectacular view. And each seating area is semi-enclosed, so you have a little privacy. And it's cheap.

That's the location where the lesser famous Escobar, Andreas was shot to death after scoring an own goal against the Colombian National team in world cup play. Allegedly the gunmen shouted Goal! Goal! after each shot.

But I had a good time there. . .

Smitty, you're lucky Epi turned us down this trip as I've seen him in action, he's tenacious like a pitbull when he wants a gal. Gotta remember not to make any sudden moves when Epi is in "heat" :-)

WS: that's an interesting bit of trivia about Las Palmitas, the place looked absolutely safe but the Colombians do take their soccer very seriously. I did see the enclosed area when we were there and kept a mental note to re-visit this place when I have more time.

You know, for a big, fat guy I can move pretty fast!!

Two weeks ago I was on Soi 6 in Pattaya with Blazers about 12:45am. We'd spent the evening on Walking Street barhopping and having a lot of fun. When we hit Soi 6, it was just to wander the street and see if there was anything worth looking at before heading to Soi 7 & 8.

Suddenly Blazers looks around and I've got this 34kg piece of trash bouncing on my knee with my right hand sunk in her shorts: six-packed.

Yeah, she ain't all that pretty, but dirty makes up for a LOT.

Thanks for the interesting report. So I guess girls in Medellin are not that eager to meet a gringo and get out of Medellin as in Cali. Since my experience in Cali is just on the North side of the town and most of the girls I met there were really trying to get out of Colombia and go somewhere else in Europe or US.

Great info on the party scene.

Jkarp, in MDE, I found the Paisas and Paisos(?) to be very proud of their city and their roots, they adored their city and I can appreciate why they do so. In fact, even when you run into Paisas in other cities, just get them started on MDE and they'll beam up nicely. Yes, a lot less motivation for them to leave a city like MDE.

Since you've been to Cali also and know what I mean about the non-pro scene there, I hope you can give us the your definitive observations of the non-pros action in MDE after your trip.
